3582  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: i lost 20% of my budget on: December 10, 2017, 02:38:47 AM
why are all these cryptocurrencies are going down?

Altcoin down because supply & demand not balance anymore, it's natural no one has control about it. You should know, this is the best moment you can buy again but first, fix your strategy ( it will change your stop loss, take profit and money management ). Image if cryptocurrencies never go down, you'll never have chance to buy again ( grow up capital ). Face it and enjoy your activity. Have a nice day.
3583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why so many altcoins? on: December 09, 2017, 07:03:50 PM
hello!

why are there so many coins to choose from, do they really each have something unique about them?

Every coin ( altcoin ) have their own unique and that's why supply and demand created. Nothing too worry about number of altcoin but how we take the right coin to replace our money is important. As long their pattern still follow bitcoin, I'll create some opportunity by doing some trade/ invest with it. Just keep follow the trend and always update crypto news.

3585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I just divorced my wife and put every cent I have into Blackbytes on: December 09, 2017, 05:18:31 PM
To be honest I´d been thinking of the divorce for a while now. My ex wife got 45% of my assets which really hurts, but I´m absolutely convinced holding Blackbytes is going to make me a multimillionaire Roger Ver style in US dollar terms very soon anyway.

At the age of 39 I´ve also moved back in with my parents which doesn't feel great, but no pain no gain. Every cent I have is now invested in Blackbytes. Further any spare cash I earn I´m going to be investing into Blackbytes until November 2019. And I´ve given up alcohol for the next two years too, which probably rules out the chances of me finding a girlfriend any time soon.

What are Blackbytes?

Blackbytes is the privacy coin of Byteball project. Another Bitcointalk user LoyceV wrote a good FAQ page here explaining Blackbytes https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2020882

Why have you never even heard of Blackbytes?

Blackbytes isn´t listed on Coinmarketcap because there is currently no public API available that can give Coinmarketcap the data they need to add a coin.

Further, Blackbytes isn´t traded on any "normal" exchange yet. To buy them you need to pair your Byteball wallet with another wallet, and then trade using a smart contract. One such place you can buy them is http://freebe.byte-ball.com/ Blackbytes are simple to buy once you´ve done it, but the first time I think it can be a bit daunting for some people. Its much easier to buy other currencies using Bittrex etc where you can just login and basically click ´´buy´´ and you're done. This is one reason why the price is currently so low.

I think it only became possible to buy Blackbytes using smart contracts within the wallet within the past few months. Before that I think there was very little trading done at all of Blackbytes. Generally the people that owned them received them through the Byteball/Blackbyte airdrop distribution model (the project is distributing 98% of coins for free as mass market adoption is the aim).

Strong Community

Byteball/Blackbytes has a strong community behind it. This is the original announcement thread from Tony, the founder from September 2016 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608859.15500

As I write this there are 776 pages of comments on the Bitcointalk thread.

Marc De Mesel is a prominent Youtuber who has been posting videos on crypto since 2013 odd (unlike many new crypto Youtubers who don't know much about crypto and only jumped on the bandwagon in 2017). Marc is a fan of Blackbytes, and explains why he likes it 11 minutes into this video:

https://youtu.be/8ofu7HpmIno?t=11m2s

The Technology

Blackbytes/Byteball use DAG similar to IOTA. There is a comparison of the coins here https://byteroll.com/comparison-iota

One of the main benefits of DAG over Proof of Work coins like Bitcoin is it is much more scalable.

Marc De Mesel did a short 13 minute presentation on Blackbytes and Bytes in November 2017 which explains some of the technology https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E16xnZ14S2A

Blackbyte transactions are not listed on a public blockchain, but instead sent peer to peer. For added anonymity they can be sent over TOR which is a feature built into the wallet.

It's worth noting it's actually easier to send Blackbytes to someone than using most crypto currencies. There is no copying and pasting of wallet addresses needed. Instead you just insert your address by clicking a button in the chat section of the wallet. The other person then clicks on your address and selects how much to send.

The Unique Selling Point (USP) of Blackbytes

On the Byteball wiki https://wiki.byteball.org/ it's stated the USP is the smart/conditional payments. The idea is you set a condition for how the payee (receiver) gets the money. If the condition is not met, the smart contract sends your money back.

This is actually how buying Blackbytes works on the freebe.byte-ball.com/ exchange. You send Bytes in the smart contract, and the holder of the Blackbytes sends you Blackbytes in exchange for your Bytes. If the contract isn't completed within 1 hour you get your money back.

How to view the current price of Blackbytes

Remember Blackbytes aren´t currently listed on Coinmarketcap. To see the current price visit http://freebe.byte-ball.com/  and hover your mouse over the green line

So from when I took the screenshot you can see the current price was 0.058 Blackbytes per Byte.

