321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins, exceeding BTC growth in 2019 on: June 11, 2019, 01:32:18 PM
growth is nice but they'still depend on btc from what I can see. It's difficult to see in which direction they will go related to bitcoin price, you can tell if fluctuation is huge but if there is a small fluctuation it's hard to see their direction. I would say they're less dependent compare to few years ago but dependency is still there and we can only see how it will change if they continue to show growth in the future without being affected by btc.
322  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin believers/investors are foolish or low IQ people ? on: June 11, 2019, 01:26:32 PM
Few months back when I was reading this forum, somebody said Bitcoin investors and supporters just think of Bitcoin $5000 or $10,000 or $40,000. They do not know anything.

$1 to $5000 in 10 years and Bitcoin people still say Bitcoin is an investment and not super-HYIP or ponzi.

My website: https://dangerousmother.com (for real world out there)

Talks of Bitcoin as global currency and Bitcoin taking over Gold and Silver.

Just like billionaire Warren Buffet who keeps saying buy Apple inc. shares and other shares and thereby pushing DOW Jones to 25000 with the help of financial cartel because people are too foolish and they believe in $1000 to $10,000 in 12 years.

I don't think IQ has nothing to do with it but there are people who would think anyone who believes in ____ (list any alt coin) has low IQ. I would suggest you ignore those people and focus on what's good for you.
323  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin transactions costs in the future on: June 10, 2019, 12:25:35 PM
Even using the renewable source of energy, you still need to cover the initial investments of the equipment used. So you still need to charge fee for every transaction, though you have the option to lower such charges. And in that regard, future bitcoin transaction fees might be lower as compared to current rates, even if you want to add more satoshis to accelerate your transaction.

pretty much this. I don't think it would be completey free but it can definitely be much lower if you're talking about using renewable energy. There is still cost associated with equipment that you'll have to purchase and their maintenance and so on but it would be much cheaper than today.
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still bother to engage non Bitcoiners? on: June 07, 2019, 04:59:20 PM
I was perusing another forum today with a long running cryptcurrency thread. To my non amazement they're still debating the nature of the whole thing in the exact same way they were 2-3-4-5 years ago. The same people are waiting to be convinced. The same people are trying to convince them.

This strikes me as a complete and utter waste of calories. I'd rather let people believe what they want. Me convincing them won't help anyone. They're not going to convince me of anything. My attitude is - crypto is here. You may as well sit back and see what happens as nothing I do, say or listen to will change it.

Are you still embroiled in debates with friends and internet creeps or have you let it slide?

it depends on who I'm speaking to and whether that person has shown any interest in the past. Eventually, they will transform when they see it everywhere they go and no, I don't believe that you can change other people views but you can only make the suggestion, whether or not they take it is up to them.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe that blockchain would empower the systems of the future? on: June 07, 2019, 04:54:27 PM
We have been seeing news about major industry players dabbling into blockchain technology since Bitcoin rose into popularity. Are they merely hyping the technology, or is it really worth all the media attention that it gets?

I think it has gotten plenty of media attention as of late and that is actually a great thing. People in every corner of the world are becoming aware of the blockchain and how it can improve their life while making it safer at the same time. I believe this powerful technology will make future safer in unimaginable ways and it's not just related to financial system but all other systems put together that improves our life in many different ways such as healthcare.
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop badmouthing new projects on: June 07, 2019, 04:47:15 PM
Many peoples have experienced scam projects, so most of them are pessimistic about new project.
Unless they can certain a new project is real, i think they won't say any good thing from it.
Even a good new project won't get trust from investors at first time and that is normal.

Positive critics is fine in my opinion and people have a right to express it. It allows others to learn from those projects so they don't repeat same mistakes.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Deceiving Rate of Bounty Campaign, New Form of Scam? on: June 06, 2019, 01:40:38 PM
If you read second post in that thread $0.03 price is mentioned. I'm not sure if it was done on purpose or he simply didn't bother to change it in op since it was posted within same hour.

