361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Lease and rent mining rigs - As simple as adding a pool! on: January 28, 2014, 10:45:08 PM
I rented Mining rig #88 Dragons Den with 2.8 Mh/s but pool reports only 1.2-1.3Mh/s. It's running for more than 1 hour now so it should be pretty stable but it's not :/

Although you aren't renting my rig I have to comment on this.  My rig mines at the Kh/s advertised but today when I rented it out I am getting allot more rejected than I normally see.  They are all tagged
<Worker is not authorized>

I would guess this has something to do with the way our Miners are getting forwarded to renters pools.  You could try to change the server you rented to a different pool and see if that helps.

I am Rig #34 Minecraft Smiley

I'm seeing much more rejected, too. there might be too much latency between me, betarigs, then the pool.
Is this because Betarigs is in EU, however, you are leasing a server (potentially) in another place (like the US), to a renter who is somewhere totally different (like Australia). This would introduce quite a bit of latency... Solution would be to offer additional Betarig servers eventually, one in NA, maybe another in Asia
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 28, 2014, 07:37:17 PM
i tried different servers of MC and nothing worked!!!! no hash rate no stats and so on

i tried hashing at other pools and everything works fine !!!  Clearly he is robbing people without knowing it. I mean can anybody here comes up a explanation of what's happening in the pics i posted??!!?

i call this what it is, robbing hash rate blaming on a bug( sorry he hasn't even acknowledge it even exists, you know phase one of robbery)  yet  unless someone can explain what happened to the hashrare?!

Stop blindly trusting h20 and judge him based on his actions instead

Except the problem with your theory is that only you and luxuria are having problems.

So he is just robbing two people with approximately 2 Mhs?

I judge people accurately, not based off of one person's current problem with the pool.
With difficulty of 1024, hashrate will fluctuate more, however, if nothing is showing up then something is wrong, most likely on your end. It makes no sense to "rob" people with 1 rig when there are quite a few with 20+ MH/s who you could take 5-10% potentially from without them noticing (which would add up to what he is supposedly "taking" from you).

More likely is your computers are infected and the mining is being redirected to a different address, or your configs are wrong. If this was a widespread issue, the people who are normally making $500+ a day would be livid on here.

Unfortunately, with the size of the pool right now, I doubt H2O will respond to you individually... he's busy enough keeping the ship above water with regards to the DB I/O issues. In fact, having a few less miners would appeal to most of the bigger players here
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 27, 2014, 01:42:45 AM
Hi,

How much would I  get for 4 MH/s in 1 day approx? I checked here (http://www.middlecoin.com/allusers.html) but I'm not sure what column should I look. Plus, all numbers are different. Can sbdy help a noob mining? Thanks
0.06btcish.
Yup, today payout will be around 0.016 BTC per MH/s, however, that is still higher than "normal"... I'd say anything over 0.05 with 4 MH/s I would consider a decent day :]
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 26, 2014, 09:02:29 PM
Another vote for Teamviewer here... works great on Windows 7/8 as well as the BAMT distro of Linux (plus many other mining distros)
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 25, 2014, 03:30:37 PM

Yup...

There should be middlecoin-haters thread so all people could have their frustration there.
Then we could have constructive thread here.

How is airing grievances with the stat issue not "constructive"?  We all pay our 3% to H2o.  Do you believe it is not sane to expect the stats to work daily and to not have issues every 24-48 hours??

The Middlecoin stats DB have become the cryptocoin equivalent to the Obamacare website.  Pay a ton of money into it and it still breaks constantly.
Maybe H2O IS the government... O.o

But in all seriousness, as the number of miners (and thus new data points) continues to grow, we will probably continue to experience issues with the DB until it's rewritten to be less I/O intense. As long as my miners are getting accepted shares / my payouts are near where they should be I'm not worried, however, I do understand the frustration some users are feeling over the consistency of these (minor) issues.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 24, 2014, 02:56:11 AM
Payout was around 0.0185BTC per MH today, which was even better than yesterday (makes sense as DOGE went back up, however, difficulty hasn't moved much). Now we just need BTC to increase in value again :]
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 23, 2014, 05:44:57 AM
I also got a payout, my graph has been stuck all day though.

mine too, any story on why?

h20 hates graphs
Haha, probably true :] The real reason is most likely because he did something on the back-end that "broke" the software that renders the graphs (which H2O doesn't control). Payout was fine and other sites like the one I linked before are updating normally
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 23, 2014, 03:50:56 AM
This can go on all night lol, there are always more ways than one to look at it.

