221  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Venezuela on: May 07, 2019, 04:56:40 AM
The instability that is happening in Venezuela was eminent.
If a democratic presidential will be chosen from the Venezuelan people then the same situation will continue. The dictator should be stopped, but sadly the only way to do so is war...

War is not the solution. A free and fair election should do the trick.

I am not sure about the current approval level of Maduro, but there is a large segment of the population which remains loyal to him. In case the Americans go ahead with a military invasion, then his support base will grow and many millions will revolt against the invaders.

Till now, Juan Guaidó is unable to create a sizeable militia to fight against Maduro. He wants the Americans to do the dirty work for him. That's not going to work. If he has the popular support, then he can easily overthrow Maduro from power (just like what happened in countries such as Libya). If he is not capable of that, then I suspect that his support levels are quite low.

222  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: how to report bitcoin earnings on: May 07, 2019, 04:51:17 AM
I think that the best option would be to classify it as a gift, and pay regular income tax on that amount. I am saying this because Bitcoin is not recognized as a currency in most of the world nations, and therefore you can't say that you received an "income". A gift can be in the form of either an asset or a currency. Just my 2 cents... if you are still confused, then please consult a CA.
223  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Unregulated market is illegal or legal? on: May 07, 2019, 04:48:30 AM
If bitcoin is illegal on your country , you can still use crypto only online because country or a government rather dont hold the online world ,  they dont hold bitcoin  but its possible that they can ban some sites within their network or within the countries local ip  .  there are also sites that are illegal online and you can get into some serious trouble if you will insist to use and visit them  .
If bitcoin were illegal in the country then you must obey the law with your government because if you have been caught of course you must punishable by them. So, you don't have anything to do if illegal in your country unless you migrate into another place were bitcoin was allowed to use.

If a country bans Bitcoin, it can be interpreted in many different ways. A few examples are:

1. Bitcoin can't be used as a legal tender: In countries such as India, Bitcoin can't be used as a form of payment. But that doesn't mean that the possession of Bitcoin and trading of Bitcoin to fiat is illegal.

2. Bitcoin trading is illegal: In countries such as Bangladesh, you are banned from trading your BTC to fiat. But the possession of BTC as such is not a punishable offense.

3. Possession of Bitcoin is illegal: I don't think any country is having such a rule as of now. It can't be implemented anyway.

What I wanted to say is that the laws should be clear.
224  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are You Afraid of KYC? on: May 07, 2019, 04:40:28 AM
I will soon do a KYC in Adabsolutions, I believe in the project and have promoted the project for 4 months I don't want all my efforts to go to waste and besides, Adabsolutions is one project that I believe has a good potential even though some people think it's a scam, it's everyone for himself when it comes to investing.

You are talking about the Adab exchange, right? I would be more cautious, as the user who had posted the ANN and bounty threads is having red-trust. Also, I checked their bounty thread and there is no requirement for KYC there. If SOME people think that it is a scam, then study the allegations carefully before sending your scanned copy of the passport to them.

EDIT: I think that the Adab project is indeed a scam.

Their first bounty campaign ran for almost one year and became dead last month. Obviously, no one received any reward. The thread is here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4722627.0

The second bounty campaign is currently running:

225  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BTC worth $1M confiscated in Canada ruling on: May 04, 2019, 06:04:30 PM
Forget about deflationary aspects of bitcoin through block reward halving..

Confiscation (if it isn't onsold by authorities) and people dying without a way to share their private keys will probably have the greatest deflationary impact on bitcoin and crypto more broadly.

Almost always, the confiscated coins are auctioned off by the authorities. So you can't count it among the possible reasons for getting a deflationary impact. Regarding the second part, I guess most of the big holders will be having some mechanism to pass on the private keys, in case something happens to them. Exceptions would be rare.
226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Indian Govt thinks Bitcoin is a ponzi scheme on: May 04, 2019, 05:57:40 PM
Tax evasion is a big issue in India, and only around 3% of the population pay income tax. So effectively this 3% of the population is subsidizing the remaining 97%. The tax rates are so high that anyone who is capable of evading taxes go for it at the first opportunity available. And reports indicate that Bitcoin is one of the tools being used by the tax evaders in India. So not very surprising that the government is adopting such a hostile stance towards Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Court issued an order for Craig Wright to produce his public bitcoin address on: May 04, 2019, 05:52:59 PM
Craig S Wright is a compulsive liar and attention seeker and the best thing for us would be to ignore him. But at the same time, this court order can't be implemented. If Craig Wright claims that he doesn't own a particular address, then there is no way that he can be linked to that address. A Bitcoin address is not like a bank account. It is not linked by any ID document or residential information.
228  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Multiple Bomb blasts in Srilanka - churches and hotel ( Read OP for Updates) on: May 03, 2019, 04:01:23 PM
The government of Sri Lanka has repeatedly warned of the possibility of terrorist attacks, and I believe that all the victims are on the conscience of the government.
It is a pity that such a beautiful country is beginning to turn into another hot spot in the world in which civilians are dying ...

