361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining ---- on: September 09, 2015, 06:31:21 AM
These are the ones that I've been mining:

Vertcoin (VTC)
digitalcoin (DGC)
Feathercoin (FTC)
Cool  Agree.

The best scrypt mining hardware company in my understanding is ZEUS! Even though the miners are very expensive, they are the real thing.

https://zeusminer.com/
This is definitely wrong, Zeus hasn't released a miner since the X6 and their volcano has been posted as preorder for a long time. Zeus isn't even worth looking at currently.
Oh my god.... Zeus really?  They stopped building miners and went to cloudhashing when Gaw was starting their Hashlets.  Soon after they stopped cloudhashing for litecoin... deemed it not profitable.  They teamed up with Rockminer and thats the last we heard from them.  They are too lazy to remove the Volcano info and update their website.  This was all 1 year ago from now.

Ok. Thanks. Wink

I know GekkoScience is busy filling orders and working out details of your new rig but I think
a new "Lottery Device" say 250gh/s using the BM1384 chip would be be cool.  I have been running my
last S2 on a solo pool but I have to come to grips on turning it off soon after the holiday.  I will be ordering
some usb sticks shortly to fill my hobby needs but wish it were in the plans as a side project.
365  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Brainstorming Mining room cooling - Need advice on: September 06, 2015, 02:22:24 PM
I'm sure most of us have dreamed of hiding these at our work but be cautious in doing so.  A/C directly will contain moisture as I'm sure the nights will where you live which may damage your miners.  So this is outside?  How are you connecting to the internet?
366  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Brainstorming Mining room cooling - Need advice on: September 04, 2015, 04:15:13 PM
113f for your ambient....sheesh.  Is this in a garage?  The room/garage itself needs to be vented or box fan near your intake.  Otherwise cooling should be sufficient as long as the dead space behind the S7 fans is at least 1 1/2 ft.  Those fans need some space to output hot air.

Full disclosure: I used to design and build open-air cases for most of the custom mining boards, and I miss it terribly.   Cry

Yes, miss your work.  Gone are the day of open air cases, there's just too much heat generated by asic chips.  But keep thinking of
converting your talents to new products.

Firmware and dozens of different manufacturers plague this router field.  Who has ever bought that couple hundred dollar router only to find it connects slower than your previous one?  It's definately not an easy field to be in and not as easy as Bitmain thinks.  They better get their support staff ready.  Too many variables plague the wireless standard.
369  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: September 02, 2015, 02:59:58 AM
That's becoming the popular stance all around.  Too bad block erupters aren't profitable anymore.  I wish we could get back those days where anyone could jump in and the sooner you did the better off you were before the spike.  That time was amazing.  We eventually will hit that rush of buying in and sky rocketing prices but now it will take huge investments to make that spike again.  The huge farms have their place in the advancement of Bitcoin but I wish it would have waited a couple years and allowed the home miner more time with asic chip miners.
I'm waiting for the eventual down-turn that will destroy these farms and only the home miner will be able to suffer through before another jump.
The S7 is amazing staying at the 28nm process but overpriced and that will hurt individual sales but will be great second hand gear.
370  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntMiner APW3-12-1600 PSU Series on: September 01, 2015, 06:23:03 PM
I have one hooked to my S4 and the high whine can be heard above the S4 fans.  I believe the back 2 fans on the S4 are the same used on the S5.  So yes it can be heard.
371  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] LEPA 1600W PSU, or any quality 1300W+ PSU on: September 01, 2015, 02:14:07 AM
I have a Lepa 1600W psu in near new condition complete with box and all cables.  Was holding out for powering more miners but haven't used this for 4 months.

So would taking orders/payments on 8/30 and shipping 9/21-30 (+10) constitute good business.  I know they always come through but really, just come out and say "preorder".
374  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: August 30, 2015, 02:29:56 AM
I wouldn't be too alarmed by the x's.  Reset once.  If that doesn't fix things swap the ribbon cable to another port.  If it still shows x's on that new board # it still can be the psu.  Make sure your power feeds are tight.  And yes this trouble shooting is all safe and listed at Bitmains Zendesk.
375  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: August 30, 2015, 12:03:17 AM
I'll probably be selling my S4s and S4+s soon if anyone is interested. Located in Montreal.

I'll see if the unit i receive can run quiet enough. If so and the price is right, i could be interested, but last time we negotiated a deal you backed out without ever giving me a reply.
One S4 is about as loud as 2 S2's or 4 S3's.  They definately belong in a garage.
376  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should Bitmain make a Q7? on: August 29, 2015, 10:49:13 PM
Some of us would prefer a smaller design but of course I'm sure that is already in the works.  If Sidehack scores some of these chips we could see one by x-mas hopefully.
377  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: August 29, 2015, 10:43:14 PM
I was guessing around $1300 and @6th.  Seems lack of competition allows Bitmain free reign.  But at least they release new product continually albeit the interum one, two punch in the face like the S5+.  Tempting but the the Btc earned daily stays almost constant with each release.  No big leap in progress but the efficiency.  Good job anyway Bitmain on the progress.

having some issues with an antminer s4

so I pretty much figured out that I have a bad IO board by putting in a good working one into this miner from another working miner. I am having trouble locating anything on fixing or replacing this board. Anyone have any insight on this?

Your pics lack the asic status.  Are all asics showing o's, any - or x's.  I do believe there is an updated firmware version you could upload to the S4.

My only troubles I had pointed to the psu which can easily be the cause of everything.  What does the front panel screen show it hashing at?

Please be careful taking advice from Meech as he doesn't have a kill o watt & doesn't run tests on his own machine to give u the right advice u need... Oh & did i mention his S4 was in getting fixed last time we checked in...

Please read the comments on the page or so before this & make up ur own mind as to weather u take his advice or not..
Leave your tasteless comments out of the threads and yes I have a kill-a-watt, 3 exactly and a sound meter.  My S4 is fixed now, thanks to Yoshi.  What have you offered on the forums with your wisdom?

Read through it and saw no reference to bitcoin mining.  Fpga yes, but that was used just before asics.
