If you want to make money at horseracing, own the track.

If you want to make money at blackjack/roulette/poker/slots/etc, own the casino.

If you want to make money daytrading, own the brokerage/exchange.

Otherwise you're just a rube.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Nice to see we're making some headway in the battle for $8k... currently $8220USD/$10950CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Go Bitcoin go.
2343  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 12, 2019, 01:57:21 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still bumbling along at $8k... currently $8025USD/$10664CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

This could be a long summer (unless you're south of the equator).

No sweat for those who patiently hold.

I already bought at 3k.

Wow. That's a lot.

Gravy and cheese and French fries?

Poutine? Isn't that something they eat in Quebec?

At least it's not bangers, mash and mushy peas. Or Mr. Brain's faggots (in a north country sauce).  Cheesy

Fuck Canada and their geese.  Crapping on people’s yachts. The birds are annoying too.

Well aren't you a ray of sunshine today.  Grin

Still going sideways in pursuit of $8k... currently $7818USD/$10265CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

This looks good except the currency symbol  🤪 Imagine it's in USD currency.

I thought I clearly indicated both the USD and CAD prices, listing the USD price first because this is the "Wall Observer BTC/USD" thread and including the CAD for the benefit of the many Canadian members of this forum, including the original thread starter as well as the creator of our lovely hats.

I suppose I could also include pesos, euros, dinars, pounds, rands, etc, but I'm lazy and it sounds like too much work.

Bah, work. Curse of the drinking class.

Cool

Paint drying or grass growing? Yawn.

Cmon Bitcoin, wake up.

It's so quiet around here I figured I'd better post a Chartbuddy for auld lang syne.

There was a time when WO doldrums were measured in consecutive Chartbuddies.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Geeze it's 8:30AM. What's happening to me? I used to be an "up at the crack of noon" kind of guy. Now I'm keeping farmers' hours. It's the GF's fault. She drags me off to bed earlier and wakes me up earlier every day.

I see we've fired another volley in the Great Siege of $4k... currently $8005USD/$10625CAD. The battle rages on.

Go Bitcoin go.

Since we are on old humor mood:
FIAT stands for Fix It Again Tony.

Fix Or Repair Daily?

English food and wine are not quite the best

lol

Reminds me of that old scattergun ethnic joke:
_____

The difference between heaven and hell

In heaven
The cops are English,
The chefs are French,
The mechanics are German,
The lovers are Italian,
And the administrators are Swiss.

In hell
The cops are German,
The chefs are English,
The mechanics are French,

And the administrators are Italian.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

The battle for $8k rages on... currently $7933USD/$10540CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Ho freaking hum.
2352  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 07, 2019, 06:11:30 PM
All you have to do is HODL & don’t panic sell. Bitcoin (so far in its lifetime) is the best investment you can make. Almost guaranteed profits if you have patience.

Amen.

Simply don't ever sell unless you absolutely must. Don't sell because the price goes up or down. Sell only because you need specific goods or services.

Trading is a sucker's game.
2353  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 07, 2019, 05:52:14 PM
Good afternoon Bitcoinland.

The battle for $8k continues... currently $8097USD/$10744CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

At least we're on the good side of $8k for now. Bought twice this week while the price was below $8k. Every little bit helps.

Go Bitcoin go.

Canada supposedly bans anyone from the US with a DUI from entering, but millions of brown people from 3rd world countries who they have no idea the history of is okay.

I don't know if the "supposed" ban on drunken drivers is true but the USA definitely bans anyone with a cannabis conviction arrest.

Personally, I'd rather have a dozen harmless potheads than even one dangerous drunken driver.

As for "brown people from 3rd world countries", does my girlfriend count?

She's got ten times more brains than you, you clueless moron.

My apologies to all for quoting the troll but I couldn't let this one slide.

It's amusing to me, how Bitcoin was instrumental in allowing me to retire early. Now that I'm not mining any more, and living well within our means, I'm slowly becoming a degenerate dip-buyer out of sheer boredom.

 Feeling very blessed.

If it drops below $7,500, I'll buy another chunk.

Living happily ever after is fun, isn't it?
2356  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 04, 2019, 12:31:57 PM
An extremely early good morning Bitcoinland. It seems Mexican hours have followed me back to Canada. 8:00AM? Isn't that farmers' hours? Definitely past my usual bedtime. Must be my Mexican GF's fault.

I see the battle for $9k $8k continues... currently $7945USD/$10667CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Seems the previous trend of the price tanking when I went south and rising when I returned north has reversed. This time it soared when I went down at the end of April and dropped by a grand when I came back up in June. Go figure.

Luckily I have a little extra fiat left over after paying my bills so I'll actually be able to buy a little bit of this dip. Just a couple of grand CAD but it's better than nothing. Every little bit helps. I was worried that I'd maybe have to sell a little coin when I got back but a dental delay has instead left me with a little extra cash.

Life is good. Go Bitcoin go.

Happy birthday Goose. Stay strong and HODL.

Jimbo, this hat has no white-space around it.  It's a minor upgrade.

I'd be much obliged for the upgrade Homer. You're a gentleman and a scholar.

Buenos dias Bitcoinland. In a hotel room in Playa del Carmen with my shiny new bottom teeth waiting to head off to Cancun airport with my lovely Mexican GF to spend the next 5 months in Canada. It's getting unbearably hot here and the weather in Toronto is gorgeous at this time of year.

Meanwhile, the price of Bitcoin is right back to where it was before that bizarre hiccup a few days ago... currently $8713USD/$11800CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

We're ready to resume the battle for $9k for as long as it takes. Hopefully I won't have to sell any Bitcoin until sometime in 2020 and with any luck I can buy some more in the meantime. By this time next year the price should be considerably higher. Another year after that and most of us should be fairly wealthy. Maybe by then we'll have resolved the $100k party location(s). As long as I don't have to go to the USA, I'm happy.

Life is good. Thank you Bitcoin.

Go Bitcoin go.
2359  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 31, 2019, 03:53:12 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

What a zany day yesterday was... up $400, down $1100, and back up $400... currently $8391USD/$11330CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

A great opportunity for trader/gamblers but no big deal for investor/holders, except perhaps as a buying opportunity for those lucky enough to buy at $8k.

Overall a $300 dip is negligible. The fact that $8k held strong is much more important. Unfortunately the fact that $9k fought back in undeniable.

As I said yesterday, this could take a while. Still, May was a very good month.

Go Bitcoin go.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we shot our first volley in the Battle for $9k and it was met with firm resistance... currently $8700USD/$11750CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

This could be a long drawn-out affair. Patience holders. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Within 2 years we'll all (or most of us!) be comfortably rich.

Go Bitcoin go.