Sri Lanka is a nation of 25 million people and you can't expect the government to offer police protection to every religious institution. Yes.. the government was warned. But in a very vague way. There was no mention about the targets or the time of the attack. Moreover, no one expected these attacks to be in such a massive scale. Sri Lanka has no previous history of Islamic extremists blowing up at crowded places.
229  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best Cryptocurrency to Invest? on: May 03, 2019, 03:51:41 PM
Check on the coinmarketcap, for sure there are top 10 coins there and you can choose where to invest your money, but for me, bitcoin still the best coin we can have in crytocurrency world. When it comes it altcoin, there is also a lot of potential coin we can invest there, just check the top 10 coins in coinmarketcap because for sure that's the best coin to invest especially ETH.

The top-10 includes coins such as Ripple (XRP) and EOS, which looks overpriced. Also, USDT ranks among the top-10 and it is not suitable for investment purposes. At the same time, some of the most promising coins fall outside this top-10 list. A few that comes to my mind right now are Monero (XMR), Cosmos, NEO, NEM, ZCash, Qtum and 0x.

If you want to make investments, then make them fast. I am having a gut feeling that a major bull run is about to start. So make up your mind and purchase the coins of your choice without any further delay.
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you now going to hold when the market is red? on: May 01, 2019, 06:44:24 PM
Although I don't like to sell my coins when the market is down, sometimes I am forced to do it. As of now, almost 70% of my total wealth is in the form of crypto. So in order to minimize the risk, I took a decision back in 2017, to diversify my assets. I am converting 1% of my coins to fiat every month and I am doing this for the past one and half years irrespective of the exchange rates.
231  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Cryptobanks Future? on: May 01, 2019, 06:41:34 PM
Bitcoin was invented in order to eradicate the middlemen and intermediaries like the banks. The very idea of crypto-banks go against this principle. First we need to ask ourselves whether we need banks to store crypto or not. IMO, there is no need for a bank to store the coins or to transact them. Anyway.. the banks also may not be interested in a decentralized currency, which they can't manipulate.
232  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best Cryptocurrency to Invest? on: May 01, 2019, 06:37:31 PM
There are a number of promising crypto-coins out there and you can invest in any of them. I can name a few such as Litecoin, EOS, NEO, XRP, XLM, ETH, BCH, XMR, ADA, TRON, Dash, IOTA, Cosmos, NEM, Zcash.etc. These coins have something unique about them, and if things work out then you can get good returns within the next 2-3 years.

But at the same time, we need to remember that Bitcoin is the original crypto-currency which was invented by Satoshi. The price of all the other cryptos are dependent on BTC. So I would advise you to keep at least 50% of your crypto wealth in the form of BTC.
233  Economy / Economics / Re: Who is really hopeful about the future of Bitcoin and why? on: May 01, 2019, 06:31:28 PM
I have been collecting crypto-currency for the past 7 years and my confidence with cryptos have been increasing with every passing year. I am witnessing a lot of positive changes in the crypto market. The users are more serious about their investments and they no longer do panic selling or chase worthless altcoins. The market continues to evolve and the users have also become more innovative and knowledgeable.
234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling - Eating your Brain and Money on: May 01, 2019, 06:27:23 PM
Set something like 10% of your income and label that as "entertainment". Use that for everything related to entertainment like movies and gambling. When it runs out, you stop spending until it gets topped up again the next month.