I'm off to bed.

21 mh/s crew!  Grin
At least this is slightly more entertaining to read than the "H2O IS STEALING FROM YOU" BS that usually starts flying around this time Tongue

Personal graphs are still stuck for me (actually they just haven't updated), however, stats from bfpcoin.com (among other ones that process the raw data) are up to date and accurate from what I can tell. Payout today looks to be around 0.0173BTC per MH/s or so, which is still higher than we've been experiencing.

ASIC's are something everyone needs to come to terms with. The financial incentive wasn't there when LTC was $2-3, however, now those capital costs in development are a lot more attractive. The first round I'm not worried about, and even long-term, until memory gets faster, the differences won't be as large as some think. Power consumption (heat) on the other hand is what many of us are looking forward to... I like GPU's because they have utility (value) outside mining, however, if I can hash faster with less heat/power consumption to worry about, then that's attractive too.

For those worried about the competitive nature of mining... that's the name of the game. There will always be people with over 100x my hashing power, and I recognize that. Likewise, not everyone can afford to even run a 25-30 GPU setup. While we all wish we were H2O, or the guy with 150+ MH/s, that doesn't get you anywhere in life. Also, to the person who said it's just as easy to manage multiple rigs vs 1 or 2 GPUs... not when you have way more parts to clean / configure / make sure they are always working

369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 22, 2014, 10:23:48 PM
The 1000 mhash person was a botnet. Microsoft just patched it out the same time the 1000 mhash miner disappeared.

Source: http://www.coindesk.com/microsoft-destroys-bitcoin-mining-botnet-sefnit/

"Microsoft has gone on the offensive against the ‘Sefnit’ botnet and it has remotely removed an older version of the Tor Browser from an estimated two million computers.

Sefnit is a curious form of Tor-based malware that managed to infect millions of computers and turn them into zombies for click fraud and bitcoin mining"

H2O said he knew this person and confirmed it was NOT a botnet. Another lie found out from H2O!

To be honest I thought it was a Botnet right away, Who on earth could afford to plow so much money into hashing power so fast, Trouble is , I'm now worried their tactics have changed and it's hidden in plain sight , I've lost a ton of hashing power since yesterday, And for the life of me can't see where it's gone.

I have a feeling your hashrate issues are still tied to your power outtage.  You probably burnt out your boards' VRMs or blew a few capacitors that reduced how long they could run at full tilt.  The power outtage didn't kill your rigs outright, but it did handicap your boards for endurance.

I definitely wouldn't blame the spooky high hashrate boogeyman botnet in the closet Wink
That's why a windows install didn't help all that much and why noone else is seeing the same hashrate drop you are.
Agreed, if you are still having issues then I would jump pools for a few hours and see if you notice the same there (then it's you) or you're back to normal (probably a connection issue to Middlecoin). If this was a widespread thing I can guarantee the people who have 20+ MH farms would be up in arms over where their hashing power was going.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 07:08:44 PM
Dont expect this dogecoin bubble to last longer than a few days. This might end up as one of the most sucessful pump and dump scams in history.
...and in the meantime we make double the BTC we usually do (if not more than double)... Still fail to see the problem, as at the end of the day we are left with BTC, not DOGE.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 06:18:46 PM
OMG!!!   Shocked

I have more in my unexchanged than I do in my balance . . . and my balance is almost as high already as it was at payout last night.

What a nightmare!!!  I'm going to be inundated by profits!!

