3181  Economy / Speculation / Re: the icos are the cause of the fall of bitcoin? on: June 28, 2018, 03:47:21 PM
one of my theories about the current bitcoin price fall is like this. since this fall is not a normal one in my opinion there has to be other reasons including manipulation and altcoin dumps.

ICOs and altcoins alike are losing value and that is a huge amount of money that is exiting their respective markets. during a dump like this, it is always big players that are cashing out their money. what they do is that they sell their tokens/altcoins for bitcoin and then sell that bitcoin for fiat. and that can bring bitcoin price down also.
3182  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 'exhausted' at $6k - 'bottoming process' could sink crypto to $4k on: June 27, 2018, 03:13:18 PM
This news may share some investors out there. Many believes that the price will not get this low. Let’s see if the price really drops like this in future .

Well i've seen a lot saying the price will go around 3k so saying the bottom could be 4k is a little bit conservative. Too bad for the people who can't hold for a longer time. Be ready to see a more bloody market.

just because random people are saying random numbers as their "prediction" it doesn't mean it is a real "prediction". if i tell you 100 times every day with 100 different accounts that price is going to $100k will you believe it? then why are you believing the low price bullshit?
3183  Economy / Trading Discussion / if you want to learn how to trade then start NOW on: June 27, 2018, 02:40:48 PM
i always say that the best way of learning "how to trade" is to start doing it yourself. you won't learn anything by following others, reading stuff online and doing nothing. you have to get your hands dirty.
one of the good things about cryptocurrency market is that the exchanges allow you to start trading with a small amount. there are even exchanges out there that allow orders as small as 0.00001000BTC which is about 6 US cents! you can invest about $10 and start your trading journey and gain experience.

so why NOW is the best time?
it is the best time because prices are falling and there isn't any pumps going on in the altcoin market. for instance if you have started trading last year, if you closed your eye and chose an altcoin to invest in then no matter what you chose it would have gone up and you would have made profit. but that doesn't make you an expert. instead it gives you a false sense of being an expert which will be more harmful in the long run when the  dumps come (you can see how many people are currently crying about it on bitcointalk and telling everyone how they should have "patience" which is a big mistake).

BUT if you start now, you have to make good decisions otherwise you lose money. so you learn the most important lesson and that is decision making for example in choosing the right entry point and the right exit point.
and if you make the wrong mistake there is no safety net (pump) to cover your ass. which is why you will be forced to learn. and that can help you in the long run.

and know this: even in this dropping market you can still make profit
3184  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Twitter is a double-edged sword on: June 27, 2018, 02:26:24 PM
i still think social media platforms such as Twitter that anybody can post on without having any expertise are not a good place to go to if you want to "gain experience" about trading.
almost all of the tweets that you see on twitter are biased. and majority of them are advertising the coins/tokens that they are holding themselves and wish to go up.

if you want to gain experience in trading i suggest two things: first tradingview.com website which is a much better place than twitter although it is still mostly biased.
second is the market itself. go get your feet wet. you can start with a very tiny amount of money like 10 bucks to start trading cryptocurrencies and learn the tricks.

specially if you start trading NOW you can gain a lot more experience because prices are falling. when you start during a pumping season you buy some random altcoin and its price goes up you may end up with a false sense of expertise. but not now that prices are falling. you must make good choices and learn timing which is the most important thing for your exits and enter alike.
(actually i am going to start a topic about this here)
3185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will probably reach 4500-5000, following seasonality pattern. on: June 27, 2018, 02:15:42 PM
although bitcoin price will get down in July/August, I am not too worry about this because as far as I remember, in July/August last year, the altcoin is getting an increase so high so no matter if bitcoin is down, we can get another profit from altcoin. and after the altcoin gets a party, then it's the time for bitcoin to show the power to increase because, in the last year, bitcoin start to increase after September and still increase until at the end of the year. so maybe it will repeat like this in this year.

Problem with this year is that every coin has huge resistance, because of mass growth in late 2017. Which certainly means that it wont happen again that fast, as coins needs to reach new aths with extreme resistance. That's why i don't expect bitcoin to reach 20k this year, maybe more like 10-15k max if we get very very luckey.