Future price estimates

The USD price of Blackbytes is closely tied to the price of Bytes https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/byteball/

As I write this, Bytes cost roughly 17 times more than Blackbytes. However there are 2.1 more Blackbytes than Bytes. So 17 divided by 2.1 is 8.1 (rounded). The current market cap of Byteball is $153 million. 226 divided by 8.1  = 18.8, which is the current market cap of Blackbytes.

I believe $18.8 million for a privacy coin on a scaleable technology (DAG) is a crazy low market cap.

So on a like for like basis, Blackbytes cost around 8 times less than Bytes. Blackbytes are basically the same as Bytes, however they are better as they have the added benefit of being private. So I believe the price of Blackbytes should be HIGHER than Bytes, never mind 8 times lower!

Privacy is an important area for people, just look at the rise of Monero and Zcash. However Monero has got the POW problem of rising transaction costs, and Zcash is a closed system that isn´t trusted by many in the crypto world. There are a bunch of other privacy coins out there, but only Blackbytes is using scalable DAG technology.

Blackbytes are currently hidden from the market which is why I believe they are priced so low

Blackbytes have an even bigger marketing problem than virtually all other coins, as they aren't listed on Coinmarketcap. Further for the average man on the street they are currently much harder to buy than say buying Bitcoin on Coinbase.

Future trading of Blackbytes

If Blackbytes were traded on a centralized exchange, the exchange would have enough information to reveal the origin and destination of blackbytes, and amounts traded, which defeats their purpose. Blackbytes hence can only be traded on decentralized exchanges, with conditional payments in the Byteball wallet. Peer discovery has to happen outside the Byteball wallet. As I write this in November 2017 a decentralized exchange like this which could protect the anonymity of traders and therefore list Blackbytes doesnt exist (to the best of my knowledge).

However going forward, I think decentralized exchanges are going become more popular so in time a major decentralized exchange should be able to list Blackbytes and make it easier for people to find it, buy and use.

Thoughts?

Let me know your thoughts. I´ll try and respond as best I can. I´m going to spend the next two years living living in my parents house, not drinking alcohol and probably without any female company so I will have time to reply:)

Thanks

Catia

I think your divorce is not brilliant reason to take your asset with Blackbytes, I believe your post is just to promoted Blackbytes. Never know about this and I don't have any knowledge/ experience about it, but my question is why not replace your money with btc?. I can't tell you nothing but your post looks funny for me. Thank's again.

Where do You guys trade cryptos?

I'd like to start, but GDAX is offline as soon as crypto volume is high.

I need platform with decent technical indicators (mainly fibonacci tool).

I think every exchange has that fitur, maybe you need to look it again one more time or contact their support to find where's the fitur replace it? Most people will say bittrex, hitbtc and livecoin and that's ok, but don't forget etherdelta and mercatox. I only use local exchange to trade my asset but I didn't use technical indicators ( fibo, macd, ma, etc ) just use number. Just take one and try it. Hope you'll find it and get profit.
3587  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you think its now the time to sell bitcoin? on: December 04, 2017, 11:47:40 AM
Bitcoin is dropping its value in 24 hours. Do we need to sell it now? or it will go rise again?

I think you know better than us, that's your strategy your money, it's your decision. Most people ( I believe ) will sell because the price is high but for people who like challenge they will " hold " it. I suggest to sell it because this is end of year and you can analyze your strategy for next year ( safety ). Enjoy your profit and have fun. It's good for us and have a nice day.

3589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins you think that it can be bigger in future? on: December 04, 2017, 10:39:05 AM
Hello Everyone,

There are many coins/Tokens are coming in everyday. But maximum coins are scam or bullshit except few good. So, what do you think about those few good coins/tokens? and what is their name? Please share with us.

Thank You

Every coin has the same chance to become bigger or even scam. Besides that, we don't have control about real market, so nothing too worry about that. I only suggest trade/ invest with btc and second coins ( eth, xmr & monero ) not suggested with others. Until now, only btc and second coins has significant price action move, volume and news. Why we should take risk with other coins/ new coins? hope you're understand that and have a nice day.

3591  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: want to diversity; what coin to buy? on: December 04, 2017, 09:28:48 AM
Hello folks.

I already own BTC and ETH. Looking to add a 3rd altcoin. Don't care about feasability as a currency; this is a speculative investment.

My candidates are litecoin, monero and iota. Which would you recommend?

