461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Sound Money? on: July 11, 2017, 10:48:02 AM
Why will bitcoin ever be compared to gold or silver and Co?  Butcoin is a decentralised currency and extremely volatile which makes it either a good or bad investment, wherever luck falls on your side. It is high time we started looking at bitcoin as an easy way to transact globally rather than an investment. Gold is an asset with a future that is solely determined, we don't even know what's up with bitcoin tomorrow or near future.

I think they are comparing BTC to gold not just because the price and the characteristics of these too. They are comparing it to gold because Bitcoin have the same way of growth like the gold did that's why Btc is called as the gold of the internet. Bitcoins price is overwhelming gold in a large gap but gold's stable price and undeniably real value is overwhelming btc. They have the edges on each other. Don't just compare, make or work to make this two (gold,Bitcoin) be your treasure.
462  Economy / Economics / Re: How to double your money using BTC? on: July 11, 2017, 09:42:04 AM
This is totally wrong. There is no any safe way how anyone can double or triple his money for any currency independently if this is fiat or a crypto. The same also applies for bitcoin too. Therefore, the gold rule is big risk for potential big profit that means you can loose your funds too.

True. When in terms in trading you will need some necessary skills and knowledge in trading in order to be in sync in the flow of altcoins, but as you have said you would have to do some risks ( great risks in order to double your btc ). The only scenario am I seeing that you can double your money is that working here and when you have some Bitcoin in your pocket you can do some business in the real world or buy some land and real states or room and make it as a renting apartment. Two birds in one stone. Cheers.

464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Pillar - The Personal Data Locker - 60hr Token sale begins July 15 on: July 11, 2017, 07:41:26 AM
this project has a good idea, but why too rush for the ico ? maybe if the team delay it for one month it will gives more attention to manyvinvestor out there

That's a great option but I think that's why they have started the campaign before the crowdsale and because they have a great team and a great idea, they thought that the crownsale will be enough in a span of approximately 3 days.
465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone ever tried medicine to control impulsive gambling? on: July 11, 2017, 07:10:26 AM
What you are telling is the addictive condition of the gambler who get addicted to gambling and after some time when it goes above limit that time they have to contact the doctors to control their gambling impulsive because rigid gambling will make your pulse go high and their comes Blood Pressure problem and all sorts of disease will start to come. So to control it their are lot of medicine according to the problem.

Well I guess when someone can't stop the addiction then medication with a professional doctor is recommended, but we don't it's effects for sure. Same for hypertension, there are some medications there and some has side effects especially in the long term medication. In my opinion gambling rehabilitation is the best way to stop it or to control yourself or distance yourself from gambling addiction.
466  Economy / Economics / Re: Would bitcoin help teach kids about saving? on: July 10, 2017, 08:07:12 PM
So I have 2 cousins. One of them doesn't save and is a huge spender while the other is a saver and spends only once a year. So would bitcoin be a good way to teach them about saving? Since, mining bitcoin is the only way to make alot of bitcoin, I would use a alt wallet to show them what happens if you spend and don't save. What do you think?

In my opinion were just teaching them more how to spend much larger amount. I think it is better to teach kids such story telling story with lessons on spending. Show them illustrations or watch movies that tells how important saving is. Set an example for yourself or make a scenario that will show them what is the advantages of spending. Dont teach them how the market works yet, unless they are the one who are insisting to go such field. The basics are much important and learning can be acquired by experienced and studies. Be a guide to them.

As far as I understand there is going to be a limit for 60h sale?

Limit on what? be specific ? If you are talking about what if the coins needed didnt sold out in a 60 hour time then I think they will decide to lengthen the span of the ICO sale. BUt I think they have a very promising coin so it is possible.
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are good to invest now on: July 10, 2017, 08:44:16 AM
Hi Guys, I am planning to invest some amount for cryptocurrency trading. Which coins are good to invest now apart from BTC,ETH,LTC,dash,XRP,XMR. Please suggest which are suitable for small investment like  1000$. Also Please share the link for trade.

