3081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC and BCC vs. ETH and ETC on: July 31, 2017, 06:08:11 AM
I think you're confusing ETH and ETC roles in this thing. ETC stands for Ethereum Classic, as in the original. The soaring, new version today is ETH...no?

ETC has hardly appreciated in the past year...It is ETH that has taken off. So if BCC is to appreciate like ETC, it will have been a non-event!

Actually, both ETH and ETC "soared" since the fork, and by comparable amounts. As I recall, ETC started out at something like $0.70 when ETH was around $10. Currently we have ETC at $14 and ETH at $200, so that would be a factor of 20 for both.

ETC has always been priced an order of magnitude lower than ETH, but their relative price appreciation has been comparable. ETC rode the same rocket upwards.

Thus, I'm still wondering about BTC and BCC in this context. What will happen to potentially valuable coins that Coinbase won't give to users, yet won't grab for itself, either?

it is all about the support, if the fork gains any support it will exist. if it doesn't and instead continues to have more and more problems then it will eventually cease to exist.
with ETH/ETC there was a big support for both of them, i can say it was even equal support since the fork was rushed and people didn't want it but at the same time many of them lost money and wanted it back!!
also remember that mining ETH/ETC were both easy (it still is moderately easy). you can just start up your GPU and mine them.

with bitcoin mining is hard, it needs a lot of investment and then you are comparing the profit of $2700 and rising with the profit of $100 per coin and dropping. this is no longer a matter of less profit, it is a matter of a big profit versus a huge loss respectively.
3082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet for Bitcoincash? on: July 30, 2017, 06:24:35 AM
So, I'm having to get some bitcoincash in few days and to ease up the mess, I should transfer them as soon as possible to a supported wallet.
Are there any wallet that exclusively support Bitcoincash yet? I mean sending receiving as a regular wallet not just storing them.
No, in current we still not have wallet for doing as your mean. But you can update information about this wallet in ANN thread of Bitcoin Cash, HostFat always update the news about this coin and can support you any time.

ANN thread Bitcoin Cash: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2040221.0
I think it has already mentioned in that thread about the wallet that has supported the bitcoin cash. I think electrum should be the only one that the wallet already supported the bitcoin cash or bitcoin fork.
Op must read more about that in the announcement thread.

NO, electrum does NOT support bitcoin cash. what you see is a fork of electrum that they have modified and not even released yet. it has nothing to do with the main and original Electrum released by ThomasV.
be careful with what you download and use.

you can also read the official statement but the official (real) Electrum regarding bitcoin cash: https://electrum.org/bcc.txt
3083  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Coinmarketcap on: July 30, 2017, 06:15:41 AM
you just randomly edited the coinmarketcap.com page with complete random numbers without any logic behind them.
Bitcoin:
supply: 17,407,000
this is wrong, to reach this number it will take about 516 days in other words 1 year and 5 months and that will be in Jan 2019 but you said 2018!
and in a year the price you predicted ($7000+) is a too much in my opinion, by the end of 2018 maybe that can be possible.

Ethereum:
supply:
this is very wrong!
in a year from now ETH supply will be: 102,155,790 ETH
and if the timeframe is the same as your bitcoin edit (1 year and 5 months) the supply will be 105,764,965
price: with this kind of huge supply (~106 million) the price can NOT be high. and with the ICO dumps and all the bugs that eth has it will probably be around $10-$100 there simply is no way that price reaches $1000+ for this altcoin!!

i have also checked your rest of the numbers quickly and they are all wrong. and the supply of each coins and the rate they are being created at is going to affect their prices a lot.
you can see a lot of good information here: https://bitinfocharts.com/
3084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC vs BCC on: July 30, 2017, 05:54:38 AM
Better which one between Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash (Futures) Huh

Bitcoin:
- has all the support from the community, all the miners, all the nodes, all the businesses and merchants
- has the highest price, it is rising, and a solid support behind it, has the highest volume, and is listed on all exchanges and the most trusted exchanges.
- has the best developers that have been working on it for 6+ years and the code is reviewed by thousands of people who check each change and look at the code.
- countries have adopted Bitcoin, like Japan and regulated it and removed taxes on it.

bitcoin cash:
- is an altcoin
- community does not want nor supports it
- miners do not support it
- developers do not support it
- businesses do not support it
- top exchanged do not support it
- countries adopted bitcoin and not altcoins
- the code is rushed, not tested, not reviewed, not trusted
- the change they are making is a fundamental change and will change a lot of things. it is a hard fork and can cause a lot of problems down the line for example in a year if it gets any traction.
- the price is low and dropping hard even before it is released (started at $900 and now it is worth nearly $300) and the release will crash it down to somewhere between $100 and $10

this is just a small number of differences.

