It's almost been six month and still no refund from Ken. No one answers the phone or emails. My Order Reference is SXWTSYTQH. Not that I think I will get a refund let alone an honest reply.

They left their pool settings in Sorehammer's video at 5:20

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzSBwW21kBw

Two things.  One, they could have that there as the default pool.  Which is how Antminers come, until you set them, they mine for Bitmain.  Second, if they ARE mining with everyone equipment then we don't really have to worry about the difficulty going up when people start getting their hardware, as it's already been factored in.

As Hiro pointed out in his previous posts, he is currently helping the Darkcoin team incorporate some of the features that are already in Hirocoin to allow Dark to be more resilient.  I think this is helpful as Dark succeeds, it's likely that when Hiro returns to this coin (Which he will) and continues to work on it, that it will bring some people that are currently invested with Dark over.

Hiro is tied to this coin, it's his "baby" so to speak, and he is going to continue to improve it and make it better.  This coin is not abandoned, nor will it be.  It's tied to Hiro's reputation and he's not going to let it fail.  He can't control the way the market reacts to things and different coins, but he can continue to work on and improve the coin so that when others fail, this one will remain viable.

Everyone wants immediate profits, but sometimes you have to take a risk on a long bet when the prices are low.  If you have faith in the developer, and seen the work he's already done, you'll know this coin is going to go places.  It's just not going to be today, but it will happen.*

* Unless Hiro dies or gets drafted in the army, then all bets are off.

Why so anxious for the update?  It'll just say they aren't shipping yet.  I know, I spoiled it.  Sorry.
325  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: June 11, 2014, 09:40:18 PM
I'm waiting on the RE-BOX.  Can mine or be worn as a shoe.

Either way, when these things get out of testing and into reseller hands, that would be great.  I would think you should be able to mine on a PC as well as a Pie.
326  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: June 11, 2014, 09:28:50 PM
I have some shares and on those prices I'm not selling. I better loose them all instead of getting 0.00000650 BTC for each...

That's why you wait for the MSD to come to terms with Ken over what the refund amount should be, so you get refunded fully what you paid for the shares.
327  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: June 11, 2014, 08:54:46 PM
I have yet to be shown concrete proof Ken is scamming or that the sky is falling.

Until then,

 SAOR ALBA.

Seriously?  The MSD comes out and says it's a scam and you don't think that is evidence?  What kind of evidence would you accept?  Ken himself admitting it was a scam?

Did you draw those charts?  You should go outside and get some fresh air.  You've spent too much time on this.

The goal was necessarily to just cut the supply to create more value for each coin. The idea was to create a defensive mechanism for HIRO by cutting supply when demand is low to keep the same price.

I see.  But it makes mining less attractive as the difficulty goes up.  So as already mentioned, it favors large groups and you end up with a 51% or worse.

I've said it before, but the only reason people will invest in a coin is if it has some practical value to them over the other choices.  This coin does not distinguish itself from the others in a way that is meaningful for anyone.  A different algo, but this means nothing to the consumer of the coin.

Maybe come up with a better way to do anonymous transactions.  Right now you either have the method that makes the blockchain huge, or you have the Masternode idea.  But I am thinking masternodes will run afoul of the SEC.  If you are taking money to operate a system that exchanges currency, you are going to be considered a money-transmitter and FinCen is going to go shut you down.  Masternodes will eventually fail once attention is brought to DRK (And any other coin using it) if they continue with this bad idea.

Someone needs to come up with an algo that supports anonymous transactions by design, and not by having cash exchangers (masternodes) and not blowing up the block chain.  Get that, and then you become the #2 coin.  Maybe eventually #1.

Black Arrow has shown that if there is good news, they will post it right away.

So the Thursday update is likely not to contain any good news.  Just more delays.

If the X3 problem was fixed, they'd of told us by now.  Just like they did with the X1 problem.

331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][0.8.6] Hirocoin - X11 - NGW - Secured Blockchain - Time Warp Limitation on: June 11, 2014, 03:12:44 PM
Creating more coins as the difficulty goes up will benefit miners, but it doesn't benefit the coin's value if you are increasing supply of the coins.  Look at DarkCoin, it restricted supply by cutting the number of generated coins over the lifetime, and created Masternodes to absorb many of the current coins.  That shot the price way up.

Consider tying transaction fees to held coins.  For every coin I hold, I get some portion of the transaction fees.   This would give an incentive to hold coins, making them more scarce and increasing their value.

This only concerns people if they are aware that their actions are helping money laundering...[/b]so...

No it does not.  That's the point.  If you are involved in purposely hiding large transactions (Regardless of legality) which causes those transactions to avoid regulatory filing, you are in violation.  It's like 5 years max in jail...

