341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1600 series Nvidia GPUs are significantly better than everything else. on: March 20, 2019, 08:20:34 PM
So according to my findings, no, 1600 series Nvidia GPUs are not significantly better than everything else.

And that is not a claim I ever made. I was pointing out that lunos advice and outlook on things was very one sided to his situation and when you take into account the price of the cards the 1660Ti is a much better choice as a way to get into mining without breaking the bank. I was referring to the price/performance ratio and the payback times involved. No matter what algo you pick, the payback on the 2080 makes it a horrible choice for mining and I stand by that statement.

Not true at all  according to whattomine .  If your mining at 10 cent watt rate as an average home miner mining ethereum at 30 hashrate at 70 watts and if you use the 2080 rtx to mine zcoin at 3.6 hash rate at 150w.  The 2080 rtx actually has a faster pay off period. About 1376 days to payback 1660 ti for $289 for the evga gaming edtion or 1344 payback for the top of the line $780 dollar for evga xc gaming edition.  Even faster payoff if you choose the cheaper 2080 rtx gigabytes at $730 (1258 days)

So now you gota ask yourself.  What has better resale value, what's more future proof,   Would you rather be stuck with some 1660 ti or stuck with a 2080 rtx.   I think the answer is quite clear that the 2080 rtx is the most superior cost effect mining card to date.

If i bought a 1660 ti I would have major buyers remorse I could have bought a better card like a 2080 rtx and have faster ROI

2080 does seem like the sweet spot , 2070 seems not bad either for $489

To me the 2070 is the Best Buy , it has the power of a 1080ti , etc cores and $300 newly less than a 2080 rtx

1300 day payback period is a joke, your card will be worth $200 and obsolete for mining.  This would make your card the same age as a 980 ti, selling for $180 on ebay.  So your 1,300 day return is $180.  Unless their is a rally, which is more then likely to happen.
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How many of you are GPU only miners? on: March 20, 2019, 03:49:22 AM
How many of you are GPU only miners?  I have 75 GPUS running for 2 years with 4.2 kwh electricity and the GPUS are consistent making money and paid the themselves off 18 months ago.  I'm planning on slowly expanding but I don't see any reason to buy ASICs, the ASICs I've had have been 50/50 profitable.  With GPUs they also have high resale value if you want to close up shop and liquidate everything.
What coin have you been mining with 75 GPU's? does all of it mine the same coin or you are distributing it with different coins? you have security with GPU's if you want to sell them if not satisfied, plenty of buyers are still there for their rigs built not for mining and are looking for under the market value but at competitive prices in good condition.

AMD is mining eth or eth classic.  Navidia is whatever is the most profitable, right now rvn, rito and xzc.

344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z11 equihash miner from Bitmain Released - Antminer S17 PRO 2nd GEN on: March 19, 2019, 11:12:10 PM
Not sure how great these are, the the power to hash is not no better then a Innosilicon A9.  I have some z9s and mini z9s and I'm going to skip these.  Right now it would take 100 days to pay off, throw in difficulty rise with the threat of ZEC going back to GPU only mining its a big risk.
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1600 series Nvidia GPUs are significantly better than everything else. on: March 19, 2019, 08:23:44 PM

I think two steps ahead and focus on whats going to get me the maximum amount of money in a few years of mining and not selling a single coin till we hit next parabolic bull cycle.  I always pick out my gpu's based on a  rig setup that will allow me to mine the most popular new coins like grin and beam early before asics hit them and I pick hardware that has most efficiency for the long game so i don't get gpu liquidated.

Man you sound so delusional its hilarious

Same here good stuff but is eth going to swithc to PROGPOW?  What kind of performance will a 470 have in progpow?  Rx 400 and 500 eries are cheap right now if they preform well on prog they are a steal.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1600 series Nvidia GPUs are significantly better than everything else. on: March 18, 2019, 07:16:27 PM
2080 rtx is the new king. I don't touch low class stuff like the 1660 ti. Compare mining specs on grin.

With low electrical cost a 2080 will take you 1,000 days to payback your initial investment.