Hello
i have played dice here for many times. But my question is should i dice at freebitco.in or at bitser.com more easy to win more bitcoin

it is much easier to win bitcoins at bitsler due to many reasons, the main being that it has a much lower
house edge compared to freebitcoin: 1% to 5%
freebitcoin was initially designed as a free faucet,it operated on ad based revenue, where the owner was paying out
a portion of the priofit he was getting from traffic to his site, while bitsler has always been a gambling site with multicurrency support and different games, too
in any case, you will require luck and skills to be winning, but at bitsler one can be sure the game is fair, his winnings are paid without any delay and there are good chances to win using the free faucet it provides for all

In both sites this game is fair and they will pay you without any delay if you have the minimum funds to withdraw. I don't think you win a money from just a faucet amount from both sites. You may be simply wasting your time to try your luck. But playing on lower house edge always better particularly when you deposit your money to play.

the rolls are fair in both places because they both have a provably fair system in place.
but the lottery part of the other site is not fair because last time i checked they had no mechanism in place to prove otherwise. and they are selling lottery tickets to a game that may not be fair. maybe that is what he had in mind when he said freebitcoin is not fair.

It looks like you wrote this comment without checking the latest update on freebitcoin site. If I'm not wrong admin has already implemented a new system to verify even lotteries now. You can check their thread to get more details about it. Anyway, for winning lottery needs to be very lucky.

no i don't check that site that often, it is only a faucet for me that i have an old account which has some referrals that are generating me some income. i sometimes advertise the link and sometimes check it out to see what is happening there Smiley
last time i checked they didn't have any system for their lottery verification. but you are correct, they seem to have added a new system with a server seed for it now.
3086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Wallets Support BCC on: July 29, 2017, 06:55:50 AM
be very careful when using a new wallet to spend your BCC, these wallets may include bugs or even malware to steal your coins on the main chain (bitcoin).
if you have a single private key (non deterministic) then first spend your bitcoins on the main chain after the August 1st and then import that private key into that new BCC wallet to claim your BCC airdrop tokens.

if you use a seed with deterministic (HD) wallets then make sure to create a NEW WALLET with a new seed first and send all your funds from this old wallet to that new one on the main chain (bitcoin). then import that seed to the new BCC wallet and claim your airdrop.
even if you are using 1 private key generated from that seed you MUST create a new seed and send the funds to that one.
3087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you prefer? BTC or ETH? on: July 29, 2017, 06:25:47 AM
in the past 2 months bitcoin has had a huge FUD wave about its split which was a big lie from the start. it only caused a 27% drop in its price and that could not even last for more than 20 hours and price jumped back up!!!
there was another FUD again that caused another dip, but this time small and that didn't last long either.
price is now back at the ATH level.

in the past 2 months while that was going on, ethereum started at 0.15BTC and has been constantly dropping down. it is getting dumped in steps. first it went down 15% in one day then stopped and recovered a small amount and then got dumped more. the dumping has been going on until today down to 0.068BTC which is more than 55% drop. in other words ethereum has lost more than half its value from top.

now you compare these two and tell me what you prefer....
3088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who's all dumping Bitcoin Cash after it hits the exchanges?? on: July 29, 2017, 06:20:26 AM
it will be hard to get a good price for it, sadly everyone is going to dump as fast as they can and that crashes the price. BCC is not a regular altcoin to be dumped regularly with small amounts. it is a HUGE airdrop. i will try to dump it as fast as i can but i don't know how much i can get. but anything would be good because it is free money.

for example Byteball which is one of the best altcoins only got a small portion of bitcoiners linking their coins (about 70000BTC in the first round). this altcoin has ALL bitcoins linked which is about 16,400,000BTC
you can only imagine what that will do its price!
3089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PRE August investment and BITCOIN CASH? on: July 29, 2017, 06:00:39 AM
so far, as you already know your 10,000 dollar investment in ETH is causing you a lot of losses and will probably continue to lose a lot in the following months. the drip doesn't seem to slow down nor stop with this coin, people are finally dumping this because of all the hacks and ICO exits.
i am not sure about the other two altcoins, but in general the altcoin market is not very good at the moment. the bubbles are bursting.

as for bitcoin, it has always been the best investment that you can hope for in crypto space. it is good for the long term and if you are a trader you can also make a lot of money from short term fluctuations.
the BCC thing is like the icing on the cake. a giveaway to anyone who holds bitcoin. some free money if you like.

