3221  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: [Interessencheck] Bitpay 1Oz Bitcoin Silbermünze on: May 25, 2021, 02:15:20 PM

3222  Other / Off-topic / Re: Price of a bear on: May 25, 2021, 07:10:15 AM
So you are saying it is bear market, what is the price of a bear? My father breeds bulls for meat so he can tell me the price of a bull. Thanks. Smiley

P. S. This is a joke, I hope you can take it and it is good for the nerves Smiley

So what's the price of a bull?  Cheesy

Bears are really hard to come by, the only country I know of where people own bears as pets is Russia. Maybe our Russian friends can give us a quote.

For me I will just stick with my dog as a pet.
3223  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is our last hope for financial independence - John McAfee on: May 25, 2021, 07:06:30 AM
I wasn't aware that John McAfee thinks so positive about crypto currencies, good for him. Even though Elon Musk and China try to kill bitcoins, I still think positive myself about it. It just feels like a minor setback, it could take a few months but eventually we are going to recover. Governments tried in the past to ban bitcoins without any luck. There is just no way around it, and after Elon Musk I am believing in any rich people anymore.
3224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE VERY TRAGIC MOMENT IN FUTURES TRADE HAPPEN AGAIN. on: May 25, 2021, 07:00:56 AM
I got asked by my nephew on Sunday how he could buy some bitcoins. He is 14 and wants to trade with bitcoins. I had no idea that he even knows what it is. After a little bit of talking I realised that he had no really idea what bitcoins are or how to trade them, but he heard from others that you make money with bitcoins. Had to promise him that next time I buy some o would buy some for him too as his birthday present. I think at 14 you are just too young.
3225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet365 just achieved a big milestone. on: May 25, 2021, 06:55:59 AM
Congratulations to him and his family, well done. I don't feel bad about it because he is just another rich person. He worked hard for it and deserves it. In my mind betting and gambling is just another service in the economy. So while the owners of McDonald's or HomeDepot get rich, so should the online casino owners and bookmakers. He provides a platform where we all can follow our passion and try to make some money.
3226  Other / Off-topic / Re: Tesla stock continues bleeding, down 40% since January on: May 25, 2021, 06:40:56 AM
It looks like investors are starting to realise that njt everything is true and turns into gold what Elon Musk touches. I am starting to believe that he knew what was going to happen to tesla and tried to use the bitcoin market to make some profits before. He used his last credibility to manipulate the bitcoin price. Who knows what kind of profit he made. But now the party is over and investors realise it.
3227  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Stop Worshipping Elon Musk on: May 25, 2021, 06:35:23 AM
Worship of god It usually depends on one's own mind according to the followers of different religions god worships god. It is impossible to stop people from surviving through religion we suffer from many hesitations about telling our work dreams plans etc in front of everyone Yes, many times security is a secret  mask expressed his plans very nicely performs his work very perfectly as planned. That's how Mask did a great job elon musk's initiative has always been bigger than ever even unbelievable.

God are usually doing wonders and influence a lot of people. To me it seems that Elon Musk is trying to do the same. It is not about his electric cars, the company might be very expensive and a lot of people got rich by buying the stock, but it is more about spaceX. Thinking about how the first man go to Mars. Everybody knows Neil Armstrong, and Elon Musk will decide who is going to be the next one.
3228  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Businesses banning the vaccine. on: May 25, 2021, 06:26:48 AM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNhbm2yHdTI

We know that vaccinated people have weakened immune systems, and therefore they are more likely to be infectious, or sick anyway. These hairdressers are banning vaccinated customers, as they claim that they are not covered for disease spreading under their public health liability insurance.

Oh wow, that's crazy. In my country we need to be vaccinated to go to some businesses, and now we can't go to others? I wish they would decide on one plan and everybody has to follow it. Wearing a mask still seems mandatory, even for vaccinated people.
3229  Economy / Economics / Re: We exited the bear market earler than expected on: May 25, 2021, 06:24:10 AM
We exited the bear market earlier than everyone expected.

The prices might only start to surge from here. Many people said that the Korea FUD, the Elon FUD, and the China FUD will kill Bitcoin. But what it actually did was speed up a 3 year bear market into a 3 week bear market. Cool

It is hard to say what is going to happen this year. The bear market happened very suddenly and was unexpected to many of us, the same could happen to recovery. But usually after a bear market we saw some time of constant prices in the bitcoin market with only low volatility. I would be very surprised if it just rises back to the ATH now.
3230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: May 23, 2021, 06:45:09 AM
Bitcoin, stable coin or fiat money no matter what, they are still money which is having value right now so one who wants to gamble and have money in whatever form they can use it for the purpose. And also there are gambling sites which convert your deposits into USD value after depositing means it is just a value interm of dollar no matter which coins we are used.

If you play carefully and do not bet on the entire deposit or most of it, then fluctuations of 20% are sensitive for you, right? It is probably unpleasant to know that your deposit has decreased by 20% due to fluctuations in the bitcoin rate, despite the fact that you have not even made a single bet. Many gamblers are not satisfied with this option and they are looking for stable coins.

