ANNOUNCE

Mass editing of pool credentials is now available for mass renters  Grin
Now we just need mass edit for rig price as renters (preferably in BTC/MH/day)

Keep up the great work Mux - this service is growing smoothly :]

USEast still experiencing a large number of rejects? Throwing around 14.5MH/s at the server right now and getting 1.7MH/s in rejects, which is way higher than normal
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - www.middlecoin.com on: February 07, 2014, 05:06:13 PM
No, I want the pool to be 100% stable. It's plenty big enough to work now, adding tons of little miners who don't have 50MH each just causes a lot of server traffic.
As the owner of a brick-and-mortar company that does work for businesses, as opposed to individuals, and mostly decent-sized corporations, there is something to this big miner vs small miner thing.

If I were to start a pool, honestly, I'd probably design it to attract larger miners (10MH+) and discourage smaller ones.  Providing support to a small number of large customers is SO much easier and more lucrative than a ton of small ones.
Could do it with fees that vary based on average MH/s... Problem is people who have the MH/s, however, are also renting it out, thus they may have 25MH/s for a few hours, only to drop to 4 when most of their stuff is rented. Keeping things stable for 100-200 "big" users is a lot easier than designing a DB that doesn't bog down when there are thousands of simultaneous requests.

Hi my mom just gave me my pocket money and im thinking of buying this.

Im going to run CPU miner, how much BTC will i make a day?

haha... BTC isn't even divisible down to that (yet) so I suppose it's 0.00BTC per day. Not sure if he was trolling with that eBay post or not, however, if he wasn't, I'd say save your money and put it towards something that will help you out later in life, like for college/an apartment/car/whatever. Many of us got into this as a hobby, expecting to make our money back in a year or so (if ever)... It wasn't really until November that profits from mining could actually become a "job"... The problem is the cost of entry is already quite high if you want to make anything worthwhile. A standard 4 card rig pushing 2500Kh/s is only making around $20-22 a day after power costs, and costs $1600+ to build with the scarcity of GPUs these days. In order to make $100 a day, you are looking at around $8000 minimum... and that's assuming you have the circuits available, a way to cool the space, know how to build and configure the computers, etc... Once you get much beyond 20MH or so, you start to need a dedicated power panel, even better cooling, switches to network everything together, redundant power arrays... now you're talking over $20,000 easy.

Just wanted to take a few minutes to officially introduce my middlecoin stats website.

Some of you may have seen it already before, I know I've seen it linked at least once here before.  The official link to the site has moved now to http://middlecoin.info .  The site was previously operating on http://mc.vegr.com, but after being asked for the link to it more than enough times, I decided it was time to move away from recycling an old domain and registered something that should be easy to remember.

Its certainly not perfect, but hopefully many of you will find the site useful, it is mostly a pet project that I started simply for my own purposes but thought others would find it useful and decided to share.

I work on it as time permits, but any feature requests I am very happy to add to the list and I will do my best to implement.

I've mostly been a lurker of the bitcointalk forums, but feel free to send me any feedback or hate mail here.  Otherwise, you can also find me as Syde on freenode in #middlecoin.
Thanks again for developing this site :] It's by far my favorite for stats, as it provides data (like BTC/hr and BTC/MH/day) that I used to have to calculate manually.

Has anyone had an issue yet where a bad pool will get CGminer "stuck" at 0% on all cards? Rig doesn't crash, however, need to manually restart mining operations. This is on BAMT, however, the older 1.1 revision, which uses CGminer.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - www.middlecoin.com on: February 05, 2014, 06:37:36 PM
I wonder why balance  jumped up a bunch two hours ago without a corresponding drop in unexchanged or immature.

strange...
more manual trades being imported, or exchanging a new coin that wasn't yet listed (thus wouldn't show up in unexchanged) like MEOW is my guess :]

Edit: or because your graphs got "squished" horizontally when the whole WWW thing happened earlier, thus we are further along into the day than the graphs report, and the slope of the line is not as great, as there are more hours to spread out the gain over
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - 400 Mh/s currently rented! on: February 05, 2014, 06:08:13 PM
When you sent more than you should have, most likely the automated system didn't know how to handle it and never marked you as "paid". Moving forward I would recommend a local wallet, that way you don't have to worry about any minimums like BTC-e has.

I'm sure Mux will get to your ticket, however, he said it would be in another day or two, as he's busy with other stuff right now. He said he would service these types of tickets earlier, however, only if the amount is something appreciable, like >0.1BTC... You're talking about $8.00 Tongue
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - 400 Mh/s rented just now!! on: February 05, 2014, 07:08:30 AM
I want to mine Vertcoin in the rig I will rent. But problem is Vertcoin cant be mined on ordinary miners it has a modified cgminer for download.Have a look:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=404364.msg...

Rig owner must have this modified miner otherwise mining cant be done. Can Betarigs support department set this up properly?

i don't see that happening...

