2341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin (XPY) is scam on: January 02, 2015, 09:06:33 PM
You honestly thought paycoin was legit ?

personally, I don't care. What I do know is that it'll get pumped few times a month.  Grin

Josh whole career depends on this and if it fails he'll lose lot of customers. So far I haven't seen many people on hashtalk leave YET. So, I think he'll do everything he can to make it work
2342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much has GAW/Josh stand to make from Paycoin? on: January 02, 2015, 09:00:27 PM
They've been a fraud long before Paycoin. Many trusted members tried warning people. Reap what you sow and all that

Many of those statements are just that "statements". Josh runs a well known website and if any of those "trusted" members had enough proof they would do crypto a favor and file a lawsuit to bring it down but I think majority of statements in crypto are personal statements rather than absolute truth.

Why would we sue something we are smart enough not to get involved in? Herp derp

If you aren't involved in something your statements will ALWAYS be biased one way or the other.
2343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin (XPY) is scam on: January 02, 2015, 08:52:11 PM
If it only takes 100k then why is Josh not supporting the $20 wall? Apparently 'private investors and companies' have pushed a ridiculous amount of $ into XPY and this was said to be used to support the market as well as other happenings. This was a bait and switch, my friend. Except this time, you had to go pick your own switch straight off the whipping willow.

because people will start dumping or may be he is accumulating so price can be more stable at $20 with less people selling. It also happened during 31st so lot of people sold at loss so they could claim it on their tax return..I won't be surprised if they come back and price goes back to .04+.
2344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin (XPY) is scam on: January 02, 2015, 08:39:22 PM
To all GAW fans, please think about/answer for yourself these questions.
1)
The purpose of this coin and what makes it different is that it will have a stable price so that merchants accept it.
The price was to be $20 with some fluctuations.
Right now the price is less than $6, more like $5.50, and still falling.
Sounds like it is fluctuating like every other virtual currency.
Do you think merchants will adapt that?

2)
Where are the announcements from the merchants?
All the positive announcements are from GAW/Josh, none from Amazon, Target, Newegg, etc.
The announcement from Amazon is that they are not working with anyone to adapt paycoin.

3)
Why can hashtalk not take legitimate questions and concerns?
I was silent banned for posting the terms and conditions that everyone agreed to.
I did this in response to questions about the guaranteed $20 price and payout rate of the stakers.
The T&C clearly state the value is NOT guaranteed, neither is the rate.
I didn't call anyone names, simply cut and pasted their T&Cs.

4)
A daily return rate guaranteed at 0.972% daily, that is 174% over 6 months, not compounding.
Can you find that anywhere in the real world?

5)
Why can't we resell the very rare hashstakers?

Just so you know I own hashstakers, I mined XPY during POW, I have sold on Cryptsy for 0.0668 BTC.
I believe it is a scam, but early in and early out on a Ponzi and you can make money.
I figured he had to keep it going for at least 6 months, the first round, so that is why I played.
Now I don't think it will make 6 days.

I'm not sour, I did all this while telling everyone I know I was investing in a Ponzi scheme.

The only things that have surprised me so far are:
How fast things are falling apart, I expected months not days.
I expected he would have allowed the sale of hashstaker on his market since he collect 10% per sale.

Price falls because of Fuds. It has nothing to do with what is being delivered or promised. I have seen it happen to every single coin..whether it's a scam or not is out of a question and that is something that can be decided once few months are over.

Even if it's a scam they can milk money out of it for months before letting it die. Saying that it's dead after few days is plain naive OR may be I'm being naive here. lol.

We'll see. I'm pretty pissed at myself for buying it 0.025 but it'll be stupid to judge it and say it's dead. It only takes $100k to bring price to 0.06 so it's not something that's impossible. It'll take time for sure or may be not.
2345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Paycoin failed on: January 02, 2015, 08:23:45 PM

Look at that font mind. I have seen that font used for websites from other scams (BitSwift).

Best proof I've seen so far
I was only saying, not as use for proof - but because I struggle to see why any project that has a marketcap of $90mil would be using such a plain font. It just doesn't add up in my mind.