This is actually a very good suggestion. But still I believe that 10% of the total income is a bit high. If alcohol, sports.etc is included, then it can be reasonable. But it will be quite hard to keep this 10% target. Chasing the losses is a habit which is very difficult to get away. I have seen even the most experienced gamblers doing it.
235  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HODL IS THE BEST OPTION FOR ME NOW on: April 30, 2019, 04:42:06 PM
HODL is the best option now for all my altcoins. I will keep Hodling till the bearish market is over. Everyone was thinking that bull run will start toward the end of the year, instead, there is a consistent reduction in price. Let keep hodling next year will get better for everyone.
I want to know what you feel, is there still hope for the remaining 18 days before the year end?
I think it is not best only for you it is definitely useful and important for everyone to be hodl their investment because the market condition is getting better and better so if we hold our investment it will be only helpful for us to get better and better.

OK. The market condition may be getting better. But that doesn't mean that all of your altcoins are going to go up. Most of them will go up, but the coins with weak basics will see a reduction in the trading volumes and eventually they will just become dormant. The trick is to get rid of such coins, before they become completely worthless.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons Crypto Players Skip Casinos with KYC on: April 30, 2019, 04:38:09 PM
Being a recreational gambler, I am not in favor of undergoing the KYC process. Gambling is not illegal in my country, but I am not very comfortable with providing complete strangers (and that too guys associated with the gambling industry) with my ID documents. No matter how much bonus they are ready to provide, I'll just skip them.

If casinos gave a voting option whether we as gamblers would like to verify ourselves via KYC then I would vote no for it, the only circumstances I would submit my documents for KYC is if I have won a huge amount then it’s worth the hassle. The whole point of playing with bitcoins is to remain anonymous, and if we submit our documents then we reveal our identity to the casino and to the law makers. You’re right many gamblers will turn down the bonus, and give the casino a miss if they’re subject to KYC regulations.

In case you manages to hit the jackpot, then anyway you need to go for the KYC process. While filing your tax returns, you need to give details of your winnings. I wouldn't be having a problem with that. But then, if you ask me to submit my KYC documents for withdrawing $10 from the online casino, then I will just refuse it plain and simple.
237  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Keep religious beliefs personal to promote peaceful coexistence on: April 30, 2019, 04:21:34 PM
....
Well that's certainly true, christians have ''evolved'' in a way, they basically ignore all the immoral passages of the bible and at least try to be somewhat good, muslims are still too outdated, they are basically living in 1500 still.

It's fair to say that Christianity has evolved.

I would say that all the major religions have evolved (perhaps with the exception of Islam). But you can still find sections of these religions which have resisted evolution. To give examples, there are the Amish and the FLDS among the Christians, Haredis among the Jews and groups like Jehova's witnesses that avoid modern medicine.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2018-2019 on: April 30, 2019, 04:12:39 PM
Less than two hours to go for the Ajax vs Tottenham match. I just checked an online poll in ESPN website and to my surprise 61% are favoring Ajax to win this match. I checked some polls in Twitter as well and all of them are having Ajax on top. On the other hand, the match between Barca and Liverpool is predicted to be a nailbiter, with 51% favoring LFC and 49% favoring Barca.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo vs Jacobs on: April 30, 2019, 04:02:51 PM
Canelo has fought the best boxer in this era Mayweather and Ganady, he is on top of his games right now and Jacobs is just going to be an added badges to his glorious career, but I'm thinking that he is not facing a patsy and we all love an underdog to win a fight, but still my vote is Canelo by a decision, but not ruling out a knock out.
The previous match of Canelo is great so I think he will own the stage this time again and put Jacobs down. They have both the  strength but the experience of every boxer will play a big role on this fight. Will look for a betting place to put my bet with Canelo, I want to win this time so I will still choose to be on the safe side.

You are talking about the fight against Rocky Fielding? Yes... his performance was good during that match. But then Rocky Fielding is not a legend, unlike boxers such as Gennady Golovkin and Amir Khan. But for Canelo, it gives him a lot of confidence. His team might say that Canelo won his last fight by KO, while Jacobs won his last (vs Derevianchenko) by SD.
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers running free on: April 29, 2019, 05:35:15 PM
Some kinda crypto police you meant?you don't have to worry this will be fixed sooner or later ,apart from SEC I'm sure scammers will have no safe haven anymore ,in time we will have solution

ROFL... do you really think that the SEC will be worried about bounty hunters not getting their rewards? That's not the case. Unless some Wall street whale losses at least a few million USD in one of those scam ICOs, the SEC is not going to do anything. And regarding the sig campaigns, they can always say that no monetary losses resulted from the scam.
