Status update

We have resolved the PoS issues and have re-tested Crypti on the mainnet grid. We are now in the process of publishing the latest version of the Crypti mainnet release (v0.1) to the CDN and we have also sent the release version to BTER.

In order to give BTER the time they requested for testing the deposits and withdrawals on mainnet prior to public release, we are setting the launch time to 23:00 UTC today (15/8).

Sounds great I will PM when I get home here in a hour or so...

One more question... I keep seeing the word web wallet... does this imply that the local wallet that will be downloadable in the next few days... will look different? or the same as this demo web wallet?

It will be the same, the Crypti web wallet is bundled together with the Crypti node.
344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | XCR | Launch August | 100% POS | New Source | Trading has begun! on: August 13, 2014, 03:26:14 AM
Any progress to fix the issue in mainnet?

As posted yesterday, Bitseed has started closely reviewing the PoS formula implementation code, while we in parallel are setting-up automated testing to monitor the PoS behavior in the mainnet.

Once we find out and resolve the root cause, we will proceed with the launch.

Friends, I have a diculdade! I am entering my account Cryti site (https://crypti.me:7040/), however my XCR gone, I wonder if the same will come back. Urgent help me!

These were not real XCR, but testnet ones.
As the demo runs on real genesis now, the funds are spread between Bter, Maxmint and Crypti foundation, as they will be on mainnet.

If you need some XCR to play with in order to try the release version, please PM me.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | XCR | Launch August | 100% POS | New Source | Trading has begun! on: August 13, 2014, 02:42:42 AM
Is this a "demo" or the real thing? If this is a demo... Why are the Maxmint investors crypti on it? There is no search function for the block explorer?

It's a real release node with all the planned features for this release implemented, running on top of the genesis block.

As there is no longer "free Crypti" functionality (it was actually removed from the Crypti core for extra-security), you would need some funds to test it.
PM me with any account you generate, and I transfer there some funds to play with (they naturally will not be present once we launch the mainnet).

By Maxmint investors I meant only these who contacted us back on Saturday, and asked to be included in the genesis block directly (the rest will be distributed from the account we have allocated for Maxmint).

There is a separate public block-explorer planned after the launch, we will also see if possible to implement some search functionality in the built-in block explorer in the web wallet.

Will the live wallet passphrases be generated for you or generated by wallet owner? I have seen on all test wallets passphrases generated by wallet owner.

For this release, you will need to generate the password yourself, KeePass or LastPass are a good option.

We have a secure password generator, similar to one featured on counterwallet.co, slotted to next major release.
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | XCR | Launch August | 100% POS | New Source | Trading has begun! on: August 12, 2014, 08:27:22 PM
What does this mean?

investors who use BTC can verify balances.

It meant Maxmint investors who asked to be included in genesis.
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | XCR | Launch August | 100% POS | New Source | Trading has begun! on: August 12, 2014, 07:35:40 PM
In the meanwhile and in order to show the community the progress, we will make available tomorrow (August 12th) a public demo of the release web wallet.

SyRenity, any update on this? Secondly you mentioned that there was an issue with the PoS formula. I'm assuming that your'e not talking about the distribution formula for forging here, by this you mean the whole PoS system itself? Could you elaborate a bit on this topic?

We have completed an extended testing session on the web-wallet with our QA today, and will post the access details later today.

By PoS, I meant how the forged fees calculated and applied to forging accounts in the maininet.
Bitseed now closely reviews the PoS formula code, while we set-up an automated testing to monitor the PoS behavior in mainnet.

Update - launch postponed

After spending the last few hours analyzing the mainnet PoS behavior, we have still not identified the cause of the issue.

As Hybrid PoS is the heart of Crypti, we are need to be 100% certain it operates properly, before releasing the mainnet to the public.
Therefore, we will need additional testing time, which unfortunately means we will need to postpone the launch.

In order to provide an adequate time to re-test all the PoS scenarios again (this time on mainnet), the launch will be postponed to August 15th, at maximum. This means if we have resolved the PoS issue before then, we will launch the mainnet earlier, with a proper advance notice to the community.

In the meanwhile and in order to show the community the progress, we will make available tomorrow (August 12th) a public demo of the release web wallet.

I would like to state once again, that we here at Crypti team understand the amount of trust the community has placed into us, and apologize for the unplanned delay.
We are thankful to everyone for their patience and understanding, and looking to amend this situation as soon as possible.

You talk about sweeping? Please send me more details by PM or email.

Sent you all the logs yesterday, still unfortunately doesn't work.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | XCR | Launch August | 100% POS | New Source | Trading has begun! on: August 11, 2014, 08:38:17 PM
Sounds good!!  Until the windows installer is ready

Could we get the directions for the Free Heroku host
https://www.heroku.com/pricing

Maybe the linux directions for
Amazon EC2 it's free http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/pricing/

Digital Ocean is priced ok https://www.digitalocean.com/pricing/

The installation instructions are per Ubuntu / Debian in general, I would expect Crypti node to run just fine on the other cloud providers as well.
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | XCR | Launch August | 100% POS | New Source | Trading has begun! on: August 11, 2014, 08:35:27 PM
feel like you guys are hiding the true reason behind the delay.

