It was one of the unbelievable games in this season really. Milan were in control in the first half and finished it 1-0 ahead. I was having my doubts still for the second half as I wasn't trusting Mourinho about making significant changes in his tactics. But Mourinho really made me surprised. Roma were like in the game again.
Roma started to balance the game much more by the second half and it ended very well for them. Although Milan brought the score to 2-0 and most of us said that it was over, Ibanez and Abraham were there to save the team by scoring two goals in the last moments of the game by a six-minute interval. It was a really valuable one point for Roma for sure.

I think changing managers very often is not a healthy way of making that team better in time. We have seen many examples of it so far as well. Therefore I think Liverpool and Manchester City are doing the right thing by continuing with Klopp and Guardiola now. Both of them are amazing managers now and they both have a great bond with the players after all these years.
Maybe Klopp is having struggles with making Liverpool better this season. But these are all in football in the end and they will hopefully leave these bad days behind at a point.

As long as Bayern Munich don't look for a replacement for Choupo-Moting I don't expect them to think of selling him now.
Therefore Manchester United had better act knowing that first. Besides Manchester United can find a better and younger striker than him as well. If they really want to increase the number of alternatives for attacking players they should look for young and skilled players. Because I don't think they would be able to convince an experienced top striker in the middle of the season. Rashford and Martial are still in the team of course and it depends on how solid they play as well.

This season is quite interesting in terms of the positions except the lead. Lens are fighting with PSG for the league title as the gap has become only four points after PSG's loss against Lens recently. PSG would still dominate the season at some point of course. But for now I'm just enjoying the "title race". Lens have done a good job so far.
I wonder how long Lens can maintain their performance. I don't doubt their ambition but it feels like they can't maintain this until the end of the season. Lille are a good example but Lens might not manage to do a similar work.

ten Hag has surely been a better manager than Xavi. He is much more experienced first of all. He was very successful with Ajax and he needs to adapt to the English football and Manchester United now. Actually Manchester United have started to play a little better recently and it has been reflecting on their performance these days.
I think the Red Devils also have a good chance to move on. I see it like 50-50 for their Barcelona matchup for now. It all depends on whether Xavi makes the necessary moves.

I wouldn't say that Dortmund are no match for Chelsea now. Because we aren't watching the same old Chelsea anymore. Of course they have been better in the Champions League comparing to the English Premier League. But still they will need to make a big effort to be able to eliminate Dortmund. Despite Chelsea's being the favourite I still don't feel like Dortmund will give up so easily.
I know what Chelsea did to Milan in the group stage. But Dortmund can play better than Milan against them actually.

Saturday's transfer gossip:
Barcelona and Netherlands forward Memphis Depay, 28, wants to rejoin Manchester United six years after leaving Old Trafford. It seems to me that Barcelona is giving up a very good player too easily. Is the reason the club's financial debts?
I don't think Depay's departure would make a big impact on their financial condition. They will need to do much more than that to make things better for themselves. Besides this would be a good move for Manchester United while it is a bad one for Barcelona. Because Barcelona would have only Lewandowski in case they part ways with Depay so soon. They will need to find a replacement for him to secure their centre-forward position. Depay can't find much chance in the starting eleven anymore because of Lewandowski. I assume he is also eager to leave. |

I don't understand Inter. They were pretty good against Napoli and deserved that victory as well. This victory should have increased their self-confidence and morale by a high rate. But they couldn't beat even Monza today. Monza's equalizer came in the last minutes of the game and Inter couldn't answer it unfortunately.
Inter are still not able to maintain a consistent performance. They need to make these point losses as low as possible to secure themselves in top 4. I don't know if they can fight for the title. It depends on their consistency.

Arsenal's next test is going to be a really challenging one. It is an away game against Tottenham and we will see how serious Arsenal are for the championship once again here. I don't know why but I feel like Arsenal will have a really hard time in this game. Tottenham have been inconsistent recently maybe but this is a different game.
I think Conte will prepare the players well for this game. The Crystal Palace win must be also enough for them to improve their mental and focus on the Arsenal game easier. Arsenal can't beat them in this stadium for nearly 9 years. Tottenham won so many times here as well. Maybe this is the time Arsenal are getting their second loss in the season.

Of course the team don't depend on him completely but Mane's absence would be felt especially in the Champions League. Because there is a possibility that we might not see him in the first leg against PSG. This would affect their attacking line and scoring potential badly. They will need to be productive against a team like PSG to have a chance for next stage.
Because PSG have a superb trio of Mbappe, Messi and Neymar. Bayern Munich will need to be extra productive in scoring to keep up with them.

I wasn't expecting Real Madrid to lose today. Villarreal were surely going to be a tough team to beat for Real Madrid. But I still thought that Real Madrid would get at least one point. Their performance level wasn't good enough in any position. They gave big spaces to their opponent in defense and wasted important chances to score as well.
I think Villarreal deserved to win this game. They had opportunities to win the game by a bigger gap as well. Especially Danjuma's chance was very clear but he wasted it. Let's see if Barcelona manage to beat Atletico Madrid and open the gap with Real Madrid in the standings.

