341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It advisable to quit my present job for bitcoin? on: November 24, 2017, 10:02:06 PM
If you have to ask then I will say no because you are not confident enough. I wouldn't have been able to have been confident enough until I got a job that pays crypto FT. Luckily I got one so I was able to quit my job. If you feel you have enough stashed away then that isn't good enough. You need to have something going that will be a solid way for you to earn BTC now and in the future.
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth to pay $8200 for 1 BTC if you are a newbie? on: November 23, 2017, 09:06:08 PM
Is bitcoin still a good investment for newbies? Is it worth to pay almost $8200 for 1 BTC today?

How a newbie is connected to an investment?
If you can understand what is cryptocurrency and what is an investment, then that is enough to start.

The question you should ask, is it the right time to invest?

The answer is, no one can predict and it is impossible to say future price.
 * If you have the ability to hodl long term then buy now. In case the price drops from your buying price.

An example,
I bought siacoin at BTC0.00000584 and now the price is BTC0.00000066
Can you imagine how much loss I am digesting? At this point I have nothing to do except holding and wait for the price rise.

So anything can happen. No one can predict future. All you need is patience and ability.

You should definitely pay that much and it was totally worth it. If I told you 1 BTC will be worth millions and billions in 10-20 years from now would you still do everything you could to get that one bitcoin? Hell yes. So learn as much as you can and buy as much as you can as anything under 10,000 USD and you are winning when it comes to buying for long term profits with BTC.
343  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Volatility on: November 22, 2017, 05:46:09 PM
Is volatility over in cryptocurrencies? Nothing is moving.

have you actually checked the market before saying this?
bitcoin has gone up about $300 and then fell $500 and went up $600 in the past 48 hours.
the altcoins for the most part followed the same pattern more or less. at least the top altcoins with high volume and USD market did.
there are currently a couple of other altcoins that are getting pumped as we speak. one of them is ZCoin which has been pumped about 60%. another is NXT which has been getting pumped for the past 2 days. I believe it has gone up nearly 100%. Dash has also been getting pumped although with a slower pace.

there are lots of others that are getting dumped. such as Gas, Ethos, Veritaseum, Ark. and soon all the coins that are being pumped today will be getting dumped like these.

you see, you just have to look around a little to find all the opportunities for profit all around you and then take advantage of them each day to build yourself some constant income.

This last volatility occurrence was pretty rare compared to how nonvolatile BTC has been as the years progress and the network gets stronger. It was of course though, because of FUD created from Bitcoin Cash. They did a huge pump trying to get people to buy into it, but of course it didn't work. There are virtually no wallet providers, and barely any developers. It's purely speculative.
344  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Now with this tether hack bitcoin may go to 9k fast on: November 21, 2017, 09:46:36 PM
After the tether hack news earlier today, I believe that people will start shorting tether, causing an increase in bitcoins price that might go to 9k sooner than later. What are your thoughts?

Since Tether is the only issuer of tether coin, they can easily boost supply of the coin accordingly to the stolen/hacked amount. It does not represent a risk for tether. If there is some unusual price action on tether, it is just just a bumpy road.  Smiley

Sure, and that is the scary part in my opinion, boosting the supply, creating money out of thin air. I think this event will raise many questions about tether and we'll not like the answers.

And that right there is the problem many have with tether, Theymos (the highest ranked guy on this forum who's basically in charge) wrote some interesting posts about it just the last couple of days. With regard to the OP, tether collapsing will almost certainly lead to a fall in bitcoin price and definitely not an increase. Unless you are talking about BTC to USDT, but that will not be a good measure because if tether collapses then it will be worth nothing in terms of USD.

That's right any time the USD fails or a big cryptocurrency fails the BTC price goes higher. This is because they are all speculative and have no real long term value. Bitcoin is sound money and it's the universal ledger right now. You haven't heard it in the news, and you won't get a letter in the mail, but BTC is the universal ledger because it is immutable. No other money type can be that
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: November 21, 2017, 02:56:41 AM
Everybody wants to profit from his business.Holding a bitcoin is also a business. So he will get hold of it, what is there to be greedy? He can not be greedy in any way.
You are right a lot of the people are now using the bitcoin and with the time it will become the world currency it is the best time for the bitcoin and the value of the bitcoin will be high as a lot of the people are buying and the bitcoin and holding s the basic strategy of the bitcoin is making the all things easy and the safe for the people who are buying and selling the bitcoin now the bitcoin is increasing so it is eh best time to hold the bitcoin.

Most of the people if get more income and it will get the more information for investing. then people get more money and save for future purpose. so it will hold the bitcoin greedy. Bitcoin is future currency. So it will hold the bitcoin some future purposes. Bitcoin is give more information for the business improvement and process handling. Bitcoin is good to use for the future growth.