It's in beta. Look at coinbase ..it doesn't look much different from paybase
2346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin (XPY) is scam on: January 02, 2015, 08:21:46 PM

Oh come on now, I think if Josh Garza turned out to be Jesus Christ himself you'd find a Thread on Bitcointalk saying Jesus cured a blind man!! SCAM!  Grin

Being skeptical is good, especially with the prevalence of heists and scams in our ecosystem. Raise your standards and don't follow dangerous people whether they be that jesus guy or Josh.

Notice how you try and make a joke and dodge all the critical and important issues.... really funny , right? There goes their life's savings , their children's college fund, ... hehehhe... Roll Eyes

As to the post about the Miami Conference that you linked! surely the grown up thing to do would be to actively attend the conference and talk to the GAW staff yourself I'm sure they will be answering questions so why not ask those difficult question in person rather then avoid the Conference entirely? (smacks of cutting your nose off to spite your face).

No, it is far past that point and Josh has a lot of answering to be done to the community before we give him any bit of respect and show up at the conference. Don't try to pretend that he doesn't have the minute of time to vindicate himself with the question above because he wastes just as much time if not more than his critics on social platforms and his forums spreading propaganda.

Why don't they provide evidence to shut us up and show they weren't fractional reserve mining (running a ponzi)? I would be overjoyed to be proven wrong.

Point 1: why are people investing their life savings in a company less then a year old? Invest what you can afford to loose if you think something has potential (common sense?)

Point 1: Why are people investing their children's college funds in a year old company (these parents clearly have no respect for their children?) Invest what you can afford to loose if you think something has potential (common sense?)

Point 2: Its not showing respect its getting your questions answered by getting of your arse's and getting them answered, and what better place to do that then a Conference where I'm sure they will be taking questions in front of the audience. No of course not, its far easier to type an article or 2 and start a few threads on some forums.

It's easier to eat pizza while writing a few posts about how such & such is scam and how such & such should go down. I think that's not the issue with just crypto but whole country. People don't want to help they want to cry just for the sake of crying.

2348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Paycoin failed on: January 02, 2015, 08:09:03 PM
Paycoin hasn't failed yet as a coin. It failed some almost every one of the expectations, as it was supposed to trade much higher and be integrated faster.
I think the main problems were the delays with paybase launch and the bugs it had, the massive security breach, the false promises, the hype with no substance, the fact their plugin cannot even work and breaks the TOS of retailers so if it starts to work it will be shutdown, the multiple last minute hardforks and general technical incompetence of GAW, the 350% inflation rate for select investors who likely are all or mostly GAW controlled, the sites crashing multiple times, the lack of price stability (-60% in 2 days?), the lack of merchant acceptance, the centralized nature of this currency, ect...

patience my friend. It's not easy to stabilize a price at $20 when so many people are selling. Only time will tell the rest. Come back in few months or two and that'll be a better time to judge a coin. I don't care if it's a scam but I personally hate it when price dumps and people start running around calling it scam. Stop being so impatient.

What do you think of these..

i like the middle one:)

PS to all the guys giving input why your using Ebay colours?
don't we want our OWN!! image?

We stole Bit from Bitcoin
and Bay from Ebay

so putting their color together makes sense. I think someone mentioned psychological benefit of using ebay color. It looks friendly and people are familiar with those colors. It could be beneficial.  Grin. Even original logo had blue & white (facebook color). I think there is scientific study behind it. People get more attracted to colors they're familiar with.

2354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Paycoin failed on: January 02, 2015, 08:14:49 AM
Paycoin made a name for itself in few days. I can't think of any coin that has done it in such short time. Call it ponzi, call it scam or whatever you want but it has achieved what all crypto can only wish for in such short amount of time.
'

Yeah especially since they had so little to work with, you know with it being made by a multi-million dollar company and all.

Rich guy wins. Always. I don't think it's done YET. I think they're trying to turn it into "lifetime" income and you'll see few more p&d during January before price becomes stable.  Cheesy

Paybase full release would bring price back to $15
2355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the most you have lost in one coin? on: January 02, 2015, 08:08:47 AM
80 BTC during CANN dump. I was away on vacation during dump and forgot to put stop loss. Bingo!

I think under 100 sats would be a decent buy price

I've been monitoring market for 2 days and it seems like only handful of people sold under 300. Last 5 buy orders were at 590.

Depends on the adoption.
