3221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / [LTC] Litecoin chart looks very promising right now! on: June 29, 2017, 06:06:11 AM
a couple of days ago i wanted to post this screenshot and talk about the stability of litecoin price and how it is staying above certain resistance level,...

but the dips began as i wanted to post it so i waited to see what will happen and interesting enough...

while other altcoins had a huge drop, litecoin had a smaller dip and mostly held the USD value up and now it is back to exactly where it was before and again it is holding it up pretty nicely.

i want to say this is a big accumulation phase which will lead to another big LTC Bull market very soon.

what do you think?
do we have any news coming that can start this rally?
3222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Monthly Best Gambling Site (June 2017) on: June 29, 2017, 05:55:59 AM
I voted for bitsler and why there's only a very few participant for this months poll?

possibly because the topics in this board started becoming repetitive and poor that people stopped visiting this board completely. that's what i do anyways, just came here today to see what is happening and saw this topic Smiley
3223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is ICO ? on: June 29, 2017, 05:50:10 AM
Help me to understand what is ICO ..?

you can simply use google to search "what is ICO" and find this nice link: www.investopedia.com/terms/i/initial-coin-offering-ico.asp

and a lot more on this forum: https://www.google.com/search?q=what+is+ico+site:bitcointalk.org
3224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex Bot. on: June 29, 2017, 05:44:07 AM
i don't think a fast order execution as soon as price changes is possible on bittrex because they do not offer any socket connections and you will have to get the orderbook manually by sending a simple REST request each time you want to update it and there is always a limit on how many times per second you can do that before your IP is banned!

so there will be a delay unless you contact then and ask them to remove your limits.

what others keep saying about GUNbot is most probably only true about poloniex since it offers sockets which if that bot is using means an open and constant update of the market (orderbooks) as they change so it is live changes with no hassle and you can execute the orders as fast as your internet connection allows you.

the same will be true about any other exchange that doesn't offer sockets which is nearly all of them!
3225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum VS Bitcoin - The FUD on: June 29, 2017, 05:35:39 AM
Ethereum's collapse is going to hurt Bitcoin more than MtGox. ...

nah, i don't think so.
collapse of Mt Gox didn't hurt bitcoin at all the pump before the collapse hurt bitcoin, and that is a big difference.
the pump pushed the price into a huge bubble which needed to burst and that took a long time and also it was followed by the collapse and people losing their money and all that drama which caused some problems.
otherwise without the pump and if they weren't that big, the "hurt" would have been the same as bitfinex getting hacked.

and the same will be true about ether. FUD can only have an effect to some extent. there has always been a lot of FUD against bitcoin from day 1. people calling it ponzi, scam, bubble, and lots of different things and you can see they all have a temporary effect and then fade away.
3226  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What percentage of traders profit? on: June 28, 2017, 06:22:40 AM
it is possible to make profit with trading and even make a living doing it, and the fact is many people are already doing it! there are day traders with multiple monitors in front of them running bots and watching the market, analyzing, trading, moving thousands of dollar in and out and making money every day.

you can make any kind of profit that you want, $10 or $1000 or $50000. it is all possible and depend on how much you want to spend time on it. for many trading is like a secondary job or a hobby to make some small amount of profit but for some (as i said the day traders) it is their main job and they go in big and make a lot more but they risk losing a lot more too.

the problem is this is a high risk and as a result stressful job. and that makes it not-suitable for many. for example i have tried trading bitcoin but the stress and the time consumption was not for me so i invested long term. for altcoins i go in short term and make my profit, it is less stressful and i can say it is even easier but it is still time consuming so i can't do it always.
3227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS] Poland’s Largest Food Delivery Starts Accepting Bitcoin on: June 28, 2017, 06:13:45 AM
From OP's link:
Quote
In 2014, Pyszne.pl was acquired by Takeaway.com, one of the largest online food ordering websites in the world.

It's a Dutch owned company, their Dutch website http://thuisbezorgd.nl has been accepting Bitcoin for years. They process Bitcoin payments instantly (0 confirmations) to forward your order to the restaurant. I haven't tested it with a very low fee, that may be a risk for them if it never confirms.
If that happens, you might get a bill at your delivery address.

