3121  Other / Politics & Society / Re: why revolutions and movements fail at their desired outcome on: June 07, 2021, 02:39:40 PM

civilian protests/riots were not the cause.. it was legal paperwork such as petitions, resolutions, contracts, acts and lawsuits..
the civilian protests were just social/media drama to layer on as as an 'after-fact' if it was 'power of the people'
much like when hurricanes happen. some people then say 'it was an act of god'
nope it was an atmospheric event

I agree, civilian protest always look nice on the news, because it is so dramatic to have burning stores and looting people on the street. But if you put the number people in a city into relation to the number of protests, we see that is a very small number of the population that actually engages in the protests. And we also don't really know if it is a natural protest, or something organised by some rich people who want to use if it for a political agenda.
3122  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I start betting on sports? on: June 07, 2021, 10:55:13 AM
You can earn alot with sporting betting but I think betting in general has to do with luck but it is nice idea to try it may be you will be lucky nobody can tell.It seems to be fun and profitable sometimes.

It all comes down to if we are interested in sports and watch games regularly. While betting is a nice way to earn money on the side I think that it's important we actually follow the sport we bet on. Just waking up one day and deciding we want to bet on football games now is not a good idea. But if we are very familiar with our home team and we know that they will win in a game on their home stadium than we should definitely bet.
3123  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Don't buy facemasks for the coronavirus! on: June 07, 2021, 09:29:26 AM
I don't take it for free from work

At work I only get 2 masks per month which is definitely not enough. I only need to go to the office twice per week, so it's not so many masks I need to buy. I understand why masks are necessary,to protect others in case I am infected. But if we need to wear a mask at work I think that our employer should buy the masks.
3124  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anonymous vs Musk on: June 07, 2021, 09:20:38 AM
The well known Anonymous hackers have a new target and it's our antihero Elon.
According to them Musk attacked Bitcoin because he was afraid he could lose money his company was getting from the US government.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UG07x3aN3b0

Finally someone is speaking the truth. Anonymous is a great network of hackers who have exposed liars on the past. After the recent weeks we can all see the real picture of Elon Musk. He obviously only cares about his own position and not about his million followers. We should be very cautious for the future and don't trust Elon Musk anymore.
3125  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What about Fauci and the Wuhan Institute of Virology? on: June 07, 2021, 08:26:51 AM
For me the Wuhan institute of virology is most plausible story of how the corona virus was released on humanity. The story of the fish market just seems like the perfect place to release a deadly virus. There is one issue I would add here. It appears that scientist from the institute were admitted to a hospital already in autumn 2019, so month before the official outbreak. I wish the international pressure would be stronger to try and find out what really happened.
3126  Other / Off-topic / Re: Youtube views on: June 07, 2021, 08:19:26 AM
I'm looking to build a youtube channel but I do not know where to start. Does anyone here has an idea on how to have organic views and subscribers?

It depends on what type of videos you are interested. I would recommend to go for a small area which you really enjoy. If you like cooking for example and just start making videos about your favourite receipts then eventually people will start watching your videos. The only problem here is that followers are not so large. If you like taking there are probably more viewers.
3127  Other / Off-topic / Re: China Launches Copyright Protection Blockchain on: June 05, 2021, 12:56:16 PM
Isn't it wierd how China is trying to copyright protect something? Most of the products that China produces itself are western products, or straight up knock offs of western products. The whole growth of China is build on engineering and development in industrial nations. I find it quite alarming that China now wants to be the leading protector of copyright. It would be better to have an international agency to do that instead. The trust level for China is very low.
3128  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Nigeria ban Twitter on: June 05, 2021, 12:39:21 PM
Twitter is the fastest way to spread short information quickly, especially if you want to promote shot clips or pictures then twitter has the biggest reach. If you manage to reach the top trending spots then millions of people will read your post. It's crazy that Nigeria is banning twitter, this censorship of the highest level. In my opinion it is wrong in trying to control the media. There will always be ways around such bans, like using VPNs.
3129  Other / Off-topic / Re: Elon MusK Bullish again for bitcoin ? on: June 05, 2021, 12:18:42 PM
By now we all know that Elon Musk is just in the crypto market to make some money. He is clearly using his large social media range to influence the bitcoin price. And all his twitter followers just keep trusting him blindly. It seems kind of obvious that he first buys coins and then promotes them online, just sell again at much higher prices. We shouldn't trust him so easily again.
3130  Other / Politics & Society / Re: RELIGION IT'S POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE IMPACT ON SOCIETY on: June 04, 2021, 11:17:55 AM
In my society or the society at large Religion has been my basic concern, have been seeing the role religion is playing, the positive and negative aspect of it.

