2601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Virus change crypto address on: November 26, 2017, 06:57:57 AM
this is one of the oldest malwares that have been affecting bitcoiners for a very long time. it is not that complicated a malware either. it is a simple clipboard hijack worm that whenever it sees a bitcoin address (which are pretty simple to recognize based on their base58 formatting) it changes it for the hackers address. it is very easy to detect if you just check the first and last couple of characters of your copied bitcoin address.
you can probably find it in your task manager (running apps) and close it, or just install a good antivirus that removes it.
2602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum All Time High on: November 24, 2017, 06:35:23 AM
I think comparing to Bitcoin, ETH isn't still that high. It's just a start of Etherum, the next goal of ETH will be 1k$ soon in the 2018.

they really need to put all their backs into pumping ethereum if they want to reach $1000 or they have to do something serious about the circulating supply which is 96,000,000 ETH compared to 16,000,000 of bitcoin!!!

besides when you pump an altcoin, it is like sending an invitation to everyone holding any tokens to start dumping them. including all these ICO owners who raised millions of funds in the past months who will be waiting for an opportunity to dump their free money and get out.
2603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Like to know how the next difficulty adjustment could be influenced upwards on: November 24, 2017, 06:24:13 AM
At time of this thread.    www.fork.lol suggests next difficulty adjustment in about 18 hours and expected to to be decreased about 2%
2% drop in difficulty is nothing really!

Quote
With a pump in BCH happening it's safe to assume that the assault on BTC is not finished.
it is never finished, it just changed form.

Quote
If they can combine their resources it is a possibility that the BTC transactions could be unconfirmed for an unlimited time.  If difficulty is adjusted upwards in 18 hours then BTC would have a problem.
this doesn't make any sense!
you say that website is predicting difficulty to drop then you say "if it goes up"!

besides if difficulty drops, that means it becomes easier to mine bitcoin. more blocks are going to be found, more blocks mine more transactions, less transactions in the mempool, smaller backlog, and we will have lower fees.
not that it matters though, because it is being "adjusted" to match the hashrate that exists meaning there will be 1 block per 10 minute that is supposed to be mined. and as i said 2% is nothing.
2604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can BTC be blocked by government ? on: November 24, 2017, 06:04:06 AM
first of all since not all the government of the whole world are going to do something like this, bitcoin won't be blocked. in other words there are currently so many countries that have adopted bitcoin with open arms and legalized it that even if some governments decide to block bitcoin it won't matter.

However what would happen if a government decision to implement DPI blocking of Bitcoin protocol?
DPI is only when your packets are encrypted such as when you use VPNs. bitcoin uses no encryption for communication. it is all performed over simple HTTP protocols.
and there are things they can block but they can not block bitcoin usage completely, things like that would only make running a node harder not impossible. and they don't do anything to bitcoin usage. you can always sign your transactions offline and broadcast them by opening a website like this https://blockchain.info/pushtx with a public SSL proxy and pushing it through their service!!! free and easy.

Quote
On top of it exchange could be blocked with a firewall on top of all others kinds of bitcoin forum etc...
exchanges are third parties that  can be blocked, yes. but it would be like blocking a website. you can always use a VPN to access them!!!
2605  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best exchange for crypto-currencys? on: November 23, 2017, 06:57:17 AM
best, safest, low fees, automatic?
all these can only be found in decentralized exchanges. unfortunately i have not found a good one myself.

the centralized ones will lack at least one of these features you are looking for. mainly the safety because they are all risky and there has been too many scam incidents from each one of them that makes them all untrustworthy.

for now you can use services like https://www.shapeshift.io/ if you want a fast way of converting one crypto to another without signing up on an exchange service and be forced to give them your identity documents and also risk them scamming you and running away.
otherwise choose of the exchanges from here: https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/
2606  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin for $1 Million !!! In ten years? on: November 23, 2017, 06:49:49 AM
thanks for sharing this, i have seen a couple of these exponential rise charts before but this one seems to be more interesting with a more accurate function. i wish it was updated until 2017 though.

