3021  Economy / Speculation / Re: is there any chance to BTC value go down? on: August 14, 2017, 05:34:43 AM
it depends on what you mean by "going down".
if you mean something like dropping to a very low price like $10 or zero then the chances are too small that we consider them as zero chance.

if by going down you mean something like back to $2000 then the chances are still small enough to be ignored.

but if you mean something like going down back to $3500 then yes, that is possible and as always that is just a correction, a temporary dip if you will, and then back to normal again. that is the dynamic of the market. price goes up and down forever, it can not stay the same price.
but in case of bitcoin the total of these ups and downs is always up (meaning the down is always much smaller).

The biggest misconception about cryptocurrency is that it’s just a passing trend,

i don't really think this is the "biggest misconception" about cryptocurrency !
there are a lot of misconceptions, from ponzi scheme to pump and dumps but people either don't understand bitcoin so they stay away because they see the wild price swings and are scared, or they understand it and invest and enjoy the new world's technology.
neither of these groups think it is a "passing trend" though.
3023  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▂▃▅▆█ BITSLER █▆▅▃▂🎁 LOTTERY 🎁Most Popular Dice & Roulette🎁 on: August 14, 2017, 05:18:49 AM
Maybe this question would be asked but I don't know answer on this.
For example if I want to withdraw 10 bitcoin, bitsler has maximum fee 0.0006btc, so I think currently that is really low. If I decide to withdraw that amount, will bitsler automatically pay itself more fee and I receive confirmations as usual or do I have to split coins and withdraw, for example 2btc, then 2btc agan and so..?

it is weird to say this but you know bitcoin fees are based on transaction size in bytes not in how much bitcoin you are transferring!
this means it doesn't matter if you withdraw 0.01BTC or 100BTC in both cases the fee can be the same. and depending on how many outputs their system chooses to use if your payment the fee they pay can be different. but you still pay the same amount of fee.
for example you pay 0.0006BTC fee but since the tx is big, bitsler pays 0.005BTC in the transaction to get the high priority that you asked for.
3024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is outperforming everything and Japan is the lead on: August 13, 2017, 06:51:49 AM
46 percent? That's an insane amount of volume they're pushing through their exchanges, what in the hell is pushing that kind of demand within Japan? Is it just speculation or is the Bitcoin economy really that alive within the asian island?

46% is too small, it should be at least 70% Grin
have you forgotten that Japan is the first and biggest country that has officially adopted bitcoin?
i dare say it is the only country that has legally announced bitcoin is a "legal method of payment". that alone shoots the adoption and consequently the volume and price high.

on top of it all, Japan has the biggest Forex broker in the whole world according to statistics of last year. that Forex broker has added bitcoin to their platform.
read about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1941988.0
3 months ago i speculated this will have a huge effect on bitcoin price.

Does that mean Japan has the most owned bitcoins all over the world? If it's true then it will make their country more richer. This is a big step and smart choice at the same time.

well, higher volume only means there is a lot of trades on their exchanges. that is what the source reports. that doesn't necessarily mean the people in Japan "own" more bitcoin.

but also at the same time, as i said above the fact that this country has legalized bitcoin as a "legal method of payment" and also using bitcoin as payment has 0 taxes means a lot of people will buy and own bitcoin just to use it as payment. and there are already about 300,000 merchants there reported to be accepting bitcoin, tax free. that is a big distribution of bitcoin over the country. and helps the growth a lot.
3025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL BE THE TOP 3 COINS THIS YEAR? on: August 13, 2017, 06:40:42 AM
WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL BE THE TOP 3 COINS THIS YEAR?

top 3 based on what?
there are so many factors that can change what stays on top of an imaginary list. for example based on market cap there are a couple of shitcoins on top. coins such as Ripple are far away in the #1 position in that list right now. and they are followed by others like ethereum.

based on volume?
the daily volume fluctuates a lot and sometimes some random coins come up. but if you look at it over longer term you can see bitcoin is #1 and then with a huge difference come the rest of them.

based on price?
it should be long term price, how it changes and how stable each rise is.
again bitcoin will be #1 followed by a big difference by other altcoins like Byteball

based on real world application aka being a currency?
that list is very short: #1 bitcoin. #2 litecoin #3 Monero

3027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is a good time to invest in altcoins? on: August 13, 2017, 06:29:59 AM
However im seeing that bitcoin is still increasing in price, should I wait until bitcoin price stabilizes until investing?

