321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: installed bitcoin 3.21 Do I need to set anything up? on: May 31, 2011, 04:15:54 PM
The problem here is that your client is not connected to the network and cannot download the blockchain(record or all transactions). You will be able to read about it in depth once our wiki is back up.

Try going to Settings->Options and check "Map port using UPnP". Restart the client and give it some time. If you see number of connections and blocks increasing, that means it's working. Once you have ~127815 blocks, you'll see your correct balance.

At the bottom right corner there are few numbers. Could you tell us the number of connections and blocks
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: installed bitcoin 3.21 Do I need to set anything up? on: May 31, 2011, 03:38:37 PM
Is your client connected to the network and blockchain up to date?

Depending on how long you want to use your card, 1GHz might be not that good of an idea.

I have 5x5870. They are all running 412MH/s at 950MHz core clock and 220MHz memory clock. None of them exceed 75C temp. You can push it further to 420MH/s but it just consumes more electricity with no real gain in processing power
327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Closing bitcoin? on: May 31, 2011, 01:40:54 PM
No it is not a feature. When you go File->Exit in GUI it will exit leaving no process running behind. It may take few seconds
What is a feature is when you click X in the right top corner of GUI, it minimizes it to system tray

You guys must have way more faith in humanity than I do. I think we are a bunch of animals and what you do with a violent animal? You put it down.

Freemoney, I disagree. People should take responsibility for their crimes and be punished.

sortedmush, I am not talking about initiating violence. I am talking about responding violence to violent actions. Tenfold! Actually, I think, any aggression should be met with such retribution, that even thinking about consequences would cause cold sweat. I don't think the world will lay down weapons in any other way.

And this system of fear and punishment is already in place, except the aggressor is our masters. People won't refuse to deal with them, because they fear. They fear of losing jobs, of breaking laws, etc.

I propose to put the power in the hands of people.

How are you going to put power in the hands of people who refuse it?

It's very easy. You kill all politicians, bankers, soldiers, policemen, folks from marketing and such. Now with all the money you have left you give a little bit to each person for each book read.

Come on people, are you really that gullible? At core anon has some very intelligent individuals. There is no reason why they'd want to bring our network down. And most importantly, there's no lulz in this operation  Grin

As long as cops are shooting soldiers, I'm a happy guy. They are the same breed of animals that have to be put down.

I'd argue this kind of behavior is way more dangerous than just shooting someone and forgetting about it. All people who saw this, now have a mental picture what will happen if they disobey cops.
It's the same whenever there is a protest. Turn on your TV and you'll see an interview with some random guy telling millions how he came to a peaceful protest, but found it to be very dangerous place. This is how people are discouraged from expressing their opinion and put into submission to increasingly oppressive regime.

Soon you'll have to dress, walk, talk and think like your government tells you. Which reminds me of a certain gentleman:

339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 6970 power problem? on: May 30, 2011, 07:15:02 PM
73 degrees is normal.
What I meant was have you tried other software, like phoenix or diablo miner. There is a possibility that video card is faulty, but I think other causes are more likely. I wouldn't send it to manufacturer, because if you are wrong, you'll waste a lot of time and just lose money for postage. If I were you, I'd find another computer to try that video card on. I, for exampl,. have a motherboard which refuses to operate if gpu gets above 80 degrees.
What OS are you running? If it's windows, try LinuxCoin distribution. It's very easy to start mining
340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 6970 power problem? on: May 30, 2011, 06:06:30 PM
Have you tried other miners?
What are the GPU temps when your miners are running?
