Not marked it is luck of the draw. And they are hard to test. Once on board you will have hard time removing them. It is possible to make a test socket with springs but it would be expansive and hard...

I'm okay with that, luck of the draw it is then.

And just in case you don't know:
Chips are sold in mixed grade lots.

  A grade has 16 engines, 60%

  B grade has 15 engines, 20%

  C grade has 14 engines, 15%

  D grade has 12 engines.   5%

All chips run at a minimum of 250 mhz.

Higher grade chips will run up to 294 mhz.

Well I guess that brings up a couple of questions.

1: Will the chips be labelled or do you have to test them to know what grade they are?

2: If the grade of the chips is known then do you divide them up to everyone using that same strategy, for example if someone bought 10 chips would they get 6 A grade, 2 B grade , 1 C grade  and 1 D grade?

I hope I don't sound petty here I am really just curious. I just learned they had grades when the discussion came up about the sample chips. I've got 16 chips coming that I plan to mount on 1 board and I will be happy if it hashes anywhere between 60GH/s and 70GH/s.

edit; I guess I should say anything over 60GH/s no reason to stop you at 70GH/s.

Also if it's luck of the draw I'm okay with that as well.

Nice, so we are truly looking at 1 board there. I like the power supply jumper. (That’s an attempt at humor not criticism)

Just answering... I think your signature needs changes Smiley

Lucko I think you have been locking it Wink
Yeah pgp urls broke
I don't think the other thread is locked now. I believe  the links are broken because the forum now has issues with shortened links.
388  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL board project COINADO - Hash test done and working on: August 07, 2013, 02:38:21 PM
For unknown reason topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=267649 was locked... Or someone with power hate that we took the lead... So for now I'm waiting to get answer why but it looks like they have changed some polices (see warning next to my PGP key signature)
I saw your post on the other thread. Yeah it seems that they don't like the shortened url's anymore. Same thing happened to my PGP key link.

I'm impressed with the pace of the board development.
390  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL board project COINADO on: August 04, 2013, 06:53:31 PM
It will be ready in time so don't worry... Tests are hours away and then making production boards if all is well... You will be ready to order probably by the end of the month or sooner...

Nice, it's been a good weekend.

Jalapeño will do some mining over the weekend and then it go to the lab on oscilloscopes... then some new firmwares and some additional power and chips...

EDIT: and some posing to infra-red camera...
Let me know how the photo shoot goes. I'm feeling pretty good about my choice to go with this group, if all goes well I'll be ordering more chips.

I see several of you are online and I’m bored so I'm asking if there is any new news...
395  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Nvidia GTX430/ ATI 6670 mixed mining, getting hashes but no shares. on: August 01, 2013, 11:42:03 AM
I'm mining with on Windows my two 5850's and didn't ever thought about need to use the dummy plugs, it isn't needed!
You just need to disable ULPS - this mechanism disables the second card without monitor/workload. Here's how to do it:
Quote
Go to registry and disable Ulps:

 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Cl ass\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]

and change "EnableUlps" to 0 under the 0000 and 0001 or 0003 keys.
If that doesn't help try a dummy plug for the card with no monitor.

form correct me if I'm wrong but for 8 probably there is not enough power in this board right? This one is for test and you can add additional power supplys on it. Right?

Yes, this power module (that plug-in module behind the ATX-connector) can probably supply up to four of the chips. When we run all tests we will see how many current is flowing, and the final board will get a bigger module or two of them.
I like it. I'm anxiously awaiting the test results.

So they are putting 8 chips on that board?  I was just curious, I don't mean to sound sceptical. If so that’s awesome.

I see at least one solder bridge.   You might need to get out your Exacto-knife and clean that up...  Smiley
I may have to break out the glasses. Can you describe where you see the bridge?

Keep getting disconnected again. Same kind of errors as this weekend. Not happening with my other pools. Just wanted to give a heads up!

Everything is in working order as of right now. There are somewhere around 100,000 connections to the pool, server load in the 10-20% area, etc. All pretty normal.
No problems here...
