All the newbies - after watching this video carefully you simply cannot ignore Pepe cash. It is much more than just a funny joke.

Boy, is this weird.  I had no idea what this Pepe thing was about.  I read the first few posts and the last few posts in this thread, which weren't enlightening.
The Breitbart piece actually makes an effort to explain.
This looks pretty doge-ish.  Started as a kind of meme or joke among tech nerds, got a technical underpinning, and might or might not take off.
Right now about the only reason I would be interested in this is because I missed the alt pumps, LOL.
So apparently one needs to buy Pepes on tuxexchange, right?  I didn't find them on polo or bittrex.

Kinda Doge except this has more growth potential since Pepe cash has actual use and people are buying it because they want to use it. Some are traders but there are demand for users and even people who are newbies to crypto are buying Pepe cash on Tux exchange (I recall one person last time I checked the chat like 12 or so hours ago).
Also bear in mind, unlike bitcoin not to mention to Monero this coin is actually truly deflationary because they are organizing a burning offering to kek on regular basis which makes the circulating coins disappear and increasing demand combined with decreasing amount of coins available will basically force the price up. I can easily see this coin to increase like 100 times from the current value and add some FOMO we might be pretty big at some point.

Definitely Possible to make an insane amount of returns with this coin given all the current factors. Especially once someone like Polo recognizes the growing community behind this and the opportunity it presents and then adds it on their site.

Pepe + Polo + margin trading = Other orbit.

Alphas are rare of kind. Therefore I am presenting here my table of different types of community members:

1. Alpha minimum 5 % of coin supply (max number: 20)
2. Beta minimum 2.5 %  of coin supply (max number 40)
3. Gamma minimum 1.25 % of coin supply
4. Delta minimum 0.675 % of coin supply
5. Apprentice, you need to work your way up

Everyone should focus on being alpha, beta is okay but why not to improve.

Alpha is the real deal. They are the  very elitistic group of Worshipful Masters.

I think that's a little ambitious of numbers to associate with. Also, Beta should be the lowest rank, because it's fucking Beta. Since Pepecash is deflationary, I also think the terms should be linked to a flat # of coins, so that overtime it becomes harder to break into these groups.

Alpha: 4,200,000 Pepecash
Apprentice: 100,000 Pepecash
Beta: <100,000 Pepecash

While I see your point of encouraging hodling I find the goal of 4.2 million coins quite modest. It costs only a few bitcoins. Also bear in mind, Alpha should be rare. Not everybody can be alpha although they wish so... Do you think there is a midway somewhere? I also changed my mind on the status of beta... Beta is indeed someone dispeakeable.  Grin

With the current market cap this is definetely a coin to accumulate.
No idea to sell this.
As AmericanPegasus said, some people sold Moneros for 0.50 usd which they have bought for 0.25-0.30 usd.
Selling for a profit of penny or two is not worth the risk of losing the big gain which obviously just ahead of us. Judging from the people coming to buy Pepe from Tux exchange, people who never before heared about crypto are coming and asking how to buy bitcoins with credit card so that they can buy Pepe cash....
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PEPECASH] 🐸 Pepecash / RarePepe 🦄 Spepeculation Topic on: March 26, 2017, 04:47:12 PM
At the first glance Pepe appears to be a joke but once you dig a bit deeper into it you will find out how revolutionary it is.
In my opinion, everybody who cares even a little about making money and being with the revolutions should have a stake in Pepe cash.
I am thinking to invest some more funds but the challenge is the slippage on the exchange. Slowly slowly accumulating is the right way to walk here in my opinion.
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PEPECASH] 🐸 Pepecash / RarePepe 🦄 Spepeculation Topic on: March 26, 2017, 10:13:14 AM
PEPECASH looking very strong still. Very healthy increase in price the last few days. Looks like we'll get into the 300 sat range here soon. The buy order support has still been growing the whole time. It's over 66btc right now. Good things are coming for this coin! It's currently #86 marketcap on CMC.

I remember well when the (buy side) orderbook of Monero was around 30 btc worth of bitcoins and the price of bitcoin was 200 usd.  Grin
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 25, 2017, 04:13:50 PM
Anyone can already use Monero for what it's meant for, anonymous transactions. It has high enough market cap for that. You could say that Monero has already achieved its purpose. Monero has succeeded.

Buy Monero, send anon tx, receiver sells Monero. It works. It does what it is supposed to do. What else could you wish for?

There are better coins for store of value.

I completely agree with you.
Monero is a success already in many ways and I hope it will reach 1 billion market cap at some point.
I might be even willing to buy some Moneros for higher price if my other investments will make me more money.  Grin
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 25, 2017, 04:12:00 PM

They have far better marketing which generates more users and wider adoption.... But we will see - not bought any Dash though.

pfff, you're being TrollCryptonaire again...

why don't you back these things up with facts.. show me where is all the dash user adoption? Show me where are all the dash-transactions?

You're only looking at the pumped up price and drawing your conclusions from there, sorry, but that is very narrowminded...

But speaking about price, why is everybody so damn impatient? Look at what xmr has given you already, if you bought in 2015 and 2016 you're very very much in the green fiatwise. I doubt there have been (for now) much better investments... Let it consolidate, let it develop at its steady pace, let it be the coin with 'no marketing', it's doing excellent...