Thanks

When choosing what coin should I invest, I always look for the top ten cryptocurrencies with the highest price and observe their price trends for about 3 days. When youre not sure about the coin, you should research some background about it and why and when that coin is created. When New coins are introduced I always look how promising their projects and look for their potential of growth. The more promising the project the more it will grow but the number of coins is a factor too. Still we won't be able to know what's lies ahead but for me I'm gonna go with etherium and monero.
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Pillar - The Personal Data Locker - 60hr Token sale begins July 15 on: July 09, 2017, 07:45:04 AM
The price for Etherium  is quite low now, and most likely will only grow in the future. Considering that investments in Pillar  can be made in ETH, and the etherprice will be the same throughout the sale, this seems a good project for long therm investment.

True. Same for other ICO. But there are some disadvantages to those who invest when etherium price is high that when etherium price is low. But you can't wait change when is the biggest discount in crowdsale so your are lucky if the crowd sale is on first day and when etherium is high ( but this depends if the price is fixed for example etherium value : 0.90 $ , July 15 9:00 am )
470  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Dreaming Bitcoin on: July 08, 2017, 07:57:46 AM
supposed to after talking others related to bitcoin and progress this to earn much at night while you during sleeptime.

471  Economy / Economics / Re: BITCOIN Flippening GOLD on: July 06, 2017, 04:53:02 AM
Yeah, Bitcoin value is twice the value gold ounce, so investing in bitcoin might be a better idea after all

Gold always have what we call material value. They praised golds value not because it might be the next reserve but the very definition of its build itself. Considered as one of the finest materials known to human, it became one of the worlds reserve. When the computer technology is introduced, digital technology made its name
Bitcoin have successfully surpassed golds price in terms of 1 BTC = 1 onze of gold. Even if im into bitcoin when I have a lot of money I would still buy gold. Bitcoin might be more valuable than gold but in terms of material value, for me golds hands down.
472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Criminality and Bitcoin on: June 30, 2017, 04:40:51 AM
What??? Come one you can't blame Bitcoin for all of the criminal activity. Many other factors would have affected the number of crime. I mean how could Bitcoin have affected all of these crimes? It is not plausible. But you must remember that even good things can be abused for a crime.

True.
Of course the wrongs of the world is clear but we must instill in our minds that the individuals itself is responsible for that bad things. Bitcoin has no mind to tell if ut is right or wrong, the problem don't lie on whether it is digital or fiat, things are not the one to blame but the people who uses it. We humans must put up a stand on our own immorality.
473  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: June 30, 2017, 02:38:05 AM
We save, basically, because we can't predict the future. Saving money can help you become financially secure and provide a safety net in case of an emergency. Here are a few reasons why we save: ... You will need money set aside for these emergencies to avoid going into debt to pay for your necessities and also we save money because of our family needs.

Very well said here. You need a proper allocation in investment and savings, you won't know what will happen in an instant and you won't know when will you are going to need a money. That's also one of the reasons in average families why they are no investment because they are just surviving day by day through savings and that savings is enough for just a whole month and when a salary came again they will save a little amount but it's just for extra payments, and even if they want to invest they don't have something to invest. Sad but almost everyones family is just making ends meet. That's why we need to work wiser not just harder to have some extra income.
474  Other / Off-topic / Re: Young people should go all in on bitcoin on: June 30, 2017, 01:29:38 AM
I'm in my 20s and I live with my family.

In my country it's uncommon for direct relatives to live so far apart. We tend to stick together to battle out the hard times.

This has enabled me to meddle with bitcoin without a huge obligation to pay for bills or rent. Though I still contribute a fifth for electricity and water. So I agree with the poster - IF you're young, unmarried, without children, and other circumstances support it, go for bitcoin. It will be allot easier for you without the pressure.

True. It's always better to hold hands and stick together, and when we are getting old, bonding up with your love ones is a price thing.

