Whats a pool resistant cpu only coin?
This is the only Pool resistant coin to ever be created. (as far as i'm aware)

You dont know much @e1ghtSpace. This coin is not pool resistant.
Can you please elaborate? I'm genuinely interested.

Now you get to see who really "don't know much".
@e1ghtSpace ,he is stupid guy, just ignore him.

The most stupid thing is to ignore facts and people. I'm a programmer and I speak 7 languages. So im not stupid but maybe my opinion is stupid but then you have to tell me why.

You speak all those languages and can't read a white paper? That's odd!
Agora estou tentando o multipool.us, no qual consegui alguns Zetcoins e Teracoins.

Why the above fact is good:

Because then the coin becomes a lot more scarce, therefore more expensive.

Sorry, but that is untrue! The amount of coins generated is still the same, no matter what the miner is. It becomes more concentrated in the hands of few, not more scarce! And concentration does not increase the value, but also makes it more prone to pump&dump schemes. So no, those are not good reasons to have GPU miners. The good reason to have a GPU miner is, as Mr. Spread already said, that SOMEONE ALREADY HAS ONE and is keeping all the coins to himself! So making a free GPU miner that everyone can use will ease this concentration, at least for now.

well, a small change might be something that requires huge amounts of memory, or even to use diskspace in order to be calculated, which makes the use of GPU so slow that CPU are still usable for mining. (take a look at the momentum algorithm used on protoshares, miners are only 2 or 3 times faster on GPU).
Requiring to use disc space is surely not a small change. Their whitepaper seems to be outdated, when reading it the first thing I thought was that you can use bloom filter to significantly reduce memory requirements. Some googling revealed that someone else already pointed to this and other vulnerabilities in the proposed scheme were found. They seem to fixed them to some extent but its not fast to find any definite information. This all will require time, I can't just copypaste some code into SpreadCoin without understanding it.

GPU miner is my priority now.

Bloom filter is actually slower than the currently used solutions, since false positives are quite costly. Some people have tried it already, and using a regular hashtable and ignoring collisions is way faster (up to twice as fast depending on the implementation). But still, due to the size of the search space (2^50) and the amount of data to be hashed (2^26), even bloom filters would use an amount of memory that would not fit in the local memory of  any GPU in the near future. So, even with a hashing data structure way more efficient than bloom filters (say, something twice as fast as the current implementation), we'd still have GPU and CPU mining ration bellow 5:1, which is quite acceptable. But then, momentum is not the only way to abuse the use of memory, there might be simpler ways to do so (preferably something that can be used with hashcash PoW, which makes for a much simpler transition). But then, i'm not the one deciding the priorities.
3067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Logo Contest on: November 15, 2014, 06:13:08 PM
In fact, I also think, it would be better if SPR was CPU only coin. But it is absolutely not trivial to design algorithm, which will perform well on CPU and contrarily on GPU.
In the meantime, it is really necessary  to keap pace with "secret" GPU miners, to make powers equal and fair.

Then it's vulnerable to botnets.

Botnets prefer using pools/mines. SPR is quite secure from that - you need the whole blockchain downloaded and wallet started. Probably this is why currently there are no SPR botnets while SPR has a good price at the exchange.

I see good future for SPR as the best CPU coin. When it will become true GPU coin I will quit Sad
Well, modern computers have couple of free gigabytes of free space on their hard drives. I don't think blockchain is a big issue for botnets.

It is because it is easily detected. Botnets need to keep a Low footprint or they wont survive long.

Stopping mining now is a very bad idea. This miner seems to be kind and not using his power at full capacity, hashrate is about 8-9 MH/s, this is not something we never saw with CPU-only miners. It is the last chance to mine with your CPU, soon it will be impossible.

I started to work on an AMD miner, I haven't previously done anything like this, hard to say how long will it take.