And one thing I didn't consider was that should I keep some bitcoin in the end instead of investing all in altcoins?

here is what i have been doing all these years:
i have invested my money in bitcoin a couple of years ago when price of bitcoin was about $200 and kept it. then each month of generally whenever i get some extra cash, i invest that in bitcoin too no matter what the price is. i just bought some last week.

now from that amount i have dedicated a certain amount for trading altcoins. that amount was chosen based on what i feel safest with. it doesn't matter how much it is, the important thing to remember is to choose a number that you feel safe. and then start trading altcoins with that. and the rest is always in bitcoin and will be held in cold storage for long term.

i have been happy with this strategy and i am earning well enough to be satisfied.
3028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin to $4000 = altcoin market crash on: August 13, 2017, 05:57:47 AM
this is what has happened so far to altcoin market,
- bitcoin goes up ---> altcoins drop
- bitcoin dumps ----> altcoins get dumped harder.
it is the dynamic of the market. although there are exceptions too.

in any case i have found out that altcoin market is only good for certain period of times.
- when bitcoin is stable and boring
- when there is a lot of FUD about bitcoin and how it is going to die Smiley
and we have seen and also exhausted both these options to pump altcoins this year.

Sell it as bit coin or buy tether and wait it out.

this is a terrible advise on so many different levels.
first because bitcoin is rising and the rally is just starting and it is pretty strong!!
and also because tether is not exactly the best option you can rely on.
3029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin be denominated as mBTC? on: August 13, 2017, 05:28:49 AM
it can happen but the problem is with the unit that we choose. it needs to be universal and everyone needs to understand it and it also needs to be different so people won't make mistakes.

mili and micro are good but they also have the problem that many don't know what they mean. i don't know why, maybe it is because different system of measurements or not being familiar with the measurements prefixes but it is a common thing when people ask what is "mBTC" for example.
3030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't regret take action now! on: August 12, 2017, 05:58:54 AM
Changes are still very high in cryptocurrency! With the right attitude and creativity you can still become a millonair! But you have to grab your changes now because regulation will make it more difficult!

this way of thinking is actually the main reason why people are losing a lot of money in altcoin market. they think they can become rich if they invest in altcoins that are new, ICOs that have just came out and are low, or worst group who invest in altcoins after they got pumped.

all of these people end up gambling with their money instead of becoming an investor and that means they lost more than they ever earn. in the end the total matters. if you make 10BTC profit but lose 50BTC you have been killing yourself.
3031  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price correction, When? on: August 12, 2017, 05:46:27 AM
the question you should be answering first is "why are you looking for a correction?"
your question right now makes no sense. if you want to buy just buy and sell before the correction, waiting for something that may not happen for another $400 rise is absurd. you are just wasting your time while missing out on the rise.

and it is bitcoin we are talking about, which means even if you buy at a bad time, you just hold it and the price comes right back up!
3032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Stuck coins on Yobit running list on: August 12, 2017, 05:37:23 AM
the list of dead Yobit wallets does not fit in one comment on this forum. they have a huge number of altcoins and about 90% of them don't even have a running wallet. and some of them don't even have a blockchain anymore because they are long dead and nobody mines them anymore!

you should really stay away from Yobit but in case you had no other choice at least check the wallet's status first. go to your account and in your wallet page click on withdraw or deposit, it will tell you the wallet is in maintenance for most of them so you can be 100% sure it is dead.
if it didn't say that, first deposit a small amount to test then deposit the rest.
3033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Balance of Power on: August 12, 2017, 05:30:54 AM
You could buy into Bitcoin Cash now and capitalize on the future success and avoid leaving yourself exposed to just Bitcoin!
yes but as long as you acknowledge the fact that if you invest you may as well lose a huge portion of your investment.
it is the same as investing in an altcoin which is in a bubble.