We're at $8,200.  (If we add Bitcoin Cash and Gold prices, we'll get close to $10k).

you shouldn't add those ever. if you want to add price of other tokens/markets then you have to add the price of all of the altcoins! because they are separate markets no matter what their names are, they may be affected by bitcoin but they will still remain separate.

besides until 10K we have only less than 20% rise and 1 month left. i think it is within tolerance level.
2607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would any of you guys buy Bitcoin Gold or Bitcoin Cash? on: November 22, 2017, 06:45:38 AM
yeah, why not!
i buy BCH and BTG for the same reason i buy ETH, LTC, Doge, XRP and lots of other altcoins. they are always a good source of income or in other words when you look to make more bitcoin, then using these altcoins is the best way of doing so if you know how to work the market.
every single one of these coins gets pumped and dumped, if you can catch the pump part only and stay clear of the dumping part them you can make a lot of money. i just saw bitcoin cash go to 0.5BTC on yobit and BTG go to 0.2BTC there. these are huge profits you can't miss.
2608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Price to Reach $10,000 This Year on: November 22, 2017, 06:37:01 AM
it might reach more than 10k in segwit 2x. this is the best chance to start investing. and altcoin will rise too after that

maybe you missed the biggest news of these last months for some reason but SegWit2x was cancelled and bitcoin price dropped about 30% because of it and then went up to break the $8000 record. and altcoins have been getting dumped ever since.

Do you think bitcoin will reach 10k before this year ends? because i am planning to buy but its price is way higher than last month. is there a possibility the price will still go down? Thank you!

there is always a chance of price going down in short term for whatever reason that we can not predict at this point, so if you want to invest for short term then you are taking a big risk. but if it is long term investment then there is not much to worry about, the chance of price going down in long term is very small.
2609  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is BitFUnix and the Tether dollar USDT about to crash the Bitcoin market? on: November 22, 2017, 06:26:05 AM
Well shit. This happened 2 morning months ago and nothing happens so it looks like all is well. Even with the NYT story breaking the market is unaffected.

the only reason why this topic was created by OP (who is permabanned for spamming but still has alt accounts and spams same bullshit) is because at the time he was trying to short bitcoin and he was losing money as bitcoin price kept going higher. soon after this topic was created price went up another 30% and in a month $2000 was broken. and the rest is history. and all the while OP was saying bitcoin will crash down to $600 again Cheesy

in the end even if tether collapses, bitcoin won't be harmed. maybe 2 weeks to 1 month of downtime with a 20% drop tops happens but that won't be because of USDT, it will be because of FUD and since bitcoin price is not sustained by USDT but with USD, JPY, CNY, RUR, EUR, GBP and those are not collapsing the price of bitcoin will continue on its way.

Where is iamnotback these days? I thought he was another doomsday crackpot who loves spreading FUD in the forum. But in truth some of his thoughts and "theories" have been right.

Does anyone know if he has a blog or a website?
he is still around with different account names spreading the same FUD as ever Cheesy
he is like an intense version of kwukduck
here is one of his many alts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1112762
2610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Cash on coinbase? on: November 22, 2017, 06:13:33 AM
it means that users will be able to purchase BCH on their site like you purchase BCH.

Thanks. Do you mean users will be able to purchase BCH like you can currently purchase BTC?  Smiley

not necessarily but probably.
services like coinbase care more about volume than just adding some new coin to their website. if bitcoin cash can keep the daily trading volume up with USD and shows people are willing to purchase it directly with USD and not just trade it with bitcoin and dump it as soon as it was pumped and then 6-9 months of low volume, then i don't think they are going to add it.
so far the volume went up a lot but didn't last long. that is not enough incentive.
2611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is an altcoin on: November 22, 2017, 06:04:49 AM
if it makes you sleep at night then call bitcoin as an "altcoin" but that will be only you calling bitcoin something that it is not. checking your post history it seems like you love doing that. so there is no point arguing with someone who doesn't want to listen to what everyone else says!
2612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEO Price Crashed? on: November 21, 2017, 07:07:43 AM
whenever an altcoin price rises too fast and it reaches a much higher price compared to its previous (starting) price that means you should be expecting a dump pretty soon after the pump has ended. the higher it goes the harder it will fall because it will be a lot more tokens in hands of panic sellers who will dump on a thin market that will crash the price.

that is exactly what starts to happen to NEO. it was pumped and now the pump is coming to an end and market starts correcting itself pretty soon with big dumps beginning.
although sometimes there is a small trace-back when price goes down a little from a dump before continuing to get pumped but this doesn't see like one for NEO.
2613  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Are Exchanges Slow in Filling Orders? on: November 21, 2017, 06:56:14 AM
all true but in other words the real reason why your order was not filled is because you went against the market!

you say the coin has gone up 400%, that means you were placing low bids on a market that was rising when you should have either bought on the rise meaning placed a market order and bought at the higher ask price or you should have placed your order like you already did and kept increasing it each time it failed to be filled until it is filled completely.
i personally prefer the fist option, to buy at market price. when you see the pump going on you should jump on board as fast as you can, not wait for the orders to be filled below market price, you do that when pump is not yet started.
2614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible for early adopters of BTC to still have upto 50,000 BTC? on: November 21, 2017, 06:37:23 AM
is it possible that some early adopters/investors in Apple, Microsoft, Facebook,... or one of those big corporations with stocks still has a large amount of stocks (like 500,000 shares) and bought it at some low price (like $1) and still is holding it?

