341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | Nxt | Blockchain Platform | Proof of Stake | Official on: May 08, 2017, 04:01:26 PM
Hello!

What I do not understand:

Ardor was sent when I had nxt on exchange automatically.

I thougt nxt was done then.

And now You have to keep nxt how long to get next round ardor or is there no next reund of dropping ardor?

You got Ardor.

Now holding NXT you can also get Ignis in Q3 2017, when the one time snapshot happens.
There are two caveats:
- the exact date of the snapshot is not known yet, some time in Q3,
- there is no agreement with exchanges yet to distribute Ignis, to be safe withdraw NXT from exchanges and store in your own wallet, then you'll be sure to get Ignis.
Withdraw Ardor token to your own wallet too, this is how you will get the Ardor token in the Ardor platform. If not, exchanges will get your Ardor.

This is a bit confusing: What does Ardor have to do with the IGNIS distribution? I thought it was limited to NXT at the snapshot time...

Present ARDR asset has nothing with Ignis future distribution. During Ardor network will go live, present ARDR asset will disappear from all Nxt accounts and will appear in Ardr accounts. There will be next one time snapshot of Nxt balances in Q3 2017, exact date not set yet. For every 1 NXT you'll get 0.5 Ignis and still you will have your NXT.

Problem: My passphrases do not work. I created them and saved them on paper more than a year ago on a Mac. I have not been in touch with the Nxt ecosystem since 2015. Now I am on a PC and I have triple-checked that I am correctly copying the passwords from paper to Notepad (without wordwrap or formatting), but they do not work on the web wallet. They open new accounts.

Is anyone aware of any issues with Macs and PCs treating characters differently? I do have one account that I can open with a passphrase that is all common words. The passphrases that I am having trouble with include characters like !@#$%^&*()_+[];'<>,.?/
Would this make a difference?

If it would be better for me to ask my question on another channel, please let me know where that might be. Thank you!

What webwallet do you use, mynxt.info? Your passphrase will not work in this webwallet. Try to install official wallet from nxt.org and put your passphrase here. For live support please join Nxt slack, invitation is at https://nxtchat.herokuapp.com/
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My company has tasked me with creating an altcoin on: April 16, 2017, 09:18:04 AM

https://nxt.org/news/

Ardor is NXT2.0, which means that as soon as the ARD get in production NXT will be discontinued, this is why i conseder it as no longer existing. And it will happen soon.

You should also note that NXT and ARD aren't made for integration, they are made to be a self containing ecosystem, so if his company wants to have the possibility to integrate their coin, the best is to use bitcoin forks or Ripple, as they are made to be integrated, especially bitcoin forks, made for all the languages.

NXT will not be discontinued, try to read again Smiley

"What will happen to 1.0?
The Nxt Core Devs are committed to providing support, bug fixes and any possible emergency updates for the Nxt 1.0 chain.
It will not be necessary to burn your 1.0 coins to receive 2.0 tokens, and you are free to trade your Ardor Tokens which you will receive after the snapshot period has ended.

The Core Team wants to make migrations to Nxt 2.0 as easy as possible, so is allowing a wide window for making this move.
In short, nothing will change for Nxt 1.0, except that active work on new features will come to a halt. The platform will be actively maintained, so users will still benefit from a secure and well-kept platform.
The Core Team will also provide help and support for users that wish to move their enterprises from Nxt 1.0 to 2.0."

Quote from: http://nxt.org/roadmap/

And POW is out of business for private corporations needs:). Just compare core features of Nxt and other POW blockchain and come back here and try to answer OP request again Smiley

Another possible solution and if you are not in hurry, wait for Ardor, which will go live in Q3 2017. At the moment Ardor is on testnet, you can try and test it at demo.ardorplatform.org
In short, in Ardor you will be able to easily create your own child chain with your own coin. All transaction fees on this chain are paid in your native coin. All child chains will have the same features Nxt has now: Asset exchange, voting, marketplace, monetary system, etc. More information could be found at www.ardorplatform.org or please join Nxt slack at https://nxtchat.herokuapp.com/, here you can get live support or consultations on your project.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Janus [JNS] Blockchain secured global business NXT - Ardor on: April 13, 2017, 08:34:44 PM

Oh this is good news i also missed this somehow https://www.nxtfoundation.io/janus-nxt-foundation-supporter/
Its rare to see teams donate good on you.

What for is this kind of verification? As far I know nxt folks dont have a foundation in the real sense sense of the word, just one anorexic alcoholic calling himself a "committee". Which is quite disturbing because his look and manners shy people away from nxt and this explains why there are no active submissions on their forums and why alcoholic is ever offline.

What are you talking about? Did you check https://www.nxtfoundation.io/?
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ARDOR | Scalable Blockchain-as-a-Service Platform | Proof of Stake on: March 29, 2017, 06:45:45 AM
Sorry, I didn't read all de earlier posts, but
What is the exact benefit that Ardor coin owners will have from the Ardor child chains?
it is only the price change of ardor coins or will there be other income from the child chains?

Forging all child chains and receiving the ARDR fees from the forged blocks.

Maybe will be lottery on it also like on Nxt to receive more tokens.

ARDR has its own client? Not only a token?

You can see and test upcoming Ardor client at demo.ardorplatform.org. Just create an account and ask for some testnet coins.