Whatever you do, DON'T JOIN THIS POOL!!!!  you will be cursed with much coin.
Yeah, this is bringing back bad memories of those DOGE days back in mid December when each rig was making $45-55 a day Tongue
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 05:11:13 PM
my has has dropped recently too, but my temps are stable, and i should be at 4.5mhash or so, im reporting 3.7 right now. 3 hour looks ok though.

Thanks for the info, I hope its not permanent because i will kill whoever caused the power cut if thats the case, I was previously using Multiminer , Now its not hashing close to what it was.

I switched back to Cgminer but it hasn't helped, Surely mining a different coin couldn't cause such a difference ?

I've got a horrid feeling the cards performance have dropped due to damage from the power cut, Because surges aren't good for them are they ?, I spent a lot of money on my PSU, And a decent surge protected extension lead.
Usually a brownout is what causes the damage; a blackout usually doesn't cause any issues (Though keeping the computers on a UPS is ideal)

Are the hashrates lower on one card, or are all the cards hashing slower?  Usually if there's an issue with a card it won't even show up.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 04:39:16 PM
Looks like a lot of those unexchanged are selling.  Gonna be a heck of a payday today!

Bring it on!! I'm afraid to go to sleep incase a rig goes down..
Nothing like waking up to see a rig's been down almost all night because of an ethernet address conflict... Still beating yesterday even minus a rig lol
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 07:24:26 AM
Yeah about 6.2K a month give or take.  Electricity is about 1 - 1.2K a month though.  I have about 43K into mining hardware and electricity it if you count pre-orders that haven't arrived.  If I sold all of my coins today I would be up 9.4K after expenses and still have a bunch of video cards to ebay.  I am hoping that 2014 will be a very good year.

Here are the last 14 days BTC numbers with almost the same hash rate.  I have numbers all the way back to early August, but I just finished adding cards a few weeks ago.  I will have 7 more cards coming up in a week or so when the RMA's come back.

The average rate is .217 BTC a day or just less than .01 per Mh/s.  I do spend a few hours a day on rig maintenance.  I was messing with BIOS's on some of my new R9 280's almost the entire weekend.  I guess the next focus is on going to be on reject rates.  Thanks for the advice.

Damn, is your power .40 a kwh?? That's crazy. My power is only .06 Smiley
Where do you get 0.06 ?!?!

I'm at 0.085 here after transmission charges + other fees, however, 0.06 must be hydro :]
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Fire] URGENT Rig shutdown just now with a flame, how to find fault ? on: January 21, 2014, 07:20:57 AM
The sparks / fires are usually caused by ripple capacitors for the VRAM exploding on startup :] I've had 2 Gigabyte 7950's do this so far, however, they both still work fine.

It's always the same... the rig shuts down without warning, then when you turn it back on... BOOM...

The good news is I never had an issue (so far) with rigs exploding while running.

I've had it happen on both powered and unpowered risers... usually the issue is just poor PCB layout in that not enough cooling air gets to this part of the board.

I've also destroyed 1 Mobo when this occurred and the other Mobo lost a PCI-E slot so be careful...

376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 04:00:02 AM
I still don't see the transaction in my wallet, it has almost always instant for me (100+ transactions) is there ever a delay in the transfers?  What is the maximum that it can take to see it?
What's your address? Does it show up fine on the blockchain?
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 03:24:04 AM
Holy DOGE lol... Amazing what a little publicity and a good cause can do :-) We just exchanged a lot of ours at over .220, which I think was a good move. It didn't get much higher than this when it was first introduced, and better to have happy pool miners with BTC than unhappy pool miners IF we held too long and ended up having to revise unexchanged down.

Something that some people new to this might not know... As DOGE continues to rise, more scrypt hashpower is being transferred to it. As a result, other scrypt coins will experience lower difficulty retargets, increasing scrypt/BTC profitability beyond just DOGE :]
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 02:52:44 AM
...and once again everything resolves itself (even before the conspiracy's started lol)

If you want to compare payouts, today was right around 0.0151 BTC per MH/s for me, which I'll gladly take.

