381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AORUS RTX 3080 GAMING BOX - eGPU on: January 29, 2021, 05:47:05 AM
Unless you can get the gpu removed, If you want to use this for mining you will still need to connect it to a supported thunder bolt 3 device, its better to return and swap for a gpu or sell it online yourself, you should have done fee research before ordering the egpu
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DIA team kept their promise on: January 28, 2021, 12:28:27 PM
too bad I don't have DIA tokens, because I don't have the funds to buy DIA.  In the past, DIA's bounties were also a lot of prizes, but once again I passed the bounty program.  I am very sorry for not following.  DIA is a very good project for the future
Many people underestimate the project but I was lucky to see the hidden potential in this project so I went ahead and promote the bounty and it ends very rewarding, one of the best bounties in 2020 for sure, I just noticed I've been credited 90 DIA on binance after seeing this post, lucky me
2020 was a very good year for bounty hunters that are good at doing research on projects, some projects did end well in that year compares to 2019, the problem is everyone just join projects to earn money and not all projects will bring good rewards, some won't even pay a penny, let's make sure we do good research on projects to avoid wasting time
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Thermal pads can reduce temp? on: January 28, 2021, 12:09:48 PM
Thermal grizzly pads are the best and if you still have high temp issue I suggest considering a liquid/water cooling for the graphic card, they are for sell on amazon or ebay but the thermal pads should work, I have also seen some using aluminum heat sink module too
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Thermal pads can reduce temp? on: January 28, 2021, 12:05:02 PM
Yes thermal pads works, you just have to cut them to the size of the chips after removing the card fan, it works very well, I was forced to use such on a yeston RX5700xt I got because its temp was too damn high and it fix the issue
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: A real way to make crypto, risk-free and profitable investments. on: January 27, 2021, 06:02:28 AM
Is ideachain a stable coin? I don't think it is, so volatility is present and you are saying it's risk free investment? Any coin that goes up and down carries major risk mate, even if the project is so legit and scam free risk of price loss is inescapable, as good as BTC and ETH is they are still risk investments
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Planning to build a new rig on: January 27, 2021, 05:55:31 AM
I have some other rigs running but I am looking to building another rig  so help me to choose the best setup for mining, 2x RX5500XT or a single RX5700XT? Which one will be better in return of investment wise, energy consumption and cost
I prefer lower power graphics cards because they have very few overheating problems and are more stable. But that doesn't mean you should buy any RX5500XT.
The RX5500XT 8GB will probably be easier to sell later, because they are cheaper and will suit many gamers.
The perfect middle is the RX5600XT.

Doesn't make sense to me because 2x RX5500XT is equal to a RX5700XT and the power is as follows

RX5500XT = 54 watts power draw mining ETH ( 2x = 108 watts)
RX5700XT =  91 - 100 watts power draw mining ETH

It's fairly the same thing and a RX5700XT still use 4MH to triumph over 2x RX5500XT

I just purchased two 5500 8gb cards for 209 each total 418.

So if you find a pair 5500 8gb cheaper than 1 5700 it makes perfect sense.

my 5500 comes on the 28th.

the truth is short term

5500 8gb shipped quick at a good price are fine.

5600 6gb shipped quick at a good price are fine

5700 8gb shipped quick at a good price are fine..

same for

nvidia 3060ti shipped quick at a good price
nvidia 3070. shipped quick at a good price
nivdia 3080.  shipped quick at a good price.

all six above are worth getting if the price is good and you get them by jan 31 or feb 1
@philipma1957 can you please tell me how you get those RX5500XT at 209$ each? That is a good price mate, please tell me where you get them at such price, I can't find such price on amazon and ebay, any help will be appreciated
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH rig not working suddenly on: January 27, 2021, 05:49:41 AM
Relax mate, something is wrong with one of the risers, just a guess though, remove all the graphics card and start testing one by one, make sure they hash before jumping to the other, if everything hash then the graphic cards are all fine, now remains the risers, use a single graphic card to test the risers one after the other
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If new projects can go through verifications too on: January 26, 2021, 06:10:41 AM
Majority of the new projects do not want this to happen and also in regards to the decentralization and freedom which is the main point of a cryptocurrency. Since we saw some active participation of the SEC, alot of these scams has stopped.
Of cos why would they want this to happen? 80% of projects that are coming into crypto space have different plans in mind and they are strictly into money making only, they only pretend to deliver for starter but as time goes on things will change, they will definitely find all means to avoid KYC or any form of regulations
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ripple (XRP) price will it recover or will it dump more? on: January 26, 2021, 06:07:25 AM
XRP is 0.26$ presently, this isn't bad at all and we heard that the project will be pardoned under joe biden very soon, don't know if this will actually happens but the confidence of getting over SEC lawsuits is present in the team and CEO, I'm less worried about XRP 100%
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the most important cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin? on: January 26, 2021, 06:05:00 AM
Monero got more enemies than Bitcoin, the anonymous part of Monero makes things hard for the project ( centralized hatred ), it's going to face different hardship if regulations comes in future, it's a top coin and first of its kind but can't be compared to bitcoin and stop dreaming that it will take over bitcoin
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on Windows 10 and possibly fixing lower than expected hashrate on: January 25, 2021, 07:04:30 AM
OP find a pendrive with 8gb space and download hiveOS it's way better and easier, you don't have to be disturbed with updates like that of windows 10 anymore and this OS is only for mining purpose only, hiveOS was build on Linux too so its more user friendly than trying to run a mining software on Linux itself
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 3080 or RTX 3090 ? on: January 25, 2021, 07:00:39 AM
Hi there,