the answer is the same as what you are asking here!
some obviously have bought at low prices years ago, some of them sold, some held, some sold some and held some,....

example:
if you bought berkshire hathaway shares back in 1980 when it was worth $200 you could have bought 20 with just $4000
now that is worth $270,000 per share or $5,400,000 for 20. Cheesy
Warren Buffett is the primary shareholder of this thing...
2615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin : 62% of Institutional Investors are Buying or Considering on: November 21, 2017, 06:31:40 AM
most people don't really reveal their investment plans publicly and not even in surveys. and this year changed everything about bitcoin, now people are seeing bitcoin more as a legit and good investment not that usual high risk one that they were afraid of and stayed away. of course this is a slow process of different people finding out about the changes and change their mind about it.
the changes i am talking about are mainly the adoption that has happened like countries that have legalized and adopted bitcoin such as Japan, and other good news like CME bitcoin market. and lots more. all of these change the public view towards bitcoin and removes the "negative view".

i say we are currently in the initial phase when "smart money" is being invested and slowly we are entering the second phase when "public finds out" and then they start getting enthusiastic and buy bitcoin.
2616  Economy / Speculation / Re: Today's (11/20) Sudden Drop on: November 21, 2017, 06:22:49 AM
it was just a temporary drop which was most probably because of some panic sellers acting on the rise above the new ATH and whenever there is a dump like that, it becomes bigger although this wasn't exactly big and didn't last long.

but generally speaking the fluctuation like this which are smaller than 10% are to be expected because the exchanges are still pretty small, a small amount of dump or buy can cause a big change in price since orderbooks are thin. but since the demand is always there, the change is always comes to a balance fast.
2617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin -- Thoughts? (Nov 2017) on: November 20, 2017, 07:29:20 AM
i agree that litecoin is under-priced with all the development that it had this year, even with the huge rise that it already had LTC should really be worth a lot higher than this.

but the issue is that it is being ignored by the investors for the most part. and i believe part of it is because other altcoins have been getting pumped, which means money will go towards them more. and also because of all the ICOs that have been leeching the money from good old markets!

with that said LTC is creeping up nicely though. possibly some whales accumulating it for the upcoming rallies that it may have in near future.
if you want to invest and have a good chance of gaining a good profit, then buy LTC
if you want to make more profit in short term then buy other altcoins that are currently getting pumped 2x-5x in a short time.
2618  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will be worth $100k in under 5 years, and eventually over 375k on: November 20, 2017, 07:13:21 AM
going to $100,000 in 5 years means rising 1150% in 5 years or 230% per year. that sounds about right but only if you assume that bitcoin growth rate is going to go back down to the normal levels of last 3 years which were nearly that much.
otherwise this year price has gone up nearly 700% and the year is not over yet. even if the current rising rate doesn't go higher than this we should expect a much higher than $100k in 5 years, specially since the rise is more like an exponential growth rather than a linear one because of how "adoption boom" is.
2619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why can't I transfer BTG between exchanges right now? on: November 20, 2017, 07:02:13 AM
you really need to ask the exchanges themselves. or check their website the news section or some call it blog, or their twitter handle.

my guess is that since bitcoin gold had some issues in the early release regarding mining and some bugs were encountered regarding that, the exchanges are waiting a while until these bugs are fixed (which they are last time i checked) and then until the network becomes stable, as in reaching a stable higher hashrate and the risks of things such as double spend and a total wipe out of the blocks are reduced or eliminated.
then they will start enabling deposits with high number of confirmation.
2620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash Conspiracy on: November 20, 2017, 06:51:53 AM
first of all predicting bitcoin cash pump and bitcoin price drop was not a hard thing due to SegWit2x drama. even a blind man could tell that. one of the reasons why the price dropped and BCH was pumped like this was because every single bitcoin trader speculated about this.
in other words what you shared and the date on it is not really a big deal.

secondly the author seems like an idiot who is trying so hard to give legitimacy to what he is babbling on with things such as "Certain information has come to light from back room channels". this shows idiocy and deep desperation of someone who thinks others are as idiot as him to take him on his word just because he said he has some secret information!!

just try to ignore people like the author of this crap and try to use your own speculation and analysis of the market. it really isn't that hard to figure out what are the things that make bitcoin tick.
