First website:

Have i been pwned?
Are you safe if you enter your email address and check on that site?

I guess you will be not. It is a trap. Instead showing your email address publicly, on the forum and anywhere else, you enter it and check on that site. Are you sure that they won't keep your email address on their database and will see it to other companies?

Please make sure that:
  • Don't publicly show your email address.
  • For important accounts, allocate specific emails for those accounts and don't use them for other purposes on other platforms.
  • Don't self-breach your email address by arbitrarily enter your email addresses and check on any site (like what you supposed)

Well! If you are talking about net safety of these websites then you can check their terms and conditions and their privacy policy. I am confident that they are not the ones who compromise your email address as their business model is based on finding who breached?

Plus why will they jeopardize their reputation?
4683  Other / Off-topic / How to check whether your email address has been compromised? on: September 09, 2020, 05:29:04 AM
Recently I started receiving a lot of spam and scam emails into one of my email address which I generally use for my freelance work.

I wanted to know why there was a sudden bombing of such emails into my address wherein I only use it to login to specify website for my work and receive emails from my clients.

I knew something was not correct and I was determined to find out what was wrong? So, I took the help of Google and did some search using specific keywords and found two websites.

If you are also facing the same problem like me then you can use these two websites to find out whether your email address has been compromised

First website:

Have i been pwned?

I entered my email address and found out that data breach occurred from these platforms.

To make sure that the information provided by the first website was correct. I did a double-check by visiting the second website.

Second website:

What is my IP address?

When I entered my email address and checked for breach I found out a similar result.

Although these websites can help you to determine to a certain extent what may have gone wrong with your email address there no conclusive evidence that the spam mails that you are receiving are because of the breach.

It is advised not to open and report mails as spams if you are not aware about the senders.

What to do if your email is compromised?

If your are using a mail service provider like gmail you can increase the spam filteration by clicking on the gearicon>>settings>>Filter and Block Address.

Change your password.

Or

Create a new email address.

P.S - This topic is for educational purpose and I am not promoting these platforms.

4685  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware Defi airdrop message shared on telegram on: September 08, 2020, 10:32:15 AM
It is better to avoid Telegram channels related to cryptocurrency.

If you are in one of them then there is a high chance your ID automatically getting addded to span channels related to airdrop or signals.

Also occasionally you would recieve chat request from scammers asking for help to transfer Bitcoin from exchanges.

Be very vigilant and cautious if you are part of telegram channels that are for cryptocurrency.
4686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Dade to open Casinos and Restaurants for the third time. on: September 08, 2020, 06:18:17 AM
The longer that the economy is closed the soonest the government will go bankrupt, the only way they can battle losing the economy is to set up restrictions and health protocol that everyone will follow, that way they can save the economy and there will be lower infections, people will not suffer from the virus but they will likely suffer from starvation.

Agreed. Various seroepidemiological studies have shown that a large portion of the world population already possess antibodies against COVID 19. And example is here:

https://www.thehindu.com/news/cities/Delhi/percentage-of-people-with-antibodies-high/article32156162.ece
https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(20)31483-5/fulltext

This means that the risk from COVID 19 is going down with time, as those with antibodies may not get infected again. In cities such as Delhi and Mumbai, upto 50% of the population was found to have antibodies. So I don't think that it is justified to close the economy anymore.

I beg to differ the number of cases globally is on the rise and especially in those countries where there is no restriction. I do understand that people need to work otherwise they will dies because of starvation but you also cannot expect people to sincerely follow the protocols.

Untill strict measures are in place in both situation (Lockdown or non lockdown) people will suffer and die.
4687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: September 08, 2020, 06:13:45 AM
Why is Raina targeted like this, i thought he was just a cricket player, are these political attacks or regional discrimination, why would anyone attack someone from Kashmir. Srinivasan is the owner of a team and if he is spending money on a player he has the rights to comment on his investment and during a pandemic phase they will find it hard to find a player to replace them.

Some of the media sources are claiming that the motive was robbery. It is highly suspect, given that the village was located in a high-security zone. Also, even the relatives of the victims were kept in the dark by the cops, who refused to divulge much details about the attack. And talking about Srinivasan, he has the right to criticize the players. But not at a time when they are mourning the death of their loved ones. I would regard that as inhuman behaviour.

Oh!

This is bad news I was not aware of it. Things like these need to be addressed carefully but I assumed Mr Srinivasan might not been in his senses otherwise who will react with such stupidity to such a sensitive issue.

Of couse stupidity does not have a cure.

We have seen how India wants to influence the ICC . And in many cases they are successful . For example ,this time the ICC t20 world cup was not held but the IPL is will be held  . Many people believe that India had a role to play in not holding the world cup this year. They didn't want the world cup to be held  because it would have made the IPL uncertain. For this type of reason we need someone who is qualified for this post and  no one/country can influence him . If he is impartial then it does not matter that where is he from .

