This is confirmed for Sunday, May 24th, 2015. We have the venue from 4pm - 7pm, and we will start promptly at 5pm.

A venue has been kindly provided for us by Thoughtworks at Werkstatt Berlin -

10405 Berlin
Germany

Afterwards we will move to the Metzer Eck (an old-school Berliner pub) for fresh beer and good conversation.

Now the sonnet has fourteen lines
and is more difficult as you can see
with five beats the norm of time
it certainly is no Summer breeze
it may contain a single question
or destroy the long cannon of facts
but it has only one real mission
to sound the writer's mind and thus enact
the simple play between man and words
that has gone-on as long as history
and marks the true commons of our hearts
where man may sit awhile--if you please
I will go and write one now as we speak
let's hope it's good, better than this, at least

I must admit this thread has turned
   to something quite delightful,
You see, my friends, a poet's words
   are often quite insightful,
With careful prose and endless wit
   his thoughts caress the page,
(Or screen, I guess, for after all
we're not in the Dark Age)

And so it is with joy I've read
   the words of generalizethis,
(It must be said: I'm really glad
   he has no gingivitis,
As foulest breath is oft reserved
   for dragon, orc, or troll,
And this good man, (or girl,
or guy), is not on their bankroll)

But I digress - now let me try
   to write without distraction,
(Or else you may suspect me of
   AnonyMint-attraction),
The point, you see, is plain and clear:
   Monero fans have smarts!
(I mean that in the mental sense,
   not fashionable-arts)

And now, before complaints come from
   stslimited,
Or primer / Alit, "CEO",
   (they are so spirited!)
I must return to working mode
   lest bugs remain unseen,
And so I bid you all adieu,
   to focus on my screen!

But to my main gripe with Fluffypony’s  permutation of the words from Cylon Raider -> Knight Rider is his use of a simple linear permutation.  And I know he had a goal in mind but there is a certain inexactness when you do not include every possible permutation.  Which in this case would be expressed exponentially as n × n × ... (r times) = nr

Hardware wallets are a growing trend right now.

h/w with LEDs are a glowing trend, made in China.

Who owns the address monero.org, someone is developing it

We're not sure - at this stage it appears that they are linking to the binaries on getmonero.org, but as it is somebody who is unknown it should be treated with caution. The fact that they link to MinerGate (a pool most likely operated by the BCN scammers) is also quite concerning.

Community sites are always welcome, but this is not obviously a community site. To anyone coming across it they would think it is the official site, which makes it especially dangerous. Perhaps they are trying to build up some SEO, after which they can just change links to whatever they want.

It looks like they are setting up a shop too.

Their About page is the best: "Monero.org is one of the earliest websites about Monero cryptocurrency. It was created by a group of enthusiasts in order to spread all needed information about Monero"

Except nobody knows the "group of enthusiasts" here or on IRC or on the Monero Forum...

fluffypony

there is a problem with the conversion of db in windows

error
C:/msys64/home/Reggi/bitmonero/external/db_drivers/liblmdb64/mdb.c:5312: Ass ertion 'root > 1' failed in mdb_page_search()

and i found this

http://www.openldap.org/its/index.cgi/?findid=7956

Code:
If you compact an empty environment, the copy in meta page 1 is written with the
main DB's root page set to 1, (i.e., pointing to itself) which is invalid.
Attempting to write to the copy triggers an assert.

Workaround - don't try to compact an empty environment... Fix coming shortly.

Thanks - we'll take a look at this, Windows is being a little bit irritating for a number of reasons;)

Yeah, so
TL;DR

1 minute blox is gude

I'm reasonably sure I discussed this in the LTB podcast, but basically TFT's decision for a 1 minute block time was nonsensical. We don't know why he chose it, but it definitely wasn't based on any form of logic. Personally, if I had to do it over I'd probably go for a 3 minute block time or so.

We're also not closed to changing Monero's block time to 2 minutes, for eg., and doubling block rewards to match. However, it's low priority at the moment, and will require more research before we put a peg in the sand on that. Possibly the outcome of that research is "the current affect is not drastic, and technology is changing so rapidly that we don't see a need to change it", but we can only know once we get to it:)

How?
I have old wallet created last year without a seed. I can't import my funds in current wallet. Maybe I need new one with simpler interface.

./simplewallet --wallet-file wallet.bin

simplewallet still supports non-deterministic wallets, and they will always be supported.

print_tx is for mempool transactions; once it's out the pool (by timeout or by being mined and included in a block) you can't use print_tx any longer.

I am for anonymous digital cash for the reason that it allows ordinary people the same privileges and advantages as the elites and Billionaires.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Please explain what privileges elites and Billionaires have that anonymous electronic cash can give to ordinary people.

I bet he's thinking "tax evasion" :-P
My neighbor's gardener was paid in cash. I don't think he paid taxes and he was not an elite or Billionaire.

Same here - the "vast amount of unbanked individuals in South Africa" that everyone thinks they're going to reach with their iPhone digital wallet app actually want to stay unbanked, because cash-in-cash-out works for them, and they don't have to worry about taxes (the cost of enforcement being significantly higher than the small amount they would pay in tax).