Anyway, I'm not going to beat the horse to death.  I know everyone wants to not worry about this and have the price go up. I want the price to go up to, so I'll leave it alone.  But if some lawyer happens to browse through this forum here and reads this, how about chiming in with some opinions on what the law says regarding this topic.  The armchair lawyers (Me included) have no idea.

Otherwise, back to arguing about closed source vs open source or whatever the topic was before this.  Didn't mean to derail that thrilling topic.

It's about "purposely" hiding the transactions
Transactions are a private, not public, concept, by nature.

I'm hiding my dick right now by wearing pants. Does that make me a rapist or child molester??

Some things are inherently private. My money and what I do with it falls into that category.

I am not obligated to expose it, nor would I if compelled. Those attempting to compel me will wish they hadn't for a few seconds before being robbed of the ability to think about it anymore by BEING DEAD.

See how extreme that gets? I'd rather just keep it private so I don't have to kill people... Its too much paperwork...

You are obligated to expose it if your dick is worth $10,000.  That's the law.  If you structure your pants to hide your dick so it doesn't get reported, you go to jail for hiding your big dick.  Congratulations, enjoy the attention it gets you in prison.

Whether you agree with the laws or not, they are the laws we have to live with.  We don't live in some law free universe simply because we operate with unregulated currency.

money laundering bollocks

Don't take this the wrong way, but you're an idiot.

Nobody has banned cash, nobody is going to ban ecash.

And FYI the rest of the world doesn't give a shit about the US and it's comedy government anyway, we're too busy being almost, but not quite, as economically buggered up ourselves.

It's not about banning cash or ecash.  It's about "purposely" hiding the transactions (Whether legal or illegal) which may run afoul of the money laundering laws.  That's why a lawyer and not some "idiot" like you should take a look at the design of DRK and where it is headed and make a determination on whether it does or not.  So investments like mine and ours are not screwed if there is a crackdown on something that somebody didn't think of.  I think it makes perfect sense to investigate this now before it all gets too far down the road to fix it if something isn't right.

Also, you might look at your own laws...  http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/MLR/   Which are just as wild.

Doesn't the fact that the, us gov't anyway, regards crypto as "property" and not a "currency" make the money laundering laws inapplicable?

People launder money through property all the time.

This is a really good, and old, article that goes into depth on the subject.  It's worth a read...

Don't take this as FUD as I'm an owner of a significant amount of DarkCoin.  However, I wonder if anyone has considered that running a Masternode is going to run afoul of the "Money Laundering Control Act" that makes money laundering a federal crime in the U.S..  Specifically if you intend to purposely hide where money is coming from-and-going you will run into trouble.  Serious trouble really.

It's akin to running an operation where someone goes to the bank, takes a bunch of money, brings it over to you.  You mix it up with other people's money, and give them the mixed up money instead.  <-- This is illegal.  Regardless if it is built into the coin itself, you've made a choice to launder the money by operating as a Masternode.

I realize that we're talking about DRK here and not FIAT, but I doubt the Fed will care in what method you are doing it, only that you are doing it period.

Someone should probably talk to a lawyer who is familiar with money laundering rules and see if this would run into problems or not.  It might be good to know beforehand, so that if Masternode operators are arrested for money laundering that it doesn't crash the coin.  This is likely not just a United States issue either, money laundering is typically illegal everywhere.

Guys, the WiFi is not for the consumer.  It's for the NSA wiretapping only.
338  Economy / Securities / Re: [Active Mining] The UNofficial Active Mining Discussion Thread [UNmoderated] on: June 10, 2014, 05:43:11 PM
That is kind of the confusing bit of the MSD order.  They ordered the officers not to conduct shares business.  Other members of the company (Such as the lawyer, or the unknown project manager) could talk to us in the forum, as they are not barred from doing so.  But because the company is basically Ken, and they have barred him from doing shares business, he can't talk about it.

I think he will talk again, when they come to terms with the MSD.  I know if it was me, and I was looking at potential jail time for breaking the order of a cease and desist, that I wouldn't say anything.

I agree with your other points about being a scammer.  It plays into his favor, but it's not like if the guy were to come out and say anything that it would be meaningful anyway.  He doesn't have a track record of providing any sort of useful information and if he did say anything, it'd be countering someone's argument over whether he wears a headpiece or not.  Completely ignoring anyone's requests for constructive information.

The owners of People's ASIC have long since moved on based on their LinkedIn profiles.  My guess is though that the "project manager" which is likely the kid working at the data center and his friend, are the only two employees Ken has on payroll.
