For a change Sri Lanka won the match and they need some of the Indian players to be isolated from the team due to the COVID situation and hopefully the odds will be changed in the next match  . India batted really bad and it is crazy to see that the match went till the last over and Sri Lanka struggling in the end and if not for Chetan Sakariya, which i am hearing his name for the first time they would have won the match. India went with an extremely inexperienced playing XI and it would have been humiliating for the Sri Lanka to lose against such a side. They won the match, but it was very close. 20 runs were needed from the last 2 overs and if Indians had bowled tightly, then it would have got very difficult for the Lankans. The captaincy was also not up to the mark. I know that there is almost zero chance that Virat Kohli would be replaced as the captain of the Indian team anytime soon (in any of the formats). But in the unlikely scenario of that happening, Shikhar Dhawan doesn't seems to be a good replacement. This would be a good lesson for BCCI and those players who think they are above everything. India will lose this series and who will be blamed for this situation, Mr Pandya! What an epic debacle. There has been a constant debate about Prithvi shaw, some say he is suited for the shorter format and some say he is for the longer. I have seen him suited for only domestic cricket. He is a big disappointment in my opinion for all formats of International cricket. To date, I have not seen him batting the way he did in domestic cricket excluding IPL. I might be wrong but just compare him with other newcomers and you will know the difference.
No one will debate about the skill level of Prithvi Shaw, even though he did not play a long innings the shots he played were world class and outstanding and his skill level as a batsman is visible with each of the strokes as he is not powering those shots but his timing is out of the world but he lacks concentrating and he lost his wickets to spinners, he might need to fine tune that and he will be a force to reckon in world cricket if he can be consistent with his performance. Who cares now what kind of shot a batsman plays? Those days are gone! If you can hit the ball, score runs and stay till the end matters. I am not saying that Prithvi Shaw is a bad batsman, what I am trying to imply is that his temperament is bad. He thinks himself to be the best batsman in the world without anything to prove his mindset. Just look at the way he enters the stadium as if he is the god of cricket. Nope. Your information is wrong. After Krunal tested positive, 8 of his close contacts were isolated and tested for COVID. And today all of them have returned negative results. But the problem for India is that these individuals need to remain in isolation for at least 3-4 days, until it is confirmed that they are not infected with the virus, and therefore won't be able to take part in the remaining T20I matches. It is a big mystery how Krunal got infected with the disease. The Indian team was allotted an entire hotel for themselves and even the hotel staff are part of the bubble. No outside contact is allowed. After Krunal returned positive test, all the staff members were tested and none of them returned a positive result. At this point the Sri Lankan management is also clueless on how he got infected. Its seems clear that there was no strict bio bubble set up for the players, otherwise there is no other explanation. If 8 players going in isolation for 3-4 days with Krunal, does that means this series is cancel? T20 matches are normally included along with the ODI tours. However, in test cricket they play fewer matches because they are not a part of the first division. On top of that, their players such as Blessing Muzarabani have taken part in county cricket recently. Brendan Taylor has represented a number of franchises, apart from representing Nottinghamshire in county cricket. My comparison was with Bangladesh. The number of games Bangladesh plays with A list teams if we compare it with the number of games Zimbabwe plays then Bangladesh will have the upper hand. I always felt that the Zimbabwe team lacks experience, they have good players who lack a lot of international exposure. If they are allowed to play more matches with A teams, they will gain more experience and improve their overall performance. Since countries like Zimbabwe do not generate a lot of revenue for ICC therefore they are left behind. Well upsets do happen and they are more often in the T20 matches. If does not matter if a weaker team win a match in a competition / series. A weaker team can show good performance on a given day and it could be a bad day for the stronger team like Bangladesh. The problem only arises if the weaker teams wins the series which is unlikely to happen here. Today is the last match of this T20 series and the decider, Zimbabwe has scored 193/5 in 20 overs. Prithvi is not suited for the longer format of the game, IMO. Also, his style of play is not suitable in England (it was more suited to conditions in Sri Lanka). So it surprises me that he is packed off to England, when the T20 series against Sri Lanka is just about to start. Abhimanyu Easwaran and Wriddhiman Saha were included in the squad as reserve batsmen and now they have also rejoined the squad after completing the quarantine requirements. Just looking at the India and England team, how far ahead they are going as compare to other teams. Recently England also played and won again Pakistan with their Tier 2 team. They, India and England both have developed 2 teams each which can beat any international team. Aussies are losing the winning streak and the rest of the teams are worthless who only perform once in a while.
I think you are under estimating the West Indies team here. They have won the T20 series against Australia and also level the ODI series 1-1. Its never easy to beat Australian team and this shows that West Indies are again emerging as one of the best teams. I mean the West Indies team is not emerging as a strong team, the Australia team has lost their old reputation. The Australian players are not in good form now. The Australian team has been unstable for a long time. Earlier, they also lost the series against New Zealand and India. Their time is going bad. You cannot underestimate the WestIndian side, there are players in that team who have consistently performed in T20 matches. They have a lot of experience in hand too. I would not comment on which teams will dominate the upcoming T20 WorldCup but I am certain West Indies team will be one of them. |

And after that, Wellington Masakadza picked up two wickets in his first over (including the crucial wicket of Shakib al Hasan) and for Bangladesh it was all over at this point.
