Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we're fully recovered from yesterday's little buying opportunity... currently $5700USD/$7102CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

AltCash also holding its own at $330USD/$412CAD (Coinmarketcap).

We're again pretty much where we were after consolidating following the massive rise a week ago. We're also less than a week from the AltGold fork.

Time will tell. I'm just glad I got to add a few more satoshis during yesterday's dip.

Go Bitcoin go.

Where do you live?

Why Iceland?

A former constitutional republic situated between Canada and Mexico.

They actually jailed banksters after '08, remote enough to resist waves of eco/war refugees, geothermal power for mining and comfort, high levels of education and social cohesion, hawt hawt women, need I go on?

I used to play a game on internet forums. I'd ask what your top 3 countries would be if you couldn't live in your own country.

I always included Iceland and New Zealand in my top 3. After that it's a tossup. A Scandinavian or Benelux country maybe.

I hope I didn't blow it by only spending half the fiat I'd earmarked for Bitcoin. I thought it might go lower so I held half back.

Same here. I'm expecting sub 5k, with a possible weekend retracement.

It's starting to look like we both might have blown it. It's already rebounded by over $250 from the bottom.

Still, this could go either way. My cash and QR codes are ready just in case it goes back down.
_____

edit: make that over $300

Good morning Bitcoinland.

We finally got enough of a dip to get me up off my ass and buy some more coin... currently $5220USD/$6525CAD (Bitcoinaverage). That's back up by more than a c-note since I bought this AM. Seems I caught pretty much the bottom again but I hope I didn't blow it by only spending half the fiat I'd earmarked for Bitcoin. I thought it might go lower so I held half back.

Meanwhile AltCash has taken an even worse beating... currently $318USD/$399CAD (Coinmarketcap).

Feels good to buy for the first time since September 15. Maybe I'll get to buy some more later today. Gotta keep an eye on the ticker.

the game that everyone else in the world plays

Oh, you mean soccer, the game that soccer moms take their little girls to play?

no no lol football (soccer) is the fiat of games. just for poor people or as you say, women.
was talking about manly games for manly men. grown ups

Oh, a proper full contact sport like rugby?
3206  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 17, 2017, 07:36:53 PM
it's quite possible we'll end up having to put up with bitcoin crash existing on the sidelines. it's a minor annoyance, like American Football.
just some crazies over there playing rugby with the wrong rules. yes it's just about viable, a sweet little economy for the colonials.
but it's always a bit annoying that we never get to find out if the yanks could actually play the game properly. and it's all very loud.
the game that everyone else in the world plays. never mind. even if they want to make up silly rules like throwing the ball forwards, we know what we're doing and carry on.

motherfucker!

33 ninjas with uzis?!?

I need more cameras and barb wire

I'm happy with lots of "paper" wallets. That's security.

I do have a Trezor though, but I keep less than 5 coins in it. It may not be quite as absolutely secure as cold storage but it's close and it is a lot more convenient.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Down a wee but still going roughly sideways... currently $5587USD $7022CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Meanwhile AltCash has taken a surprising turn upward... currently $367USD/$460CAD (Coinmarketcap).

For those who still hold both, it means almost no change.

Consolidation is good and all, but after last week's excitement this is rather boring.

Ho hum.
3209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 16, 2017, 04:26:34 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Not much change other than Sunday's beartrap finishing closing... currently $5684USD/$7123CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

AltCash also flat... currently $314USD/$393CAD (Coinmarketcap).

We're pretty much where we were after the dust settled after spectacular Thursday. I'll consider this to be a half week of consolidation so far.

Maybe soon we can see some new ATHs.

You should be sympathetic to your fallen Bulls. Especially those that got a little too exuberant and went long at 100x on Bitmex at the wrong time. You should weep for your fallen Bulls.

Sorry, but I find it hard to be sympathetic to people who gamble with leverage. They fall into the category of suckers, be they bulls or bears.

correction in progress  Smiley

Yes. Correcting quite nicely.

It's starting to make last night's little dip look like a beartrap.
3213  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 15, 2017, 03:03:00 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we had a bit of a dip overnight... currently $5557USD/$6930CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

AltCash also down... currently $313USD/$390CAD (Coinmarketcap).

No big deal, not nearly deep enough for me to buy.

Dimon is a fool & hasn’t got a clue about the path that bitcoin is taking. Anybody who reacts to comments by him is an idiot.

We used to say, "If you're so smart, why ain't you rich?"

In Dimon's case I have to ask, "If you're so rich, why ain't you smart?"
3214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 20 days for Bitcoin on: October 15, 2017, 12:28:30 AM
Another day, another jackpot.

Finally a day averaging over $7kCAD.

I like milestones.  Cool

I see we've rolled back to page 18000.
3216  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 14, 2017, 06:32:33 PM
Always love the Jimbo updates. I'm going to come and have a beer with you one day Jim. I'll be rich, you'll be richer.

Thanx.

Actually as long as we both have our friends, family and health, we're already both rich.

A nice bag full of bitcoins helps though. Money may not buy everything but what it doesn't buy comes easier if you have lots of money.  Cheesy

A late and very hung-over good morning Bitcoinland.

After a day of consolidation, it seems we're on the rise again... currently $5741USD/$7158CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

AltCash going sideways at $320USD/$399CAD (Coinmarketcap).

Onward and upward. Go Bitcoin go.
3218  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 20 days for Bitcoin on: October 13, 2017, 07:27:45 PM
Nice jackpot. Hopefully another today.

$7kCAD?
3219  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 13, 2017, 03:50:51 PM
Another very pleasant good morning Bitcoinland.

After last night's nice little high volume correction/profit-taking, it's good to see we're heading back up... currently $5750USD/$7175CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

AltCash is down a bit at $318USD/$387CAD (Coinmarketcap).

While a $1k rise in a day is exhilarating, it can be a little nerve-wracking as well. I'd rather see daily increases of $100 or so. They're much healthier in the long run.

Hopefully we'll see another ATH soon.
_____

Congrats to all the holders who became millionaires for the first time yesterday, and to anyone else who passed a significant milestone yesterday.

Once again we have proof that buying the dips and holding is the best policy.
3220  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 13, 2017, 05:45:04 AM
paging Mr. Toronto, Mr. Toronto to the wall observer thread please

Just got home from the local. It's still before last call but I had to eat and the (excellent) band finished early.

Seems the rally's not done yet. In less than 24 hours we went up over $1000USD/$1250CAD per coin on Bitstamp before dipping a wee.

Not a bad day... up a grand, down $200.

We all know we're in for a serious correction but $5k is still looking good as a potential bottom.

As I'm typing this I see we dropped another $100. Maybe that was it for now. Then again that's what some of us thought earlier and it turned out to be just a minor bump in the road upward.

Let's wait and see. In the meantime, many of us earned an obscene amount of money in the last 24 hours. Holding is good. So are corrections.

Go Bitcoin go.
