forgot I had nxt I bought 2 days after launch...
what's the best thing to do right now?
Not logged into nxt since the day I bought the coins. Should I log in and find out how to claim by ardor or is there some reason to leave it all alone until q3 2017?
Don't have a huge amount I think I only bought about 3 LTC worth but got about 70k nxt back then. Nxt has been up and down in price since then so I probably missed the best time to sell as usual.

If you remember your passphrase you now have the same amount of ARDOR (70k) and you will get half of that (35k) of Ignis (first child chain token) in the Q3 2017 snapshot if you don't sell it before then. I would wait and do nothing unless there is financial emergency, in fact that's precisely what I do.

Had it this long may as well keep a bit longer. Does the ardor just pop up in the nxt wallet? I never liked the nxt wallet before hopefully is easier to use now.

Surely You lost the best time to sell, yes, but even so you can buy a little more than 115 LTC now, which would already be a profit.

Ardor will be the new forging token in Ardor (NXT 2.0) and Ignis the transactional token of Ignis child chain, the mainnet will be launched in Q3 2017. Yes, it will be there for you in the new wallet when it is launched, with the same passphrase.

Bought some NXT and decided to try forging but when was going to activate forging feature in the same pop up where I should type my passphrase I had this warning displayed " Your passphrase will be sent to the server! ".
What's the reason of it? Does it mean my passphrase is not sure on server?
Another question: whats' the minimum suggested amount of NXT I should hold to have a decent return from forging?

Which client version do you use? This warning comes when you try to forge on the remote node as to forge on remote node is not the safest way, as you need to sent passphrase to this node. IF you forge on your local node, there should be no warning. To forge, you need at least 1000 NXT, which has at least 1440 confirmations on the network. Very rough forging calculator could be found at https://www.mynxt.info/forging_calculator.php

Not sure what forging on my local node means (sorry for being noob) : I just clicked on the "not forging" red light displayed under my NXT balance but didn't start forging process due to that warning I wrote about. So I still ma not forging at the moment.

So I still ma not forging at the moment. Do you access your node going to http://localhost:7876 ? this would make it a local node. If you run a node on another machine, on your intranet or in the big internet, it's a remote node relative to your browser and you will see the warning. Forging requires sending a passphrase to the node. If it's sent to another machine it goes through communication lines and can be compromised. In that case it is recommended to run the remote node on a https:// connection and / or create a small forging account and send its passphrase to the remote node, then lease your balance from the main account to that small forging account. If your forging account passphrase is compromised on a remote node that other people can have access to (hosting company staff as an example), only few coins of the forging account will be lost. Your main account's coins will be secure.

No. (I just launch downloaded wallet). Should I instead browse that link and to be sure my passphrase wouldn't fall in someone else hands? Consider me a completely imcompetent user who just installed desktop wallet, purchased some NXT and also bought some assets: that's all I'm able to do at the moment; cannot even get what "running a node" means. I just noticed there is a forging option in my wallet and would like to take advantage of it without risking my full stack and also without too much hassle if possible. Thanks in advance for your patience.

First of all congratulations. Don't worry about the public key, the popup will go away when you make your first outgoing transaction. Buying Ardor on the asset exchange is one outgoing transaction you can make. How to buy Ardor: To get Ardor in your nxt client go to Asset Exchange link and click on 'add an asset', copy-paste this id 12422608354438203866Verify that name of asset is ARDR and issuer of asset is: NXT-FQ28-G9SQ-BG8M-6V6QH From there you will see the trading desk of Ardor and can place buy and sell orders. When you buy Ardor that way, it will automatically be placed in your account. Ignis will be distributed in a few months, distribution based on your balance of NXT, don't spend all NXT on Ardor, leave some for Ignis 1 million is great for forging, when you forge you secure the network and your investment. Hope it helps.

It feels pretty nice to me to visit this thread that is indeed the original announcement posted by BCNext on September 28, 2013. Unfortunately, although having been here at the time of its initial announcement, I've not been among the historical folks (and first adopters) that sent in 21 BTC after a period of more than 40 days... Compare this to the many gigantic ICO's we have seen thereafter, and are still seeing today. I really had a crush on the original NXT and its evolution process, specifically the first few months after its birth.

Invitation is at https://nxtchat.herokuapp.com/Thank you very much, martismartis. Actually I've not been absent entirely as I've still been a silent reader for the most part. I know about the existence of and plans for Ardor, for instance. I will do as you suggest and join the Nxtchat slack to follow what's up in the scene.