Praise to all the devs and core-team who keep the steady pace, without hiring pretty faces to sell promises based on air, without price-talking and pumping the coin, without hiring some guy that will take market cap to 1 billion... They're doing a fantastic job and I can only admire the way they're keeping their feet on the ground while this project has (up until now) been incredibly succesful without throwing heaps of money at it...

best regards

You call me troll because I do not agree with you.  Wink
Dash is present on social media (Youtube). If someone who knows a little about crypto but not too deeply the best way to send anonymous transactions, (s)he probably says: using dash. That's because Dash is flooding their propaganda everywhere.
Still crypto's main purpose is a store of value, not transacting. Even many bitcoin merchants are removing bitcoins from their list of accepted payment methods (locally) because there are barely people using it so it is not worth it to accept bitcoins.

Dash is anonymous enough for average people, those of you who want more hard core privacy Monero is an excellent choice, but that is a niche and probably that's the reason why Monero will not need that much marketing. Those of you who need that sort of privacy will figure it out themselves. You see, many alts are far ahead bitcoin technologically but when it comes to network effect they fall short badly. And it is the network effect alone that creates the value for the coin (look at coinmarketcap).

I am not speaking down Monero and I think the current price is fine selling point (that's why I sold quite a lot around here).
I might buy some coins if the price gets severely undervalued (it might be slightly undervalued even now but I need better deal).
Maximum growth potential with XMR is to 0.04-0.05 btc so it is about 100 % ROI if you buy now and that potential will become reality.

In my investment philosophy, 100 % ROI is not that good. I prefer investing into places that can relatively easily increase in value by 20-100 times and Monero did met that.
Therefore, I owe a multitude of gratitude to the Monerians and developers, and of course - to Risto who got me into this. Thank you.

This coin could reach parity with Dogecoin in terms of market cap... It would mean approximately 10 000 - 20 000 % ROI but we will see what happens. Definetely more exchanges need to be implementing the coin if it will ever even challenge Doge-coin.

Awwww lawd.  Look what the cat done dragged in.  Our humble little pepes have caught the eye of a famous Monero whale y'all!

Go back to your fancy creeeeptonote city boy!  This here's pepe country, and we don't take kindly to you fancy mega project types coming in here with your building codes and shopping malls.  We like things nice and quiet around here.  No surprises, and a simple little marketcap.

I'm the sheriff round these parts.  Now you don't cause no trouble and won't be no trouble.  While you're here go check out one of them RarePepes or maybe some good ol handdrawn series 16.  Enjoy yourself, but behave!

Man, I had to flee from there. So many trolls out there.
I am a Mason and my intention is to build for the honor of the Great Architect of the Universe.
Making handsome buildings and then selling them on top-Pepe.

Dumped some more coins...  Cool

Sorry.

The price is now closer to the Moon than it was when I initially bought coins.
I am not saying it will not go to the moon but the coin represents 2 % of bitcoin right now which is quite good achievement. When you take into account how hard it is to develop and how slowly everything progresses.
The market situation has also changed dramatically recently when Dash passed XMR in market cap. I am having the opinion that only one anon coin can survive and now it looks like it is Dash.
They have far better marketing which generates more users and wider adoption.... But we will see - not bought any Dash though.

And those of you who bought my coins (not sold everything though) I hope you can resell them higher.

I hope I have the opportunity to sell even higher the rest of my coins.

What is the burning rate of coins per annum?
Very interesting concept - even more interesting than Dark coin to be honest.

Well, we might just be heading for our ATH.

Against Bitcoin of course, which is helping by spiraling down in the midst of its stupid civil war.

I would much rather we were a few points off our dollar ATH...

As for cashing out - sure, well done if you did....

But what into?  Bitcoin?

Ha!

Sold some more moneros...

Good move TC, you are a first class trader.  Cheesy

I am actually a horrible trader and the bagholding started to hurt me too much since I had way too many Moneros in my portfolio compared with other assets so I need to diversify.
I have no idea what to do with the money though...  Undecided No need for it so I just put the bitcoins to the lending markets earning hefty 0.1-0.2 % daily interest until Dark coin settles down and probably will buy it next....
Please, do not worry - I still have Moneros for sale at higher price so please go and get them while they still are available.  Shocked

Do you do your lending on Poloniex?

Yes I do.

This. Now seems like a terrible time to sell, with so much short term upside potential.

There is always upside potential and bitcoin seemed a few weeks ago it will shoot straight to 2000 usd or so.
If you have bought your stash on average under 0.003 so the current price seems nice place to sell so many. Funny thing is to notice how many bitcoins you can get even with even like 10-20 XMR which used to cost like 0.02-0.03 just months ago...
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 24, 2017, 11:35:40 AM
I am glad that I was able to sell a few coins for 0.02+ btc.
I think it is a good price to sell, I am not recommending others to sell but I just have been here for so long term now that I finallu decided cash around 5 % of my stash. Still 95 % of Moneros left and waiting to the shuttle to the Moon.
I hope the new owner appreciates those coins and hold them for long haul and see as nice ROI as I saw.

Not only you my friend, there are many people keep waiting for the big pump on Monero. Even myself sold some coin at price 0.02 BTC, really it is a good price to sell. I am waiting for big price change in coming days with Monero.

Yup, been waiting for some time already here as well.
We will see if Dark coin dumps so that I am able to grow my bitcoins there next.  Smiley
I am calling all ye Dark coin shorters to open positions!  Grin

I assume that nice thing will cost only a fraction of your coins you sold.

Good job locking in some profits although i see this as a bullish indicator.  😊

Thank you!
That is actually bullish assuming the new holders will not sell at loss and have "strong arms".