They can do it if they want.Wont they do it if I pay them a little extra?
I think you have a chance with someone with 1 or 2 rigs who might be willing to do that. Best best is to shoot them a PM ahead of time on here, that way when you rent, they will know to change the miner. For the bigger guys, they are usually worried most about stability across multiple machines... it's not worth the time of configuring multiple instances of a miner when you have 10-20+ machines that need to be watched.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: February 05, 2014, 04:41:50 AM
So if you average out the past 4 days (since the last big payout), it looks like around 0.0122 BTC/MH/day or so, right? (For USEast) Usually I keep my own stats, however, the past few days I've been splitting between MC and renting, so my MH on MC is very tough to average :-/
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - Lease and rent mining rigs! on: February 04, 2014, 06:22:57 PM
I've got 100% accurate payments since I joined 28-1-2014
Same here, however, all it takes is one missed letter and your payments will get stuck. Posting the blockchain transaction should clear any doubt up over what happened to the funds.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - Lease and rent mining rigs! on: February 04, 2014, 04:19:26 PM
Dev when will you change this retarded Deposit system!
Just create 1 ballance on account so you dont need to make a new deposit everytime u rent something.

Lost another payment again. grrrrrrrrrrrr
created a ticket!

CHANGE THIS STUPID SYSTEM DEV!!!

relax! this is beta!
beta means "not productive"!!! keep that in mind.

I think with all the tiny flaws it is working pretty great already, so give Mux some time to come up with solutions.
aso keep in mind that depositin btc into the account requires security implementations, since you don't want to loose your coins through a DB error or hack!
Agreed... what if someone deposits 20 BTC (or more) into their account as they want to rent 200MH/s+ a day ? Right now (other than the long 7 day leases) there isn't that much BTC Mux has to worry about potentially losing. Changing the system to accepting payment after seen by a few nodes would increase speed and is a lot safer to implement than allowing users a local wallet.  I like the idea of a local wallet too, however doing it securely is another mater...
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - Lease and rent mining rigs! on: February 04, 2014, 07:27:01 AM
Mux, would you consider the option to allow communication with previous renters, at least to some small extent?
I had stability and performance issues with my machine and ended up wasting a guy's time, but he was really nice.

I got my machine hashing to a point that I can deliver on what cgwatcher is actually saying.
I'd like to throw the hours to that guy which he originally set out to rent Smiley
Agreed, I have a renter who should have either a free hour or a partial refund, however, now that the rent is over, it is very difficult to contact him/her :/
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - Lease and rent mining rigs! on: February 03, 2014, 06:26:36 PM
Just a heads up to anyone renting under 0.0145 BTC/MH/day... you can make more straight mining DOGE (after the most recent difficulty decrease)

I love having my rigs rented out as much as anyone, however, going below 0.0145 BTC/MH/day makes no sense right now, as instead of getting a premium for renting, you are making less than if you just mined for yourself :-/
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - Lease and rent mining rigs! on: February 03, 2014, 02:50:23 AM
how would i go over combining the hashrate of 2 mining rigs on 1 betarig account?
Just enter the same user name (EX: John-Smith-786) for multiple machines :] When the "rig" is rented, both will go to work on whatever pool the renter points them at.

This is how some people are renting huge (20 or 30MH/s) blocks under one "rig"
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - Lease and rent mining rigs! on: February 03, 2014, 01:59:18 AM
I noticed that I'm able to see only the latest message from the customer.

I think it would be useful to see at least 5-10 last messages if not all of them without checking email notifications.
Agreed, threading the messages would definitely help :]
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - Lease and rent mining rigs! on: February 03, 2014, 12:09:57 AM
@JBardey, are you sure you're talking about the 'number of BTC per 1 MH per day' or are you displaying your total payout? The BTC/MH/day number makes it easy to compare your 'profits'/income with others/other pools/other coins because it doesn't factor in your total hashrate.

Suppose you've received 0.1 BTC from Middlecoin at a given day and you have been hashing for 24 hours at 4 MH/s than you have made 0.1/4=0.025 BTC/MH/day.

BTC/MHs/Day as I stated. E.g. 2014/01/30 0.04258367 payout / 4Mh/s = ~0.0105 (0.0106 with more decimal places).

Seems significantly lower than what you posted is all, curious as to where I'm going wrong. We're all on the same pool on the same days.
Don't want to further derail this from Betarigs talk, however, different Middlecoin servers do better than other ones... Eventually they will all be equal, however, at least for now certain ones do better than others (usually EU and USEast are better than default and Asia)
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - Lease and rent mining rigs! on: February 02, 2014, 07:28:05 PM
Mux,

Just had a renter raise a valid point... He rented for 2 days, however, it only shows up as "1 day". I know it's actually 1 day 23 hour 59 min, however, if you displayed both day and hours that would help clear up any confusion :]
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - Lease and rent mining rigs! on: February 02, 2014, 03:21:41 PM
is this legit? had anyone already tried cashing out?
Betarigs? Yeah, Mux sends the payments every 12-24 hours after your lease finished. He also has a payment/renter history on the site so you can make sure everything checks out
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - Lease and rent mining rigs! on: February 02, 2014, 03:09:49 PM
This is a joke. Renting price is higher what you can actually earn per day. Scammers!!!

Don't worry, looks like the race to the bottom is on. Best day on Middlecoin has been about 0.013BTC/Mh/Day. We're currently at 0.0155 cheapest.
Then you missed the days of 0.02 BTC/Mh/Day on USEast a week or so back Tongue