Fluctuations are painful, but only if they bitcoin price is rising, not falling. I haven't used my bitcoins in a while now for gambling, because I was afraid of another rally. The recent bear market caught me completely off guard, so selling is no option anymore. It feels like best to just wait and sit it out and hope for the next bull run. In the meantime to earn with our bitcoins there are only two real options, lending and gambling. I definitely prefer gambling. At the current low bitcoin levels it is getting more attractive to gamble with it instead of fiat money.
3231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ohio offering lottery prize worth one million for those that get the COVID shot on: May 23, 2021, 06:30:18 AM
Really good incentive that is quite cost effective too. Kudos to them for being so creative.

The EV of these lotteries are probably no more than a few cents each given the amount of entrants that are participating. Yet, the sheer amount in the prize pool simply makes this seem like a much better deal than it actually is.

Not to mention the collateral publicity that this event will generate for the lotto. Truly lucrative industry with the edge that they have over the players.

I think the EV is much higher, they are giving away 5 million with a population below 12 million. If we then take out all the old people who already got vaccinated, the young kids who are not yet eligible for the vaccine and the people who don't want to take the vaccine, I would assume that there around 5-6 million people eligible for the lottery. EV of 1 dollar is fine since it is for free, it might even be higher if less people decide to get vaccine. Would be nice if more cities would have such great ideas.
3232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dubai's Government and Gambling on: May 23, 2021, 06:25:27 AM
Maybe Morocco friendly stance towards gambling is due to the french influence in the 50's, when the country was under the european country's control and had the first casino opened in their territory. Another muslim countries didn't absorb the foreigner influences in the same way, and prefered to fully stick with their local culture and traditions.
Anyway it's interesting how a country with 90% of its population belonging to muslim religion operates casinos. Probably they focus on tourists to make the industry profitable there. I believe in the future UAE will go through the same way, because these countries need income to survive and oil isn't going to be profitable forever.

Morocco is a majority Arab and Muslim nations. Arabs are majority of the population and Islam is the religion for more than 99.9% of the citizens. The fact that Morocco allows gambling is remarkable, because as an Arab country it is regarded as one of the birth places of Islam. Now the question is whether the gambling industry has resulted in any negative influence or not. As far as I can see, no major change in crime rate or organized mafia has been reported. On the other hand, the population has benefitted from increased job creation and tourist revenue.

I haven't heard from anybody that went to Morocco for gambling. Friends of mine just went to Morocco for sightseeing and to experience cities like casablanca. But what I did hear from everybody who went there with his girlfriend or wife is that there was atleast one situation where they felt unsafe. I am not sure if I would feel safe gambling larder sums down there. Maybe it just takes a few years to change their imagine. If a country can pull of creating a new casino landscape than go for it. Combing a normal vacation with gambling is awesome.
3233  Economy / Economics / Re: A bubble is when price is not justified on: May 22, 2021, 06:31:37 PM
A bubble is not about how high is the price of something (tulip bulbs, diamonds, dot-com stocks...), it is when the price is not justified. It is a bit for everyone to decide if the price of an asset is justified really, there is not a magic formula that will tell you if it is. In stocks or investments you can make a "discounted cash-flow" apply a rate of return and make some hypothesis about economy, growth and "moat" and at least you will get a number from it. On other assets, the price will be fixed by supply and demand (and that is the case for bitcoin) since they do not produce a regular cash flow.

When it comes to decide if there is a bubble, you have to think about how much is worth to you. How much would you pay to get, e.g. a 4% in dividend instead of spending the money today in a car or a TV? How much would you pay for a diamond or even a soccer ticket? (my personal for those two is quite low)? Or, How much would you pay for 1 in 21 million bitcoins?

Getting to the point, bubbles happen when you start buying something just because you think someone will pay more for it, instead of looking at how useful is it for you or for a community of people. Buying something is actually telling the market that they are wrong, and what you are buying is worth more than what the consensus means. This is being contrarian, anything else is speculating and creating bubbles.

I agree with you, bubbles can happen even if the price is not so high. The thing with bubbles is that most people thing they can get out before the bubble burst. It is like with a pyramid scheme. Most people are aware that the prices are higher than the fundamentals make sense but still go for a trade. It is all about finding a buyer that is willing to pay more than we paid, and then the bubble burst all of a sudden. One problem for comparing prices to our own preferences is that it is not universal, people will be giving different prices for a diamond or a soccer ticket. Some people want to get the cheapest ticket and are willing to sit in the back rows, while others want to sit every game in the first row and are willing to pay 1000+ per season.
3234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What online betting company you know gave you a b'day present? on: May 22, 2021, 05:53:41 PM
This is the second year in a row that I'm receiving money in my 1xBet balance as a birthday present. Last year it was around 10$, I managed to turn it to 60$ and lost it all at once. This year I got around 20$, tripled it, and withdrew lol. The funny part is I did not make any deposit since November last year. Kinda nice of them, don't you think? Does a bookmaker you play on do something sort of this apart from free slot spins that you can redeem your winnings (play x game and double your winning in case you win or play z game and get back 50% of your bet in case you lose) only by playing your own money later?