And what about the hardfork witch slighly changed algo?
Miner included in wallet will include this change and private gpu miners will need to redesign their software.
Smart change in algo will sloooooooow down this redesign.
Small change to the algo implies small change to the miner. This may give us a few hours or a day at most.

well, a small change might be something that requires huge amounts of memory, or even to use diskspace in order to be calculated, which makes the use of GPU so slow that CPU are still usable for mining. Why would he release the miner when he owns more than half the network hash rate...? Out of sheer good will and honest intention towards the community?

because if he is the only one holding most coins, the coin will drop its value and he will never be able to profit from his miner. Best way to profit from a GPU miner is to mine for a short while, then release it and wait for the coin to raise prices again before selling.
3072  Local / Criptomoedas Alternativas / Re: BRCoin, SambaCoin e Guarany??? WTF??? on: November 12, 2014, 12:36:48 AM

3073  Local / Criptomoedas Alternativas / Re: BRCoin, SambaCoin e Guarany??? WTF??? on: November 11, 2014, 08:48:48 PM

3074  Local / Criptomoedas Alternativas / Re: BRCoin, SambaCoin e Guarany??? WTF??? on: November 11, 2014, 08:47:46 PM

Galera,

Alguém sabe alguma coisa sobre isso?

http://forum.bleutrade.com/index.php/topic,209.0.html

e isso?

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10203753067880164&set=gm.387694064717020&type=1&theater

Looks like a clone is on it's way:
https://github.com/solocoin/solocoin
We really need to speed up marketing now before clone product come in front of SPR.
Yep. Mr. Spread please launch twitter.
I launched it: https://twitter.com/spread_coin
But I don't know what to write there.

Well, you should start with platitudes, like, whenever the price is going up on some exchange, announce it there. Whenever there's opportunity for arbitrage (price in different exchanges has huge spread), announce it there. Announce new versions, post links to downloads regularly, announce bounties. This kind of thing. (Repeat the info in the OP weekly, in small doses).

Then, when there are REAL announcements to be done, post them there (new miner, new versions, new exchanges, etc). And try to answer questions and compliments (but ignore any petty criticism, FUD and trolls)

You can also try to "hire" someone to do so, there are several people that have interest in the growth of the coin, some of them might be good with social media... Just choose with care, since they will be the "face" of the coin.

forgot to comment that: you don't really need an external API for GPU. Since OpenCL is compiled on the fly, you can implement it inside the wallet. Just work out an internal API to make it easy to link different miners to the wallet. (As a spreadcoin "entusiast", i'd prefer that, since it would keep a high cost for botnets).
This sounds reasonable, miner as a static or dynamic library. This also can have an advantage that you can switch to new block faster thus spending less time on mining stale blocks than with these json rpc calls. This makes botnets more complicated but still doesn't prevents anyone from actually separating miner and wallet.

In my experience, botnet operators will not bother trying to code or understand code, so if no one publishes a standalone miner, they will simply look for another coin, maybe less profitable, but easier to deploy.

Wolf0 said he need a bigger exchane to sell SPR.
Yeah, we all need a bigger exchange.

I'm working on an API for external miners. I will then make an external CPU miner to test it and as a reference for implementing GPU miner. After that I will start working on GPU miner by myself if there will be no interest from other devs. Even if I will be the first who will make a miner bounty will still remain for improving its hashrate.

I have not much time lately, that's why i am not currently applying for this bounty. As soon as I have some free time, if no one else is working on it, i'll contact you so we can develop the GPU miner. I still need to understand how the signing work, so i can implement it on openCL. (AFAIK you use some external bignum library that we'd need to port to opencl, or at least port the relevant operations).

Also, nvidia cards are much more power efficient for mining X11, so a cuda miner should also be considered. (not my specialty, i'd have to learn how to use cuda, but might be easier to port external libs).

can i safely withdraw funds from suchpool now??

No, please don't move anything for now. We do not know yet which fork is the right one, all pools and exchanges are on standby waiting for the dev, you should wait too!

oke, thanks

Sorry if you already answered that, but... Has the started working on a solution? What does he say about it? will he be fixing it? how long will it take?

Thanks a lot.
