A lot of people seem to forget CannabisCoin used to be mineable via the Scrypt algorithm when it originally launched. However, as some issues arose, the developers thought better of it and switched over to the X11 algorithm instead. As a result of this, an entire new blockchain had to be created, on which they pre-mined a block containing all of the coins in existence on the Scrypt chain. These coins would then be distributed to their rightful owners once the switch to X11 was completed. However, it seems a lot of people never actually claimed their coins , and as a result, we now have 14.628 million coins that are sitting in 25 different wallets. These funds haven’t been touched in over four months either. In order to solve the issue, DeltaNine announced these 14.628 million CANN will be destroyed through Proof-of-Burn (sending the coins to an invalid address). The whole “burning” of the coins will be recorded on a GoPro camera, and there are talks about livestreaming it as well."

I appreciate the honest and looked over your past postings and you did warn everyone, wish I'd heeded it sooner.
I will chime though I disagree that no alt can ever hope to become long-term successful. The problem is we are stuck in the shitcoin paradigm where, like you said, a small core of elite traders control everything and most alts exist just to pump and dump for BTC. CANN is one of the few ones with a real-world business plan and money backing it's concept, not just the acts of a "hard working" dev in a basement and a small forum community. What any cryptocurrency needs, and that includes Bitcoin, to survive is outside investment from non-crypto enthusiasts.
You mentioned your team had 40 BTC to play around with? Imagine if someone came in with 400 BTC to play with. Most of the so-called whales in the alt scene would be crushed by even the smallest of venture capitalists.
Now will I declare CANN is going to go to parity? No. And if it does it may be awhile. But when you consider alot of OTC marijuana stocks routinely reach market caps of 50-100 million or more, there is no good reason it can't itself. At the very least getting to a dollar first would be a monumental event that would give the currency some credibility, if the dev has to reprice it as 3 grams per 1 CANN then maybe that is what needs to be done, but I do not think there is absolutely no way it can ever hope to be a profitable business venture.
As long as the market is just made up of IRC nerds, then yes the coin will pump and dump to oblivion. But if it can draw in thousands of new investors, it stands a good chance.
Solid sorry if I didn't articulate myself right. I just meant, or said that successful Alts are rare compared to the number released. And agreed, we have more than 40 in holdings, by far, but it's diversified. Never put all your coins in one place. And yes, there are whales much much bigger than us. I certainly wish the coin luck. I’m pretty new to this world so apologies for my ignorance. I heard about Cannabis Coin on Twitter and after reading through the threads I decided to buy yesterday.
I went through the lengthy process of buying a Bitcoin and used Bittrex to buy 7000 CANN.
The price today has fallen dramatically, and it looks like from what I’ve read, I’m a victim of a pump and dump?
I don’t understand any of this, nor do I wish to, I just hate that I’ve been manipulated. Is this what Crypto currency is about then? Rather Sad.
Clasically a pump and dump is when a large holder(or rich manipulator) drives up the price of a coin by buying large amounts. Once the price takes off a little they sell their holdings at a profit and drive the price down. Some may accumulate more from the wreckage, others may keep the profits and move on. This is irrelevant for CANN and here is why... Cryptocurrency have fallen prey to it in the past because they have no backing, no true, intrinsic value. PnD's only work in a limited market such as isolated cryptos, if you bring in enough 'outside money' such as from cannabis related VC's then the whales won't be able to do a thing. Commodity backed currencies are new and just figuring out how they work, our society is so divorced from 'backed' money that most people don't even understand it. Back in the day money used to be nothing more than receipts/vouchers for gold, now we can make our own money and use a consumable commodity which in many was is actually better. Most people on this thread do not really grasp the finer points of the legal marijuana trade or how backed currencies function. Sure when you back your currency with X amount of gold you need to have that same x amount gold held. If you back it with a consumable product you just need to be able to keep up with demand which at the moment is fairly low. Stoners are creative and will do anything for cheaper bud, CANN will inevitably rise through people buying in with outside money(IE not 'whales') and many people hodling. People were hoping to make huge profits overnight but that was fairly unreasonable anyway. The fact is that 1 Cann = 1g of bud, given a long enough time frame the value will rise. Personally I think this is the time to get some donations to med patients set up, some sort of CANN fund. Imagine being able to say that you donated KILOS to poor med patients. That will not be possible in a few months or years. Psilent I agree and thank it's a good idea I just am not financially able to but would love to help in any way I can. Crypto is crazy market..always invest what you can afford to lose. Either way..CANN would be up in no time. don't worry. We're all holding it and buying it whenever we see an opportunity. |

didnt you buy it to get some weed.. now yur just greedy I'm in Europe, thought something like this could eventually spread to Amsterdam, so yes, I did buy for weed but didn't expect the money I invested to disappear it disappears only if you sell. You sell you lose and manipulators win...they sell it later for more price. Don't give in. Hold it. |
