3181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan’s Internet Giant Could Control Six Percent Of Bitcoin Mining on: September 09, 2017, 05:23:51 PM
This is the first real big challenge to the Chinese miners.

first?
have you seen the hashrate distribution https://blockchain.info/pools
yes Chinese have big mining farms but most of the pools you see are pools where people from around the world can connect to. so it is not 100% Chinese despite it being a big percentage.
also there are mining farms in other countries. like the ~5% hashrate of BitFury coming from Georgia
Bitclub.Network ~5% from Iceland
Slush ~4% Czech Republic
3182  Economy / Speculation / Re: To all hodlers on: September 09, 2017, 04:51:41 PM
Dear hodlers, I have some junk products to sell you, all you have to do is bring in more people to buy your stuff and you have to buy my junk at a premium. Doesn't this sound like an amazing opportunity to buy a Lambo? I will be the first one to buy a Lambo though, you just have to hodl  Grin

Ironic, you want to say bitcoin is a titan scam but people already knew it's not. We see lots of economy professors are investing in bitcoin. They also explain bitcoin on tv shows. Then saying it's a junk is only invalid.

I wouldnt want to say the protocol is junk, because it is really innovative stuff, the coin however is completely worthless.

if you really thought that bitcoin is "completely worthless" and "junk" then you wouldn't have been here in first place. it is pretty simple!

you don't see me hanging around altcoin forums such as
https://litecointalk.io
https://forum.ethereum.org/
https://www.reddcointalk.org
....
because I have no interest nor any investment in any of them long enough for me to want to waste my precious time hanging in any of these places. I know they exist simply because I goggled a couple of the top of my mind and I have seen they exist in the past 3 years.

and you have been around in this forum from at least 2013 Wink
3183  Economy / Speculation / Re: another day, another dip, another buy the dip on: September 09, 2017, 04:37:20 PM
it is good to be cautious now. it is the weekend and we may see the news by the end of it for another FUD wave and panic sells in order to test the resistances once more and then try for the rise once again. it will be a pretty interesting month ahead of us though.

Any opinion about NEO? Will it fall more? What do you think?

why is it that so many people are talking about NEO these days?
I have to admit this coin has been pretty interesting with more interesting swings. I dare say they are wild swings. I rode 2 of them recently for a nice amount of profit.

for its future I think for now the wild swings are going to continue until people become more cautious first before the direction becomes clear.
3184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is Back! Is Craig Wright an Imposter or Brilliant Marketer? on: September 09, 2017, 09:01:05 AM
Some of the smartest people mislead and are dishonest to move agendas forward - and simultaneously do good. think of almost any politician! They all do it.

someone who uses deceive as his method is pushing his own personal agenda and will simultaneously want to do good for himself not for others. pretty words don't justify actions. and yes that is what politics looks like, they show a happy front, all smiling and full of pretty words and then in reality they are abusing you.

I have heard what he says and things he is proposing, his vision is not only not-interesting but also it is more harmful than you think!
3185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin selling at $3600 on major Chinese exchanges on: September 09, 2017, 08:36:17 AM
it has been the same, even a much bigger gap back when PBoC closed all Chinese exchanges for a couple of months. by that time the price dropped hard in CNY but it kept the USD value pretty much up. and then when the rise started in USD, the Chinese exchanges still stayed low and the gap grew big as the CNY progress was much slower than USD.

this is all proof that USD is the dominant market as it has always been. irregardless of how much noise Chinese and CNY market makes.
3186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I will celebrate the day China bans bitcoin for real on: September 09, 2017, 07:44:21 AM
... but I fear I won't be able to celebrate that day ever Cry

if you have been around for a while then you have already seen a couple of dumps like yesterday's which are mostly starting the same! some fake news, or some exaggerated news is coming out from China and then panic begins! it has been like this ever since 2013 at least. someone farts in China and there is a tsunami on bitcoin exchanges in USD (although yesterday was small wave). Grin

I don't know how many of you, who are panic selling are Chinese that care so much about Chinese news?

anyways, now my of my wishes is that China finally bans bitcoin for real so we can stop talking about it. it is just getting too old. and FUDsters are getting lazy too. they can just copy paste last month's FUD and just change the number in it with current price!
3187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FAKE CHINESE NEWS, DO NOT SELL FROM FEAR, HODL TO THE MOON on: September 09, 2017, 07:33:40 AM
history repeats itself... over and over again. and each time people seem to have Alzheimer's disease and forget the last time it happened. my grandmother has a better memory than that!

Chinese talk about eliminating illegal activities that criminals are doing and the news oversees says China is banning bitcoin. that is really absurd and it is getting see through now because of over-usage. and yet it seems to be effective.
which raises the question that maybe people like it this way. maybe they are all aware of how fake this is but they intentionally spread it and dump it to make more profit.
3188  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do you guys think the November Split will affect price? on: September 08, 2017, 10:06:05 AM
price of BTC Core?
what the hell is BTC core?!! are you coming up with weird names yourself or is there some propaganda somewhere that you either fell for it or are a part of it? which one is it?

it is called bitcoin and it has always been bitcoin and it will always be bitcoin. anything else other than bitcoin is an altcoin.

