3321  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 20, 2014, 08:55:07 PM
C1 arrived in a record time. Miner is ok, but the cooling kit is the worst thing i have ever seen. The water pump leaked on the first power up and died after 1 minute work, wiring for the fans is bad soldered and the wires are so thin, tubes for the radiators soften if the miner has temperature over 40C. They should take care about this. Syscool should raise the price for 5-10 usd and sell quality not quantity ! ! ! Next purchase will be only miner. I dont need crap

Only bad thing about this miner is the cooling kit. I replaced my defective fans (the ones Bitmain wouldn't honor with an RMA on a brand new C1) with a high quality high CFM, but quiet fan and is keeping my temps down 2 degrees across the board.

I had one broken fan - out of the box.

What make/model of fan did use for the replacement?

For the radiator fans you can use pretty much any mid range model, or 2x cheaper fans.

ahh ok so I was using the American sellers specs but when I go to Rockminer they state that its a 110 gh machine. The seller is saying that its a 120 gh machine and they also provided the cgminer. Thanks Cheesy

Yeah they're ~100Gh, after that you're likely blowing power for the sake of it.
3323  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon4 28nm on: December 20, 2014, 07:47:13 PM
Interesting design choices.
What price point?

450 usd per unit (1 terahash)
It's priced to compete. Good news.

Not really..when you add shipping these are not a good deal at all.

Shipping is a huge problem.

70 usd per unit from China to USA in small amount.

Its very reasonable when you see the size of the shipping box, its a hefty one.

Added score colorings to the first half of the list. Let me know if you like it or if it gives you eye aids. I'll revert or add to the rest of the list depending on feedback in a bit.

The colors are nice I say add it to all of them. Also I agree about SP...it is refreshing to see such a legit ASIC company these days!

yes, more colour!
this forum ain't half pretty enough, i'm so glad we have dogie  Wink

Thanks for the feedback.

Dogie is a Sparkle Doge Cheesy <3

Hello,
I'm on a tight psu budget, what is the lowest i can go on psu watt for one miner?
Thanks

Pretty low, but then again a PSU is an investment which holds its resale value well. Not choosing a suitable PSU will likely hurt you later.
Yea i understand that, when you say Not choosing a suitable PSU will likely hurt you later. what are you thinking of then?

Early life failure = RMA costs + downtime costs + replacement costs + buying a suitable PSU in the future costs.

3327  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: December 20, 2014, 07:18:13 PM
I'm sorry to say, It looks like I'm getting the same instability, that came from the latest firmware. Hash rates are dropping, and fluctuating, I'm down to 800Gh/s, even on one round it was recorded at 500 GH/s, so either network issue as mentioned above, or the hashing part of the firmware isn't correct.
Can someone advise as to whether it is worth putting in something into voltage section like : "0.8"
I have a solid 1200W running two S3's, which used to run three S3's at 450GH/s each for months until this stupid firmware.

Nothing to do with hashing changed on this version, so its likely something on your end. Else, the feedback looks pretty good and I'll open it up to a wider release.
3328  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Black Friday Deals 0.409USD/GH/s, FREE International Shipping on: December 20, 2014, 07:16:46 PM
i'm order 1 s4 antminer on dec,17th and go to bank to transfer money(swift) on dec,18th , now is dec,20th my order on the web show status: expire. if bitmain receive the  payment. will it ok for me?

I have purchased a number of units from them with swift transfers, they have always been good about it.... Suggest you email them with the swift details and your order number so they can match them.

i have only the form and the receipt from the bank , i think it's no ref number put in email. may be monday the payment will complete and my order will start delivery process.

Yes, don't worry about it.
3329  Other / Meta / Re: Spondoolies Spam on: December 20, 2014, 07:09:50 PM
So Hardware was flooded for 3-4 days. It's not such a big deal.

As of this post, 7/10 review threads, +the SP20 unofficial thread, + the spondoolies thread are all active on the front page. In part, because you are being active in each and all of them.

I'll say it again, does anyone have an objection to Bitmain paying for 50 review threads? Seems not.
3330  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner New R-Box Setup [HD] on: December 20, 2014, 06:24:20 AM
I am new here but from all the searching on the web and such I'm seeing that the recommended settings for the new rBox is 350  command line should be something like:
cgminer.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --rock-freq 350 -o stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u usernameone_1 -p 12345

330 should get you up to full speed.
3331  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: December 20, 2014, 06:23:25 AM
Can I get some beta testers for a new S3 firmware please? Download link is here, it *should* be good to go but as you know....

Rolls back to the last good patch in Oct (1024), but fixes voltage adjustment and the important reset button. Hopefully.... let me know.

3336  Other / Meta / Re: DPR subpoena on: December 20, 2014, 04:27:32 AM
This is not very surprising/interesting, but I thought I'd mention that I received a subpoena for information related to Ross Ulbricht's alleged forum account altoid. I mostly just compiled some publicly-available information. The only non-public data I had to include were some deleted posts in the heroin store topic that were not written by DPR and probably won't be useful in the case.

You might be surprised to learn that this is the first subpoena I've received for the forum.

how many NSA letters have you received?

Nice to see how you rolled over and took it up the ass from the US Attorney. Good job!

Do you fancy taking on the US Government for no apparent reason in a non personal battle which doesn't impact you at all? No? Okay then.

I think he was talking in third person and saying he agrees with dogie's replies, not theymos (if that's what confused you).

I too was confused, but it does make sense if you imaging the <> as **

3338  Other / Meta / Re: Spondoolies Spam on: December 20, 2014, 03:00:32 AM
So to continue this debate now we're in meta.... does anyone have an objection to Bitmain having 50 review threads (10 for each active product)? That's the same as ST did.

[/sarcasm]. I hope the answer is everyone, which highlights the need for a revised revision policy to prevent multi-spam of this nature.

I think for the most part it looks alright, but of course Avalon being higher than SP-Tech just does not seem right to me. Last time I checked SP-Tech never screwed over half the miners on these boards  Tongue. Anyways Dogie keep up the good work on this and the guides and have a good holidays.

ST is due to go up to 100 next time if they follow through [depending when the cycle ends.]
