3121  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Which do you prefer? Physical or digital collectibles? on: June 01, 2023, 05:35:24 PM
I used to hate the idea of digital collectibles but I like them now so long as they serve a purpose. That purpose could be like a ticket stub, showing you were present for an event, or an active ticket to be able to access online games or services…

The problem with physical collectibles is that you have to store them somewhere. If they are expensive you’ll probably even store them somewhere you never get to see them.

So I think digital collectibles have the potential to be more fun and useful.
3122  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden is a senile, old Bitch on: June 01, 2023, 04:41:00 PM
Watching Trump absolutely own the journalist last night on CNN was something else.

It was wasn't it?  CNN going for a money grab. And then just stack the audience with a bunch of Trump fans who laugh at his comments about the women he sexually assaulted. Yeah cool.

It’s clear that nasty interviewer was trying to get him all night but at every turn Trump made her look like an idiot.
Apparently we did not watch the same interview.

. Reminded me of Musk’s recent smack down of BBC.

Yeah, your hero Elon. Is that the dude that blows up rockets and tells everyone he's gonna land his Starship on Mars and start a colony in 10 years or some such nonsense?
And sounds like a stammering idiot, blabbing word salads when interviewed?
https://youtu.be/mr1N9CcvKXM
Only credulous folk like you believe in his crap. Hey, so how's that Tesla vaporware truck you ordered working out for you? I'm sure it will be delivered right around the time
Elon's Starship starts ferrying folks to Mars on his 100 seat rocket ship. Well, he's got all the CGI videos done anyway.

. Anyone watching what Trump did last night would have to be a brainwashed moron to vote against him in the next election.

Oh, well I guess I'm a brainwashed moron then. Because some OG bitcoin shyster on bitcointalk.org said so...got it.

. I feel like the liberal rightwing nut ignorant Trump fascists nightmare destroying America is nearly over.

ftfy

Geez...  So many bad takes in one response, it's hard to even know where to begin.  Here goes...

Yes, Trump absolutely owned CNN and that nasty woman who was obviously there trying to make him look bad.  It will be a stain on her career forever and I'm sure she's embarrassed about it.

I'm sure we watched the same interview, you've just got TDS and are so brainwashed you can no longer see the truth.

If you think Elon is an idiot, or that his latest rocket launch wasn't a wild success, then you are uninformed and lack the IQ to be able to recognize genius.  As far as the vaporware truck I ordered, the delivery event is in 4 months and it will be the most awesome civilian vehicle ever made.  Again, lacking IQ to understand that truck's innovation and being uninformed with the evolution of this product can lead to making ignorant statements.

You truly are the Biden target demographic.
3123  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Iran is about the get enough Uranium for a nuke thanks to Trump's "great deals" on: June 01, 2023, 04:34:24 PM
If memory serves me correctly the inspections for the previous deal were nothing more than a complete hoax.  Iran was enriching uranium anyway and we were looking like fools allowing them to do it right under out watchful eye.  Rather than let this continue, Trump used this as a way to broker peace, which he did.  Now instead of us being terrible policeman while our enemies broke our laws under our nose and prepared to attack us as the evil suppressive empire, we are at peace with them and watching them publicly setup operations.  When the time comes, a press of a button could eliminate their nuclear programs now, instead of them being clandestine operations built to undermine our inspections.

Your version is probably what the media will push though.
3124  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Canaan + silent fans? on: June 01, 2023, 04:29:42 PM
Given the information that philipma1957 has provided, I would ask what the temperatures are that you're dealing with.  It sounds like this could be a simple case of your boards frying because you're not cooling them off enough so they are burning up.  Without more information about your board temperatures or your ambient room temperature, the assumption is going to be that you removed the fans that were necessary to cool the boards and replaced them with quieter ones that are more convenient for your situation, but aren't providing the necessary cooling.  More information from you to confirm this diagnosis is needed.
3125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 01, 2023, 04:27:23 PM
My first cousin lost a kid to a tv set in the 90’s.

I always felt the move to tube conforming designs made them easier to pull over.

Yeah the 5 year old dropped it on the 9 month old while the mother was washing dishes. Very sad story.

That is one of the most awful stories I've ever heard.  I couldn't imagine the pain the Mother must be dealing with still and even the child who was probably too young to remember must have guilt about killing their sibling.  Stories like this I'd rather believe aren't true, but at least with the flimsy thing televisions being sold today this isn't a big concern for new Mothers.