So today you will tell me the positive and negative impact of it in your society or Environment.
  I go first,the positive aspect of it have seen is it brings unity among group of people, while d negative aspect of it is too much;
(1) so many people have been brain washed all in the name of Religion
(2) people spends more time to their religion which has affected so many lives
(3) people think religion will liberate them from poverty.

I think part 2 of your list is actually a valid point, in a good way. Religion demands of us to think about others and invest time in going to the mess and to pray. While some people find that lost time, it depends what we would do instead during that time. Instead of going to. Sunday church we would probably just stay in bed and don't do anything productive. Or what about praying in the evening, if we wouldn't do that we could go out drinking, which is also bad.
3131  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I start betting on sports? on: June 04, 2021, 11:13:01 AM
I need to start making money. I go to school. I want to make money and go on a vacation trip with the class. Should I start betting on sports?

Betting is not a full time earning source. You may won few bets and lose few also. I have seen many people who have lost all their money in gambling.
Since you're are student and  go to school, you can take money from your parents for the vacation trip. If you are short on money, try to do odd jobs in your free time and earn money.

I can fully support this. Gambling is very risky and as a student you don't have the bankroll to take such risks. In my opinion your education is more important than money. With a better education you can get more money which means making more money in the future. And with more money in the future you can also gamble more when you are older and win more money. Only use money you can afford to lose.
3132  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Step aside, Tesla. Nevera has arrived! on: June 03, 2021, 07:58:45 PM

Price: €2 million
Limited to 150 units
Designed, engineered and built in Croatia, homologated for global use.

Wow 2 million EUR is really expensive. Who has so much money for an electric car? If I had 2 million I would probably not put into a car and rather just go for cryptos. I mean with only 150 units it will be very rare and we likely will never see it on the streets. I bet half of the cars will go to some rich prince in Saudia Arabia or Dubai who will just add it to his car collection and never really drive it. Would be cool if they add this car to the next GTA game, it would be so much faster than any other car.
3133  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to get respect even if you don't have money on: June 03, 2021, 07:31:57 PM

money can't buy everything...

those with integrity, simplicity, and fear of nothing must have a special place in society. while those who are servants of money will always get despised treatment in society.

I think it is hard to judge someone just by their bank account, but many people do it nonetheless. Money alone won't earn respect, it depends also on how it is earned. Let say someone wins millions in a lottery, then people probably will not really respect him, but rather try to be his friend to get some of his money. The same goes for young people who inherited a lot of family money. The only real respect I would give for people who actually worked hard for their wealth and got it by their own doing, not only luck or being born in the right family.
3134  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Firearms Policy on: June 03, 2021, 06:43:40 PM
It all comes down to culture obviously. Because culture is what drives the mindset of people in a specific community or country along with long time existing traditions. These two are the main things that shape the children along with the environment that influences the children. But even so, good or bad governance made possible by great or awful leaders are also vital ingredients to what a country currently is and how people in a specific country acts towards laws, families, fellow countrymen and foreigners.

I agree with you the gun laws depend on a culture. If a culture came from a long line of hunters or soldiers, then guns are very important for the people of that country.  It would be hard to imagine taking the guns of the people away if they fought for their privilege to own them in the first place. I think that it is possible to limit the sell of guns for the future, but taking away guns (some of which might be antiques with a lot of value) seems nearly impossible in todays world. The only way would be for the government to pay a big premium for every gun taking away.
3135  Other / Off-topic / Re: Love and money on: June 03, 2021, 06:17:11 PM
I'd rather have money than love; you can't spend love.

I think this comes always down to what we have and what we don't have. Rich people who are single would definitely give away money to find true love. And people who are happily married might trade their love for money. The biggest problem of being rich is that you can't know for sure if someone loves you just because you are being yourself or if someone loves you only for your money. There are a lot of gold diggers out there who say they look for love but in reality just want your money.
3136  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am thinking of being a food delivery rider accepting crypto payments on: June 03, 2021, 04:58:23 PM
I just bought myself a Xiaomi e-scooter a couple of days ago. Initially I just want it for my personal use going in and out, but I was already thinking of being one of the first guys in the city who is a food delivery rider (Food Panda) using e-scooter as most of them here are using bicycles and motorcycles. I don’t have driver’s license yet because I had lack of time plus driving schools aren’t opened due to quarantine restrictions, so e-scooters are just fine because of not using gas. Plus, I have confirmed it from my contact who is working in the Land Transportation Office that e-scooters doesn’t need to be registered and having a mandatory driver’s license.

