381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH VS BTC on: January 19, 2018, 10:15:46 AM
Will BTC be replaced from ETH in future? Because as of current crypto market, demand for the ETH is higher than BTC due to various kind of ICO projects.
Firstly, you really need to understand that these are totally two different projects and there is a lot that makes them what it is. Sure, Ethereum is a good project, worth holding and have a lot of prospects, but replacing bitcoin, I would not ever see that coming. Bitcoin developers I believe are not slacking and bitcoin will always still have that first movers edge and the fact that it is deflationary compared to ETH, that makes it even better.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: average buy price on: January 19, 2018, 09:16:01 AM
thanks very much guys, much appreciated

I got kicked out of math at school and demoted to arithmetic only so its not my fault lol

cheers
Grin Grin I can imagine how terribly bad you must have been to be kicked out of math class for not at least knowing average calculation which is more of a simple arithmetic. It's not your fault really so we cannot blame you. You made my day with that statement though because I laughed and fell off my chair. Good luck in your arithmetic.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can you do a pump and dump with little money? on: January 18, 2018, 06:54:43 PM
Can you do a pump and dump with little money?in a cryptocurrency

It depends on the market you are trying out. However, you yourself cannot do a pump and dump with little money, but you can participate in one. However, if you are referring to pump and dump groups, then you should not bother, as this would end up making you to lose your funds. Most pump and dump markets are shitcoins anyway, so you can just take the risk, take a look at the previous trend on the charts, and then buy in at the dip and set a sell order for whenever the pump happens. Most of these coins can go as high as 50 - 100%, so you can gradually make profit. However, you can also end up bag holding shitcoins in the process if you end up unlucky.
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING! Sending ERC-20 Tokens right now may be dangerous/ Unsuccessful!!!! on: January 18, 2018, 10:00:48 AM
It was a congestion on the network and the gas you used was a bit low which caused the transaction to fail. You can check back with a higher fee and also cross check on the transaction. You can also make use of this next time to be sure the gas price to use. https://ethgasstation.info
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin loosing its share on: January 18, 2018, 08:12:24 AM
Bitcoin which once shared more than 90% of total crypto volume is now reduced less than 40%...
What do you think at the end of 2018... Will it reduce its share to less than 20%
Well, we had a huge correction, so this should be expected. Bitcoin is going to be gaining some of its dominance back in the market pretty soon and we just need a very good news right now to lighten things up and I am sure LN may be of help with that.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoin Will Be Nr.2 and Nr. 3 After Bitcoin ? on: January 04, 2018, 05:08:56 PM
Due to BTC high price, we can see some altcoins can replace Bitcoin due to fast transactions. Which altcoin will replace Bitcoin ? ETH or Ripple or another ?

We don't know yet my opinion is that ripple won't be the one for sure. Try reading a bit more about ripple and you will understand why. Ripple is a bit centralized it could pump in price but can'tt replace bitcoin. Ethereum could potentially be the one but ethereum was build to fulfill another purpose - dApps.

Who knows what will happen.
Sure, no one really knows. Ripple though is one coin that would get busted eventually soon enough and it is funny that some people are using marketcap to judge and now, some who do not even know much about ripple feels it is going to continue this way. I guess we have to see how long the bankers want to keep going with their manipulations thus far.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum 2k USD in February? on: January 04, 2018, 04:37:22 PM
That really can be possible but can we really state for now what is possible and what is not? This is the time for alts to shine and Eth is shining hugely as well. $2k may be possible or not, but that depends on when bitcoin starts the journey as that usually affects Alts a lot.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cheap Altcoins Theory on: January 04, 2018, 04:20:40 PM
I am not surprised and what most of them are looking for is just quantity with the hope that the fact that most of them are not up to a dollar and there is possibility that they can climb up in value like bitcoin later on, they will get a lot from it while forgetting that bitcoin will not even remain stagnant. I am also trying to imagine the look on their faces on what would happen to some of those alts if bitcoin regain dominance if the scaling issue finally gets resolved. It is going to be epic.
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and futures. on: January 04, 2018, 04:10:42 PM
What do you think about the fact that the market is expected to collapse soon because of the fact that bitcoin costs about 15,000. But futures were sold at 17,000, 18,000 and above? Many predict very difficult times for the market.
It wont happen in the near future, the one big threat we should afraid of is the XRP it is a centralized coin in a decentralized community, controlled by the bankers.
I really would not see XRP as a threat and no matter how they want to play out their manipulations, I only pity those who think ripple will end up being a threat and thought investing in ripple would give them a chance. Like you said, this is just a centralized coin, and if they wish they can do whatever they like with it, but let us see for how long they are going to be able to keep up. Back to bitcoin and futures, these are two different angles and should not be entagled in anyway with crypto trading. So, if I were OP, I would not bother much about that.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that will make you RICH in 2018! on: January 04, 2018, 04:02:14 PM
Right now, ENG, COSS, XVG and DNT are already making me rich in 2018. From what these 4 coins have given to me alone at the beginning of this year, it is alone enough for me to retire. Grin
391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction Issue. How is this possible? on: December 21, 2017, 03:21:56 PM
Thanks a lot for the clarification Xynerise, you are the best. I get it now totally. New knowledge everyday. The whole thing was a bit confusing at first and I really appreciate you for taking the time to explain it all. Although it is taking years to get this confirmed, and what I even wanted to use the funds for, I could not again and I guess I am at the mercy of miners now. I hope this scaling issue is finally taken care of.