I choose etc and ripple as alternative candidate, but you should research before replace your fund. For me, etc and ripple has stable price action and volume and that's a good indicator for investment but not trade. If we see from their history, I think is better than another. Etc and monero survive and has little negative news, so nothing too worry about it. Have a nice day.
3592  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Start with Bitcoin or Ethereum on: December 04, 2017, 07:11:29 AM
I want to start  trading , should  i buy Bitcoin or Etheureum first ?

I suggest you to buy bitcoin not ethereum. For start trading bitcoin is the right step you have, because btc is mother coins and if you're understand how it works it will be easy to make profit next time. Ethereum only follow btc and become alternative, just try trade with btc not ethereum. Until now btc has significant price action and high volume, it will be profitable for you. Have a nice day.
3593  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Day Trade on: December 03, 2017, 05:53:18 PM
Bitcoin pricing are going trough a rollercoaster right now. Are you taking advantage of these ups and downs day trading?

I'm not day trader because I have bad experience and that's enough. Loss almost 40% from my money and make me really " panic ". I choose to use long time period ( week - month ), it's more safe and make me have plenty of time to rest. But if you're a brave trader I think you should take part because a lot opportunity to make money in this situation. Day trader is not my skill, so have a nice day to you.

3595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decided to invest more into crypto on: December 03, 2017, 04:03:21 PM
Hello, so I've been reading a lot and finally decided to invest a larger sum of money into altcoins. I've chosen 4 coins: Viacoin, Ubiq, Pinkcoin and Radium. Will invest equal amounts into them and hold for atleast couple of years. Did I do my research good or I shouldn't be touching these coins?

Agree with others, your step is too risky. For invest, btc and eth is the best and you should do that. Besides that, couple years is long time and what would you do to wait and how about if your analyze is wrong? I don't know how your research but I only can say btc and eth is the right option you have. Hope you're understand and have a nice day.
3596  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how much % should I invest in bitcoin trading? on: December 03, 2017, 03:12:59 PM
Assuming I can gather 500$ a week from here and there, how much exactly should I invest.
I'm not that greedy and there is no time constraint.

Invest/ trade with only 20% from your fund to start the journey. I don't agree with 50% - 100%, is too much and we can get " panic " if something wrong happen. Invest/ trade is not the easy way to make income, we will try everyday to get the best result and sometimes loss become our friend. Be wise with your money and have a nice day.
3597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEST ALTCOIN TO INVEST IN on: December 03, 2017, 02:20:57 PM
ETH IS LOOKING HOT AT 400-430 LEVELS. MY ULTIMATE TARGET IS 1000+ IN NEXT 2-3 MONTHS

NEO IS ALSO LOOKING GOOD AT 30-32 LEVELS. MY ULTIMATE TARGET IS 55-75 IN NEXT 2-3 MONTHS.

Agree with eth but not neo, to risky replace money with that. Eth has good history about price action, volume and news, even sometime only loss we get. I trust eth just like btc, will survive and give me income. This is end of year and everything could happen and we need to prepare. I suggest to cancel neo and buy btc/ eth as the main investment. Have a nice day.

For all the people who started trading with dreams to become rich.
How has your journey been so far.
Was there a net profit or loss till now.
Do mention from when you started trading and what amount in total did you loose or gain.
Also some mistakes that you would never repeat?

My trade has bad record and lost almost 40% from my money, that's why I try new way. Still trade but using investment mindset, meaning use long period ( day - week - month ),  buy the main coins ( btc & eth ) and leave others. Until now, success return my real fund from my mistakes and also has income. My mistake from trade only one and we call it " greedy ". It was nightmare & I'll never do that again. Have a nice trade.

The recent bitcoin price volatility is particularly large, but the price of eth has been very stable, you choose to buy eth or bitcoin?
 Tongue Tongue Tongue

I choose to trade eth but hold btc, meaning buy eth convert into btc and take profit as currency. Eth is stable ( agree with you ) that's why invest is a good option. But after convert into btc, I'll trade it with long time period. Until now, my trick still give me income and no need more time front of pc. I'll do it until the end of crypto world and good luck with you.

I am considering taking a loan to buy btc and eth, is it a good idea? Because btc and eth always go up in long term. They never die. There seems to be a great chance of getting huge profit instead of losing money. A few years ago somebody in this forum asked others the same question and everyone told him not to do that, look at the price now. If that guy did, he would have been rich now. Nowadays the situation is not different, the price will continue to go up. I think people who invest more will earn more profit eventually. What do you think?

That's a bad idea and will become your nightmare. Your faith about btc and eth is good but you take the wrong step to start it. There's risk you and we all know about replace money on the crypto world. First, how about the price is stuck at low and has no volume. Second, btc and eth always go up but they need time and no one knows when it happen?. You should think again and I hope you take another way. Good luck to you.
