This is catastrophic....
322  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poll: Do you think a new plastic card issuer will be found after wavecrest off? on: January 23, 2018, 08:52:11 PM
I think solution will not be so easy.

If I understood correctly, VISA were shut down outside SEPA since August, and nothing has been done in 5 months.

I've a bad feeling

Thanks for your opinions

Their MasterCards have just been terminated by Wavecrest:

Quote
23 January 2018
Closure of the Wave Crest Card Program

Unfortunately we have to let you know that Wave Crest, our current card solution provider, is unilaterally shutting down our card program. New virtual and plastic cards are no longer issued to any users whether or not they are EEA/SEPA area residents.

Please make sure you have read and understood the info below:

- you will not be able to fund currently active plastic and virtual cards after Feb 9, 2018

- all existing plastic and virtual cards will be closed on March 27, 2018

- currently ATM withdrawals are allowed with a daily limit of EUR 1000 / USD 1000 in SEPA countries and EUR 500 / USD 500 outside the SEPA zone

- there are no new limits concerning POS transactions in shops

All plastic and virtual cards will be reissued for free after we implement the card platform from our new provider which is about to happen soon.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

this is a tragic news to me. It was my only way of converting/spending around a bit of cryptos.
Now I have to decide before 9th of feb how much I want to convert until 27 of march...
325  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Visa crackdown on bitcoin debit card providers - Jan 2018 on: January 23, 2018, 05:15:30 PM
this is the worst news you could give to me, now i am in a real trouble!
326  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Whats your opinion about btc debits card future? We have any alternative now? on: January 19, 2018, 11:33:18 PM
are you serious?
I know this goes against crypto ideology, but I think cryptos have only to say thanks to those services that give an immediate usefulness to BTC.
Should I, for the love of technology, use something that costs me $20 on every money transfer, and at least 20 minutes?

I don't think so.

The fees were never that high, they became like this in the last few weeks/months while these services existed for some years now and they will be fixed. Everyone is free to use whatever he wants really but I see no use for Bitcoin If you're willing to to give your personal information's etc. just to use bitcoin. I rather wait more services to implement SegWit then doing this.
There is a debit card that I found about just last night for crypto in which it uses the lightening network.
But with segwit almost all of the older ones have done the switch over already including Wirex.
https://wirexapp.com/segwit-bitcoin-wallet-update

I had a wirex card. It lasted 10 days, then disabled like all others.
please try again  Smiley

anyway, if you want to buy a sandwich with bitcoin, or also pay an hooker like Mcafee, we need those services.

nothing represented to me the real value of a bitcoin, like when the first money came out of an ATM. That was a milestone for me.

And, I am not an anomity paranoid. If I was, i'd use other king of coins specifically made for that
328  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Whats your opinion about btc debits card future? We have any alternative now? on: January 17, 2018, 11:53:18 AM
We're good this way and in my opinion, this just proves that people doesn't care about the technology but rather they want to get rich quickly and they will sell everything they have when time comes because If not, how would you explain people using Bitcoin because of the transaction fees, anonymity, speed etc. using these cards which are directly related to the banking system that represents the total opposite of bitcoin. I don't support them but as an alternative, you have UQUID or If you're from the U.S, there is Bitpay card.

329  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Mistertango - Bitcoin friendly European Bank Account + free MasterCard on: January 08, 2018, 06:39:51 PM
Does this service offer a "bitcoin wallet" with ability to convert BTC-fiat on the fly only when needed?

I want to know to answer as well, planning to get a mistertango card, but still no idea how to send bitcoin to mistertango account as there is no such info on it.

Anyone?

EDIT: Okay, I just registered an acccount and saw the BTC → EUR bitcoin address on right top.

ok, but can you decide to keep BTC or they are converted as soon es you deposit them?

Until now, I only did 2 ATM withdrawals, no POS use.

Don't think there is a way to avoid the fees. I try to load medium-large amounts. their rates are slightly better than wirex ones, but wirex had a much better interface

How do you guys experience the functions of ADVCash today?

Used it for a long time in the SEPA.

At the moment I am unable to withdraw money from the european ATM's, today I was able to do one withdrawl with a maximum of 250 eur (before 2x 1500 daily). The last days I was not able to withdraw more than 250 a day before an error at the popped up to contact my card supllier.

Normally the ADV support was lightningfast but now they haven't responded to my ticket for over 2 days, their service is 'unavailable' by phone.

I should not be affected by the mastercard issue due to being in the EU, what is your recent experience with ADV?

this not sounds good to me.
I made an ATM withdraw saturday, but it was only 200 so I dunno for higher values. Later I'll try to withdraw 400
332  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2017 Bitcoin Debit Card Reviews on: January 08, 2018, 12:49:07 PM
I use the card since 10 days ago, loaded 2 times with a few hundreds of euros and works, I don't like the immediate fiat conversion of all funds. But exchange rates look slightly better than wirex rates

Sorry but which exactly card are you referring to?

Advcash

No I don't think BRL is BTC.

Please ADVCASH give us a BTC wallet!

I have a working Advcash but the conversion is immediate when you deposit.

How do you get a working card?? What is it, a Mastercard?

yes, it's a mastercard

Try Mistertango and their free MasterCard. Now that Wave Crest cards are no longer valid, that’s one alternative to consider.

Does mistertango offer bitcoin wallet and ability to convert on the fly?
338  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2017 Bitcoin Debit Card Reviews on: January 06, 2018, 08:37:46 PM
I did have my cards shut down, they were all issued by wavecrest.

So what are the best alternatives now? I sent some emails, but it's in all honesty quite the jungle out there. I liked XAPO for being registered in Switzerland. Bitwala out of Germany. Is there stable companies out there?
And which ones function like XAPO (did), where the balance is drawn from the crypto balance? I.e. no preloading and preconversion?

+1

I am also interested in an alternative card with no preconversion. I have a working Advcash but the conversion is immediate when you deposit.

Please if someone at advcash is reading this thread, add a BTC wallet and your sarvice will become 50% better...

btw, what is zapwallettxes ?
340  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Visa crackdown on bitcoin debit card providers - Jan 2018 on: January 05, 2018, 11:27:25 PM
Don't think ADvcash is by wavecrest, anyway it's a mastercard, I have it

edit, I just checked, that's a wavecrest like you said.

To be honest I don't have used it today so I dunno if it's working, but no warning emails have arrived from advcash