I love hearing everyone say "it's trash, sell! sell!" and then watch it stay pretty stable in price. Any regrets?
how many people do you actually know that dumped for real? and do you know why they haven't done it yet?
if the reason is because they believe in BCH, they you are correct in your first regard.

but if the reason is because they are scared of losing BTC,
or they are unable to dump it because they don't know how,
or they haven't gotten around to doing it because they have no account on any exchange that accepts BCH,
or they want to dump at its ATH not at the bottom (like all the altcoin bagholders do),
or generally reasons like that, then your first regard is false.

now look around and see which reason is truer.
3034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of BTC on: August 12, 2017, 05:24:12 AM
After the new record of BTC price I'm really confused, It increased about $1k in less than 1 month which seems suspicious.

there is nothing "suspicious" about the rise. it is just uncommon which is why you are confused. but think of it as something that people never knew about but they are finding out about it recently and rushing to buy. it is global so if a small number of people from each country in the world start buying it, price goes up like this.

also remember that it is just a 30% rise!!

Quote
I'm thinking of investing some money on BTC and hold them for at least 3 years or more.
But is it a good idea?
well yeah. many believe price will be $500,000 to 1 million. it can go that high too.
and the cap or in other words maximum number of coins that will ever be created is limited. it is not like fiat such as USD which they print as they like.

fixed supply + increasing demand = rising price

Quote
have any of you made good profit with holding BTC?
the answer to this question is obvious!
just look at the price, anyone who bought at any price in the past 8.5 years and held is now in profit. some bigger than others.

Quote
Like tell me what do you think of the future of BTC rates, how high could it reach?
it is impossible to tell. bitcoin is still an experiment but it is a very successful one which is only succeeding and growing as time goes by.
3035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Paying 100$ in BTC for helping me to recover BCH from Electrum private keys on: August 10, 2017, 06:11:15 AM
i'm sorry i couldn't find anything more on this. everything ends up with needing to have the seed in order to recover all the master private keys (xpriv).
there is a contact link for TrustedCoin you can use to ask for their help, maybe they can do something.
https://api.trustedcoin.com/#/contact-us

or ask a question in electrum board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=98.0 regarding how to recover your funds in a 2FA wallet in case you lost Seed/2FA (that is the similar problem).
3036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: keep calm and buy the dips... on: August 10, 2017, 05:51:24 AM
But the price dipped $200 from the $3500, to $3200.

You may try to sell in the high and buy in the dips, if you want.

not if you want but if you know what you are doing. wanting is not enough. i want to be a millionaire but i don't know how to become one Cheesy
for selling on top and buying back you need to know a thing or two about trading, otherwise you are just wasting precious money and you end up with less bitcoin than you had before.

buying in the dips is different though, for example many of us invest in bitcoin every once in a while when we get some extra money for investment. like each month. and by that time it is best to buy it in the dip before the rise starts again.
3037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Paying 100$ in BTC for helping me to recover BCH from Electrum private keys on: August 09, 2017, 06:12:54 AM
Hi, thanks for the reply.
Everything is synced and connected to the right nodes, I triple-checked.
Also as I mentioned in the OP, I don't have access to my seed right now. So trying to find some other ways to get my BCH.

