I'd be careful with Wholesaler fellas. He's using escrow through bitmit, but it's possible you may receive a box of bricks with tracking. The origin of his cards seems to be different in multiple posts and the 690 I asked for more pictures of was "sold on craigslist" before he could post any pics. He's already threatened another member after backing out on a 680 deal when he missed the shipping deadline. Wholesaler, it's safe to say you are going to need to ship first to earn trust on the forums...

Yeah, no one else bid on the chip, he just doesn't want to sell it. Thanks for the heads up.

Also, deals fell through.

In light of the litecoin bubble, I'm now offering $295 shipped to 60190 for reference 7970's if they are nice.

Working on a deal with AndrewK for a 7970. Will update with more details to make it all public.

Also, Wholesaler, I bid on, and won that 3570k, but I haven't been given any way to pay... Not sure what's going on there, but since bids are expected to be paid when an item is won, I should be able to buy it when the auction ends.

To the top!

I switched over, but I'm still trying with cgminer. It seems to be working a bit better, but we'll see.

So I've gotten all the settings figured out, and according to the hardware comparison chart, my two gpus are right around where they should be. But when I actually get to mining, I find that I don't get nearly the rewards I should when compared to my displayed hashrate and the calculated rewards. I also noticed that the "my account" page for the pools I mine at never displays more than ~1/6th my local hashrate. I'm not sure what's going on, but I just sat and watched cgminer for a few minutes and noticed for about a minute, there was a "an error communicating with pool 0, work submissions are being cached." During this time, my local hashrate drops to ~ 10khash/sec, and the work just stops. I would assume this communication error is causing the low hashrates and rewards, but why is that error happening? I've got a good internet connection (25 own, 15 up), and I've never had issues when I mined bitcoins.

For anyone interested, running cgminer 2.11.2 on windows 7 64 bit. Amd Phenom II dual core and 4gb of ram. The mining cards are a 5850 and a 5830. Both are attached with 1x<->1x extenders.

I would greatly appreciate any and all input on this issue. Thanks in advance! If I get it working properly, I will tip in LTC! Smiley

-Chance

Edit for an update: Mining at litecoinpool.org, the stats on my miner have leveled out. Reporting 120khash/sec and my local is ~590-600khash. So I'm really losing out right now. Sad

307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alert: chain fork caused by pre-0.8 clients dealing badly with large blocks on: March 12, 2013, 03:03:37 AM
Does anyone have an idea when the next bitcoin version will be announced, so that this can all be behind us?
308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alert: chain fork caused by pre-0.8 clients dealing badly with large blocks on: March 12, 2013, 02:49:46 AM
Any idea what version eligius is on?
0.6.0

Deepbit is 0.3.21 IIRC

Thank you for the update!
309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alert: chain fork caused by pre-0.8 clients dealing badly with large blocks on: March 12, 2013, 02:16:41 AM
And why are we downgrading and not pushing 0.8 fork if bug is in 0.7 ?

I'm also wondering this. I'll upgrade right now if that will help fix the issue.
310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alert: chain fork caused by pre-0.8 clients dealing badly with large blocks on: March 12, 2013, 02:13:23 AM
I stand corrected. I thought there were more than 10k nodes worldwide.

Edit: On a side note, that's pretty unsettling. This currency is supposed to play a world-wide role and only 10k computers have the bitcoin program running?  Undecided

PANIC SELL!!

Price has just dropped to $30...

Im buying at $29  Cool

On which exchange?

He's bullshitting. There really isn't a big issue. In fact, I usually don't upgrade my software until there are other versions out after the one I upgrade to, so that I can avoid any issues like this. So everyone just relax.

The issue isn't with 0.8, it's with 0.7 and lower. Because people like you didn't upgrade, we had to endure this chain fork.

Yep, my 600mhash is really fucking the network.

No raindrop takes responsibility for the flood, they say. ;3

Sad but true.

If all the pools, miners, merchants, and users upgraded, this would have been a non-issue.

And that is true. But I am on 0.7.2, and like I said in my post, I refuse to upgrade software to 0.8 until something newer comes out, or unless my transactions will cease to work properly because I'm on 0.7.2. Trying to pin this on me is comical at best. There are hundreds of thousands of users who haven't even upgraded to 0.7.2, not to mention the ones who haven't upgraded to 0.8. So I am the least of your troubles.

Hmmm, that's a good batch for 3770k's. I wonder if the same luck comes with 3570k's. Good luck selling.
317  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB 7970 or GTX 680 / WTS non working 7970 on: March 11, 2013, 04:01:20 AM
I can't tell too much from them, but I'll say no thanks. I was expecting some obvious SMD damage that would have been easy to fix, but that seems like it will be more troubleshooting than necessary. Thanks for the pictures though!

Any updates on the 7970?

Yeah, subzero on the cpu's as well. For the 3570k's, I'm only interested if they are L211B226.