Umm.. Have you seen the latest bitcoin qt wallet? When it loads up it says "Bitcoin Core" proudly before it opens.

have you seen latest version of Armory? when it loads up it says "Bitcoin Armory" proudly before it opens.
have you seen Bitcoin Knots? when it loads up it says "Bitcoin Knots" proudly before it opens.
have you seen Electrum? when it loads up it says "Electrum" proudly before it opens.
have you seen Blockchain.info? when it loads up it says "Blockchain.info" proudly right on top.
have you seen Multibit? when it loads up it says "Multibit" proudly on top of it.
have you seen Trezor? when it loads up it says "Trezor" proudly on it.
have you seen Coinbase? when it loads up it says "Coinbase" proudly on each page of it.
have you seen bitaddress.org (paper wallet)? when it loads up it says "bitaddress.org " proudly on top of the page.

I can name more and post screenshots of each of these. do you think we should call bitcoin, BTC Electrum? BTC Armory? or maybe BTC Blockchain.info?
3189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SPLITTING BLOCK CHAIN-- ALTERNATE WAY of PUMP? on: September 08, 2017, 08:29:01 AM
A month ago Bitcoin developers done a hard fork and made Bitcoin o BITCOIN and BitCoin CASH.
bitcoin developers? they have no power. they are employees who are coding for bitcoin!

it was a certain group of people with money to advertise it, with hashpower to mine it, and with motivations to overtake bitcoin and make it centralized.

the fork didn't make "BITCOIN and BitCoin CASH". the fork just made a new chain called bitcoin cash.
bitcoin is still intact and the same as before. the forks from bitcoin happened in the past too. this is not the first fork. others usually make a separate chain and make their blockchain from scratch instead of building on top of old blocks.
for example bitcore (BTX) is a fork of bitcoin with SegWit and 20 MB blocks and 2 minute block time (IIRC). you can get the airdrop of that the same as you get air drop of BCH. 1:1

Quote
Bitcoin cash owners sold it in market and made money because its like a an airdrop, making Bitcoin cash lose value put in to a bear run(dump)
not really!
some traders invested their coins in exchanges before the fork and dumped it right away.
some people who were more advanced waited for the fork and then claimed their coins safely
but majority are either scare, confused, or don't care about claiming it yet.
some also think it will go up so they are holding.

if it were anything but the above, BCH price would have been 0 by now!

Quote
The received money from bitcoin cash selling  got reinvested in to buying bitcoin.. make it it in a bull run(pump)
so technically, SPLIT COIN to 1 & 2 - DUMP coin 2 - MAKE MONEY -PUMP Coin 1.
NO!
simply because if you have BCH and want BTC you sell BCH on the BCH/BTC market and get bitcoin in return and pay fees only once.
you never sell BCH for USD then use USD to buy BTC. that is dumb and you will end up paying 2 trading fees!
in other words it had no effect on bitcoin price.
3190  Economy / Economics / Re: Some things to consider before starting a business on: September 08, 2017, 08:15:49 AM
in my opinion it will all come down to your experience and your team (if it is a team business with employees,...). if you have some prior experience in running a business even a small one, or have studied some courses and have some knowledge in the field, that will help a lot.
starting a business may sound easy at first but in practice you will start encountering lots of issues, small and big. and by that time you can only manage the business and lead it to success if you know how to deal with each situation individually. and that requires experience.

Also, do you guys think BTC Cash is a good long term investment? Seeing rises of around 25% in just 2 days, quite impressive.
altcoins are never good long term investments. they never survive the passage of time. look at some charts over the 1+ years period and you can see how the "rises" which are in fact pumps only go on for a short time.

now compare those charts with bitcoin chart over 1+ years. you can see the overall rise is pretty obvious on the charts despite all the ups and downs in short term.
3192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Volatility Not Controlled Due to Decentralization? on: September 08, 2017, 07:51:37 AM
it is all about supply and demand it will always be about that everywhere.
what centralized things do, like what government do to control them is in fact controlling this supply and demand. for example if the price of something is going high too fast they issue that thing more (increase the supply) to manage the price better, and if it is falling they reduce the supply or place fake demand for it.

for example, where I live, a couple of years ago, local currency value started going down against dollar. in other words dollar price was going up very fast. the central bank started injecting some dollar into the market to manage this speed of rise a little and the prevented the huge price rise to some extent.