I feel that e-scooters are having the advantage, especially during traffic times. However, there are risks as well like not being able to ride it on the rainy day (concerned about the battery) unless I’m gonna buy a protector for it, avoiding bumpy roads or carrying heavy stuff, etc.

Plus, food delivery riders here are categorized by our national government as essential workers, so there’s curfew immunity lol. Although I am happy with my crypto income, it’s just that I feel bored already working at home most of the time and wanna do something new. Food Panda is mainly using GCash as a payment method, but I heard that they are eyeing cryptocurrencies. So it would be great if customers are gonna pay in crypto using the GCash payment method.

That is a great idea, in my city I see almost all food delivery drivers on bicycles, only a few cars are actually still driving around delivery food. Using an E Scooter is a good idea, I think people prefer if their food is delivered by environmental friendly transports. I definitely tip more when I see a bicycle in front of the house. E scooters are faster than bicycles which is great, but they can't ride against the traffic flow in a one way straight which bicycles can do. So on bigger distances a E scooter seems faster, but on shorter distances a bicycle might still be the best chance. What if you put both in front of the retaurant and just take the one that is faster for each delivery?
3137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting to Risk Free Fights on: June 03, 2021, 12:17:50 PM
I am not sure if I would call these fights risk free. Odds of 1.50 sound pretty nice, but I wouldn't say that they are risk free. Even if a fighter is a strong favourite to win the fight, it is no guarantee it is going to happen. Every athelete can have a some mild injuries right before the fight, or just sleep bad and have a bad day. When we bet on such low risk fights we need to beware that we could actually lose. I did a similar strategy in football matches, where I only bet on odds between 1.10 and 1.30. In 90% of the time you make small profit, but unfortunately if you bet long enough you will get to that one unlucky match where you lose it all. That is why I only bet smaller amounts now on such low risk bets.
3138  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Remains of 215 underage genocide victims found in Kamloops on: June 03, 2021, 11:36:46 AM

The Roman Catholic church operated dozens of "schools" until 1978 for indigenous children in Canada. Some 150,000 children attended these schools, where they were forcibly converted to the Semitic religion and prohibited from speaking their native language. Official numbers are that 3% of these children were killed and their bodies buried in unmarked graves. However, according to unofficial numbers, the death toll ranged from 15% to 30%. Many more were sexually and physically abused by the clergy who ran these "schools".

The church has refused to apologize for these murders and till date it hasn't paid a penny in compensation to anyone (similar to the case with all the instances of genocide carried out by Vatican ever since 1492 in the Americas). However in 2009, the Vatican released "an expression of sorrow". Well, that was 6 years before the most well known genocide perpetrator Junípero Serra was promoted as a "saint".

Such news make me sick. The church has been controlling lifes and hurting people for hundred of years, why are we not changing anything? I understand that religion is important for many people, but abusing the power you got from the church is just wrong on so many levels. In my country we have atleast one scandal with the church each year, it is not as terrible as the murder, but still. There is tons of negative press and still nothing is changing. The worst thing for me is that there is no prosecution of wrongdoings in the church, if a priest missuses his power he is just sent to another country and not to jail.
3139  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: June 02, 2021, 11:00:04 AM
I think economy after covid-19 demise will continue to survive as they are struggling right now, any countries suffered from covid 19 would want to rise again, many industries would try to open again regardless of how little their income is for as long as they will recover. cryptocurrency seem like the taste of what future would be cashless and for others it is more convenient and safe to use after pandemic had done to their countries.

I have similar expectations of the economy after covid. Usually the stock market is a good indication of how investors are thinking about the future. So as long as stocks are keep rising I think we will be fine. Economic forecasts and stock forecasts usually go hand in hand. If companies are doing fine so does the economy, and vice versa. Higher stock prices means more investing, which means more money for the future.
3140  Other / Off-topic / Re: Share Good Movies Please? on: June 02, 2021, 10:55:27 AM
Not sure if many people here are into super heroes movies but I am a huge fan of the DC universe, the characters are so much darker than marvel, its great. The first justice league movie was kind of meh, too much story and too little time. I am so glad that Zack Synder made a directors cut version of the movie. If you like super heroes and 4 hours isn't too long for you, it's a must watch.