I also finished the day with more unexchanged than I started with :] (Some may view this as more H2O can "steal", however, I'd rather we hold onto coins and sell them when they are near their peaks Tongue)
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 21, 2014, 12:27:13 AM
So if i was to join this pool, what can i expect? I really like the concept of being paid out directly into BTC without having to do much. Like the poster above me mentioned, that is exactly why I am ok paying his fee.

But some questions... If i start mining with say 2.2k mhash i should expect a payout once a day, as i should be able to mine enough alt coins with said hash rate in 24hours.

I realize there are some exchange delays, or so i think? So my question is how long should one be expected to wait before an initial payout? Once the 1st payout has gone through, does it become more regular (every 24hours)...

Thanks again for providing an awesome service (or so i think hehe) Grin Grin Grin

That's a lot of Frequently Asked Questions you're asking there!
I'll be nice and answer them (though the payout question changes daily)

Right now, 2.2MH/s (pretty average 3 or 4 card rig depending on what cards you are using) will make around 0.03 BTC a day

This totally varies based on the profitability of alt-coins, however, 0.013BTC per MH per day has been a pretty good figure recently.

Initial payout is when you reach 0.01BTC, so probably your first day with a 2.2MH/s rig. We have been floating some extra unexchanged recently, riding the wave that is DOGE, however, normally most of what you mine is exchanged within a day or two... three at the most. For every day after that, as long as you reach 0.01BTC you will get paid out, which, again, with a 2.2MH/s rig, should be every day (assuming you have good uptime)
380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 20, 2014, 07:02:14 AM
If we can kill off junk coins and make money on it, I think that's a bonus.

I can agree on that, sounds epic. Do you feel middlecoin will make the best decisions about which are pump'n'dump scamcoins to kill off and which are quality coins having implementations and advantages over LTC and BTC?

__

On to my reception and overview of 1024 pool difficulty.

For those of us with sub 2mh/s rigs, I feel we suffer. It takes my r9 290x at 962 kh/s anywhere from 45 seconds to over 2 minutes to complete one packet of work. It frequently takes my nVidia rig at 230kh/s over 10 minutes.

It appears that when a coin switches, that whole packet of work is rendered useless as cgminer starts to work on the new coin. If the coins switch enough, this adds up BIG TIME.

Below is an image of my hashing at MC.
Orange stars = Before diff 1024
Green Star = After

After having done absolutely nothing to my rigs, why else could this be happening?

I would hope that the coins with strong fundamentals will be able to survive getting hit with multi-pool traffic, however, this is certainly a new frontier, and we can't discount the possibility that we may damage a "good" coin. Then again, we have examples of forks, 51% attacks, etc with BTC, FTC and others, and those are still around even after many posted about the "critical condition" they were in at the time. Heck, BTC has had so many times in its relatively short history when it's future was thrown into question, however, thus far it's always bounced back. We will damage a small coin if we mine it with the hashpower we have, however, there are a number of ways to mitigate this, through algorithms in the coins themselves to dynamically redistributing pool hashing power so that we don't so quickly overwhelm a "small" coin. Remember how long FTC was "stuck" when the exchange rate dropped and the difficulty was crazy high? Those dedicated to it banded together and made sure transactions still went through and the coin didn't die :]

Anyways, more relevant to your issue, the "slow" miners and higher difficulty shouldn't affect payout. I know it seems that way when you're working on a share for 8 minutes and then the pool switches coins, however, unless my 2am statistics brain is shot, the probability of solving does not increase with time (The likelihood that a block WAS solved increases with time until one is, however, the instantaneous probability doesn't). If you have a miner that just received work vs one that's hashing away for 8 minutes, assuming they are otherwise identical, both have an equal likelihood of solving at any one instant in time. Otherwise it's like saying it's more likely to flip a heads after you just flipped 3 tails in a row... nope still 50/50. Sometimes a miner will take less than a second, other times it will take an hour. That's where the whole "luck" thing comes into play.

That said, there's definitely an issue in your hashing if your accepted shares dropped that much after we went to 1024. Without having experienced the same issue it's tough to hypothesize. I'll let you know tomorrow if I figure it out :]  May have to fire up the 135KH/s laptop to test with to see if I can replicate it