Juventus have a winning streak of seven games in the league now. I think it is likely to be eight games by the Udinese game next time. It is in Turin which is another good advantage. Udinese are a team that made a great start to the season but went down in the standings very quickly as well. They are still not in a very good shape these days.
I think Juventus will play a decent game and manage to beat them as well right before the biggest challenge of the season - the Napoli game. I expect a close score anyway because Juventus still have some important players missing.

The Manchester derby is going to be very exciting to follow next week.
I think Manchester City will have a more difficult job than the Chelsea game. Because Manchester United have made a really good progress in the league these days. There isn't a big point gap between them as well. Manchester City have a much better squad on paper maybe but it isn't guaranteeing anything for this game. Manchester United defeated them in Old Trafford nearly three years ago. I wonder if they can repeat it. But I don't expect Manchester City to lose this. Maybe we might see a draw with goals.

Valencia can be one of the teams not to be trusted for betting much. Normally this should have been a clear win for them. They had a quite dominant game as well actually. They dominated the game by having a 70+ percent ball possession throughout the game. They had many goal attempts at the same time. But they were bad at finding the target.
Cadiz benefited from their chances really nicely. They actually scored very early in the game but still they managed to keep the 1-0 advantage until the end.

Strasbourg were better than Lens in the previous season indeed. They beat them in both games in the end. However the balances have changed a lot by this season. Lens have made a huge improvement in their effort. We are seeing them fighting for the Ligue 1 title together with PSG at the moment. They even beat PSG and showed how serious they are about this.
On the other hand Strasbourg are the opposite of their look in the previous season. They are trying to stay in the Ligue 1. They have lost so many points so far. I think Lens will benefit from their weaknesses and win this game with a decent score.

It seems like that simeone itself that must be sacked from atletico madrid. So far there was no improvement that happened with the club under him. I meant we must also aware with the fact that if the performance from atletico under him was getting degrade anytime. I think that simeone must be the problem in the club. Felix itself already got an offer from MU. MU was giving a very cheap offer for him and it seems like that atletico madrid was feeling dilemma right now whether the club wanna try to let him go to the another club or he will stay with atletico.

I totally agree about that. I have indicated it so many times so far. Simeone has no bright future with Atletico Madrid from now on. He must also be aware of this truth now. His game plan doesn't work as good as in the past anymore. It isn't very difficult for their opponents to solve them and make them big difficulties. This team deserve a manager who loves an attacking-oriented game plan. I hope they find such manager this summer. Because if they do then I don't doubt they will sack Simeone. Maybe Simeone would like to leave before they do so. I guess the problem that Atletico has right now is the gigantic contract that they signed with Simeone. It seems they included one clause that if they miss the champions league qualification, the contact needs to be re-negotiated, but if they sack him, that is going to cost Atletico a fortune. It is also a question of alternatives regarding new coaches. Tuchel is free, but perhaps they would rather want a coach who is perfectly fluent in Spanish. Simeone has done a great job, but I agree with the majority here: it doesn't feel right anymore as it wasn't just one weak season. They have been struggling for years now while they have been a champions league favorite during Simeone's earlier years as a coach. Maybe Simeone would decide to leave Atletico Madrid then. There was some speculation before like he thought of leaving the club. It is obvious that they won't achieve anything in the La Liga as well this season. They had a horrible run in the Champions League as well so I hope he understands that his time is over with this team. There is no need to push it more. His contract ends in the summer of 2024. If he waits until then Atletico Madrid will waste their time with him a lot. |

The problematic season is continuing for Lakers.
They have such an inconsistent form really. Sometimes they start a winning streak which stops sharply all of a sudden. It is a three-game winning streak for now and we will see how long this will go on. It feels like they will finish the regular season on the brink of the playoff area. But I don't know if they would stay inside of it or outside. Because this performance isn't credible enough to be sure of something about their future. Lebron must still be quite frustrated at his team now. Because he is still playing really competitively.

The Fulham game is surely a difficult one for Chelsea.
Fulham have even a better placement than Chelsea now indeed. This should also be a clue about what can happen in this game. If we take the head-to-head games into account we can see it like it is a comfortable game for Chelsea. But I think those games would be misleading for the current situation. Chelsea are having problematic days and Fulham have the strength to steal at least one point in this. I might prefer to bet on both teams to score instead.

Milan - Roma is going to be another delightful game hopefully after the Inter - Napoli one.
Milan are quite highly the favourite in this game. There is nothing to be surprised of there of course considering the games these teams are playing these days. Roma are still a quite unreliable team. Mourinho is still using the same strategies and we saw another example of it against Bologna recently. After getting ahead by an early goal Roma started to try to secure a 1-0 win instead of fighting with all they have for more goals. This caused them to be in big trouble in the second half. But thankfully Bologna couldn't score. However Milan wouldn't forgive them if they do the same against them again.
