Hmmm...I've had this C1 running for a few weeks now and had no problems until last night.  When I look at the status page I get this...
I've emailed support but thought I would post here as well.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

     You can configure user and selecting freqency throught web.

What he means to say is try changing the frequency, doing a power cycle and see what that does.


Yep done that...and everything else that anyone has already suggested...including the guys at bitmain. They've been responding to my emails on a daily basis as they give me new things to try, so I will say that they are certainly trying to help me. In the end they gave me an address in the US (I'm in the UK) to send the control board to.  Which means I'm already down a week and it looks like this miner will be down for at least another, although it's more likely to be several, weeks. 

As you might have guessed, I'm not a happy bunny.  However, I'm not going to flame Bitmain or be an ass.  This is the second issue I've had with Bitmain in the last month, after almost a year of buying equipment, using hashnest and mining on antpool with nary a problem.  So the end result is that my other C1's are being sold off and I'm going to let my wallet do the talking with future purchases.

Thanks for all the advice...

If its time related then start investigating power related things. The PSU would be the first thing to look at. Try powering only the bad blade pair (as long as they're the ones that power the controller) only and see if they still drop out. Alternatively, you could just swap your PSUs over and see if the problem moves.

Sometimes it happens after five minutes, sometimes it is overnight, sometimes on boot.  I'll give swapping the power supplies a try next...

I always liked the Rosewill Lightning 1300.  The EVGA 1300 equiv is good too.

I've got two of the rosewill capstone PSU's which is the 1000W version and were less than $100.  They are gold rated, single rail and a C1 is right around 80% of 1000W.  I got mine from amazon, but i don't see them in the CA store.  Full disclosure, I am having some trouble with one of the C1's but it doesn't seem to care which power supply it is on, so I think it is the C1 causing the issues.

I love the idea of modular PSU's too, but nobody makes one and sells the modular cables on the side that I can find.  There aren't usually enough PCI-E connections (the capstone comes with three, I had to use an adapter off of one of the molex connectors.  If anyone knows where to get the modular cables separately for the PSU, I'd love to know where.

edit: Rosewill isn't glamorous, but everything I have bought by them has been good quality even if it was significantly cheaper than other brands (not that I have bought a lot of their products, but the ones I have have been good).

Of course, as Dogie says, you can't really go wrong with corsair PSU"s, I've got one of their 750W ones as well.

I guess what I'm asking is what are the actual values to enter in the field.  It's not a dropdown on my miner and I don't see a list of valid values anywhere...

The default with the first firmware for the C1 was 0725, the new firmware ups that to 0760.  On the S3+, the default is 0770 and the new suggested temp. fix for the newest firmware is 0725.  If you're trying frequencies then you might want to start in this range, but probably don't want to go too far out of those bounds (around 0800 would probably be highest for OC, unless others have tested higher, but you're voiding the warranty going above the 0770 -someone else stated 0772 but that's not what I saw with putty- would be my guess).

I was in the same boat and was looking at other pumps incase this one leaked when it arrived.  It's been working fine so far, but this is the one I had my eye on incase:  http://www.frozencpu.com/products/14568/ex-pmp-171/Swiftech_MCP35X_12v_PWM_Controlled_Water_Pump_-_White.html?tl=g30c107s153 (1,000 L/H) with the optional 100 reservoir tank and heatsink, but it's a pricey alternate.

It kills me to see people buying pumps that will cost them over $100. That's approx 1/4 the price of the whole miner!
It really is unfortunate about the quality of syscooling products. I already had a leaky pump that I fixed myself and I doubt my other two will last very long. And since Bitmain doesn't RMA defective hardware, it's pretty much a one time buy and see ya later deal. EK make really good pumps, but they are expensive as heck. There just isn't any mid-range high quality pump to buy anywhere. I'm still on the search for pump alternative, but who knows.

C1 arrived in a record time. Miner is ok, but the cooling kit is the worst thing i have ever seen. The water pump leaked on the first power up and died after 1 minute work, wiring for the fans is bad soldered and the wires are so thin, tubes for the radiators soften if the miner has temperature over 40C. They should take care about this. Syscool should raise the price for 5-10 usd and sell quality not quantity ! ! ! Next purchase will be only miner. I dont need crap

Only bad thing about this miner is the cooling kit. I replaced my defective fans (the ones Bitmain wouldn't honor with an RMA on a brand new C1) with a high quality high CFM, but quiet fan and is keeping my temps down 2 degrees across the board.

the wires are so thin

I had to cut the wire on the harness because I needed 4 pins molex instead of pci-e. There is just a flimsy copper wire the size of an hair inside of it. But it's working. My kit was in perfect condition. I'm loving this near silent miner.

Your pump leaked.  Did you leave the fill cap open until the water heated up? Also do not overfill the pump because air will compress more easily than water.

Have had two working great on that adapter.



All my miners are using this little adapter. Getting power straight from the power supply using one molex connector. Here is another style.

Hi - I received my C1 today.  I got it all setup and powered on (the light is red), but I am unable to connect to it via a browser or ssh.  The manual says 192.168.1.99, but I can't get to that address.  My router doesn't even list a machine with that IP address (or anything else that might be the miner).  I have tried:

Wireless laptop to 192.168.1.99
Wired laptop to 192.168.1.99
Wired directly from laptop to miner - wouldn't open the page

I'm at a loss as what to do or how to troubleshoot this.  The manual doesn't say much except, "Step 1. Connect your miner and PC via network cable."  Well, I have tried every combination of what that could mean and none have brought me much luck.

Can anyone help?  Thanks in advance.


Turns out one of the ribbon cables wasn't seated properly.