so you are correct about saying centralization can control the high volatility but at the same time a decentralize market doesn't have to be volatile just because it is decentralized. the supply and demand can grow too big and reach an equilibrium that prevents this kind of high volatility on its own.
3193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you have some BTCs, why not have some Gold too? on: September 08, 2017, 07:44:02 AM
if you have extra money you can buy bitcoin   gold and $
bitcoin best way
gold you must be rich
$  need to pay more

you don't really have to be rich to buy gold though!
it can be a simple ring for your finger or a small necklace. or where I live there are these special gold coins that are issued by the central bank and are fully trusted. there are different types and the smallest one is pretty cheap and anyone can easily buy it. I believe similar things are available in other countries too. you can buy those for a small amount of money!
3194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not Just for the Money! on: September 08, 2017, 07:36:48 AM
in a perfect world that would have been true, people would have been using bitcoin for bitcoin not for more fiat. but we are not living in a perfect world. because of that most people will inevitably be in it only for the money. but that is not such a bad thing if you ask me. it still helps bitcoin move forward, the more popular bitcoin gets the more of a currency bitcoin will become. and slowly as the currency part of bitcoin becomes more bold, those who were in it for bitcoin will start realizing other things. and see the technology behind it too.
3195  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 satoshi = 1 US cent? In next 5 years? on: September 07, 2017, 06:15:36 AM
no. That's just the dream of many people. Bitcoin value is arround 5k$ is max

saying $5000 is the max is just as dumb as saying bitcoin will be worth $1 million in a couple of years.
neither of these will happen.

the fact is, 1 million dollar is also possible but it will take a very long time to get there. and it needs a lot more adoption than just a couple of countries adopting bitcoin as a currency. it also needs a bigger scaling solution to enable bitcoin to handle much more transactions. and all of these take a long time. possibly even 10+ years.
3196  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase wallet on: September 07, 2017, 05:52:43 AM
Would you think that coinbase wallet is more secure for stock for bitcoin?
no it is not.
cold storage such as paper wallet or a hardware wallet is more secure. in fact anything else even a desktop wallet is more secure than a third party web wallet that you don't even have access to the private keys.

Quote
And is there any possibility to lost my btc from coinbase wallet?
yes there are many possibilities:
- you account can get hacked
- their system may have a flaw in it that leaks your account
- they can someday decide that you are using coinbase against their TOS (like gambling) and block your account
- they can turn into scam and run away.
3197  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Secrets? on: September 07, 2017, 05:35:47 AM
Im curious but are there trading secrets that experienced traders or smart traders have where they dont disclose to the public?
and what makes you think they are going to reveal all those "secrets" to you here, just because you asked?
 Smiley

Quote
We all know the buy low and sell high concept.  But are there traders who know a few things where regular ppl or even advanced users do not know?
some things just don't fit in words. you can explain them easily. you have to experience them. start trading with a small amount and you will learn a lot more than I can tell you in a couple of lines.

Quote
im wondering if there are secrets in trading coins that very few ppl know about and where disclosing it out in public is not a good idea.
there aren't really any secrets! you are overthinking things. it is all normal stuff and then the added benefit of experience as I said above. and again experience is not something that someone can explain to you. you have to gain it yourself.
3198  Economy / Speculation / Re: Assume the worst, governments ban BTC and implement their own Blockchain. on: September 07, 2017, 05:08:04 AM
no bro, I am sorry that you missed the chance to buy bitcoin but now it won't go down to certain prices. you should have thought ahead and bought back when it was lower instead of trying to come up with tinfoil hat scenarios where a price drop may be possible so you can buy back at a price that slipped through your fingers Wink

also I should add that the Monero price pump is temporary and as much as I like that coin, it will go down and the future can not be so good and easy for coins like it because they are making shady activity easy for shady people and nobody wants that!
3199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Profits and the Bubbles on: September 07, 2017, 05:01:16 AM
I guess with bitcoin people are going to continue saying stuff without thinking about them.
a couple of years ago it was "bitcoin is dead because price is falling to $200", then it turned into "bitcoin is going to die after halving because miners will leave", then it turned into "bitcoin will never reach $1200 (ATH) ever again" and when it stayed over $1250 it turned into "this looks like 2013 and is a bubble" and this year it seems like the word "bubble" is mindlessly being repeated by everyone. it is like the word of the year Grin
3200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of Blockchain? on: September 06, 2017, 02:00:59 PM
so far blockchain technology is the following:
- bitcoin as the biggest thing that anyone knows. it is on a large scale, a lot of users, a lot of usages, and high value.
- altcoins which have many innovations among them. but majority of them are pump and dumps wasting resources to just exist and have a value that goes up and down with manipulation. the good projects are dying because they fail to pump and dump.
- banks and other financial groups working on making their own centralized blockchains. this can also help improve but since it will be closed source I wouldn't keep my hopes up.

obviously each of these have room to grow even more. bitcoin to get adopted more and add new features, altcoins to explore the new territories that are beyond bitcoin's scope and they are.