Thats awesome buddy, congratulations. I wasn't aware that we can still get birthday presents at the moment. I remember one or two years ago that I got a free betting voucher from SkyBet and got really lucky with that bet. It was around $5 and made to get $25 out of it. That was the only time I can remember that I got anything out of a birthday gift on a casino. Usually I am unlucky with any free bets or free casinos games. For example last year during december you got between 1-5 free slot games every day until christmas, and I managed to lose every single session. With sport betting it is easier to make some money.
3235  Other / Off-topic / Re: I hate small dogs. on: May 22, 2021, 05:32:08 PM
I feel you brother, in my mind small dogs are no real dogs and more like cats. My neighbor has three of these small dogs and it's so ridiculous, she is carrying them to the park and only in the park they can walk a little around. And in autumn and in winter she keeps dressing them up in all kind of clothes. This is not how you treat animals. It feels like small dogs are barking much more than bigger ones. I prefer real dogs, my favourite are German shepards.

3236  Economy / Economics / Re: Risk of Inflation in Economy. on: May 22, 2021, 05:19:59 PM
Our economy change drastically and very tangible of the eyed of everyone. We can not control the economics cycling in out of the world. More people suffer that can not afford to buy due of high demand of the prices the situation of the poor status it's getting vulnerable so it is really hard when we're in point of the high inflation more risk we can experience.

High inflation is the a very big risk factor for our saving. If we keep cash at home or in an saving account at a bank, than a few years of high inflation will cripple the purchasing power of our FIAT money. There are a few ways to save our money from inflation. One way would be to buy stocks, the return is higher so it would compensate for the higher inflation, but in stocks is also more risk, we could lose money here. A better option in my opinion to protect ourself are treasury inflation protected securities (TIPS), they are basically bonds who pay a premium based on the inflation rate each year. So the higher inflation, the higher the cocupon. If we want to save long term FIAT money than we should definitely buy some of those.
3237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being unpredictable on: May 22, 2021, 04:53:06 PM

Now online poker is more difficult and easier at the same time. On the one hand, it is more difficult to understand the strategy that opponents use, and to discover patterns. On the other hand, it is played with amateurs that is easier to win.

If you mean bluffing, then real poker player will not fall very often on that trick as long as there is strong base on the card statistics which they are analysing and practicing many times. I don't know what kind of strategy you are pertaining but being good on probability and statistics is the only strategy needed to win on poker. Bluffing is just an add-ons and will not gonna work against professional player.

The correct way of bluffing is very hard, sure we can just try to bluff with any two cars, but the risk of running into the nuts is very high like that. We need to block atleast some part of the nuts with our hand to have a plausible bluff. I agree that professional poker players rely heavily on statistics, so bluff against them is extra hard. Too many times a good poker player will just call you down with Ace or King high, because the chances that you both miss the flop, turn and river is quite high. On Youtube it seems so cool to watch the best off bluff compilations, but these are very rare hands. I think its better to just play the best hands and don't try to rely too much on bluffing.
3238  Economy / Economics / Re: Assault of Wall Street against crypto, fault put on the Chinese. Opinion. on: May 22, 2021, 01:07:40 PM

Just be aware of what is happening. The financial system is not better than ever, lot of conflicts and wars leaded by Europe and US, and inflation is coming big time!
The banks were in the red, they raided their own investors crypto portfolio and refilled with some cash.

I don't think this is right. Maybe the banks are playing their part in all of this, but the biggest blame I would givet to Elon Musk and China, both of these two large players started to bash on crypto currencies. While I disagree with both China and Elon Musk on their stand on crypto currencies, I understand where they are coming from. But in the end cryptos will prevail, we shouldn't worry too much. The crypto markets tend to moves in cycles, right now we are in a bear cycle which came very suddenly. It might take some time for the prices to recover but we will see another bull market eventualls. Let's not lose hope.
3239  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you see yourself quitting after this bullrun? on: May 22, 2021, 09:26:06 AM
The bear market happened so suddenly that I expect many of us got caught off guard. The drop in prices happened so fast that I didn't sell any coins in time. And now it feels like the prices are too low to sell any of my holdings. Prices my drop more in the future but I will keep holding. So no way I quit after the last bull run. Who knows when the next bull market will come, it could take years again.
3240  Other / Off-topic / Re: Elon's star is fading. People will be asking who he was in a couple of years. on: May 22, 2021, 09:15:29 AM
Elon Musk is the founder of spacex and co founder of tesla kasturi is now considered one of the richest people in the world and his experience in business is a source of inspiration to many. Ellen Kasturi invests in crypto to influence the price of currencies but crypto cannot control the world in the case of tesla its impact is limited that's why elon musk has become the richest man in the world. The primary reason behind elon musk's wealth growth is the rise in tesla's stock which has recently risen 4.8 percent in value for money compared to bezos.

As long as Elon Musks two companies will be successful, people are going to follow him. The number of crypto investors compared to his fellowship is fairly small. It is only the unlucky few of us here that got burned by Elons manipulations. I wish more people would wake up and stop following him blindly. The crypto world needs to start surviving without Elon Musk.