I still got like 2000 USD in ETH now (rest in ALT coins), ...  think its good idea to trade them into BTC today and then keep the 5000 USD as standby for after AUgust 1st?

just be careful with your altcoin investments. about 4 or 5 months ago altcoin market was very alive and rising. it was a legit bull market but like always it did not last for long. it is now ended and we have entered the next phase which is the dumping phase. i don't even think we can call it a bear market!

what i speculate is that bitcoin price will go up from now on. so if you don't have BTC at all, then buy some. if you have something or bought some, then keep it and keep fiat at hand to buy in case an opportunity showed up.

in the end remember that it is up to you to decide, i may be wrong. i am simply sharing what i have done.

3091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best time to buy altcoins? on: July 28, 2017, 06:52:10 AM
Hi guys. I'm looking to invest a couple of thousand dollars in cryptocurrency. I'm not a trader and would like to invest in currently undervalued alcoins with the best potential for the long term growth. Have been reading up extensively and following the markets but still not sure if now is the best time to enter.
if you are not a trader i suggest staying away from altcoins. just invest in bitcoin. you can even wait for after August 1 to do it if you are afraid of the future or you can buy in case you saw another dip (unlikely).

if you want to buy altcoins you need to be a trader. and in my experience they are not good for long term. it is best if you just trade them and get the short term profit and put that in something that has a better long term future. bitcoin, gold, ... come to mind.

Quote
Thus requesting an insight from you: invest now or wait and see what the August brings? And what are the possible scenarios for altcoins it can bring?
as it was also recently proven, when bitcoin goes down altcoins go down with it.
this means that if you think August first can have a negative effect on bitcoin price then you should not invest in altcoins either.
of course there are always small unknown altcoins that are getting pumped and dumped irregardless of what is going on in the world. and for that (as i said above) you need to be a trader. you need a lot of experience to be able to pull it off successfully and not invest in the bubble and get dumped on.
3092  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC upto 5000$!! on: July 28, 2017, 06:43:48 AM
it is possible but i don't think it will happen.
there are a couple of things in the future that will greatly affect bitcoin price:
1. Activation of SegWit:
this is a good news and what many people have been waiting for a long time now. it will move us forward with development and will be a positive thing about bitcoin price. a big rally is possible.

2. Hard fork to create the altcoin known as BCC:
this will cause some panic but eventually it is free money for many bitcoin holders which they will use to buy bitcoin with. in which case it can even help the rise of bitcoin.

3. the Hard fork of SegWit2x:
this can go both ways. and we can't talk about which way now. the miners are supporting this which is good but the developers don't support it which is bad. so if we can find a common middle ground it can help bitcoin move forward and we will finally put an end to the scaling debate with this. and the rally will get bigger.
but if the common ground is not found the issues will continue.
3093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges that will not support 'Bitcoin Cash" on: July 28, 2017, 06:37:04 AM
bittrex said they will credit you your BCC in case the split happened and you were holding any bitcoins there so you don't need to withdraw and pay the fees and disturb your trading.

but they said they may not add any support for trading it.

3094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Warning: Using Bitcoin Cash means trusting your private keys to buggy software! on: July 28, 2017, 06:14:16 AM
To minimize the risk of leaking your private keys with BCC, one needs to move their BTC to new wallets immediately after they used the private keys in the BCC software.

BEFORE not after.
if we assume there is a bug, malware, backdoor, .... in BCC code then you must not import any private keys there that have BTC in them.