so far all the businesses that i have seen accepting payments instantly (with 0 confirmations) already have methods of some sort of risk assessment. and that means you can't just send any kind of transaction and think they accept it.
for example an extremely low fee, a transaction with an unconfirmed parent, or anything else that may lead to the transaction being stuck will be rejected. so the risks are nearly zero.
3228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: it is ethereum failing not bitcoin and not other altcoins on: June 28, 2017, 06:06:59 AM
the worst part of the altcoin community is that nobody cares about anything anymore apart from the money and how much they can earn it from the altcoin pumps!
so saying ethereum has failed, doesn't seem to concern anyone anymore. believe it or not there are altcoins that are 100% dead meaning they don't even have a blockchain anymore, nobody mines it for months and they are still being traded on some exchanges!
and the same is true about ethereum on another level. even if the ethereum blockchain fails and comes to a complete halt instead of being slow like now, people will still blindly say it is a good coin because they saw a big rise once and thing it can happen again if they say it is good and believe it hard enough...
3229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Litecoin will have a stronger position? on: June 28, 2017, 05:59:27 AM
i don't rely on possible news in the future i prefer sticking to what is true today. and that is the fact that litecoin developers are hard at work to improve litecoin by adding new features to it. very soon we will see lightning network on litecoin, then we will see confidential transactions (aka anonymous transactions) on litecoin too and then there will be more additions that the developers are currently working on not some countdown to an unknown thing!
also there is Rootstock which is smart contracts for bitcoin which i think will be adjusted for litecoin too since it has SegWit already activated. and that eventually means replacement of ethereum.

to answer your main question: yes i believe litecoin will have a much stronger position among all the other altcoins with all these things that i said.
how successful it will be depends on many things though. but i have high hopes for this one and that is why i have already invested a considerable amount in LTC and will hold it.
3230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone else think "long term" hodlers are idiots? on: June 28, 2017, 05:52:08 AM
This question have many sarcastic answers, like it should have. Someone can try to trade, someone can try to gamble, some people are earning and saving and there is nothing bad in that, what more this strategy can be very good for the long run, people who save (just to point out that I'm not a saver) are thinking about future, but for 5 - 10 or more years into the future, not like me from today for tomorrow.
Long term holders, or hodlers are not idiots, its their choice and we need to respect it. Everyone have a right to decide what will do with earned bitcoins: spent it, save it, or try to make more from what you have, what ever choice you make its good and there is no discussion about it.

when people make statements like OP they are bound to receive these types of answers too.
and there is always going to be advantages and disadvantages to any method you choose. the comment above you had a good point for example. for trading, you first need a reliable place to trade at and i don't think there is anyone that doesn't know bitcoin exchanges are not reliable at all!

it is not just the risk of them turning into a new Mt Gox but it is all the delays, the downtimes and the bugs they have. bitstamp went down yesterday at the peak of trades, i think a couple of others did too although it was very short. poloniex always goes down when altcoins are dumping....

you see the reliability is not there so you can't really blame people for not wanting to go through all the agony of trading Cheesy
3231  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▂▃▅▆█ BITSLER █▆▅▃▂🎁 11 BILLION BETS🎁Most Popular Dice & Roulette🎁BURST'S WEEK🎁 on: June 27, 2017, 06:03:54 AM
While all other coins are down Burst going up I'm sure it is because of Bitsler integration of Burst  Wink

I don't think it is just because bitsler using this coin prices are up. Last few days it was corrected a lot and today most of the coins already in green. But surely if more and more casinos start using burst coin then it's prices will start moving up due to high demand. If you're a long-term investor then just hold on to it, you will make a good profit.

yeah that may be the reason but you are forgetting the power of news and in this case a good news, on price. whenever there is much smaller news about an altcoin their prices react big, and with a news like being listed on a big gambling site like bitsler i am sure the reaction should be big.
3232  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Bitcoin for Altcoins Anonymously? on: June 27, 2017, 05:52:33 AM
Hey guys so just to confirm.  When you send btc from electrum or your bitcoin wallet to shapeshift, then they send you ltc, eth or waves or any other coin, its anonymous?  thus they cannot find out you actually traded btc for litecoin for example?
Also what if u use the same btc address all the time?  Would that still be an issue?  Or you have to make sure you dont use same address etc.

they being Shapeshift owners can keep records of every transaction so your litecoin or whatever address will be linked to your bitcoin address and if that bitcoin address is somehow linked to you then it is not anonymous anymore.

although you should remember that anonymity has different levels. you should first decide from whom you are trying to hide!
is it the average Joe on the internet because you want to keep your privacy or is it the government because you did something illegal? or many other reasons. for each of which there is a different way!
3233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins under 1M Supply with Massive Potential on: June 27, 2017, 05:44:23 AM
Does anyone do research on these types of coins which are under 1M supply, making their market cap extremely low and undervalued? Worldcoinindex and Coinmarketcap does not show all of them. Anyone have any ideas? So far I got $OMNI with great potential, what about $ZCL?

i have never heard of Worldcoinindex  but Coinmarketcap lists all of them you just have to go to the next pages! the list is way too long that they decided to make it into a couple of pages.

and these coins with small marketcap should only be considered as long as
- the small market cap is not because of extremely low price such as 1 satoshi or lower 0.001 satoshi!
- have some volume
- listed on some exchanges that are worth signing up on.
but usually these coins have no trading volume and a big spread.

