A significant barrier to investment in cryptocurrencies is the damage that they cause to the environment. So why not support the one which will change all this?
We are an open-source, democratically-managed cryptocurrency for our initial distribution based on the Scrypt algorithm, put to use helping the environment and the ever increasing threat posed by greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. We are open for public mining in the initial stages of our development to encourage environmental awareness in the mining community. Mining will end in August, with the precise date/block number to be firmly announced on June 16 at 12:00PM UTC. Please see the Goals/Milestones thread for what stage we are at in our development and plans for the future. The Carboncoin Forest's initial sites, one in Hampshire, UK and the other in Wyoming, USA collectively have enough space to plant over a million saplings into permanent forestry. The price for planting the saplings is a fraction of the cost of other tree planting schemes, and will be entirely funded by Carboncoin donations, 100% of the proceeds from these donations will be going DIRECTLY to buying and planting saplings Initial locations disclosed here. All our trees planted on the project will be left to grow into permanent forestry, by that time having absorbed well over 1000kg of Carbon Dioxide on average. Our fiat price for saplings is less than 20% of that of planting one as a gift online and the more we are able to purchase, the cheaper this will become. 100% of the funds released from converted donations will be going directly to planting trees or other natural sequestration projects. Did you dump your coins?
We need you to help us out at least by giving us some access to your website, twitter, and the other parts of the coin so we can grow this coin. There are some that want this thing to grow, but are limited without your support.
.....Maybe he wants to get in cheap on the coin so he can then pump it up by making a comeback???

I found someone who can do both a Mac Wallet and a linux wallet for .13btc
Brilliant effort finding someone but a few things to consider: I am not sure about paying someone in BTC to do it. I am thinking that asking for payment in a different currency is a little cynical, also there is a lot of danger involved in asking someone to produce an executable file without knowing who they are. I would happily pay someone 2M Carb to do it, but I would have to speak to them directly first to make sure they were ok. Linux wallets are readily compilable from source too and most Linux owners have the wherewithall, so offering that isn't really a value-add. I've got someone who can do the Linux bits and to the initiated a Mac wallet should be a 5 minute task. Your friend is thinking his time is rather valuable. My guts say keep looking.  P.s. Any chance you can switch onto carbon.basshash.com, we are finding blocks consistently now. We're using the fees to cover the cost of the blockchain! and P.P.S. what do you think about the new thread suggestion? Have pretty much got a new website done already. |

Nope, I have asked around, but I think we need to reannounce the coin now that the "Launch Payout" has come to an end. It needs to be about more than an increased payout at launch...
I am also thinking about launching a more up to date website, at least until the dev comes back online. Having 2 websites can't be bad for the coin really nor can having two announcements.
What are everyone's thoughts on this?
I think it will be much easier to get help with development if we make everything look smart. I feel like I should get some sort of consensus here before moving - I don't know. Can anyone see any reason not to start a new thread and launch a new, up to date website?

We will get there, I have some blockchain news I will be updating shortly By the way, any recent words of support from the devs? I guess we will know once the blockchain is available. If we see a huge sell from one address then we will know he/they probably dumped. Either that or they didn't realize just how much work is actually involved in maintaining a successful altcoin. Definitely not a part time job, I would imagine. I would really hate to think that all the resources I have thrown at mining this coin goes to waste. I mean, I'm just a CPU miner who has only managed to get about 52,000 CARB so far, but I'm getting it!  And I am definitely gonna hold on to what I have in hopes that one day either the value goes up, or businesses start accepting CARB for purchases. One can hope! No word from the dev I'm afraid. I do hope he is ok! Never fear, what he has created is rather bigger than he is. Myself and some associates have now completed our own blockchain - and after just a few tweaks to the look and feel I will post the link (don't get too excited, we are no web designers). I imagine the release will be published at some point tomorrow. I can confirm that the original dev has not "spent" any of the premine:- even though it has been transferred, it remains unspent (alternative viewpoints on this welcomed at blockchain release, not completely sure how exchanges behave on blockchain), so by my reckoning at least there is still very much time for him to make good on his bounty commitments. As far as cpu mining goes I thank you for your care and would like to offer you some additional coin for your invaluable show of support. No one claimed the ten 5000 coin prizes we offered ourselves for the twitter Chinese translation challenge as yet, so I will offer all but one of those to you, should you accept them. If you do, if you would post your wallet hash here or privately we can make your balance a little more significant. For anyone not donating, I would ask you to switch your carbon mining to our pool when we launch both sites tomorrow, by way of a show of gratitude for the blockchain set up, and the value this will hopefully help stimulate. Thanks, if the coin rises to anything above double digits then good for it. I was mining the coin when the diff was very low so the return I saw was good enough for me. I hope everyone that is hoarding the coin soon become rich beyond their wildest dreams, but we all know with the abundance of coins out there now it's a very very slim chance, and I'd rather have a little of something than millions of nothing Well I am certainly more interested in making millions of something! (Triple* digits) Speaking of which, at my request a friend has started an unofficial twitter page for Carboncoin @TrueCarbonCoin please follow, retweet and feel free to make any suggestions for tweets/improvements to the page. Come on community lets do this thing! I am hoping to have an unofficial blockchain launched within a week, which is costing some money, then we will at least have a meaningful offering to take to the big exchanges. Anyone mining this please feel free help the cause with a donation and if our friend the dev wakes up maybe he can part with some of that bounty he promised. So the twitter link provided on the page still has zero tweets. Would the coin dev care to explain himself? I am thinking I will start unofficial social media pages and get the message out there, who is with me? We have a potentially ridiculously valuable coin here but it might be time people started to find out about it. Does anyone have any thoughts? Also should I get a blockchain done regardless? Community please let me know your feelings? Maybe people think it is better to keep it quiet for now? I think a blockchain should be done regardless. And we really do need some social media pages. Facebook/twitter/Reddit/and soem kind of forum. What are you all finding to be more accurate for CARB/DAY, hashrapid or scryptominers? I've been mining this for a couple of weeks and have mined/sold over 40m but since the massive diff hike last week I can't seem to get an accurate CARB/DAY read out anywhere.
So you're the one selling them at 2s and 3s??? Well I am sure all the buyers are very grateful... Hopefully it ceases to become profitable for you to mine-to-sell at these levels soon, and then the price can start to climb towards fair value. If we get to 000's I will send you a pm to remind you how you despatched 0.25% of the total coin supply before there was even a blockchain . Anyway... To answer your question there is no way of telling accurately because it would be perfectly possible for Hashrapid to find 5 blocks in a row and Scrypto to find none, or vice versa. There is natural variance, that is just statistics - however one of the features of pool mining is that on balance, over enough time, the returns should tend to eachother. Depending on your mining operation it might be prudent to have your mining power shared between a few different pools. You could generate separate deposit addresses in your wallet for each pool and watch your balances over a 24hr period if you had any interest beyond this. AM |