328  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to explain blockchain/Bitcoin to millennials on: June 06, 2019, 01:10:26 PM
Hi, I'm not new to bitcoin & blockchain and I'm a full time trader with quite a little knowledge on tech background. I do trade cryptocurrency coins and studied a lot on blockchain technology. But I have a question, I always stumbled across this in my mind when people ask me why blockchain is the future, why should you care and buy?  Anybody can give me some tips and answer for this?

Would appreciate it.

If anyone is interested enough, they can learn about blockchain on their own. Understand bitcoin and blockchain are not the same thing which is what most people don't understand but if you educate them on an enterprise that have embedded blockchain without bitcoin it will interest them to learn more about it.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum will reach $ 2500 on: June 05, 2019, 12:52:58 PM
that's a high goal given it's at 10% of that price. If you say eth would reach $2,500 you're indirectly saying that btc would reach $25000+ by the end of this year. not far off in both cases.
330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Used Computer Equipment For CryptoCurrency Unsafe? on: June 05, 2019, 12:48:08 PM
that should be fine as long as you keep it just for storage and don't connect it to the internet. Just wipe it clean before using it. As mentioned earlier just because it's new doesn't mean it's safe from a virus.
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook shitty coin. Facebook selling information of their customers on: June 05, 2019, 12:45:06 PM
Of course, data confidentiality should come first for any company. But what do we see in reality? Mobile operators sell databases, sometimes it seems that even banks spread information about the contact information of their users. If Facebook adapts cryptocurrency payments, it will only help its rating. There previously were much info that Facebook confidentiality = zero, everyone can buy user's password, what r we gonna see if they launch crypto payment?

I'm not sure how that would be any different from what we see today. It seems data sharing is a new norm for businesses these days. People who will pay through crypto for customers' data are the same people who are paying through other means today. It could be a hit or a miss given their reputation is not what it used to be in the past.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs gonna phase out very soon? on: June 04, 2019, 12:08:12 PM
I have been playing into some few ICO projects lately, and the reality is that I lost a lot of money due to the domination of the bear market and uncertainty of the projects going forward.

As the old saying goes, more than 90% of those projects are either scams, failed to reach soft cap, or not getting any traction in the next few months or so.

Maybe it’s because ICOs are not regulated and investors like me holds all of the risks.

Until now, there are still new ICOs emerging. However, there are also new ones such as STOs (security token offerings), IEOs (initial exchange offerings), and so on. It seems that both STOs and IEOs are already being considered the next big thing in raising crypto funds for starters.

With their ongoing emergence, are ICOs gonna be over soon? Are they gonna saturate and may phase out due to projects turning to STOs and IEOs?

I wanna know about your thoughts regarding this one, and I would greatly appreciate it whether if you agree or not with my opinion. Thank you in advance.

They're moving towards IEO and I think that's going to replace ICO so eventually they will phase out altogether and transform into IEO.

334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This guy says crypto ruined his life but he spent it on a high risk lifestyle on: February 03, 2019, 06:26:15 AM
to be frank it sounds more like someone who is trying to make shit up about his history but it is not a far fetched thing either but in either case it is not about bitcoin or cryptocurrency or anything else. it was not "crypto" that ruined his (imaginary?) life but it was himself and his addictive personality. there are at least a couple of dozen people on this forum from early days who bought bitcoin at 1 cent and lower and became millionaires and they are not "ruined". the difference is in the personalities.

Yeah, I like there is no proof of anything he did but just a text which can be written by anyone. Bragging about it is probably not a smart move as it would attract all different kind of people so either way I'm not sure if that person is very smart.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DO WE NEED TO REGULATE ICOs? on: February 03, 2019, 06:22:25 AM
Yes, ICO regulation is necessary. In 2017-2018, investors indiscriminately gave their money to any project. There are a lot of scammers.