I got a couple of these beast 7990s, they run hot as hell.  Isn't the power usage too high?
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Grow tent - 72 GPU's , Help! :) on: March 15, 2019, 10:19:53 PM
I have a detached garage with 80 gpus and 5 z9s.  It use to be 20-30 degress hotter then the outside temp.  I use to have fans blowing in and out but never got it cool, until I switched all fans to blow air out and one low entrance for the cool air to come in.  I have so much air being forced out the vacuum will suck the door open.
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HashAltcoin F1 Blackminer - Unbiased review - 08 October update - Video Review on: March 14, 2019, 01:20:48 PM
any follow up? curious about these FPGA miners and from what I have seen recently they do not seem profitable so I am curious now that you have had it several months what is your resulting opinion of it?

I have on F1 hosted and the profit keeps decreasing, they are making too many and killing the profit.  Started off at $10 a day now its $4.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: March 12, 2019, 03:09:21 PM
XZC popped this morning and is super profitable on nVidia currently.

looks like a pump n dump, hopefully it can keep some of the gains.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Reliable internal information of Blackminer Team on: March 11, 2019, 04:48:20 PM
The profit is dying on their minable coins, if they don't have a new profitable algo no one will buy a $3,200 miner to make $5 a day, lol.  These things so far are no better then an ASIC, seems like they are producing so many its killing the profit.
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 【BOT】 🌟 C.A.T. Cryptocurrency Automatic Trader 5.2 🌟 on: March 08, 2019, 01:59:18 PM
Any way to automatically generate a stop for a percentage under your buy price?  for example if you buy coin at 100 and set a 5% stop, the stop would be 95.

Stop loss?
or a Price limit?

Stop loss

stop loss is only on pong orders.
Just set the stop loss parameter (Sell all or Buy all) at -5% from reference price (the ping price)

Thanks got it!

I have 80 gpus 1070s , 470s and some z9s and a F1 Blackminer with .049 KHW power been mining for 2 years.  I'm not making 2k a month anymore lol more like $1400 before electricity

Do those bots work?  I've traded stocks and futures for 20 years and I could never get any type of bot to work.

The bots you see for sale do not really look.  If they bots were successful the wouldn't be for sale in the first place as the owner would rather use it himself to make profits.  The only ones that are worth anything are private and not for sale.

I bought the cat bot and have been testing it.  Its makes trading very easy for me, I set my trade parameters run it and it executes my trade with no human input.  I set my entries exits and stops, it executes and removes my emotions from the trade which is a huge plus.  I think if you tried to use it as a black box you would get burned.

There's a few trading bots out there that people have worked with and been more or less successful so...

The only interesting thing about your paragraph above is what you in fact did not write...

How much is it making you?

Grin

I’ve been trading RVN and BNB and made about 32% so far.  But RVN and BNB are on tear, so it’s been easy.  As long as you trade an uptrend the bot is good.

One thing I’m going to try when the trend turns on rvn and BNB, is to setup one trade a day to make a .5%to 3% and be done for the day.  A couple % a week for the long term would be huge.

359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are Mining Still Profit? on: March 04, 2019, 05:52:31 PM
High pessimism is great for market bottoms  Wink.

Another big lie in crypto, is saying that bottoms are used by investors to see the potential margin of profit they can make. If a coin will not go below 80, for example, this means you can buy at 80 and be quite sure that the coin will not fall below that.

go and see how many users in this forum have bought ETH at 500$ thinking it would not go below that. Moreover, if the market condition is like it is right now, i can assure you that noone is willing to pump the coins if afterwards, and apart from risk, they will have to pay from 20 to 30% taxes thing that didn't happen in the past (so you were more willing to take that risk for extra profit).

and another thing: watch out bears, the market is dying. If you keep dumping coins , making it impossible for bulls to succeed, you can be facing a disaster. This problem with crypto related to everyone watching for their own pocket not taking care if the market lasts 2 years or 2 weeks, just squeezing as much money as possible before it goes to hell,  reminds me of a scene that i personally saw in my country.

A company was giving away umbrellas for free on an airport a rainy day. The moment they announced it, people were getting 2,3 or even 4 umbrellas. They didn't care if there was people interested aswell. They only cared about them.

If you dump, and dump and dump, and always this way, you are destroying the market now, when you could just let it live for more. I don't understand this greedy bastards (the risk traders) doing what they do collapsing a hole system. Anyway, i don't care, i have nothing in crypto so get rekt (the market) if it has to.

Sounds like march 2009 in stocks.