First of all, it was a question, not a statement. If spend limits are set to $1000, how do you allow users to spend more. Check the ticket 70754, to understand what I'm talking about.

I checked the ticket. The support team already is working with the bank to solve it, as you cannot verify your account. Thank you for your patience

Good, thank you, will wait for solution. I think you'll have more such complaints, as old users felt under these new limits out of the blue sky. It's ok for new users after these new limits was set, as they were informed about it.
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: March 23, 2017, 06:09:36 AM

But yeah, of course, all the "developers ground" and "business interconnection" is with NEM (very probably) better and thus more hopeful, than NXT(/ARDOR) has or had ever previously in the past.

So far we can name few big business that are using mijin, but such news are absent for 99% crypto apart of BTC/ETH maybe.
If programming NEM will be so easy i bet it will go higher just becouse of that.

I know there is many IF but NEM devs shown so far VERY good track record they deliver while most others just promise.

PS: NXT promisses 1000tx/s and what Cheesy ?... try not judge NEM too much. / NXT never wanted even migrate to C++ with codebase.
Here those guys are ending code. Its fair judge after delivery.

Where did you see Nxt promises 1000tx/s? Why Nxt needs to migrate to C++?

Note: card load and unload limits are different. A card load limit is $2500 while an unload (or bitcoin purchase) limit is $1000

Best regards,
Wirex support team

Is this a joke? Smiley Or a scam? Or support incompetence? So I deposit $2500, but can spend only $1000. WTF? @Wirex, please explain.

Hello Martis Martis. It's not a joke, neither a "scam". It's how the limits work for Unverified accounts. You can learn more about by reading this article:
https://help.wirexapp.com/hc/en-us/articles/207870815-Wirex-card-limits

I'm sorry you don't like or understand how this limits works. However, There's an easy solution for this. Check this link to learn more about the verification process:
https://help.wirexapp.com/hc/en-us/articles/207161719-How-and-why-to-verify-Wirex-account-

Hope this information can help you. Please, try to be less abrasive next time. Wirex have been around for 3 years already, and developed the service way further than any other bitcoin debit card service. Why bother "scamming" our users, When we can aim for long term success? Come on, be real  Wink

How many ardor will be in circulation?

Same amount as NXT, 1B

I've got a question:

Is it possible to realize "pegged childchains" with Ardor?

An example: Ignis is probably the strongest childchain in the beginning phase. Now I could want to create a "IgnisPeg" childchain pegged to the Ignis value. For this to happen, I would have to lock the amount of Ignis I want to use as the "backing" of the peg, for example, 1000 Ignis. On the IgnisPeg childchain I then could issue 1000 IgnisPeg with a value of 1 IgnisPeg = 1 Ignis. The total amount of IgnisPeg coins could at some moment be burned and then the original Ignis I used to back the childchain would be unlocked.

That mechanism (very similar to what Blockstream is developing) could help to further enhance scalability once the Ignis childchain blocks are full.

What do you mean by "the Ignis childchain blocks are full."?
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Janus [JNS] Blockchain secured global business NXT - Ardor on: February 17, 2017, 11:20:22 AM

Just create new nxt.properties file and put nxt.isLightClient=true in it, save and restart the client.

-luis.

Hey,

I am using windows 10 can you tell me where I have to create nxt.properties file?

Thank you

In C:\Users\Yourusername\AppData\Roaming\NXT\conf There should be already created nxt.properties file, just edit it with notepad or other and add that parameter. And, of course, restart NRS server, which will use new set parameter.
356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: February 14, 2017, 10:52:07 PM
@lurker10 - text in bold emphasis noted. Thanks.

Looking in my AppData > Roaming > NXT folder, I have 3 sub-folders:

conf (with .lock; logging properties; and nxt.properties files inside);
logs (with nxt; and nxt.log.1 files inside); and
nxt_db (with nxt.h2; and nxt.trace files inside)

... so what do I need to delete?  There is no "lib" folder that I can see connected to NXT (I do have a general Libraries folders with Documents; Music; Pictures; and Videos files inside, but no NXT). I assume that the conf and logs folders should be on the delete list while the nxt_db (database?) folder should be kept intact.

I think non-techy NXT adherrents, like myself, might appreciate guidance on this (my operating system is 64-bit Windows 7).  Smiley

"lib" folder is in NRS installation folder, which is in C:/Program files/NXT. So just delete "lib" folder from here and you can install new version over the old one.

Thanks for sharing: is it a mandatory update or we can still run our 1.11.2 without security issues?

It's not mandatory, just few bugs fixed. Check the changelog in the given link.

It feels pretty nice to me to visit this thread that is indeed the original announcement posted by BCNext on September 28, 2013. Unfortunately, although having been here at the time of its initial announcement, I've not been among the historical folks (and first adopters) that sent in 21 BTC after a period of more than 40 days... Compare this to the many gigantic ICO's we have seen thereafter, and are still seeing today. I really had a crush on the original NXT and its evolution process, specifically the first few months after its birth.

Welcome back Smiley Please join Nxtchat slack, here you'll get more up to date information what is going on with Nxt and Ardor. Invitation is at https://nxtchat.herokuapp.com/

So what's the point of Ardor if there is already NXT established for a few years?

Few post above Smiley