A little more on topic...  We appear to still be stuck in the consolidation range.  A breakout either way would likely signal a larger move in that direction.  Feels like the risk is to the downside at the moment, but only in the term of a few months.
3126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 01, 2023, 04:21:36 PM

I'm also on the Jimmy Buckets bandwagon so let's see how far he can make this series against the Denver Nuggets teams. Again, they have been underrated since game 1 of this playoffs and yet Jimmy proved his MVP mentality since the series against the Bucks. So it's going to be Jimmy against Jamal Murray, and let's see if Aaron Gordon can somewhat stop him.

I'm considering taking the handicap in game 1 because I'm afraid to bet on the ML. There's a chance that the Heat will cover the spread even if they lose, especially if the game is close. Jimmy Butler has been unstoppable, and not even Gordon could stop him. Jimmy is quick and knows how to pass the ball to his open teammates. I don't know what their specific strategy will be in game 1, but I'm confident that the Heat will always be competitive.

In terms of being competitive, I've got no doubts about the Heat on that one and I'm inclined that they can somehow snatch the first victory at Denver's home. They can be very unpredictable just what we've saw throughout the Eastern Finals and with the help of their few undrafted players, they can really make it work. About the Nuggets, I've got no quarrel with them but I will be with the Heat in the first two games.

I don't know...  I don't think Miami matches up very well against Denver at any position.  Maybe Kevin Love might be able to have a miracle game with 20 rebounds or something given that he's a better rebounder than the Nuggets have at the 4, but I really don't see them having any advantages anywhere else.  I believe Jokic will be able to still do his thing against Bam and I think Butler is going to be held to his worst game of the post season tonight.  I can understand betting against Denver because of the odds, but if I were you I'd include a spread in there, because the best I think Miami is going to do is not lose by very much.
3127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a steady income haven on: June 01, 2023, 04:18:56 PM
Gambling places are not for steady income, if you want steady income with gambling, online or offline, you have to be a owner, build your own casino and watch yourself growing up into a filthy rich billionaire.

Online casinos are places where it's certain that you will lose your money, it's a place where you need to be mentality sane to at least have a good ride and experience as you progress, it's not always about making money with gambling, it's always about not ending up running insane because of gambling.

To make this happen, you need to discipline yourself up, make sure you set some rules on how you will handle gambling every day and how much you are willing to risk on gambling every day or else you will end up in the gutter, with full regrets.

That's if you are not even addicted to gambling already, a addicted gambler always have one goal in mind, '( I have to make back all I have lost ), this is where the beginning of the end begins.

Ya, I saw a thread here a few days ago talking about how someone could win $100 per day gambling.  That seems nuts to even attempt.  Gambling isn't investing, although investing may be gambling to some degree.  For people who want to build an income stream, there's nothing wrong with investing in the S&P500 and over a decade or so you might be surprised with how much your money has grown and how much income it kicks off for you now.  Once you get the disposable income, then you can start messing around trying to get rich with gambling.  Doing it the other way around doesn't have very successful results.
3128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 01, 2023, 04:16:51 PM
Nuggets on Game 1 for me too. Although I doubt the high spreads if it can be covered.

If you believe that they will win in game 1, trust them to cover the spread. Currently, the Moneyline (ML) odds for the Nuggets are only 1.28, so I think that is too low for gambling unless you have great faith in them and would like to bet a decent amount. However, if you're not betting a lot of money, I think -10 with odds of 2.03 would be fine. Sometimes we have doubts about whether the spread will be covered, but often, when we have doubts, it's the easiest bet that we should take.

In the end, you just have to be confident and trust your analysis.

Money line is not that sweet because the Denver Nuggets now are listed as a very heavy favorite because of what seed they've finished the regular season plus they have pulled a stunt that very few can make and that was sweeping a team in a conference finals. So, if you're looking a heavy payout, handicap will be needed but giving a +10 advantage on the Heat might be a bad choice. Nobody can guarantee that of course, so who knows what will happen on their first game.

Ya, this is a case where it seems pretty clear that Denver is going to take game 1.  They're more well rested, Jimmy Buckets has an ankle injury, Denver is younger, Denver is playing at home in the mile high city, Denver matches up well against Butler and Bam, Denver had a better season, Denver has been playing together longer as a team, etc...

That leaves pretty bum odds to bet against.  I'd almost say it's worth taking the Heat to win with the given odds, but I honestly don't think they have much of a chance.  Jokic will shut down Bam, MPJ & BGordon will shut down Butler, and Murray will absolutely go off against Miami's guards.  I see Denver winning this series in 5.

