Oh wow.. Did we just pass 2 GH/s ?

Any worries on the huge amount of double spend attempts?

Not really,

As far as I can see there's no attempt being made to 'rewrite' the chain.

Last 240 blocks:

1: GNDA5MZWcm4AjLtNuEmYpgH8qsxo4vrnY8: 142000.522000 (59.17%)
2: GNh1gofrspXQphYuYewW6GDseQ1fss1GRx: 40000.071100 (16.67%)
3: GTEU63hXhDtGDWyYikoyrTWHM2sUNBL8xV: 30000.028000 (12.50%)
4: GMnaaMMV66NHmsEVVfik2tGinMQ8nVG1DA: 20790.244530 (8.66%)
5: GPVJ3qfR7K5XRjJBLbGv9zXYjCfECS5uCN: 6000.005000 (2.50%)

Hardcoreminers' hashrate according to their own website:  1,379.320 MH/s
This matches with the mined blocks coinbase addresses.

I guess people are trying to double spend, but that will only work if an accepting party takes a single confirm as granted tx. Single confirms (blocks) that are later abandoned can always occur. These 'short-term' splits happen all the time, even in bitcoin network.

The number of attempts is probably rising because for a short while, more blocks per hour are found (and thus the chance of a short chainsplit is higher). KGW will kick in pretty fast though and those short splits will never reach a hight higher then 6.

So.. No.. I'm not really worried right now. But watching closely, as always.

I will throw a couple btc towards this coin on monday.

Before I do, how safe is bittrex to trade on, have they had any incidents/hacks/scams allegations before?

I've not heard bad things about bittrex.. Afaik they didn't have any problems with BTC-NLG trading so far..
But remember: an exchange is not a wallet. Get your coins out of there once the trades have been made.

I've had some requests on how I created that 'nice' address for my tip jar..
Youknow? The address that starts with a few characters of my name: 'GeertJoL3tLhmumtKBP14M5iUt6JPUnE92'.

It's the same method that was used with the Gcup addresses, or the well known satoshi dice addresses.

I've written a tutorial on how to do it here: https://docs.guldencoin.com/vanitygen/

Hi All!

  • iOS funding is going well, over 70% of the packages have been sold.  Grin
  • In just under 31 hours, block 100.000 will be mined.  Grin
  • Today (14th) is my birthday!  Grin

I guess those three reasons are good enough to release new stuff!

WaterLooDown has maintained an awesome list of events. I thought it would be good to visualize the timeline of these events..
Anyone paying close attention to our github might've seen the work-in-progress sources already, but now it's live!

I present to you:

Let us know your thoughts!
Contributions (events, features) through github are welcome.

Please look into block explorer, cant connect.

I've already DM'd the owner on twitter, but he/she didn't respond yet.

We only have the one explorer?

No. There's also http://dutchpool.org:2752/ but that seems to be down too.

Coincidence?

Yes, the main website (port 80) at dutchpool.org also seems to be down. Looks like their entire server has a hickup, not just the explorer.
Sadly a coincidence yes. I know some other people are working on an explorer too, but thats not live yet.

This is live, but doesn't have all features abe (mycryptoco.in) provides (yet): http://guldencointrader.nl/

Is there a way that you could implement a method to pay with PayPal? That might be a nice way for us, community, to change some funds on PayPal for GuldenCoin Smiley.

We won't add paypal, sorry.
It looks like the funding is almost done and implementation of paypal will take time and resources. Paypal transactions can be undone by the customer (this is being used for fraud). And paypal blocks/freezes account of open-source and transparency innitiatives.

But I guess there are ways to convert paypal funds into euro's or bitcoins.

Hello,

I have a question: on the old website, we could see how many Dutsch citizen had claimed their Guldencoin, is this still the case on the new one ? I can't find it anymore.

Good question!
Right now 1259 valid claims have been placed. All of those are fulfilled (1.259.000 NLG has been sent).

I hope to find some time soon to upgrade our distribution system with a public page displaying the numbers (and maybe even a nice chart).

A zero too many I suppose? Wink

Whoops! Yes that should be 125.900 NLG ofcourse!

I think it's important to understand that the goal is not to sell the developer premine. The goal is to gather funds so we can pay this iOS developer to create an awesome iOS wallet.  I for one would be most happy if we as a community could raise this money without having to sell any coins from the dev premine at all. The goal is an iOS wallet. If you want to buy coins: they're cheaper at bittrex.

Having said that, I do agree with this method to get funds in exchange for NLG as it might be more effective and fast. It's just that I would just be more happy if we could all donate (crowd funding) so we keep more dev premine coins in stash and use them  at a later stage.

If you wish to donate BTC or EUR, please contact us per mail or post here on the forum.

