321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: March 31, 2024, 06:44:25 AM
I think gambling addiction is a normal thing for every beginner because most beginners normally have so much excitement  that result in mistakes and painful losses. A good number of gamblers follow this process and eventually learnt on the process. There is really no much advice that can be given to a novice that will safe them from getting so addicted to gambling at the beginning so I feel it is how gambling works. Anyone coming into gambling, my simple advice will just to gambler with bearable amount of money incase there is loss.

Nevertheless, they still need to hear it because some can be cautious towards it but only need the advise of people who have been there. Being selfish or greedy is part of human nature but it is not everyone that is on the extreme. Those who are not extremely greedy will easily understand the advise of not over gambling in order not to lose much when their game fail. So keeping quiet to the advise will do more harm to those who would have used the advise if they heard it and that is why I also like your conclusion that using bearable amount to gamble can safe alot when the game fails. Like for instance, the game yesterday between Napoli and Atlanta, some gamblers felt Napoli would get a draw being at home despite not being in top shape but it didn't happen, they lost woefully to Atlanta by 0:3. This is the reason to gamble as you can bear because I know gamblers who lost money on that game  Grin
322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The person who can’t control emotions in gambling will never earn money from it on: March 30, 2024, 09:22:24 PM
Well, I'd never say they won't have the chance to earn money but if we think about earning huge it seems impossible and I say why. This is because losing control of our emotions affects the entire thing - decision-making and behavior.

Despite your view about losing control of emotions and leading to continuous losing and eventually getting to lose all, it is still not impossible to have a big win. I know of some gamblers who have also had a come back with their last chance regards to how much bankroll they have left. They have had to stake their last money they came to gamble with and at the end they got a win that built back their confidence especially in offline gambling.

Some gamblers don't lose hope until they have gambled the last they have like in visual betting this happens often where the next game can become a luck that opens the door for more winning after losing hope
323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: House always wins? The case of Trump Plaza. on: March 30, 2024, 06:20:46 PM
This is not even directly related to casinos, cause the plaza was offering a lot more services which were the main focus at the time, the casino was not fully operational at any point in time.

I also think that because of the other outlets of businesses under it could be a reason it failed.

Another is that at the time casino business may not have been a very big business as it is now with the growth in the game including the use of cryptocurrency and Blockchain that gave the players may freedom and privacy . So I'm sure if it were this time around, whoever is managing it won't allow the casino part to go down. Of course the house always wins and that means with the rate of patronage more capital will be generated to run the casino.

However, there are more to this story like I wonder why Trump would file a case to remove his name from business or is he being impersonated or he had a time limit to use his name on the contract that has expired  Grin
324  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can family members help a gambling addict? on: March 30, 2024, 12:39:54 PM

What is the most effective way of going about gambling addiction.

But a true friend is like a family and he should know ways to assist his friend like a family would do. I think family may take more subtle ways to trying to bring their brother out of addiction and by that measures that they are suppose to take they may not or procrastinate over it.

However, a friend should know the kind of family that his friend has and so if at all he wants to involve someone from the family, he would know the appropriate person to work that with who may be discreet about it yet do take proper remedy for his brother. It depends actually if the friends have tried what they could without succeeding then it can be revealed to a family member who can handle it rather than exposing the situation to members who can only be sympathetic and not have solution.
325  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Naija they take full advantage of Bitcoin on: March 30, 2024, 10:51:15 AM
Nigeria has been on the top line in terms of having Bitcoin and crypto investment as source of income especially through trading. We don already dey think beyond the traditional system far back as the job for naija na base on who you know and that thing don dey worse now that if you no know person wey be top legislator or governor, president, job no be for you. In fact, the job self na how much dem go pay you? But if you stay online and utilize the opportunity in it, you go know say some people salary na one day hussle for you.

Naija no dey carry last for anything wey dem dey use make money and no be today wey e don dey happen so Bitcoin or cryptocurrency trading or hodling, guys wey dey cash out plenty. If you enter street yourself go know say really much more young people dey into digital currency trading.
326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is playing poker online better than offline? on: March 30, 2024, 08:35:39 AM
I think it is easier to read the mind of players when you play offline. Some players are nervous when they are up against you and if you are well into your game you can easily take that as advantage to psychologically outsmart the other player. Emotion is always an advantage if you can use that well but online is more robotic and you have to play without emotion because there is no room for that on the internet. So I feel the more physical aspect of poker than online.
327  Economy / Gambling / Re: My experience on live bet on: March 30, 2024, 06:21:26 AM
Congratulations first timer who got scared and ran away with 641 naira  Grin.