One thing is for sure. Boxing has been good for Jake Paul and living in Puerto Rico must have some serious tax benefits because his new house which cost him $16,000,000 is pretty insane.

https://twitter.com/dexerto/status/1663967896781897741

UFC fighters have to think it’s pretty crazy how much money is being made in other sports. I hope Jake is able to figure out a way to share the wealth with other fighters.
3130  Economy / Speculation / Re: One Bitcoin May Be Worth $1 Billion by 2038, Fidelity Says on: May 31, 2023, 08:52:06 PM
I think it’s probably easier to justify the prediction than for it to come true. Smiley Sure, you can look at expected growth rates and dollar printing or you could extrapolate from previous fractal-like performance… In reality though, it would take a massive amount of usage for Bitcoin to hit those levels. I’m not sure the world will be able to move so quickly.
3131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another popular football site HESGOAL.COM seized by the US government on: May 31, 2023, 08:49:36 PM
What does this have to do with crypto?

It sounds like this may have been a site where people could watch games without having to pay money for a television service. So it’s less about crypto and more about a service that crypto gamblers may utilize to track their bets. I’m not surprised the government would shut down a site that was facilitating illegal behavior. Seems like this should be expected.
3132  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: May 31, 2023, 08:45:11 PM
With a suspected 4 months until a Tesla Cybertruck delivery event, more and more news keeps making its way to the public. A recent twitter post shows that the Cybertruck will be the first Tesla vehicle to come with dual 8” subwoofers. This will make it quite a beast of an entertainment center for watching movies and listening to music.

3133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 77% into the next Bitcoin halving on: May 31, 2023, 04:26:37 PM
We may be 77% of the way to the next halving, but we're about 50% away from the next price bubble.  Do your stacking now while those cheap coins are still out there, because once that halving hits they will start to disappear.  It usually takes about a year to a year and a half before the market overshoots on the demand side and causes a bubble.  You don't want to be buying during that period, so make sure that you scoop all the Bitcoin you want to own in the next year, because after that things are going to get frothy and you're going to want to be on the sell side (if you can ignore the hype and stick to your trading plan).
3134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's Wrong with Roger Ver? ::) on: May 31, 2023, 04:21:22 PM
In 2017, Roger Ver Turned Into Bitcoin Cash.

Yesterday, This guy did not talk about Bitcoin Cash But about Ethereum. He said, “Even though Ethereum doesn’t have the biggest market cap compared to Bitcoin, I think Ethereum is the front-runner in terms of driving worldwide adoption.” [2]

What's wrong with Mr. Roger ver? Did Vuterin Start Paying him to vouch for ETH? What is your thought?

[1] https://www.investopedia.com/tech/who-roger-ver-bitcoin-jesus/
[2] https://cryptoslate.com/ethereum-will-drive-global-cryptocurrency-adoption-not-bitcoin-roger-ver/

I don't think anything is wrong with Roger Ver.  I think this Ordinals situation has shined light down upon the shortcomings of BTC to a new audience that may have believed the propaganda that Roger was a bad guy trying to destroy Bitcoin.  Now people are starting to see that it was Blockstream that were the bad actors trying to give their scaling solution an advantage that is now being exploited by others to demonstrate it's ineffectiveness.  Roger, seeing this and knowing BCH will never overtake Bitcoin, has instead focused his eye on an investment that the overall community is accepting, Ethereum.

Roger was one of the early supporters of Ethereum and bought a ton of mining equipment early on to mine it upon release.  I'm sure he has a TON of Ethereum, so it's not like him pumping his own bags is a display of something wrong with him.  More likely he feels that the market has now demonstrated Lightning is shit and not the scaling solution it's supporters pretend it to be, so he feels vindicated and is ready to stop fighting and start building again somewhere with less hate.
3135  Economy / Speculation / Re: FTX recovered $7.3B in Assets and is considering restarting! on: May 31, 2023, 04:15:33 PM
it's a good thing if FTX is right to restart their Exchange,
It might be a good thing for you, but try to think logically, will the old ppl trust them again after such a big mess?

yes this is still a long time ago and while FTT prices are still very cheap, I'm wondering if this is the right time to buy FTT?.
I won't recommend this at all. Once a scam is always a scam. Maybe someone who sleeps with money everyday on the bed might throw some bucks on this again.