my favorite small coin is FTC or feather coin, i don't know how much is its market cap but it is a very good investment from time to time and it is listed on bittrex and multiple other places. and also has a good volume.
3234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Feel sorry for the panic traders/investors for selling at low. its now all green on: June 27, 2017, 05:37:50 AM
i feel sorry for those who have no sense of timing the market.
  • the time to buy was when prices were still low and not at all in a bubble. and when everyone was saying nothing will happen ever
  • the time to sell was when prices were still in a bubble on top and everyone was saying buy, buy buy because prices will go another 100%-1000% up and idiots were bag-holding
  • the time to stay away is when prices are falling and everyone is either panic selling or running around calling a dead cat bounce "green"
3235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin market crash on: June 27, 2017, 05:14:43 AM
I'm just curious. What if bitcoin and any other alts market fall and you invested all your money into this.
First mistake of investment! You never go all in no matter how promising a project is, diversify in different projects

Would you rather do Panic Selling? and How would you compensate all your losses?

the thing we need to understand with bitcoin is prices are in constant motion and sometimes a dip does not mean we shall not recover

So in a situation of a crash, i would hold and avoid panic selling

i wouldn't call this a crash because it is not even big when you look at the percentage of the drop. and also there is no reason to sell now. i always find it weird that some people (mostly the panic sellers) decide to sell after the drop happens!
they need to learn that they should either sell before the drop or early on in the drop or don't think about selling if they come in late.
3236  Economy / Speculation / Re: True or false: Ethereum is a bubble, bitcoin is not on: June 26, 2017, 08:37:19 AM
False!

Ethereum is proving itself to be what it meant to be: a smart contract infrastructure. Recent increase in ETH price was because of the ICOs gathering almost a $billion or so in the past month. For this fundings,  people had to 'buy' ETH, it is not a bubble, it is actual demand. Now this ICOs are trying to exchange their 'income' to finance the projects or just to spend a little more, it is where the trouble begins, there is no more demands. Looks like a ponzi scheme, but it is not. It is a whole new phenomenon that I have not studied its every details and the market is just experiencing it.

not at all.
ethereum failed at smart contracts multiple times. DAO exploited it easily, another one caused a Canadian exchange lose 14 million dollar, recently the smart contracts caused the network to fail and get clogged up to the extent that caused all the transactions to be delayed.

as you said but partly backwards, there is no real demand, the demand was from those ICOs that forced people to buy ETH tokens and cause the bubble.

and many of the ICOs have not yet even started selling their tokens to cause the real dip. this drop is mostly because of the fails of last weak combined with bitcoin price falling, because any time bitcoin goes down all the altcoin go with it.
3237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin dead in car accident? on: June 26, 2017, 07:28:22 AM
doesn't mater if fake or true, this is actually a wake up call!

when all of one coin which has become big for no reason, relies on one person things certainly don't look good. not everything is death, there are a lot of other things that can go wrong. like Vitalik simply turning into the dark side.

someone pointed out something interesting a while ago. the fact that CIA met with Gavin Andereson (the bitcoin developer who got the keys from Satoshi directly) and no one really knows what went on. but bitcoin still has more developers and has been under observation of the whole network and changing it has always needed the whole network's consensus.

now lets assume the same thing happened with Vitalik. if CIA demands him to add some code, some loophole or some backdoor in the ethereum code he has no way of denying it and he can do it easily because nobody else has a say in a centralized altcoin like ethereum. we saw this in the hard fork.
3238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why altcoin price down during this week? What are the reason? on: June 26, 2017, 07:01:43 AM
the answer is the same as when altcoin prices were rising. it is what happens during a pumping season.
the altcoins get pumped all around the market and everyone joins in then after all of them entered a big bubble the smart money exits and the rest of the market starts dwindling until it reaches the bottom and real low value of each altcoin shows itself.
3239  Economy / Speculation / Re: True or false: Ethereum is a bubble, bitcoin is not on: June 26, 2017, 06:41:56 AM
BTC heading for a healthy correction down to 1500$, I sold at 2700$ a couple of days ago and already placed buy orders above 1500$. ETH on the other hand is done for this year. not all alts will take a beating though. legitimate innovation such as Byteball still has a lot of growth potential

why $1500?
i have also sold around $2700 and some at $2900 but i don't get why some people say prices below $2000. so far the $2K showed a very good resistance under normal circumstances and these big round numbers are known to form a nice physiological resistances whether it is breaking $2000 to go down or breaking $3000 to go up.
3240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to feel dumb and smart at the same time. on: June 26, 2017, 06:32:44 AM
there is no reason for feeling dumb, it is not the end of the line yet. things are just getting started with bitcoin. you can still consider yourself an early adopter and have a lot of profit in the future rises. i was thinking the same as you back in 2014-2015 when i started with bitcoin that i have missed the $1000 train and it will never go back there again. no i LOL at those times when price is above twice that number.

and besides not everything is the price. you can still use bitcoin as a currency and try to benefit from a decentralized cryptocurrency that nobody can control.