Cheers bro!
392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction Issue. How is this possible? on: December 21, 2017, 01:39:52 PM
OK! I think I have more questions now. From what Xynerise told me, I just did some digging and then found out here https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/46495/what-does-lock-time-means (for those who care), that the locktime cannot be accepted by the network unless the blockheight is exceeded.

Now, trying to find the latest blockheight, I bumped into this site (https://blockexplorer.com/) and I noticed that the latest block now is 500405 whereas my lock time block shows 500108. That is like some huge hour difference since a new block is mined every 10 minutes if I am right and that has brought in room for more questions in my head now that I ma trying hard to find answers to.

Here is my block https://blockexplorer.com/block/0000000000000000006bd1ce0425f3ffb2366a41d2c47ef12e28c6eefd60717f
393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction Issue. How is this possible? on: December 21, 2017, 01:26:00 PM
Not sure where to post this though, but I am sure the mods will help out if it is the wrong place. And I am new to this and also tried some google search but did not get any pleasing answer.

I tried withdrawing some good amount of bitcoin from my freebitco.in wallet which is not the first time anyway, and it has been over 2 days now but it has not been confirmed. However, this transaction has been added to a block for over 24 hours and still not confirmed. Usually, I know the mempool may be full, and from the little knowledge I have garnered, once your transaction has been added to a block, it should at least get confirmed.

Right now though, this seems to be otherwise and may be there is a point I am missing here, but is it that this transaction is purposely being skipped by miners or it is just something that is normal which can happen even when your transaction has been added in a block?

Here is the transaction hash; https://blockchain.info/tx/36da0189deeef9c1722be6ec587ff756b0560e69bfe68448b986c760fd6acf85

Pardon my ignorance if the question sounds stupid to you, but the blockchain technology is not something you can get to know everything about it over night.
OP your transaction has not been added to a block, so it has not been confirmed.
If you mean the "lock time" then that is a different thing entirely.
That doesn't mean it has been added, it just means that those outputs can't be spent before that block.

For reference, this is an example of a confirmed transaction:
https://blockchain.info/tx/347a15d10804fb7f2ee2a07ea67da975021175872fa47dee3054ce58a8863300

Oh! I have always been mistaking that for transaction being added to a block. It sounds a bit confusing though, but I think that answers it for me. I will do some research on what you have just said.

Thanks a lot bro! Phew!! There is still a lot to learn and take in.
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction Issue. How is this possible? on: December 21, 2017, 12:29:12 PM
ive been using freebitco.in as a wallet for 4 months now and i dont experience any problem just like yours.  are you using automatic withdraw every sunday? because automatic withdraw usually takes more than 1 to 2 days to completely procces your transactions. slow transactions take more than 5 to 6 hours to be process and fast only takes 15 to 30 minutes. also have you check the correct wallet before withdrawing? maybe you missed some numbers or letters after pasting it.

EDIT: i  just accelerate you transaction via antpool. hope it helps

I have been using it too but this seems not to be the fault of freebitco.in but the network and which is kind of amusing. I do not use the automatic withdraw as I disabled the function. I made use of the slow one that takes about 5 hours before it is sent. This has been sent already and the funny thing is that it is added to a block already for almost 24 hours now and still not confirmed, which was what got my attention.