First of all, sorry for my english, it's not my first language.

I'm reading a lot of posts and i try to learn a lot about mining.

I'm going to try and i'm actually looking at some GPUs on Aliexpress.

The only thing is, i don't know what to choose between RTX 3080 and RTX 3090. I could invest for 6 GPUs and i will have an electricity cost of 0.14 € / KWH.

Nicehash show me a record around 8-900 $ / Month for this configuration.

What do you guys think ?

Thank you very much, i would appreciate your help Smiley
Be careful on aliexpress, make sure you buy GPUs from sellers that have sold many before and also go through their buyers review, this is very important because not all items on aliexpress are from good people, some are just there to scam you, the review part is a must to get a serious seller
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Technical help needed for XMR Mining on: January 25, 2021, 06:55:40 AM
There is XMrig miner for AMD and XMrig miner for Nvidia, you need to get the right one for your gpu and also that CPU is better for RandomX Algorithm than your gpu so it's better to mine XMR with your CPU and mine ETH with your GPU, also to get higher hashrate you need to activate huge page for your CPU, it's been long since I mine Monero, I can't even remember how to buy I'm sure that google search have the answer.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with nonsignificant altcoins on: January 22, 2021, 06:56:32 AM
I'm talking stuff like Monero, XLM, etc. With BTC so high, does it make more sense to trade them for BTC, or for USD?
The USD part is where I'm confused, are you willing to change to FIAT because you've earned enough profit or you want to change to FIAT because you are scared of dump? Well that's a question you can answer within you, every investors must have a threshold of ROI they want, we can't predict where the market is headed, changing to USD will safe you from dumps but holding Monero and XLM will give you more profit in future, the choice is yours to make in the end
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Solar and batteries 24/7 on: January 22, 2021, 06:51:39 AM
Yes there are people like myself mining on solar, the problem is you will be spending much money on the solar equipments, I went for a all in one power solution, I will drop a image below and it's 2400watt solar inverter, it has inbuilt lithium ion batteries which are better than lead acids batteries and deep cycle batteries, I only use 2 gpu on the inverter and it lasted me for 12 hours

You can use solar panels to recharge or electricity to recharge too, way convenient than buying separate charge controller and separate inverter
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Will history repeat itself? (4GB GPU) on: January 22, 2021, 06:35:57 AM
Have you try to look for new altcoins to mine? That's the only thing you can do if you tend to keep your 4gb rx470s or other, the problem is out to do research on the coins before you mine them, you need to make sure that the new coin have good utility before mining, you can use this pool to check out new altcoins

397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How eth revenu works on: January 22, 2021, 06:29:14 AM
In this case I suggest you should worry more about the hashrate that your mining is giving you, the results of pool calculations will never be accurate because of rise and fall in rewards, just because you earned 5$ mining Ethereum yesterday doesn't mean you will earn the same today and tomorrow
398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IDO is going to replace IEO? on: January 21, 2021, 07:19:25 AM
The reason why ICO was so down today is because of scammers and lack of regulations like some said but this IDO represents zero regulations, I'm not saying it's bad, few projects have raised good amount of money using IDO but just imagine the freedom that scammers will have here, chilling 😱, the reason why I prefer IEO is because we have someone to blame, these platforms (top exchanges) have something to lose too, they have their reputation to protect.
399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hidden Gems on: January 21, 2021, 07:16:02 AM
Every crypto projects have their risks and I don't believe that they will all have good promising futures, invest only what you can afford to lose, that's been told many times already, whichever project you choose the high risks still stands, I have few projects I like and would love to keep for long time too but i don't consider any as Hidden GEM or even GEM until my predictions becomes a reality
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Polkadot going to Kill Ethereum? on: January 21, 2021, 07:11:17 AM
There are few coins that are top 10 altcoins rank in 2016 and they loss the rank unexpectedly, I still remember blackcoin and others very well, I know Ethereum is far stronger but new projects are showing more interests in Polkadot, people that's a big problem for Ethereum if you ask me