So.. 1.650 GH/s and a diff of 54... Lets take a look at where them coins are going.
First let me say again that looking at coinbase addresses is not a 100% safe method to identify miners.
Having said that, these numbers do match somewhat to the one's displayed by hardcoreminers.

GND is the hardcoreminers address.
GdD is a mystery miner.

Last 576 blocks (24 hours):
1: GNDA5MZWcm4AjLtNuEmYpgH8qsxo4vrnY8: 348001.380000 (60.42%)
2: GdDkjtEeKm1r26zhXj6TpHqu3FGDbpHaRg: 81000.046000 (14.06%)
3: GNh1gofrspXQphYuYewW6GDseQ1fss1GRx: 76000.031000 (13.19%)
4: GMnaaMMV66NHmsEVVfik2tGinMQ8nVG1DA: 31680.109890 (5.50%)
5: GTEU63hXhDtGDWyYikoyrTWHM2sUNBL8xV: 30000.024000 (5.21%)

Last 120 blocks (5 hours):
1: GNDA5MZWcm4AjLtNuEmYpgH8qsxo4vrnY8: 56000.043000 (46.67%)
2: GdDkjtEeKm1r26zhXj6TpHqu3FGDbpHaRg: 56000.040000 (46.67%)

5: GaVgch4gm1ASjH2kabi6Mizzr7dsEWkFnJ: 60.000010 (0.05%)

Last 24 blocks (1 hour):
1: GdDkjtEeKm1r26zhXj6TpHqu3FGDbpHaRg: 13000.012000 (54.17%)
2: GNDA5MZWcm4AjLtNuEmYpgH8qsxo4vrnY8: 10000.001000 (41.67%)
3: GMnaaMMV66NHmsEVVfik2tGinMQ8nVG1DA: 990.000000 (4.12%)
4: GaVgch4gm1ASjH2kabi6Mizzr7dsEWkFnJ: 10.000000 (0.04%)

This is interesting. It looks like GdD made a comeback in the last few hours. Thereby pushing the network hashrate to a stunning 1.6 GH/s

2: GdDkjtEeKm1r26zhXj6TpHqu3FGDbpHaRg: 1101024.108200 (27.31%)

5: GMnaaMMV66NHmsEVVfik2tGinMQ8nVG1DA: 156420.762399 (3.88%)

Conclusion:
I doubt GND is aiming to attack the coin, this miner has been in the network for a long time and if he/she wanted to perform a 51% attack he/she could have already done so already.
GND is probably dumping coins on the market now and then, but that could be explained because those MH/s don't pay for themselves (ah well, indirectly they do)..
Having said that, it would indeed be better for the network to have a evenly divided hashrate. This will take time, as more miners join the network.

For now I don't see a lot of things we can do. KGW is doing it's work nicely, taking the MH/s waves as they come and go.

378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NLG] Guldencoin — Meet our awesome community! on: July 07, 2014, 11:34:00 PM
yeah I'm running that...
Thing is I can't reproduce the problem! Sad
Whithout being able to reproduce I'm kinda blind and cannot see where this comes from.
It indeed looks like some styling problem...

I have exactly the same chrome version but running on linux. I can't think of a reason why css rules would apply different between OS platforms..
@ny2cafuse: can you see what's causing this?

OK... it's an issue with the guldencoin font-family declaration.  Removing "guldensign" from the body and H1-6 font-family tags clears up the errors.  I just need to tinker a bit more to see what the resolution is.

If you beat me to it, just let me know.

-Fuse

I think I fixed it.
I had to setup a dualboot with windows to reproduce the problem and found it pretty quick.. Apparently rendering fonts is still different between windows and linux/osx. It's a pretty technical problem, I'll spare you the details.
Bottomline: the font's exported from fontforge had some mistakes that -for windows- messed up rendering even though the font shouldn't be used for characters other than Ġ.. Fontsquirrel's webfont generator fixed that. (great tool: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/tools/webfont-generator)
It also added .eot fontfile (legacy windows IE support!).

I've learned that I shouldn't have released this font right away as 1.0 'release' stuff and I should have done some more research about cross-platform font rendering. Sorry for that.
I assume it's fixed for everyone now (after reload). Please let me know if there are still problems.

[..]

I can confirm that this happens to me as well on Chrome.  No form of refresh helps.

-Fuse

Very anoying that I can't reproduce this.
What OS and Chrome version are you using?

Can you please try this:
- ctrl+shift+i
- click on "Network"
- right-click in the list of network activities (can be empty, that doesn't matter)
- click on "Clear browser cache" (not cookies)
- refresh the page

If this still doesn't work, please let me know what OS and Chrome version are you using?

There was a short problem with the top bar that caused something like this. But it was fixed a while ago (could mabye survive in cache though..).
I don't understand how the guldensign being added to the docs could mess it up like this..  Shocked
