I recognize understanding of the settings is becoming an issue as our user base grows. We have a lot on our plates right now but I will make it a priority to put something together to help explain each of the settings and the effect changes on each one have on the trading strategy as a whole.

I hope this will be helpful.

Hello all,

I've properly configured BB for trading on BTC-e, but I don't know what the "Bitstamp Client ID" is for Bitstamp.  I left it blank and as you might guess, it doesn't trade.  I *have* read everything I can find without an answer.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Randy :=),
The "client ID" is your client number/username.

Please let me know if you need anything at all.

This is of some interest to me but what I'm wondering is how you plan to compete with snapcard, all4btc etc and what plans you have to innovate and evolve your service.

Our operating plan is pretty simple, we put a strong emphasis on customer service and focus on developing an order flow that can be completed in it's entirety in one day. Competing sites have well known poor and slow customer service, we have not one single negative comment on our thread.

I have not been able to devote my full attention to Bitsumo because a lot of my working time is being devoted to Butter-Bot; regardless, Bitsumo nets about 1k USD a month pretty steadily, that is with no advertising. I plan to focus my attention on Bitsumo in the coming months as my other projects wind down. This is one of the core reasons the equity is so cheap. It bears repeating however that we have a stellar reputation and profit has been steady for several months now.

Hope that answers your questions.

What investor funds need for ?
new hardware ? new software ?
or you simple sell stake in web site profit ?

Hi Smiley

First off, it's not for me but on behalf of an early investor who does not have a forum account. No operating funds are needed, we have a high daily operating reserve. This investor wishes to cash out her equity, that's it.

Any estimated time to release the update? <3

The beta over the next couple of days :=).

Depending on how it goes with the Beta team, I would say a couple of weeks.

We will have the LTC Beta coming out most likely by next Friday. I would like to ask for Beta testing volunteers; anyone interested on getting in on this, please drop me an email Smiley.

Please keep in mind that beta's may have unforeseen bugs and other issues and we can not be responsible for any negative results experienced by early testers; having said that, the new release is rocking Smiley.

I've been playing with my own settings and getting good results using single threshold trading (by making all threshold 1's "-50") in the current market. I know you guys are discussing this, it's quite interesting to observe.

The difference lies on how fast Butter will act on market changes, we have two thresholds to slow down trading and have Butter trade on more established trends, this single threshold setting seems interesting for those who have a higher risk, shorter term reward profile.

@ Pablo

You once mentioned that ButterBot takes about 160 or 165 SMA samples to generate the first EMA value. I have tried various amounts but never seem to be able to replicate the exact same EMA values as butterbot.

Could you ask around about this?

I am compiling a Month to Month Minute accurate excel sheet to distribute on the forum so we can run various kinds of math against the past. But so far I am having a hard time replicating the ButterBot EMA samples. (I'd like it to match the real butter rather than be an approximation).
@ Pablo
Did you get around to investigating the SMA samples?

Puerto,
Email me so we can discuss it in detail Smiley.

Hasn't been any replies for a while. Is this service still running and performing well?

Hi Smiley,
We are working full steam ahead :=).

We did run into a small inconvenience last week when one of our main credit cards was cloned, so until early next week when we receive our replacement card, we can only place PayPal orders. After we receive our new card we will be placing credit card orders as normal again :=).

Please let me know if you need anything at all.

Pablo.
Cloned? Wow. ouch.

Good to see you're still up, didn't get bitspend'd!

I maintain that what happened with Bitspend was a long con. We got whacked for 10k in fraud on our card but the bank reverses all fraudulent transactions and returns the money within 72 hours. The only reason we are not doing CC orders right now is not lack of funds but rather that we have to wait for the physical card to be issued.

Also, we do not use customer funds to place orders, we have a high daily operating reserve so even if the 10k were not returned to us, we would take a hit but we could return all customer monies.

I hope that makes sense, please let me know if you need anything at all :=).

Does the TSL work even when the bot is disabled? (or is the disabled portion simply for testing?)

Hi PuertoLibre Smiley,

When Butter is disabled, everything is disabled.

You can have the same effect as keeping TSL active as well as testing but no trading by having really high threshold values, like 50 on each threshold.

Hope that helps,
  Pablo.
338  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: January 17, 2014, 11:43:08 PM
Is this a good setting's for use?

Not so much...

The thing you want to look at is not the profit that you WOULD have made over the past year (the market has changed significantly since then) but look at settings that give you a decent return over the last week balanced against returns over the last month, and then pay attention to those and modify them weekly (or not, just depending) just to keep them fine tuned for profit.

On the other hand I am developing a system currently with using butter-bot solely as a trailing stop loss...

I will let you know how that goes.

To use Butter as a TSL only use very high settings, like 50 (not .5, 50) on each of your thresholds so that they will never trigger and then just use TSL normally.

Please keep in mind that when TSL is triggered it shuts off Butter so you need to reset it manually afterwords.

Hope that helps Smiley.

With all the talk about trial software.....

Pablo should probably turn the trial software into a simulation.

Unlimited time, but your account won't actually trade in real life. As long as you keep it open it will trade imaginary numbers but nothing actually goes out to the exchange API's. Just simple math.

If a person tried the simulation then after some unknown period of time, they would be able to fine tune the settings and see the ongoing results of their changes. If it convinces them, they buy the software license, if not, no harm no foul.

Pablo should also implement profiles (I believe it's on the board already) so that users can openly exchange settings either out in the open or between each other. Giving newbies to the ButterBot simulator(formerly trial software) some "settings" which they can see results within a reasonable period of time.

It will also help everyone figure out what kinds of changes makes sense and why it works better than another setting.

==============================

One "problem" with the backtesting feature is that it doesn't really give you a clue as to why one setting works spectacularly while other settings work downright terrible.

People turn to BitCoinWisdom because it gives them a visual representation of the last 900 update cycles. It lets people do the tweaking and only in one dimension.

It would be nice if there was eventually a fully supported website by the butter bot team that shows users (interactively) what different settings do when they are changed. Letting the casual simulator or licensed user of Butter bot focus in on what could be improved on.

Allowing you to:
Change the tick settings with vertical highlights,
Change EMA's all four EMA pairs with highlights that spots where crossovers occured in the past based on your chosen settings,
Change the EMA's pairs and see how many spikes and drops were taken advantage of in a given period of time.
Change the periods of update to see what is more advantageous.

In other words interactive, visual and dynamic so people can figure out what the numbers actually mean and what changes with each setting.

===========================

Pablo's team should also (geeze one too many ideas) focus in on a little addon to find the heart beats of the market. Both the large ones and the smaller ones.

Not incredibly, if you look over the graphs (RTBTC/BitCoinWisdom etc) you can find the timing of various bots that do large trades at pretty precise intervals. Allowing you to time your own buys and sells (or butter bot) with that in mind.

I can always count on PuertoLibre for the good ideas Smiley,

Turning the demo into a simulation only software after the trial expires is an interesting idea, there is the issue of server load as a lot of people actually demo the software every week and an open ended simulation may put added stress on the network; this is something I will definitely bring up with the dev team.

The second idea is actually pretty great, about 20% of my weekly email load refers to what EMA settings mean and what effect changes have on them. This is something I would personally like to se developed and I think it will be very useful to everyone if they could understand the meaning of each setting and how this affect Butter dynamically. This is something I think we can look at as soon as we push out some of the major upcoming features (like LTC). Like I said, I love this idea Smiley.

As to the third idea: We will be reworking the trading engine to work with added indicators so this may have a similar effect, I will look into this in more depth.

Thank you for the suggestions, be sure to keep them coming Smiley.