There is no doubt that BCCI is causing a lot of damage to the smaller nations, by choking their revenue inflow from the ICC. But why do you think that someone from the smaller nations may be able to do more than what Shashank Manohar has done? Manohar, despite being an Indian national was the mastermind behind the redistribution of the ICC revenues. Without him, the smaller nations would be receiving nothing more than breadcrumbs.

Grin Grin still Manohar is the culprit for some members here.

Quote
Exactly he was pretty different from previous Chairman Shrinivaasan who was a greedy person, but some people always feel that an Indian would always favour his own home country board but Manohar has gone against all the odds for betterment of cricket.
Shrinivaasan was removed from the BCCI and legally he has been dealt with. So, there is no need to drag him here as he will never come into cricket spotlight in the future.

Quote
Dalmiya was successful in keeping politics away from cricket. But that changed after he was replaced as the ICC president. It was disgraceful that people such as Sharad Pawar managed to become the ICC president. He is known as one of the most corrupt politicians in India and has zero association with cricket. His term was a big setback for the sports. Hopefully such people will never manage to get to that post again, since the voting structure has been changed.

He is the reason why Dada and MSD are part of Indian cricket. Do not know a lot about Sharad Pawar but he is known to be the most corrupt politician till date.
4689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 08, 2020, 05:17:47 AM
I saw your earlier post where you told you bet on Australia because the odds for them were more than 2.0. Sometimes it is safe to bet on the lower odds then going for a more higher odds.
However don't lose hope yet, England can still lose this if they lost early wickets.
Australia is no 1 ranked team in T20 ATM; although England is favorite of course. Nevertheless, the match is almost out of Australian's hand. 84 more run needs from 60 balls. I don't think Australia can come back anymore.
In the first T20, I thought Aussies are going to win the match at ease as they needed only 72 runs of 60 balls and went to sleep. But things went downhill for them and England won the match. But I don't think that such a comeback is possible for Aussies in this match  Tongue England is going to win this match and the series.

This did not happen this time and England win this match with ease and with that few people here on bitcointalk lost the bet  Sad

England showed today that they are a much better team and they never let Aussies to take control of the match.

Something is wrong with Australia, this is the second T20 that they have lost with ease and with this match they have lost the series. England is on the crush mode after lockdown they have won all the series this year.

Great game by team England.

It's evident that scammers and government remains the ultimate test to this community of crypto enthusiast and are likely not to go away. It's a well known trick for government try to stop that which it's maxillar can't push to the mouth but the safety of our crypto-ecology remains with us, let's do our best to ensure the serenity of our atmosphere.

It is correct that scammers and government remain one of the main reason why there is negativity in the mind of common people about cryptocurrency.

But without the government support we will not be able to create mass adoption of cryptos and without scammers we will never be able to find out the negative aspect of crypto universe.

I hope the atomic wallet team already knows about this scam.

Google cannot do anything until the community reports such scam adverts to them. I have already reported to them with the details provided by OP.

Request you all to do the same by visiting this link - https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/93713?hl=en and bookmark it for future reports.

Why is the WHO not talking about this medicine? Is there anything that the Russians have not disclosed to them? My understanding is the Russia is also part of WHO and if this vaccine actually works then it should get distributed to everyone and WHO should recommend it.
4693  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ToS, do you read it before using new platforms? on: September 07, 2020, 04:11:34 AM
They are long boring and take a lot of your valuable time. Most of usually drag the slider down and then accept it. When we get banned or get blacklisted then we realise the importance of reading TOS.

In my opinion most of us do know what they are related to for a particular platform that is one of the reason why we skip them. You still can go through them whenever you have time.

Thanks for explaining them in detailed to us.

A new wallet?

If I want to use a wallet why should I use a new one which does not have a community nor has created any trust. I am happy with the wallet that I am already using.

Wallet are not meant to be given a try.

In case if you have forgotten the basic need for using a crypto wallet then let me remind you we use wallets to store cryptocurrency in  which have USD value.
4695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH's fees on "De-Fi" platforms are ridiculously high on: September 07, 2020, 03:51:20 AM
The reason for the fee being so high is because of the increase number of transaction on ETH blockchain. This is mainly because of the hype in DeFi. As soon as the bubble burst (which will happen soon) the fee will go down.

None of us are here to pay fees like banks charge us, people will soon realise the same and they will start moving out, it is just a matter of time.

4698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BSV twitter account banned on: September 05, 2020, 04:03:53 PM
Once an account is banned it will be not easy for it to get reinstated. BSV community cannot do much in this situation, they can simply ignore it or try and create a new ID with the complete name this time.

I would have been busy with my life as usual if cryptocurrency was not there. I would have been doing my day time job in the morning and then drinking at a bar with friends, coming home eating dinner and then the same routine till Friday. Saturday and Sunday time with the family.
