321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: For those bounty hunters who can hardly relate (Part 2) on: April 18, 2019, 01:16:48 PM
This is why I always say that we should boycott those bounty campaigns which refuse to pay in ETH or BTC. Anyway bounty pool represent just 1% or less of the total budget. And there is no harm in paying that small amount in Ether.
322  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela hit by new nationwide powercut for more than three days on: April 18, 2019, 01:13:52 PM
Because of the ridiculous subsidy, gasoline is essentially free. A decade ago it was estimated 2/3rds of gasoline production was smuggled out of the country. That was when we still actually produced our own gasoline... Instead of importing now that we let our State owned refineries rot.

If the subsidy on gasoline is cancelled (at least temporarily), then there will be a huge improvement in the health of the Venezuelan economy. But for some unknown reasons, the government don't want to do that.
323  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela hit by new nationwide powercut for more than three days on: April 17, 2019, 01:33:52 PM
^^^^

I don't understand this. Is it that easy to get coke on a small plane and fly all the way to Southern United States? If I am not wrong, around 3,000 km of sea lies between Venezuela and the US. How can the planes go all the way without being detected?
324  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold & Silver are safe than bank deposits ?? on: April 17, 2019, 01:21:32 PM
Investing in gold and silver has a risk as any other investments. There were years when gold and silver had price up and down. There are also bubbles here like in 2011 silver, also there are lot of scams like adding volphram to gold because it's density is very similar.

Obviously if you are purchasing your gold coins and bars from little known sellers, then there is always a risk of getting low quality product. That's why I always go for the most reputed sellers, such as APMEX, KitCo and Goldline.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is this the beginning of the end of all bitcoin hard forks? on: April 17, 2019, 01:18:17 PM
Just because a few exchanges delist some of the alts, that doesn't mean that the alt is going to die out. The loss for one exchange is a gain for another. And regarding the forks, we need to remember that Bitcoin is a decentralized crypto. There is no centralized authority with Bitcoin. So it is only natural that in future also there will be number of hard forks coming to existence.
326  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Debit Card on: April 17, 2019, 01:13:19 PM
Monaco looks like a very attractive option right now, as the fee is quite low.And as far as I know, they allow deposits in BTC and ETH, in addition to Monaco. And the KYC requirements are also not that invasive. (This card is not available for residents of the United States).
327  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Debit Card on: April 16, 2019, 04:48:18 PM
There are a number of different pre-paid Bitcoin debit cards available. You can check a few of them here:

https://coindiligent.com/bitcoin-debit-cards

They may not be available in all the countries and territories, and you need to check the availability before you order a card.
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Cofounder: ETH to Rise 1000x and Become Global Settlement on: April 16, 2019, 04:39:46 PM
Being a co-founder, I expect him to be optimistic about the future prospects of Ethereum. But to be realistic, I don't agree with him when he says that ETH can reach a market cap of $17.5 trillion. The technology behind ETH is a bit outdated, I'd say.
329  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Signature Campaigns taxes on: April 15, 2019, 04:44:34 PM
A few options are presented:

1. Don't say anything, it's virtually impossible for any tax agency to find out what you have. However eventually they might be able to and you could face serious problems.

2. Mark it as freelance work and a tax rate will be applied to it, up to 50% (reported by an user) It seems that they wont ask for much information or proof as long as you are declaring it intentionally.

3. Simply spend bitcoins or any other cryptocurrency that you earned without ever converting it to fiat because cryptocurrencies are usually not taxable in most European countries.

I went through all the three options. Here is my opinion about it:

1. If you don't want to convert your coins immediately to fiat, then you can go for this.
2. If you don't mind paying the 50% tax, then go ahead with this option. The safest route out of the three.
3. Crypto is more or less anonymous. But the moment you convert it to any other asset (fiat, goods, bullion.etc), that anonymity is lost. Keep that in mind.
330  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: KYC challenges on: April 15, 2019, 04:40:36 PM
Please share any recommendations as to how to make kyc( know your customers ) effective!! and probably; is it even needed?