Well the only interference in being a full time bitcoiner as a young age is your education, especially when you are in the hard course (e.g. engineering ). Sometimes you have to really budget your time and sometimes when finals and midterm comes you have to sacrifice almost two weeks of doing campaign just to review. Well I'm just an average when it comes to school, I don't know about other people, if they can handle working here and being a student at the same time with ease, well good for them. What I'm trying to say is yup we're earning here but don't forget the education and fun in our younger years. Life is not about money.
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on 7news on: June 29, 2017, 10:45:23 AM
So I was sitting in my bedroom last night and watching the afternoon news. I was surprised when they said Bitcoin. It immediately grabbed my attention. I heard that a new chain of Bitcoin ATMs was being dispatched all over Sydney. They went on to talk as to what Bitcoin was and its advantages over fiat. They even included the price of Bitcoin and its price growth.

7news claims to be the most watched news in Australia. I don't totally believe that, but I know that many people, including my friends, watch it. Bitcoin has finally got mainstream media attention. This is great news!

Bitcoins popularity is spreading like wildfire. Not just btc, almost every week new ICO is being introduced that's why they are calling it The ICO year. Even my classmates that once don't have an interest in Bitcoin has been asking how much I had because I might be very rich, that's funny cause btc is hard to earn. If it goes something like this and many countries are open in legalizing btc then its price will soar to even 100k $.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If today was your last day, would you gamble everything? on: June 29, 2017, 09:41:36 AM
So, I heard the song from Nickelback titled "if today was your last day?"

I thought if today was my last day, would I gamble everything since I wouldn't have any use for this money when I die.

My answer was no at the time. Because I was thinking about my family, especially my kid. What would he eat tomorrow, if I lose everything? Then again, what if I win from just one yolo bet? Like bet every penny I have in one bet. What if I win that and give my kid twice what I could give.

What do you guys think?

Same here. Let's say I have a 5 million dollars in the bank, and have some real states, I think I would choose to properly announce the shifting of properties to my love ones if this is my last day, at the same time have bonds with them for the very last time. Sadly, time and life is the one that really matters, you don't have everything if you don't have that two, so if I have some properties I would prefer to give it all to them and cherish the memories till it last.
478  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the fair value of a currency? on: June 29, 2017, 08:20:49 AM
Hello,

May I share wit you an article I have published that explains the Currencies Fair Value rational model I've been working on. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful. You may also download it in PDF format, the link is at the end of the article:

https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@pablomp/cryptocurrencies-what-is-the-fair-value-of-a-currency

Please, feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

 Smiley

In my opinion I think it depends if the value of the currency can afford the basic necessities of a person. For example you have a salary ranging 30 $ per day. It doesn't matter how much $ you have but it matters how much can you buy with 30 dollars with an excess for future needs. If you have some degree and have a decent job but can't afford your needs for a month then I think the economy of your country is low, meaning the value of your currency is not enough.
479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tipping homeless people with Bitcoin paper wallets on: June 29, 2017, 07:37:38 AM
ok so if a whale hands out Bitcoin paper wallets to homeless people
would they know how to redeem and use the money or hold the bitcoin?
would they learn it?
maybe some of them would become bitcoiners or even programmers and valuable to the ecosystem

who wants to join me doing this

we need people in the usa, where there are the most homeless people on the planet, who are whales and want to help the cause handing out some paper wallets on a daily basis

Well I think if they don't have some proper knowledge or even education, the paper wallet will be just a waste and Bitcoin will be lost. What I'm trying to say is this people ( especially who grew up homeless, don't even go to school or don't even have an experience using the internet so I guess it's better to hand out some real money to them or ask them if they are good at programming or motivate them and show them how a paper wallet can turn into cash and tell him that if you learn programming you might be able to earn something like this, I bet that some of them is willing to learn if they really want to have a shelter.
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people are asking you about Bitcoin now? on: June 26, 2017, 02:25:39 AM
All my friends know what bitcoin is. Some do business with bitcoin, some just heard what bitcoin is

Good for you. My classmates don't believe in the potential of cryptocurrencies, without even proper research they're just laughed and told me that it is a scam. Many people here is beginning to think what lies ahead and what business they will make before cryptocurrencies go to major cities and become the major cryptocurrency. Some are just silently working in the shadows because they don't let people know that they are earning a lot of money in cryptocurrencies. We have our own way, some people just ask to mock you, some are investigating and some are watching how it will turn out. My favorite is the one who put a shoulder on you and said let's do this shall we?
