Looking at their sales just over 300miners sold now in last 12hours after sales opened again, US is only waking up. Least that many agree with you. As so do I.
how can you know that ?? 300 miners ?
 Huh

Bitmain webshop-BTC wallet balance went up for +300BTC today also all incoming transactions can be split with 0.893 -coupon or no coupons.
Not impossible to count, I think i saw one purhace over 25 miners.

When I posted here the balance was 19600 I remeber it being bit under. Sales were open again today.

Bitmain is only solid supplier of 2014.

I just dont get. Who pays 0.893 BTC for an Antminer S1?
Will you ever make it back?

You don't think of it as  paying  0.893 you pay $400US which you convert to BTC just for the purchase  and the chances of making back $400 are pretty good, especially when you factor in the resale value.

Looking at their sales just over 300miners sold now in last 12hours after sales opened again, US is only waking up. Least that many agree with you. As so do I.
Resale value is over 400$ still. While Bitmain sales were halted for few days, everywhere you saw posts "where can I buy one" and current resale price was going over 500$

365  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: April 08, 2014, 08:14:32 AM
well what you posted showed no bad chips

and what you have is based on the avalon1 design using the avalon2 chips
the later avalon2 that firmware will not work as they need the the chip freq and Chip voltage to be set
and there is a bug in the avalon2 drive for cgminer that still needs to be fixed to work

Ok Thank you for that info. I only have these BTMine units with Avalon2 chips. Very common ones in Bitcointalk.
My very first hashunit in that log is only hashing 50% of speed. it has 5 out of 10 chips dead, cold.

Let the orders begin. Had to score few.  Undecided they are like drug
367  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: April 08, 2014, 12:48:54 AM
EVERYONE PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE FIRMWARE THAT CON KOVALIS IS PUTTING OUT IS FOR THE AVALON1 HARDWARE IT WILL NOT WORK FOR THE AVALON2 HARDWARE OR THE AVALON2 CHINESE CLONES

Wut? Why

I disagree with the Avalon2 clones. Running TP-LINK TL-WR703N v1

Seems to work fine. I bought this unit secondhand busted and it has always had 5 dead chips. Apart that its rock solid performer.

I am aware it has high temps 61c... I removed noisy fans and put silent ones there, it only has to last for couple of months more before its jus expensive heater. It gets very hot but works 24h/7days no issues under that temp ~209GH/s

Oh and one more question:

so board 5 is dead. could somebody point out in a photo which board i need to replace?

I have watercooling kit on one unit. Its nice but noth worth it.

You will find broken blade by touching the chips with finger, when it wont hurt its the broken unit.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 07, 2014, 04:04:31 PM
well, if organofcorti info is correct, then KnC is getting 0.13X3600=468BTC/day or $212K, but who is counting?  Wink
<snip>

The network has been solving ~1200 blocks per week for a while now. That puts the block rate at ~ 171 blocks per day, and btc per day at ~ 4285.

For KNC: 0.13 * 1200/7 * 25 = 557.1429 which (at current exchange rates) ~ US$255728.6 per day.

Those numbers look crazy. 40mil $ /month mining operation.
That makes the Bitmain antminers sales wallet with 19600 BTC look...tiny  Undecided
https://blockchain.info/address/1QB8Ds5KbGYBLQa5RyDQ2sVUeSKWf7qgkZ

KNC had great scheam to make some real business with Jupiter here. Instead of cashing out existing hardwares why not fund the hardware with preorders. Build the datorhall to old helicopter hangar. Make big enough mining operation to pay out any shipment delays to pre-order customers while continue developing new hardware to keep the datorhall populated with state of the art asics for upcoming months and maybe years.

huh.

They made this much with declining BTC prices. What if price had gone up.. huh. What a gamble to become BTC millionares.

$255K a day makes for ~$7.77 mil/average mo (30.5 days). Still, a nice 100 mil a year.

Yes i picked up that they make 4285 btc per day when calculating. Ofc it was 13% of that.
My mistake on numbers

Like a nervous expectant father....

I think I've got everything prepped:

-bench cleared and ready for surgery reseating the inevitably unseated cards.  cordless screwdriver battery charging.
-2nd router daisy-chained to primary router to create 192.168.1.x subnet
-AntMiner S2 manual pdf downloaded and open
-exterior security cameras watching for UPS truck
-credit card on hand to pay import duty
-wearing out command-r refreshing this thread

have i missed anything?

Haha few beers coz it will be easy plug and play.

+1 for best photo

Pecaili, do you know why the top fan (of the new chasis) is bigger than than the bottom one?

Can you ask the engineer why do we need a strong fan for the top?

I plan to replace the fans so i want to be safe.

Top fan provides 2x airflow compared to others. If you replace it with lesser fan the unit will overheat.
378  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.893 BTC for 180GH/s on: April 03, 2014, 09:01:16 PM
any confermation from bitmain on if s1 will come back, and how pricing waill be in the future?

I have a feeling their chip supply/manufacturing capacity is being converted to S2, my guess is that at this BTC price the shipping cost is starting to eat to much into their S1 profits to be worth it.

Most people think the S1 and the S2 use the same chips.  My bet is the boards are almost the same as well, just undervolted.

I agree. Price means everything. Ship more, do it cheaper. Printing those proven 55nm chips is very cheap now. Generally mining board like that wont cost too much when your doing 500 000 or more. If chip is your own. Bitmain must aim shipping S2 miners huge amounts.
