Finally more great news for us! to tha moooooooon!  Wink

Taken with Webpage Screenshot

Holding this coin from the first time!

Needs more new people buying in to compensate for market players dumping on every bump :>
It's actually ok this way. It goes with the "slow and steady" mentality.  Going upwards this way is much better. It means greater distribution and thicker order books.  Both which makes crash less likely. If people buy at 200 they will be more reluctant to panic sell at 150 than if they are original 20 satoshi holders.

The great news about this is greater liquidity and volume while the price is steadily going up.

has there reaaaally been 10,451,037,389 KARM already mined with the few pools around as of now, are there 10,000 people mining it because I don't see how it adds up.
mining power has nothing to do with coins generated....
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KARM] Karmacoin - Mandatory Update Now! No Pre-mine! 6 Exchanges on: February 11, 2014, 11:37:48 PM
moving back up.... seems low is 5 satoshi right now.

Market cap is very low for what its current trading volume is and rewards just got cut by 25%.

ain't that price for long
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KARM] Karmacoin - Mandatory Update Now! No Pre-mine! 6 Exchanges on: February 11, 2014, 09:07:38 PM
Please remember to switch off karma when the difficulty is high so the hash rate drops.

I get about 3-4 times the coins when the hate rate is at 1 ghash and diff is 50+ then when the hash is 3 ghash+ and diff is 15.

Your assistance is appreciated
face palm. ..

I know some of us have some stuff planned for promotion once wallet is out. (Remember that marketing fund?).

It is somewhat important to time it well. So after wallet, some good things are coming beyond the wallet itself. And that's without talking about the fact most cryptonews will pick up on it due to the nature of the innovation.

In my opinion there's too much preasurre on the new wallet, but new wallet needs time (in this case, it should have all the time it needs) and crypto people are very impatient. It would be nice to do something instead of just waiting for new wallet to appear and lift us to the moon Smiley

"Don't put all eggs in one basket" they say.

I could do something, as I've mentioned before, like thread redesign (using mockups as a preview instead of real screenshots might be a dirty trick, but could work) and promotional public-oriented faucet. But... I think we need to get a small update for existing wallet first. Yesterday I gave some PRT as a birthday gift to my less tech-savvy friend and I had to pray that his wallet would sync up and I wouldn't have to explain him how to use particle.conf file. It synced! So yay for that. He was also very excited, while having no idea, what is this and what to do with it. I told him that I'm giving him The Future Smiley

Cute personal story aside, I propose a couple of small tweaks to current wallet:

1. create particle.conf with default addnode list if the file doesn't exist
2. change the dashboard image to something newer with a hint that new wallet is under development and add simple links to the website/thread/forum/twitter/facebook/whatever
3. maybe a first time popup with a couple of sentences about synchronization? how long will it last? can a wallet receive PRT while it syncing? can user close wallet while it syncs?

(1 and 3 should be in the new wallet too)

So what does this "win"?

1. less new users lost because of syncing issues
2. more new/existing (who updated) users attached to PRT because of curiosity + increased community activity, since "Oh, now new transactions, might as well check the PRT forum"
3. less new users scared by mysterious syncing

Does that make sense?
It's not about the new wallet itself really. It's about promoting something that is available instead of promoting something that is to come. There is already a lot of "good things to come" in the crypto world. We want to promote for something that's there.

It has little to do with the option to trade somewhere else but everything to do with the fact it brings exposure.  Many people are like "prt what?". Seeing PRT pop everywhere (like on top of that voting list) compels people to check it out. And we all know once you check it out that you realize it's one of the good coins.

It's weird... It's now like any other website in the world.

It screws me a bit, I'm used to hitting refresh then switching tabs and come check prices later. Now I hit refresh and I don't have time to switch tabs. I feel like I lose efficiency! Haha

Just gotta say that I'm happy to have found this coin. I was hoping an altcoin would exist that focused mainly on improving upon the legacy QT wallet interface. So boring looking at the exact same UI but with just a different logo slapped on the bottom left. Not gonna lie, the image in the first post looks pretty horrendous, but the latest mock-up looks quite a bit more pleasing. Keep it up!  Grin
The screenshot is pretty much a early alpha build. Before moonmoon got sick he was only a couple weeks away from beta. Note that he also intends on having a long beta, not one of those betas that should be called alpha.

Since the thread seems to be moving a bit, I suggest everyone to join https://altsino.com/ and gamble a bit with your PRT Smiley

It is enough of a gamble just mining them!
Ok, you done now? I believe you expressed your point of view in many ways already.

Welcome to crypto investing.

No I'm not done.   Gambling isn't a useful application that is going to drive the value of PRT.   I'm sure many others feel that way too.   I know there are many gambling sites for bitcoin too, it is a common application, just not one that is useful for most.  It is useful for the owner of the site to collect a lot more coins though!

Some at this forum have expressed a dislike for miners.   That shows they don't even understand how crypto currencies work.   Even the gambling won't work without miners.
I don't think Snotty implied it would be useful for the currency. I don't think anyone also implied it was a good way to make money.

Other than pointing out the obvious, I don't see much here.

Let's make a thread where the negative will be deleted and the positive kept. Rainbows everywhere.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - NEW EXCHANGE] | www.CoinMarket.io | OFFICIAL THREAD on: February 07, 2014, 07:57:31 PM
Well, the problem is somewhat the attitude.

As you say, bugs are expected and blah blah. Well since you are so eager to point that out, you shouldnt be so trigger happy to turning some blame on users.

Go a little less personal and a little more mechanical. Just a hopefully useful pointer. If you take it the wrong way, you completely missed my point.
This thread will be closed at some point because of users like you, who just need to stick and try to prove a point. We are all humans...
We will be opening a ticket-based email support system instead + a moderated thread that will work just like this one,
but all solved issues will be deleted - this will help process your requests even faster Smiley
users like me.... I actually just pointed out one of the few things I believed you should improve. I think you do many things great. But I am not gonna bend over and say you seem like a nice person because you do some good stuff. I gave you a potentially very useful business tip in a very neutral and non attacking manner. The mentality of "I don't care about you, just leave" to everyone who disagrees might not seem to have short term effects but will generally have an effect in the long run.

There is something called "cost of customer acquisition". A very important business aspect. Granted your costs are next to none, it also implies to what cost are you losing a customer. Losing even just 1 customer instead of toning down the blaming of users and generally impolite answers is a pretty idiotic move per that established business aspect.

I am glad you are hiring someone for PR.  One of the first things he might tell you is "oh shit, you shouldn't have answered to that". Just calm down, stick to your resolving issues issues and stop directing stuff to people.

You all need to realize that what you are using is a untested beta software.
You should not be angry at us for some bugs - they are expected.
We have over 7000 users and are running smooth for alteast 98% of them.
There are alternative exchanges if you dont like us or dont have patience.

All support requests get handled, this is what this thread is for.
But again, dont expect that there is a person managing your requests 24/7.

We are expanding our team and this thing will be amazing in no time..

We will handle the latest support requests from the last 4-8 hours soon. Thank you for your patience.

These new graphics (like the cover image) looks like what we were looking for. I think even bittick would agree