The idea that this could be a good thing is insane.  For people who have hope of recovering something from this scam maybe it makes sense, but for the overall crypto community it would be terrible.  FTX taking user deposits that were meant to go into Bitcoin and direct them to shitcoins is the literal reason that Bitcoin didn't see a blowoff top around $200K in 2021.  The market is still recovering and in my opinion wouldn't have fallen below $30K at all this cycle if it wasn't for the damage FTX caused.  By no means can the market support them coming back and screwing Bitcoin again in 2025.  We need a recovery to the original price pattern, which would send BTC north of $400K this cycle without more shenanigans by nefarious entities like FTX.
3136  Economy / Collectibles / Re: yogg sweeping again - Playtoshi edition on: May 31, 2023, 04:08:17 PM
Did you not read my post? Taking Yogg to court is an utter and complete waste of time.  Why can't people understand this? Good lord.
Well, IMHO it depends your motivation...If your goal is to get your fund back, then yes i agree unfortunately.
But, if you want to make him understand that his behavior is robbery and that laws do exist, then i don't think it's a waste of time.

To me he carried on stealing, just because he didn't get any warning from the authorities.

I agree with this.  At this point I would say there is next to 0 chance of anyone recovering anything from yogg.  However, if people really feel that they were wronged and want any kind of justice, a small claims court would likely be the only way forward.  Who knows, maybe the person going through the effort would be able to recover something small for themself, but likely not.  It would be about inconvenience and nothing more.

People wanting to take this to a criminal court have to realize that no contracts were signed (to my knowledge) so a court would likely side with yogg even in the event you could prove it was him who emptied the coins, which is unlikely unless he withdrew them directly to an exchange where he had verified his account.

I stand by the statement that if you want ANYTHING done, someone in France will have to take him to small claims court.  Otherwise, let this be a learning experience and make sure that if you're going to trust someone, they have something to lose by betraying that trust.
3137  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Target now being boycotted for their pro-trans childrenswear on: May 31, 2023, 03:19:25 PM
It’s understandable why they do it, trying to be inclusive etc but they have to remember that the % of the audience who are accepting of this kind of stuff is very low. Everybody has the right to decide their sexuality & lifestyle but when I say everybody, I mean every adult. Just leave the children alone man, stop trying to indoctrinate children & groom them in this woke nonsense. They say go woke, go broke & it seems to be true, look what happened to Bud Light with their Dylan Mulvaney partnership. All this drag queen in schools push is wrong too, just leave the kids alone.

That Dylan Mulvaney psycho is one of the most ironic things about this “movement” that I’ve seen. He’s now saying he’s attracted to women, so after pretending to be gay, then trans, now he’s coming out as someone who likes women. Basically he’s just a normal guy with a mental disorder and a need to be celebrated. What a grift…
3138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Behavioural signs that suggest you are Addicted to Gambling on: May 31, 2023, 03:16:58 PM
The difference between a gambling addict and a professional is likely the difference between having a winning night or a losing night. Lol. In reality, I think gambling addiction just boils down to greed. People feel like they deserve to win a ton of money and think casinos are the way for them to get what they deserve. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t work like that.
3139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 31, 2023, 03:15:02 PM
But the Heat proved their worthiness in the league and the rest is a history for being the only team in the East to play in the second round of the playoffs. And again, they are being tested by the time and by the people's doubt because just like what the people believed when they were matched against the Celtics, it was the still same opinion now where almost everybody is saying that it will be a mismatch. So, let's see it first because I am actually predicting that the Miami Heat can take the first game on the road.

I don’t think anyone thought the Heat were unworthy. Just that their roster is an odd mashup of players that don’t seem like they could be the NBA’s champions. I agree and think that Denver is going to easily beat them. Your prediction of the Heat winning game 1 is a bold one, but I think I’m the end Denver is going to prove to be too much.
3140  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Target now being boycotted for their pro-trans childrenswear on: May 31, 2023, 02:01:33 AM
Mentally ill parents are literally cutting off the breasts and penises of children so they can be “celebrated” by corporations like this. It’s sick in my opinion and isn’t about t-shirts, it’s about giving impressionable kids a way to feel accepted by sterilizing themselves.
Merely out of curiosity, what the actual fuck are you talking about? Outside of botched circumcisions, children don't and can't get sex reassignment surgery, only consenting adults do.

Assuming you’re trolling, because nobody would comment on something they’re so ignorant about…

Looks like sanity has won this time. Target is dismantling the grooming displays and tuck swimsuits that were targeting children. They also got rid of their satanic designer and over sexualized children’s reading material. A hands down win for sanity. The tide is turning.