Thanks for accelerating it via antpool, I hope that works. However, I used the rebroadcast method yesterday by generating hex for the transaction and using on antpool website and some other ones, as I learned it works and still nothing. Not sure if this is the same thing you have done though.

Is this a segwit or vanilla bitcoin transaction?
Grin I would call it Vanilla actually.

396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Good Guy Coinbase on: December 21, 2017, 10:26:38 AM
Using an online wallet makes you a bit more vulnerable to that, but hey, at least they're trying their best to make it as secure as possible.

Everything is all fine when the service is working properly, but what if there comes a time it doesn't work properly anymore? And it stays offline for days due to technical difficulties. I definitely understand how convenient it is to use Coinbase to buy and sell, etc, but what's all this worth if the aforementioned happens? Coinbase doesn't allow you to have control over your private keys, which is something blockchain.info is doing right. If blockchain.info for whatever reason remains offline for days, people at least will have always access to their coins due to their private keys, which isn't the case with Coinbase. Hardware wallets as suggested are indeed the best way to go, people should use their Bitcoin gains to get themselves one.
And that is when the whole tongue lashing starts. I remembered when bittrex was the top on the list and then that fateful day came and then they decided to close down all the accounts of unverified users. I hope they continue this way as most exchanges always start right and then all of a sudden like an evil spirit hovering over them, they just find a way to quench the loyalty of their customers. Nice time to give the holders of BTC their bitcoin cash though, when the price is all up.
397  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How to sell my house? on: December 21, 2017, 09:32:48 AM
I find that not good enough you may not be accepted. Sell your house for bitcoin so how will you transfer papers and red books? Who will be responsible? If you need money to sell your house and use that money to buy bitcoin is very easy and convenient. Want to sell please contact the real estate.
Real life interaction is still needed, the payment will be just for bitcoin but when it comes to papers and proper documentations and transfer, they need to do it personally. Both party will be responsible for doing it not unless someone's going to volunteer to shoulder the expenses (probably the buyer) for those documents that they both need.
That is just the fact. The OP cannot just expect to place some pictures and expect some international dude to pay up for a house over the internet that no one is even sure it may be his. Although it sounds crazy though, while reading through the thread and the OP said he has been trying to sell this house now for over 2 years. I do not know, but unless this is a house in the suburbs, why is it so hard to sell a house in Italy?
398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Lucky moments during gambling? on: December 21, 2017, 08:43:26 AM
A simple lucky moment is to get back your loss on that day, and in the next day back to normal, I loose it again. Gambling is pretty good when you want to entertain yourself but if you do this for a living then you must get out of it.
Anyone who is really gambling for a living should just be ready to start digging their own graves, because at the end of the day, they either die from frustrations of life, end up having a heart attack, or even break down and never recover from it. It is a silly thing to do considering gambling as an investment and I am not sorry to those who see gambling as such and if they cannot accept the truth, which they say is bitter, then that is their own problem but I cannot keep shut without saying it.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what impact has gambling make in your life? on: December 21, 2017, 08:15:32 AM
Gambling help me spot the best friends that help me when i'm in the gambling troubles. They helped me a lot.
I hope the best friends are there to get you out when you are going wrong and not doing the otherwise. Gambling is a world of its own and if you find yourself lost in that world, it is always hard to come out. It really does not have much positive impact except negative ones if you really allow it to take control of you rather than you taking control of it.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it fraud ? on: December 21, 2017, 06:07:41 AM
Never give your private key! Once you give it, they can enter your wallet and take all the money. And that transaction cannot be reverted, so you will lose your money.

Looks like fraud
Looks like ? It is absolutely fraud. You have said it all and there is nothing they need the private key for than to have access to the full wallet, so the OP should better just know that now and try not to ever make a mistake like that. Also, be careful the link you open directly from your mails or anywhere as those crazy thieves are on the loose, looking for every account to pounce on.

We should learn to treat our private key like our own eyeball. Even if some people are doing airdrop, the only thing they need from us is our public address and if we ever fall for something like this, it may not even be Ethereum, it could be other asset, then we will have ourselves to blame. It is good that OP have asked as lack of information has made people to learn the hard way.

Isn't it even obvious? Does he need a soothsayer to tell him it is fraud already? Pssss! PRIVATE! That is what they call it. If it was meant to be public, then the word private would not even have been used.
