381  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs shipping 300 units a day on: July 18, 2013, 02:45:33 AM

BFL threads that start with  "Well, they shipped my unit and asked me to review it and post pictures, so I said ok...." do not count as shipping.

They are just bribes !

Yes, they've started shipping Jalepenos, which contain 2 chips each, and are still on October 2012 orders...

I mean, I could see ordering an 2014 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow ahead of time, and then waiting for it for a year. But BFL isn't Rolls Royce.

You're not gonna be able to sell a BFL unit 20 years for now for more money than what you paid for it. Hah !

382  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: July 15, 2013, 02:11:04 PM
Bkkcoins beats BFL !!!

You rule!!!

383  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Will Avalon Batch 3's ever make ROI? on: July 13, 2013, 02:35:38 AM
You aren't going to make ROI in 2 months anymore. Those days are LOOOONG gone.

Looks like you're using even more conservative difficulty estimates than me.

My numbers come in at about 3-4 months using a 66 Gh/s avalon.

Not really too surprising. There is no such thing as a free lunch.
384  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining Equipment Manufacturers -- New AM blades added on: July 12, 2013, 09:08:59 PM

I have no idea how or why you have all Klondike K16 units all at different ROI...

They're the same unit.

It makes no sense to me.
385  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [K1 Nano Boards Only] Group Buy - Big Picture Mining Cooperative on: July 10, 2013, 08:55:38 PM
I'm interested for 8 boards without avalon chips.

Pls post prices when you can.

Thanks.

386  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The price of New Blade and Mini Blade was announced by rockxie on: July 10, 2013, 06:14:50 AM

If they were actually available to ship when announced it might be worth it....

5 Gh/s is about $740ish
10 Gh/s about $1500ish

assuming BTC at $ 75 each.

That's a lot better than what "in hand" hardware is selling for on E-bay. Or, at least, better than what the crazy "buy it now" prices are.

Heh. Crazy stuff...

387  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How to use ASICMiner Block Erupters with CGMiner on Windows 7 on: July 09, 2013, 01:39:32 AM
For some strange reason, CG miner 3.1.1 has started crashing with a USB block erupter. Could not get it to work with either cg miner 3.3.1 or 3.2.0 or 3.2.1 or 3.1.1. Even though 3.1.1 worked fine before. ...I know...weird..

So, I went to bfgminer 3.1.2, uninstalled the UART drivers on page 1, rebooted, installed the drivers again, rebooted, and I'm using this line in my .bat file.

bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 -u youraddresshere -p x -I 9 -S all

It recognizes the usb block erupter, no other drivers needed, I don't have to specify a com port, and it's recognizing my dual Nvidia 560GTX cards (yes, i now, don't ask, they were paid for a long time ago...Smiley

Hope it helps somebody. Grin

388  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 12$+ per GH/s - ESCROW - US/UK ASIC Startup - xCrowd.co.uk on: July 08, 2013, 11:21:48 AM
Hopefully they won't turn out to be Terrahash part Deux.

Here's hoping.
389  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: K1 Nanos - Big Picture Mining Cooperative on: July 07, 2013, 05:37:01 PM
What is your policy on chip trade-ins?

In other words, if I have my own Avalon chips, can I send them in and you can make K1s from them? I think I bought a few extra just in case some were bad.

Thanks.

390  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Smart Phone for Mining? on: July 07, 2013, 02:18:55 PM
You can run the BFL mining software on it, but you have to have some Jalepenos connected to your phone.

Good luck finding BFL hardware.

2009 ??

Wow...
392  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Prices Crashing Now! on: July 06, 2013, 02:25:12 PM
My GPUs are still working just fine and making a profit.

The sky will fall, eventually. But I doubt it will be today or even this year.

Price fluctuations come and go, just like cheap hookers.

Live long and prosper.
393  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Has butterfly started shipping the 25 GH and 50 GH devices ? on: July 04, 2013, 08:12:12 PM
It's the Romanian Securitate

They know everything...

394  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMINER Blade announcment predictions. on: July 04, 2013, 07:37:22 PM
I hope they have similar prices to 1 BTC Block Erupter USBs. I broke even on those with ~145% ROI in about three days. Pretty sure I could do the same thing with the blades... good ole Ebay.

And everyone says you'll for sure lose your money if you buy ASICMINER equipment... you just gotta think outside of the box people and it can be profitable. Wink

Your buyers have 45 days to chargeback the purchase with Paypal, and even longer with their credit cards.  And if the credit card is reported as stolen, indefinitely.  If you haven't been scammed selling on ebay yet, you're lucky.

Lol. Been selling on Ebay for years. You just have to know how to do it. You have to plan ahead, and plan on attempting to be charged back by scammer.

If you are planning on selling any high value items that you think people will charge you back for, make a new free checking account, get it paypal verified ahead of time, when the money clears, take the money out and and close the account if necessary.

Rinse and repeat.
395  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [HOWTO] flash your jalapeno to 8+ ghs on: July 03, 2013, 10:07:29 PM
Very nice work.
396  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMINER Blade announcment predictions. on: July 03, 2013, 05:16:59 PM
At current prices of ~44 btc per blade, assuming 10.3 Gh/s per blade, starting at 25 million difficulty, an ASICMINER blade won't make ROI for a 33 weeks (assuming 12.5 % difficulty rise per month).

Any bitcoin calculator will tell you that.

If they cut the cost in half, it will still take you 4 months to make your money back, using above "conservative" assumptions for difficulty increase.

Not sure if it will be worth it.

397  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Why are people cheering that ASICMINER will bring 800-1000TH online this year? on: July 01, 2013, 11:56:20 PM
I really do not see why you guys are complaining about someone upping their hash rate by a factor of 10x.

You got people on the forums buying up hundreds of Avalon chips and other group buys, probably raising their hash rate by a factor of 10 or more. Nobody seems to be complaining about that.

AM is not going to take over the network and kill their business in the process. They aren't stupid.

Hash rate is going to increase by at least a factor of 10. That's just technology progressing. Anybody that is not adding hash rate at the same rate is going to be left in the dust. End of story.

Full disclosure: my personal hash rate went up by a factor of 2 in the past month, and will continue to do so for the immediate future.

Why should I be surprised that a company with far larger resources is doing the same thing? I'm not.
398  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike 16 Mounting Adapters on: June 30, 2013, 02:56:50 AM
That's very cool. I guess we will find out if the heatsink with the K16 will fit into a hard drive bay. So far, it looks like it will fit into a plastic Cooler master or Thermaltake caddy, according to my measurements. However, I'm not sure that I would take the chance of putting it into a caddy without a dedicated fan. And, I'm pretty sure a front PC case fan will not be able to move enough air to cool 2-3 K16s. I guess we'll have to do some experimenting, but I might be interested in a few adapters. Nice work.
399  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Ann] US based Avalon ASIC chips and assembly: 2,779 remaining on: June 26, 2013, 05:59:27 PM
Pretty sure the server took a dump and headed for the hills, just as I was trying to do my order. Hit continue and it did not do anything, then google said server was unavailable...
Guess I can try again later...
400  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: A case study in entry-level mining on: June 25, 2013, 04:43:07 AM
Yeah that's the thing.

The USB miners are available NOW, and they've gone down in price too.