The only way for bitcoin to grow again is for world mass media to report on it, like it happened  in late 2017 the mass media was constantly reporting on bitcoin new ath price...

you should not even compare bitcoin with other altcoins.
their resistances are very different.  when bitcoin has a resistance it is because when all things are said and done it still has usages as a currency apart from being a speculation tool. but when it comes to altcoins the reason why they have resistance is because some bag holders think just because bitcoin has gone up from 0 to 20k their shitcoin can also do the same!

rising has little to do with the resistance too. we may see a reversal just because some fresh money comes in after some big news and price can shoot up to $20k (i don't think it is going to happen but just pointing out that resistance has nothing to do with it).
3186  Economy / Speculation / Re: TETHER 'PRINTED' 250,000,000 USD, WILL BITCOIN PRICE RISE? on: June 27, 2018, 02:07:15 PM
no it won't have any effect and it never had any effects not now and not before and not ever in the future. it may have contributed to some hype last year since people kept repeating the same bullshit so people speculating a rise because of new Tether coins bought bitcoin and price went up.

but the funny thing is they have been printing Tether like always but it only hits the news now. you just found one of many cases and so far even during the drops they have been printing new USDT and price still dropped. and during rise they printed new USDT and price still rose.

in short market is doing its thing with or without tether.
3187  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: helpful tools to analyze BTC-TX on: June 27, 2018, 01:54:38 PM
clarify what you mean by "analyze"?

is it to break apart a transaction hex aka decode it and see its details? like the decode-tx feature that most block explorers offer?

or do you mean something like blockchain analysis that follows the transactions and links wallets together? like what walletexplorer does?
3188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook reversing bitcoin and crypto ban - just going to be more responsible on: June 27, 2018, 01:51:24 PM
this is more like bad news rather than good one in my opinion.

first of all it proves that the ban had nothing to do with bitcoin price drop otherwise bitcoin should have risen above $7.5k because of this unban news. this proves yet again that this drop has been a pure manipulation

second of all it opened up way for the same scams to come back and continue their work on Facebook platform! so nothing is going to even change.
3189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to HODL or not ? on: June 27, 2018, 01:44:35 PM
this is exactly why you should never hold  any altcoin for long term. there is no exception for their dumps. it WILL come eventually and it will come hard.

in case of BTG you got unlucky because it not only got dumped hard but also it was attacked (51% attack) that wiped the chain and it got dumped even harder.

that is the story with altcoins they have lots of bugs even the big ones and they will come out and cause mass panic and dumps like this.
3190  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the right time to buy Bitcoin? Give me your suggestion on: June 27, 2018, 01:38:32 PM
any time is a good time to buy bitcoin even if the price goes down after you bought because bitcoin has real potential and the adoption is still ongoing and in the long run like always price is going to be higher.
but you don't have to invest all the money you want to invest all at once. do  it in multiple orders. spread them at different levels.

I'm not sure about bitcoin yet, but I'm sure with Ethereum.

LOL, nice joke bro.
3191  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000,000 by 2028 on: June 26, 2018, 04:26:58 PM
apart from speculating about whether this is going to happen or not, the fact that it would become weird if that happened regarding the fact that 1 satoshi (the smallest unit of bitcoin) will be worth $0.10 and we may get to that point where we may start feeling the need to split satoshis to smaller units.
3192  Economy / Economics / Re: you gotta wonder why they are worried about your money! on: June 26, 2018, 03:27:53 PM
Or they could be the whales trying to create FUD around the forum so that we will go and sell out coins to them! Lolz!

maybe true.
but i really don't think a whale that has a lot of funds at his disposal is going to waste his time by commenting on a forum. you can be more effective spending that time in the market placing walls and executing manipulative orders.
3193  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs the top 100coins/tokens. Why do they behave the same? on: June 26, 2018, 03:09:55 PM
being in top ## has nothing to do with it be it top 100 or top 200. in fact there is a nice exception to it which may clarify the answer to. the exception is that whenever that altcoin (it can be #1 altcoin or #2000) is getting pumped (if it is during its pump) nothing can stop it. so for example when bitcoin was dropping the other day it may have seemed that all the altcoins are following it but if you looked closely you could have found at least 5 others that are rising (aka getting pumped).

now the reason for following bitcoin down during its drops is that people use altcoins for pump and dumps only so whenever bitcoin is going down they will always pull their money out of altcoins to come join the bitcoin movement and benefit from the bitcoin market.
altcoins always shine when bitcoin is stable because there is no profit to be made from a stable market so they go to altcoins and pump them to make profit.
3194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much damaged bitcoin has brought you? on: June 26, 2018, 02:58:08 PM
bitcoin doesn't bring any damage to anyone.

if you are experiencing any "damage" or losses then it is not bitcoin's fault it is your own fault for entering a market without understanding it and without using proper cautions that are mandatory of any sort of investment.
3195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency In China: Bitcoin Drops To 17th Rank on: June 26, 2018, 02:43:45 PM
since when are even talking about what Chinese government talks about cyrptocurrencies?