Depends on the laws and regulations in your territory. In many of the countries, KYC is mandatory if you are dealing with currency or financial assets. The level of KYC required can vary. In some nations, just a phone number may be enough. In some others, passport details and address proof may be required.
331  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: China’s Plan to Ban Bitcoin on: April 15, 2019, 04:38:29 PM
China has become a super-power, and many Chinese are extremely wealthy. Banning mining activities in China won't meant that the Chinese will have a reduced mining activity. The mining owners will just move their operations to other countries, and they have already done this to a certain extent.

I am not sure about the logistics. Is it that easy to move thousands of mining rigs from one country to another, and then assemble them again, and then to re-start the mining farm? Anyway... to which country are they planning to move their farms?
332  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bull market is back? on: April 15, 2019, 04:35:08 PM
We still have about 12 months to go for the next block reward halving. My guess is that some of the traders have started accumulating the coins, as they hope that the prices will go up after the event.
333  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bulls need time on: April 15, 2019, 04:33:13 PM
Bulls need time but others wants or expect a bulls every year. We all want it but they should accept the fact that it won't going to happen. They are just thinking of profit but they aren't think of, do they afford to buy at a high price, I guess not, so bears aren't that bad. Price pull back a few hundred of bucks but still maintaining at $5k so still fine.
That’s how the new investors want, they want to take profit always but it’s not the reality because the price will always fluctuate. Bulls will come when the bear is over and when there’s enough volume for the demand. The cheaper price is not that bad, its a buying time so you can earn if the bull started to work.

If the bull run happens too soon, then there is always a chance that it may not be able to sustain itself. First the basics needs to be strong, and till now I am not seeing any hints of that happening. But those who are hopeful about the future can always buy and accumulate the coins.
334  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: yobit about to take off ? on: April 15, 2019, 04:30:06 PM
Actually I am surprised to hear that there are still people who continue to use Yobit. Their official thread was locked a few months back and many of the DT members have branded that exchange as a scam. Even I have used their services before and I don't have anything encouraging to say about them.

336  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is cryptopia dead? on: April 14, 2019, 06:06:42 AM
We could say Cryptopia is on a process of being 'resurrected' because the exchange was recently hacked, and suffer a significant amount of losses. The NZ police already made an investigation, and the cryptopia team is working on to reopen the exchange to the regular state. You can see the latest update about the exchange on the official Twitter account https://twitter.com/Cryptopia_NZ

Involving the police, that is the best step to take I most say. Though it may take long but I hope those involved in this should be brought to law.
Though I'm confuse, I have been hearing different stories that no money was made away at the cost of the event. Don't know how true is this, I guess we just wait till the website is fully updated to know whats next.

For now, it looks like the hackers are unable to cash out. Some of the alts and tokens have issued hard forks to make these stolen coins worthless and the other exchanges are refusing to trade with the stolen tokens.

O.k.  You are not to be taken seriously.  There is no need to speak in ALL CAPS.

Agreed. Even I have lost some money on Wex, but now I have given up pursuing them anymore. I should have moved my coins a soon as the Wex.nz website came online. Made the mistake by keeping the coins in an exchange.
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's your favorite to win this year's Champions League ? on: April 14, 2019, 05:55:12 AM
Weird to see that MU received three more votes after losing 1-0 to Barca. Are you guys really objective here ?

Hmm... One of those votes came from me. Supporting ManU for more than two decades now... can't shift the loyalties just because they lost one match. And I am not going to support Juventus as long as Cristiano Ronaldo plays for them.
339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's your favorite to win this year's Champions League ? on: April 12, 2019, 01:38:35 PM
I need to choose between Manchester United and Juventus (my vote went for the former). Unfortunately, ManU is facing tough competition from FC Barcelona. Need to wait till 17th April, to know whether they will qualify for the semifinals or not.
340  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you need cash for everyday use? on: April 12, 2019, 04:27:43 AM
It is possible to survive without cash nowadays, as even in the third world nations credit cards and mobile wallets are getting very popular. However, the lack of anonymity is one of the issues when you go for these modes of payment.