First spend the coins on BTC chain then import the keys that are now empty of BTC to BCC client and dump the BCC tokens.

here is help for electrum users: https://electrum.org/bcc.txt
1. empty the wallet on BTC by creating a new wallet and seed and sending your coins there.
2. import your seed into the BCC client (do it on another computer preferably).
3. dump BCC

there is a lot of "maybe"s in these articles that makes my head spin Smiley
it seems like the only reason why they say "Alexander Vinnik" is an admin (owner,...) of btc-e is because there is someone with the same first name "Alexander" in btc-e so they say they may be the same person. and "Alexander" is a very common name in many countries. and for all we know it was a pseudo name like Satoshi!

... and btc-e is still down Cheesy
3097  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stolen BTC(e)'s using mixer to laundry on: July 26, 2017, 06:15:44 AM
This is speculation thread and these are my speculations.
no this is not speculation, this is "guess" based on imagination. i have already linked above who those coins belong to. they have nothing to do with btc-e yet you insist on it.

Quote
Btc-e is offline more then 18 hours.
resyncing your node and going through all the security measures and checking everything to see if you are not leaking anything sensitive is going to take a long time. it is not a 1 hour job.

Quote
and there are huge wallet transactions.
there is about 8-9 million bitcoins moving around in transactions every single day.

Quote
btc-e down and same time bitmixer down. what you will think?
bitmixer stopped their operation about a week ago.
btc-e went down for maintenance less than 24 hours ago!

Quote
i am not sherlock but these are my stupid theory Smiley
yes Wink
but in all seriousness even if btc-e is hacked, you are trying so hard to relate unrelated stuff to this. your "facts" that you are using for your "theory" are ridiculous at best...
3098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCC: just a new altcoin? on: July 26, 2017, 06:05:26 AM
Most people on the forum are of the view that BCC is just another altcoin and it is likely to just die off in sometime after August 1. It will or won't, this remains to be seen. In the meantime, are there any exchanges willing to offer BCC-BTC trading after the fork?

I am not referring to BCC futures. More along the lines of "BCC-BTC trading begins on xyz exchange on August 1 12:21 UTC".

there is a very good chance that it won't even happen because it may not even reach enough hashrate to be able to mine 1 block per 1 hour!
Bitmain recently announced that they were only talking about UAHF (which is the hard fork to increase the block size and what BCC is trying) because of existence of UASF and to counter it. and they also said they are happy because of New York agreement and the SegWit2x (which is clearly visible by the miners 100% support for it).

in a low chance that it actually happens and forks for real, it will be considered inferior chain, prune to many attack vectors because of lower hashrate, lower support and no decent developer working on it. the community support is also with the majority chain aka core or BTC. and that means nobody is interested in something with this many problems that is forking with little support.

on top of it there is the price problem. currently you can find it on ViaBTC (which is a Chinese exchange apparently) and the price has been falling ever since they listed it there (and the coins are not even released, there is no client even!!!). so far dropped from $560 to $340 in 3-4 days.
and as soon as it forks there majority's agreement is on dumping it. that means a lot of people will start dumping price will tank harder, and when that happens other will join in and price will go down to $100, $50 and so on.
miners who are on that chain finding 1 block every hour or more and getting paid $625(12.5 BCC @$50)  instead of $32,000 (12.5 BTC @$2500 heading to $3000) will not continue mining there and it will be dead in a very short time.

as i said ViaBTC is the only one so far. a couple of other Chinese exchanges (small ones like ViaBTC) has said they may add it. but the major exchanges such as GDAX has clearly said they will NOT add support for this altcoin.

Very insightful new post for anyone interested.

"insightful" is not the word most people choose to describe this guy!
"spammer", "has no life", "FUDster", "kwukduck 2.0" are the words that come to mind.

he has always been a desperate guy to spread something he called "analysis" with long walls of text (with at least 20 alt accounts supporting it) and try to force people into believing the market is moving in the way he suggests. and whenever it moved in the other direction he was arrogant enough to say "i told you so" even though he was completely wrong!

proof!! this is not proof. this is a random bitcoin address that you found with a large amount of bitcoin in it and that large amount has been moved. i can show you at least 10 other similar addresses moving similar amounts the similar ways.

and neither google nor walletexplorer.com show any indication that this belongs to btc-e.

if you have any real proof share it with us. otherwise this is a random guess and close to FUD.

edit:
here is who that address is linked to: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=150803.msg8988815#msg8988815