Probably you had total of 7 odds to give you that potential winning amount of 7433.37 naira with your staking of 1,000 Naira. Experienced player would have allowed the game go on and maximize his profit afterall the risk isn't high.

And some other gambler would have gone for more risk by adding to their bankroll.

So it is just different for different player but a bet that is cashed out might have gone ahead to win all or might have also been a total lost, it is two ways. It is about the decision we want to take

329  Economy / Economics / Re: Church Business on: March 29, 2024, 03:10:13 PM

Infact the rate at which GOD is calling people into the ministry is what gave me concerned as I have been waiting for the same call but is not forth coming,

If you are interested in the church things, you can call yourself like some pastors have also done  Grin then you go into the church business and start doing what they are doing but remember there are repercussions to what we do including deceiving the people .

Guys let discuss what do you think about this, are these pastor's really being called or they are just looking for a way out of economic hardship

Church is in the class of non profit organization but what we see these days especially in Africa has really left someone to a big surprise. Church is now run as a profit organization but its dividend is not shared among the people but just a few or only the pastor who decides who to bring in or not. The pastor who is seen as the owner of the church takes all and that is why you see them living luxury life style and riding on jets. Even the schools owned by churches that are suppose to cater for the education of the downtrodden in the church isn't doing that. Schools that are owned by churches are quite expensive and when all these profits are gathered from all the church businesses like a profit making organizations, it is not shared among members but just the pastor, of course that is why some glutton runs into owning a church.

330  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Wealth is not backward compatible. Those who can hold Bitcoin are inherently wea on: March 29, 2024, 02:21:00 PM
Most of the people who can hold Bitcoin are people who have some assets in their hands. For poor people, it is really not easy to access this circle. .

I don't believe this to be true. It is easier now to be rich than in the past. Many poor people will claim to riches at the end of this halving bull. It will take effort of perseverance to invest in a profitable project not necessarily bitcoin.

After all, wealth is really not easy to flow into the hands of ordinary people.

No one should give up hope that wealth is not easy to flow into ordinary people's hand. Your plans sees you through and like they say "he who doesn't plan has already plan to fail". So you don't only hodl bitcoin, if you can't afford it you can try hodling some altcoins, surely they will also increase during the bull run proper.
331  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Balancing digitalization and on-site jobs on: March 29, 2024, 01:26:16 PM

Our agricultural sector use to be one of the most viable sector that boasted our economy in the past but since the advent of crude oil and the evolution into this digital age, most youth have lost interest in the agricultural sector especially those from the southern part of the country.

Wetin government don really do to make people go into farming. See no be only southern part but the country agricultural imput to GDP don drop and that na because of insecurity. People for Northern part don comot mind for agriculture because of the fear of being killed or kidnapped, so na general thing and na government never dey serious to help agriculture.

Agriculture na still big business, e some part of it wey no even get stress self like if you dey plant plantain, that one you no need even to do grass removing plantain go just dey grow by it self with your little effort on top am you don get enough cash be that only if you get land. For Cameroon till date, plantain na big source of income for their government and individuals.

So na as government take focus on oil make dem no dey focus on other areas of generating income and that one too make young people follow de way.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been kicked out of a casino? on: March 29, 2024, 11:47:21 AM
Hi community,

Have you been in this situation before?
It's a pleasure to hear your story.

None of those have I been through both online and off line. In offline gambling shop, if you are a responsible gambler you don't face any of such embarrassing moment because you follow the rules and make sure that you pay for the games you are betting on even if you have lost all you have, you must know how to communicate with the agent to explain and then they will collect your phone or other belongings until you come back to redeem them. So it is about gambling responsibly and not to over bet and then everyone is fine .

However, I have witnessed a player being embarrassed by security men after the gambler didn't want to drop his belongings to take care of his debt after he lost all his money on visual soccer. He didn't manage the situation well because of the anger and pain of losing too much, so that led to the embarrassment for him and he was forced to relinquish his phone for his debt.

does betonline.com send an sms when you sign up?

Usually all things being equal and good, when signing up to a website casino you should get a notification sms through your number or email depending on your means of first level identification.

Do they keep your money if they find out you use vpn?

Don't waste your time gambling in any site that has restricted your country from playing with them. Worse of is if you use VPN to bypass their restrictions and win big, you can't do verification,  it will be painful to you because you can't get your money since you have violated their rules.
334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does prediction in sport work for you? on: March 28, 2024, 08:29:37 PM

If you are interested in gambling on sports, do you rely on prediction betting sites? Why?