Yes, but there is no clear model of regulation, and I think only because of this, everything is so bad and such a large number of scam projects. Because of the tricks of fraudsters, many investors stopped investing in new projects altogether, because there is a big risk of losing their money.

It's not easy to regulate it. How do you stop scammers from creating new ico? you can't. You can use your best judgement as an invididual and let other know about it but I don't know what would be considered a clear model for regulation.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrencies be able to use for payment? on: February 03, 2019, 06:20:22 AM
Lots of blockchain team have developed blockchain and cryptocurrency for payment.

Will cryptocurrencies be able to use for payment?

Will it be useful and convenience?

Which coin do you think the best for payment in the near future?

There are many coins that will be used for payment in the future, we already have businesses who accept cryptocurrency as a payment method. However, I am not sure how often people use it vs fiat.
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to make investor interest to join ico on: February 03, 2019, 06:18:29 AM
Ask about marketing on ico project.
How to make investor interest at ico project and purchase ico..
Beside promote campaign and airdrop program, how we make investor interest for purchase.
Have you experience on ico marketing project?

Those are good marketing tools but whats most important is you need a team who can answer all questions promptly. If investors do not get prompt response they will immediately get turn off. Attractive graphics is also important as far as marketing is concerned. No one wants to invest in project whose graphic looks like it was created by a 10 yrs old.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mark Zuckerberg talking about blockchain on: February 01, 2019, 12:39:44 PM
It seems like the FB founder has nothing but positive things to say about blockchain technology.

There are rumours going around that he will release a cryptocurrency for use on WhatsApp, but given the privacy and censorship concerns over FB, I can't see many people going for it.

https://cryptomenow.com/mark-zuckerberg-believes-strongly-in-the-power-of-decentralization-and-blockchain/

I'm sure I saw somewhere earlier in 2018 that he was banning cryptocurrency related ads but now he is interested. I'm not sure about it and I don't know how it will affect his business but may be its just marketing plot given all the unfortunate mess he is going through.
339  Economy / Economics / Re: LESSONS FROM CRYPTO MARKET on: February 01, 2019, 12:37:26 PM
After a year, a lot of lessons that we did learn. There are 2 precious things that I think I should remember:

+ Fear
+ Greed

I learned that from my teacher, he said when you buy Bitcoin at 10k, it's then $12k your greed rises inside you and you don't want to take profit and expect more. Then, the downtrend is coming, BTC goes down to $8k, you'll be scared to cut loss, and what'll happen, you lose more while BTC drops to $4k.

So, we need to set up your expected profit point as well as the stoploss point.

How about you, what is your lesson?

easier to read than apply for most people but I would say your teacher was smart man who read good books. I'm pretty sure I've read that idea somewhere else so its not very original per say but its effective to know how to control your emotions and let them not get in the way but its important to pay attention to them since they can alarm you about things before they actually become obvious to you.
340  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Institutions secretly HODL Bitcoin? on: February 01, 2019, 12:30:48 PM
have you ever asked if some companies are seriously investing in Cryptos and still not talking about it?
They way crypto platform for Institutional client is been developed by the day is become an eye opener that there is serious interest
by companies but I guess anonymity is prefered

Huobi Launches a trading platform for institution https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/huobi-crypto-exchange-to-launch-institutional-trading-to-a-limited-group/

So do you think companies like NASDAQ is good for the market https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-11-27/nasdaq-is-said-to-pursue-bitcoin-futures-despite-plunging-prices

SO do you think Bitcoin will be the future all sometimes fade away?

Huobi MENA: www.huobimena.com
telegram: https://t.me/HBMENA

Completely. I don't think any company who is profit oriented would want to miss on cryptocurrency. There are some big companies who have kept it secret but you will find out about them sooner or later, they cannot hide it. Releasing that information can bring a lot of attention and affect the market before they want it to be affected. Offcourse, everyone knows about blockchain implementation in businesses which is rarely talked about.