Holding bitcoin is not greedy because the ones who bought them early on took a chance. Anyone, unless you lived under a rock, heard about Bitcoin early on enough, where if they took it seriously and looked into it enough to be able to comforatbly invest in it then they would be laughing right now because that would've been under $500 and now look at what the price is, and it's only still getting started.
346  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin kill maximum alt coins? on: November 17, 2017, 04:23:04 PM
bitcoin can and will kill maximum altcoins because these coins base their value off of bitcoin. Not only do they base their value off of BTC but they only exist because of the shortcomings BTC is currently experiencing, which is normal for a consensus network aiming to serve a global market. Once BTC scales to become a payment system and the Grin blockchain with the Grin currency is here it will replace all other altcoins eventually.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoins To Invest. on: November 13, 2017, 11:00:50 PM
Best altcoins to invest in are privacy related ones that are quicker than the BTC network in confirming transactions. Other than that I don't recommend investing in altcoins at all as much more is to be made simply buy buying and holding BTC for the long term. I guess it's hard when you don't have much to hold so you risk trying to win big, but all those losses could've added up.
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTF is going on with BitcoinGold??? on: November 10, 2017, 01:22:20 PM
WTF did you think was going to happen? These devs copying the Bitcoin code and trying to start from scratch with a better algorithm are just using the coin for a pump and dump scheme. They market it as being better than BTC and will have better PoW algo, but when it came time to perform they didn't produce. No shit! Who the f*ck are these devs anyways? Nothing compares to BTC devs.
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Way too many new coins - is this a real threat for crypto ? on: November 09, 2017, 08:56:36 PM
This is a good thing for Bitcoin because as more time goes by and more attempts of new coins marketing themselves as better, the better it'll be for the price of BTC because that means they will quickly fail while BTC just keeps chugging along as more developers around the world add to the network to make it stronger ultimately. This doesn't happen with altcoins at all.
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rise of the Alts! on: November 08, 2017, 08:44:28 PM
Haha altcoins are next on the list! People are realizing forks have no long term value, and are strictly used for speculation. Soon people will realize alts are also strictly, 99% of them, speculative and base their value off of ETH which is the biggest scam out there. This scam birthed a bunch of other scams that are only being used to trade for profits right now and will never be used for anything else.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in alts in 2018. on: November 06, 2017, 04:35:51 PM
Investing in alts in 2018 is probably one of the worst things you can do with your money. Altcoins were already extremely high risk vs reward, but now that Ethereum is switching to PoS this has huge implications moving forward because it will be that much harder to create an ERC20 token and launch an ICO. ICO's will become worthless. They only had value because of ETH and BTC together.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: interest in bitcoin is increasing on: November 06, 2017, 02:22:24 PM
The interest in Bitcoin is increasing immensely at the moment. I remember the price at the beginning of the year and I really started to see a pickup in the amount of people that were attending the Meetups I organized. With the price the way it is now and will be performing over the winter I can't wait to see what kind of interest and turnout there is at my Meetups next year.
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "The Real Bitcoin" on: November 04, 2017, 03:52:30 PM
The real Bitcoin is the one with the longest chain that is valid. In order for it to be valid, the chain has to have the most cumulative Proof of Work under consensus rules. In order to do that, you must have a full node and the full nodes on the Bitcoin network are extremely decentralized and have no intention of switching their consensus rules to a chain that is clearly not valid as it does not benefit the whole network.
354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is it the Future of Banking ? on: November 02, 2017, 08:32:34 PM
Bitcoin is not the future of banking. Banking will be replaced as central banking, and private institutions like the federal reserve possess extreme power and have been aware of the extreme systemic failure that is our current financial system of FIAT money. Bitcoin is sound money and is not going anywhere. Look at the price right now, it's clobbering anything else that exists. Why? because the world thinks it's the best.
355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Transaction Fees Sustainable? on: October 29, 2017, 08:17:20 PM
The transaction fee is there to incentive the network to secure it and use it otherwise there would be no one that wants to mine or hash to keep the network secure and honest.
356  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is a good investment now, because... on: October 29, 2017, 02:21:02 PM
Bitcoin is a good investment now because it's sound money that will replace gold and the dollar and everyone is talking about it now so you better get it while it's cheap.
357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is bitcoin on: October 29, 2017, 01:55:22 PM
Bitcoin is a universally scarce digital ledger that can not be changed or tampered with like gold, or fiat. So it is a network, and a currency. The network is what secures the value.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC compared to BTG. on: October 29, 2017, 01:21:54 PM
Bitcoin is not even comparable to BTG. BTG literally just copied the code, added some tweaks, and slapped Bitcoin Gold on it. The community behind BTG is non-existent.
359  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason why you should Buy bitcoin now on: October 29, 2017, 12:57:18 PM
The number one reason why you should buy Bitcoin now is because over half have already been distributed on the network and roughly 25% have been lost. Also there is huge hype around it right now, so buy while it's still cheap.
360  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the world really needs virtual currencies on: October 28, 2017, 02:58:20 PM
The world needs virtual currencies because there is technology all around the world that exists that would work perfectly with it and allow for ample innovation.