Sports is a game that you can watch and understand easily especially football and so there is really no need to be relying on tips from websites because they themselves have guess to do and just like an individual has few games that you think can be successful so also they too do, but because they are paid group and appearing like professionals people get to patronize them.

I think those gamblers who are multiple bettors are mostly concern about the betting sites as they will need some support on some games but if you bet very few games you can do your analysis by yourself.

What is the most prominent site you rely on?

I initially used few but after realizing that they are equally not perfect then I had to go back to my ability to analyze myself. It is good to do personal analysis and by that you learn more about the teams instead of picking calls that is just thrown up at random and few succeed of which if you are unlucky to go with the wrong games you have lost out. So to do your analysis is better than to follow call groups because they are also not perfect in their call.
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does affilate programs work in casinos? on: March 28, 2024, 03:48:33 PM
I think it is as you know it already from other sectors as you mentioned. Affiliate is what it is, you have the opportunity to market the company using either code or link and when that link is clicked it takes you to the website for sign up. So you get benefit from the company depending on how many people that use the link to successfully register under you. It is a normal process that you know.
336  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Regulation of price by the government on: March 28, 2024, 02:11:22 PM

If you go to 4 different stores you will find out that it different prices.
If our government should look into this price of a thing.

Na true wey you talk and government really need to do something about am now as dem don dey try push the exchange rate down by fire by force  Grin but make we see whether dem go fit sustain am. Although the truth be say the exchange rate wey reduce no go make all the price of products just come down like that as if the country don better because e never better. And also, traders go say dem still dey sell old stock but trust naija people, everyone want to take opportunity when dem see am so the prices of products no go just jump down like that.

But if to say na fuel wey drop now, the price go dey reduce by now. If government dey sincere about to better the life of people make dem touch infrastructure and do electricity at least steady for a reasonable time then businesses go flourish. However, make them rejuvenate the price control monitor team or patrol. If business people hear even for radio say government want enter street begin catch people wey dey say at high price, dem go immediately begin change to moderate price but for now wey government never show concern, people go dey sell as dem want with the excuse of old stock.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How my gambling life started. on: March 28, 2024, 01:21:03 PM

But gambling with friends and family may not be a good approach I will rather gamble on an online casino rather than visiting a physical casinos with family or friend.

I think it is more of a juvenile thing to visit physical gambling shop with family members. You can see the young people who do that most times with family members but those who are quite old gamble on their own separately especially where the family isn't a gambling home. Where the parents are not gamblers the siblings would not freely go out to gamble together because their parents would ask there whereabout and in fact, in such homes you will find very few of the siblings who gamble because they won't be use to it if the father is not a gambler.

But certainly, more gamblers gamble with friends and they seek analysis from themselves.
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How about your experience in taking part in the same bet with friends? on: March 28, 2024, 11:19:00 AM

Have any of you had any such feelings?

Having such consolation is inconsequential. When you bet and lose, it is your money that is lost and not that of your friends despite betting same game but you are losing your money. I understand the feeling of having to lose with someone but you are not sharing the loses so you also have a secret or public remorse of losing like you gambled alone.

Is there less human pressure if gambling is conducted in the same place with friends?

True to the fact that everyone knows that they had effort towards winning and if it doesn't happen that way then no one is blamed. However, not many gamblers like to join effort to gamble same game exactly. Sometimes, a friend can change his own portion of the game in between either by adding or removing a game and at the end either it causes the losing for that gambler or makes him more profit to the envy of the other gambler who didn't add or included any other game.
339  Economy / Speculation / Re: My instincts on the value of bitcoin from now to halving on: March 27, 2024, 06:57:19 PM

Do you have some psychological intake or some personal opinion in related to my emotion?

Well I will not be surprised if it doesn't rise again to that level until halving. My own emotion is that the price have actually risen far above my expectations and market expectation for the history of bitcoin. However, it seems this halving is really going to change the fortune of the crypto market and making investors have lots of benefits with the way it broke previous ATH before halving because this is the first time I have noticed this happening. The reason for this is hodlers are really expecting much this season and they are hodling tight.
340  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Politicians and false humility on: March 27, 2024, 06:07:34 PM
False humility is one of the political strategies deployed during the times of elections to make people like and vote for them it is all fake
So after election they turn back to their normal self and bring out their real person

This is a circle that keeps repeating while the people know about it. What is now the solution as voters understand the phenomenon yet keep falling for it.

The next season they throw out their agents out on the field to start promising on their behalf and the people are given peanuts in exchange of their votes and after that the economy goods down by 10/20% in their tenure and they bid their friends again who is corrupt then the economy keeps nose diving. What is the solution to this for the masses who only need good governance with benefits of democracy.