As explained before, we are very transparent on the current status.
There is a last minute issue that we discovered on the mainnet, and either we solve it and release to public (our preference), or we push the release to a later date, announcing it in advance.

Wulf is correct, create a better timeline please. I'll help
- Fix last minute PoS problem
- Release to mainnet
- Collect BTER BTC
- Establish foundation
- Elect members within the foundation to handle market aspects.

Now you have a coin that will run itself because people of the community like to help and donate time to things they believe have a future.

This actually our plan in a nutshell, and we look for the community participating in pushing Crypti forward as the eCommerce crypto of choice.
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | XCR | Launch August | 100% POS | New Source | Trading has begun! on: August 11, 2014, 08:29:28 PM
The delay is somewhat dissapointed, especially with the given reason. What disturbs me a bit more is that all the other devs have not checked in for a while now. Moreover, I remember from the beginning that 1 dev would be responible fro finding merchants willing to accept crypti. Unfortunatly this has been somehwat forgotten. Sorry if im wrong btw.

Boris (crypti) works 18 hours days with the team to prepare for the launch, and have not visited forums for several days as the result.
GreXX posted just today, Bitseed posted yesterday.

The bulk of communication happens in our internal project manager (some screenshots from which I've posted earlier).

There are ongoing communications with several payment and eCommerce providers, however everything pretty much pending the launch and funds release from escrows.

I appreciate what you do here Syrenity being very responsive, if you do keep on the delay please do update us on the way as these fudders will cause investors to be impatient. Just make sure you update us on the way that's all  Wink

Certainly, if we see any additional unexpected mainnet issues, we will push the release and let everyone know.
356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | XCR | Launch August | 100% POS | New Source | Trading has begun! on: August 11, 2014, 08:00:52 PM
Thanks for taking the time to clear things up SyRenity. It's fine, but please in the future try to be on time with deadlines or lengthen them to ensure you can complete all tasks. It's fine if you jet us know beforehand but it's not good to miss a deadline and keep people waiting, rather set a date which you'll know you'll be able to finish off by.

Thanks for understanding.
I agree that this delay doesn't look well, and unless we were so close, would communicate the delay to the community in advance (as we did in past).

Just illustrate the situation, here is the screenshot of the launch task status:

I'll translate this for you.

ETA on release? This is the second day now where you've delayed launch. Some may think that I'm being unreasonable here, but I'm being realistic. You had 30 days since the start of the IPO to iron out bugs, but all we've seen over the last two days is delay after delay.

You say you are checking the matter with Bitseed. Was in not Bitseed who was tasked with setting up the forum? Instead of spending such a huge amount of time on the forum, why couldn't you have spent this time rather on actually getting everything ready for release?

Secondly you mentioned there won't be any cross platform installer and we are expected to build the sources ourselves. But then you go on to mention that you are in contact with Coinsource to review the code, how about instead of spending time pushing PR releases, first finish developing Crypti for launch?

You guys seen to have your priorities mixed up, and everything currently is being done at the last minute. You had over 21 days after the IPO closed to prepare everything for launch, to ensure that it went smoothly, but we are sitting here close to two days after the launch was supposed to occur and it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime tonight.

Your organisational skills need to improve going forward, because frankly as an investor this doesnt instill much confidence at all.

First of all, I'd like to apologize for the delay. While I understand the frustration, ensuring that we release a stable product is our top priority.
Despite multiple checks and load testing performed over last few weeks, launching a new mainnet with a real genesis data is quite a complicate task on it's own.

We are well aware that we beyond the schedule here, and asking for community patience and understanding, while we finalize the remaining tasks.

As per your comments:
* Testnet passed our load-tests last week and worked stably (otherwise we would announce delay in advance)
* The delay yesterday was due to our wish to verify the genesis balance with Bter (something we could indeed do earlier)
* The delay right now is due to seeing PoS results in mainnet we haven't seen in testnet, and our decision to analyze it before letting everyone else in
* Bitseed is our lead of research and developed, simulated and tested the PoS formulas, forum is a misc task that he did
* While we do wanted to have a cross-platform installer ready in time for launch, we have not committed to it. We don't expect anyone to build Window wallets themselves, and plan to release a cross-platform installer by the end of the week
* CoinSource will confirm our real-life identities, I'm not sure where it was said they will review the code. We going to hire a professional (and known) crypto-developer, to do the code auditing and analysis
* We said several times that PR and other activities will be only after launch
* It may seem that we doing all in last minute, however there is a well defined list of tasks that were closed before this moment (here is a partial screenshot - http://take.ms/AMenM)
* Once we launch, we will welcome any feedback about our organization and management, as we always looking to improve

To summarize, we understand we are delayed, and we are not taking it easy.
The development team works non-stop right now on these last minute issues, in order to release the mainnet version ASAP.

We have launched the mainnet, however noticed a slight issue with the PoS formula.

Checking the matter with Bitseed now.

We have completed the genesis block, preparing the mainnet version now for deployment on CDN (Content Distribution Network).

Once the mainnet is released to the CDN mirrors, we will publish the download link.