Chinese cryptocurrency market is the most broken thing. at first they had this chaotic market where the exchanges faked everything including volume and price and they were involved in a lot of illegal activity including money laundering. then they closed their exchanges and talked about bans. now that they have concluded their research on cryptocurrencies they are not categorizing them based on how they can control them.
3196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: do you hear about the recent hack? on: June 26, 2018, 02:33:56 PM
hacks are pretty common and they have always been common nearly as long as computers have been around. in crypto-world there is also one case of hack at least every week and sometimes they are too big that they make the news but most of them are not even worth talking about like these tiny exchanges that get hacked which OP is talking about. and they won't affect price of anything ever.
3197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If states truly would want to get rid of cryptocurrencies on: June 26, 2018, 02:25:36 PM
Let's say they are successful, then they must sustain this attack for it to be affective.  Roll Eyes This news will then trigger a shift of mining power to other Alt coins and also investment capital moving to these coins. <A lot of these coins do not rely on POW>  Wink

I doubt that a successful 51% attack would lead to money moving from BTC to non-PoW alts.
If there really should be such an attack (double spendings, rewriting blockchain, ..) the most probable outcome (in my eyes) would be that the whole crypto market would suffer heavily.

It doesn't matter if such an attack happens on bcash (or any other PoW coin). But if it would happen to bitcoin, the price would probably dump pretty hard.
Since this would lead to a heavy monetary loss for the miners (especially bitmain), i doubt that this will happen to btc.

the problem with non-PoW altcoins is that they are usually more flawed than PoW coins. for instance take PoS coins. they are literary the "Rich get Richer" schemes.
in PoW you have to literary work for new coins but in PoS you just have to be rich to become richer just by having coins.
3198  Economy / Economics / Re: you gotta wonder why they are worried about your money! on: June 25, 2018, 04:11:08 PM
Good thinking! I am still worried that we, the ones figuring this out, are too few compared to the Bitcointalk users (and even more, the people owning Bitcoin).
I posted a couple of times about this but I feel like too few have read that. So more posts about this, the merrier.

100s of threads were made by newbie accounts on "omg Bitcoin will get to 100k USD in a year" all November.
100s of threads were made by newbie accounts on "omg Bitcoin will get to 4k USD" all January.
And this was here on bitcointalk.

But, nooo, there was no manipulation at all. Or maybe, a little...

Just thinking out loud, it's not that I am disputing what you are saying but have you also considered if this same 100s of newbie accounts are not your usual Btctalk members shitposting for some bounty campaign to increase the number of posts they have and not necessarily spreading FUD?

you are not wrong. there is a lot of different reasons for topics like that, including the shitposters who are just increasing their post number. it even is possible that some of them are thinking that way for real. but the point is how many of them do you think are legit and how many are spreading FUD or what they think is FUD? i'd say most of them are the later.
3199  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin value on: June 25, 2018, 03:25:47 PM
The value of Bitcoin is still very high.
"high" is so abstract. high compared to what? i can say price of a Lambo is high, i want it to be worth $1 but it will never happen!

value is a concept that comes from utility and demand. and bitcoin has a lot of utility and its demand is increasing. on top of that its supply is small and also limited which makes it even more valuable.
the current price is too low considering.

Quote
Some problems of bitcoin are difficult to solve as :
- Slow transaction speed
transactions take 3 to 5 seconds to reach their  destinations so saying "slow transaction speed" is just bullshit.

Quote
- consumes a lot of energy
again "a lot" compared to what? i can say 1 KWh is a lot too and someone else can say a million times that is small.
bitcoin is not wasting the energy. it is using that energy to provide a useful utility: the one and only decentralized currency in the whole world! if it consumes 10000 times the current energy it is still worth it.

Quote
- It is banned in some countries
yeah 3 out of 195 (1.5%) have banned bitcoin. this is not a problem. even if 195 out of 195 countries have banned bitcoin it still wouldn't have been a problem because bitcoin is a decentralized currency and that is not just a word. if you don't understand what that means read about it to get how valuable it is.

Quote
- Price manipulated
price manipulation happen in every single market that have existed in human history. you can't say it is a "bitcoin problem".

Quote
Is there a sustainable future for bitcoin and cryptocurrency ?
Bitcoin will become the coin of payment as its purpose is created. Or is it just a game of whales? A financial game with winners and losers
bitcoin is already a currency that is being used my thousands of people every day. a lot of them are using it also as an investment but that doesn't change the fact that it is a currency.
the future is just more adoption, more growth, higher price, more stability, better features,...
3200  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will not perish on: June 25, 2018, 03:17:10 PM
can bitcoin perish? yes. but there is a big BUT here.

BUT as long as bitcoin has usages it will stay alive and strong. and each day its adoption will increase and that will make it much stronger which will also increase its price. bitcoin is new and it is good so it will retain its usefulness for many years.
i don't expect bitcoin to even start looking obsolete for at least 100 years. possibly more because it is flexible and can adapt.