in that case do the following:
1. (only if your wallet has a password):
* from menu go to "Wallet -> Password
* enter your current password and leave the next 2 boxes empty to remove the password.
* confirm the warning saying "wallet is not encrypted"
2. find your wallet file
http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#where-is-my-wallet-file-located
3. open it in a text editor and scroll down all the way to the end, you'll see this (a test wallet i just made, .... are what i cut for bravity):
Code:
.....
    "use_encryption": false,
    "use_trustedcoin": true,
    "wallet_type": "2fa",
    "x1/": {
        "type": "bip32",
        "xprv": "xprv9vXHvauNj5JUWb.....",
        "xpub": "xpub69WeL6S...."
    },
    "x2/": {
        "type": "bip32",
        "xprv": null,
        "xpub": "xpub69WeL6SGZ...."
    },
    "x3/": {
        "type": "bip32",
        "xprv": null,
        "xpub": "xpub661MyMw...."
    }
}

4. now you see your private keys. copy the following:
from "x1/" copy "xprv" (for example copy the xprv9vXHvauNj5JUWb.....)
from "x2/" copy "xprv"
from "x3/" copy "xpub"

5. go to your electron cash wallet and do the following:
* from menu New > Restore
* choose "Multisignature wallet"
* choose "from 3 cosigners" and "require 2 signature"
* choose "Use public or private key"
* enter first xprv.... here
* next
* choose "enter cosigner key"
* enter second xpriv... here
* choose "enter cosigner key"
* enter final xpub... here
* [optional] give password to wallet

now you have all your keys without need of the TrustedCoin signature...

6. select one of electroncash.casharia... or electrum.abc servers

7. spend funds in electron cash and have fun.
3038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is happening with ETH? on: August 09, 2017, 05:39:17 AM
Is there something behind this up? Any ICO?

I know almost coin is up, but ETH is pumped hard

your definition of "pumped hard" is way off the reality.
ether has gone up about 10-15% and meanwhile there are other shitcoins like ether that went up at least 60% in the same time frame. and that is called "pumped hard".

and there is no need for a reason for ether pump, it just gets pumped and dumped over and over and the manipulators make money from newbies who invest in it. nothing new!
3039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Paying 100$ in BTC for helping me to recover BCH from Electrum private keys on: August 09, 2017, 05:21:12 AM
the reason why wallets show no funds is probably either they are not synced yet with the network (downloaded whole blockchain for full node, or download the whole block headers for electron cash). or it is because they are connecting (wrongfully) to bitcoin nodes instead. try manually changing the node they connect to. for example in electron cash you can do it in the Network settings (shortcut: the circle on the bottom right).

the second problem: "transaction rejected by network" is because of the issue with the 2FA in BCC wallets.
there is a workaround: you restore the wallet from your seed and before the end you check disable 2fa, with the restored wallet you can now send bitcoin cash transactions.

the route to restore in your electron cash:
* get your seed from your electrum wallet
* on electron cash go to File -> New/Restore from menu
* choose restore and choose make 2fa wallet, NOT standard
* enter your seed
* when asked to keep or disable, choose DISABLE
* change the server to electroncash.casharia... or electrum.abc

good luck.

edit: and here is my BTC addy if it worked Cheesy

3040  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am a pro-Core, pro-Segwit small blocker who has a hard decision about BCC on: August 09, 2017, 05:08:45 AM
LOL, your subject has nothing to do with your question, what the hell Grin

kidding aside, if by bitcoincash community you mean the infamous /r/btc then of course they are saying "to da moon". like any other altcoin board says when they are bag holding. and in this case have some additional agenda of take over.

as for price, it is hard to tell. we saw the initial dump from those who were more tech-savvy, or risk-takers who took the risk of installing an untested BCC wallet.
but there is still a huge wave of people who have no idea what to do and how to dump, ... so the risk will always be there as soon as someone introduces an easy to use and safe way of doing it.

my speculation is that the BCC price won't make any major movement for at least a couple of months. near SegWit2x if the core devs continue their denying of block size rise then BCC may have a big pump. specially because miners will switch there without a doubt if they can't get 2 MB blocks here.
