OT:

I'm so glad to see movie review sites not being paid off by Hollywood anymore to write gushing reviews of terrible movies, and finally getting back to writing brutally honest critical reviews of terrible movies.

Corporations will now be able to report btc gains on their asset if they hold it, pumping their overall stock price value for EOY reporting.

Funny how a major barrier to corporate bitcoin holding adoption is changed right before the coming Bitcoin ETF approvals?

What amazing timing! I'm shocked, shocked I tells ya! /s  Roll Eyes

I think the hardest part for newcomers is the first bull run followed by a hefty correction.  It's hard to deal with the "I'm a genius" followed by the "shit I fucked up" roller coaster of emotions.  Many of those newcomers sell and call it a loss.  Some of the newcomers tough it out and live to see the next bull run with newfound confidence in the bitcorn.

This is a big reason to do the "don't invest what you can't afford to lose". Being down and in a shitty position can force you to do things that just make things worse.

This is very true.  However, "what you can afford to lose" becomes a sliding scale for many people while facing losses they may not have expected.  Maybe they initially thought "Shit, I can afford to throw $10,000 at this and lose it worst case scenario." Then suddenly they see $10,000 turning into $4,000 and start thinking "Well better to have $4,000 instead of $3,000 in my pocket".

There are many studied psychological theories such as Status Quo Bias and Risk Aversion Bias that greatly impact people and thier decision making abilities.  Simply put, you may find yourself doubting the decision you made today even though you're currently 100% sure of it.  Emotions are a very powerful and funny thing that many folks do not understand how to control or be self aware of.

A close friend of mine went to college for many years and studied investing and finance.  While speaking to him during one of the bear markets he asked "How are you feeling with the current bear market?" I told him that it's just part of the cycle and I've been buying as much as I can on a weekly basis.  I told him everything has cycles including the stock market.  Now is the best time to buy.  He told me that this strategy and mindset is one of the hardest things to overcome in the investing/finance world and something many (even expierenced) investors struggle with.

My father, who is still alive, got burned on an investment back in the 1980s.

To this day he refuses to discuss it with me, but it must have been a bad enough blow to his psyche and/or wallet, because he has never privately invested in anything since. He has become far too risk averse.

That is the real tragedy and lesson: not getting back into the game once burned.

He sat on the sidelines and missed so many investment opportunities from the 80's, 90's, 2000's and beyond...

Many here celebrate seeing btc going up, because their holdings are growing in value.

Some of us celebrate seeing btc going up, because we have to sell less and less of it to live.  Smiley

Jesus. Two pages of going on about GPUs and not one locomotive?

We're still a long way from CCMF.

Maybe after $60k.

Indeed we’re still in recovery mode

I think they'll first do a major bull trap (sell the ETF news), before eventually reversing course and plowing onward and upward.

I’m surprised a bull trap hasn’t occurred yet. Someone must be buying a ton of BTC right now. This is bigger than a Microstrategy buy. I would speculate a Saudi Fund or maybe a country like Argentina or even a company like Apple. I’m in full spectator mode seeing what happens next. I’ve got a Bitcoin ticker going in my house now.

A bull trap wouldn't happen until after all the ETFs get approved....so early next year.

Either that, or Gary punts again on the very first ones just to be a dick (and to benefit his shorting buddies), sending bitcoin down.

Something is going to happen next year that will force the Fed's hand to start lowering rates. (A war in Taiwan? Major terrorist attack? CRE and Banking sector meltdown? Who knows, but it'll just be a cover story)

When this starts to happen, the leftover 1 trillion $ from the Fed's RRO will begin moving out, looking for a better return elsewhere. It's already been draining fast since June, down from a high of 2 trillion $.

If the market begins to crash, Wall Street will take all that money and massively short the market, looking to scoop up more cheap shares.

Wall Street already knows all this is coming (insider knowledge), they are just front running it now.

I'm actually starting to think that a proxy war next year in the South China Sea makes the most sense.

Look how they've run up the biggest bubble in nVidia stock.

And now the word is that insider investors are dumping their nVidia shares.

Gee, I wonder why?  Tongue  Wink

Wow, just noticed that Gold spiked to $2150, a new ATH.

Those sitting on cash are waking up to the reality that they are going backwards!

Is the market pricing in rate cuts next year, or are they being manipulated to help justify the need to further increase rates…

When you get wealthy in life, you don't have go around telling people about it.

If they ask directly, just say you became an "investor" and you eventually became wealthy on your "investments".

That is all. They don't need to know exactly how you did it. They don't need those details.

This cartoon illustrates the fact that they wouldn't have the balls and determination for it anyway.

The best time to buy bitcoin was 10 years ago, like when I told you to, dumbass."

World economies going down in flames, due to complete garbage monetary policies.

Major banks on the verge of bankruptcy.

SBF and CZ convicted, going to jail.

Bitcoin breaking out to upside.

Stocks breaking out to upside.

PMs breaking out to upside.

Bitcoin Spot ETFs all approved from Jan-Feb, no later than March 2024.

Wall Street says no more Fed rate hikes, greater than 80% chance of rate cuts starting by March 2024.

Purely coincidence?

Sure, sure...I guess everything in life now is just one massive 'coincidence'.  Roll Eyes  Tongue

You can sense the MSM's desperation right now, to keep Average Joe away from buying bitcoin and focused instead on buying useless Xmas gifts.  Roll Eyes

I repeat what i said thousand of times, this is not related with BTC or crypto this is one more piece in the puzle between the "commercial war" between China and Usa, so USA is responding now, so you took out my boy Sam Bankman-Fried from Ftx, well im gonna take down your CZ.

I only hope this shit dont cause so much turbulence in the prices.

I repeat what I said thousands of times, this is not related with BTC,, just the thousands of CRYPTO SHITCOINS

The SEC removing market makers before giving the greenlight for Blackrock and consorts taking over to assert their global market dominance that will also bolster Bitcoin's legitimacy and adoption.

https://x.com/misterrcrypto/status/1727027216809378167?s=46

This right here. This is exactly the right answer.

It's not just about controlling the supply. It's about controlling the global float, front running, controlling wash trading, and making sure no outside naked longing/ naked shorting is going to fuck up the whale trades and settlements. No leakage. Controlling the rug pull when they decide.

Once major financial institutions start storing and holding a financial asset in earnest, then shit gets real, real fast.

Good for bitcoin? Yes, yes it is. It means they care about it enough to do this.

...I can’t help wonder if this is the vehicle that enables TPTB to “erase” and handle their ballooned trillion dollar debt deficits, and reset the world economy onboard the Bitcoin standard (hyper-Bitcoinization). In this (un?)realistic scenario, Bitcoin would have failed on almost all counts it stands by today, especially if there is no privacy involved.

This is a complete oxymoron statement.

I can most assure you, if TPTB were to "reset the world economy onboard <insert crypto blockchain here>", it would definitely NOT have core privacy as a feature. Or it would have fake privacy, or a backdoor to privacy of some kind.

Privacy to them would be a failure. Thus, CBDC's will have zero privacy.

"Blackrock reportedly seeded their spot ETF in October.

https://x.com/ericbalchunas/status/1716487573588070728?s=61&t=911XcFq5FV9qoH1Ja3r1TQ"

I only post this because I remembered someone posting here that it would be highly illegal for a fund provider like Blackrock to prebuy assets before opening said fund and having orders from outside money to buy the assets of the new ETF, and if I was a better poster I would find that post and might yet still in the future.

I said as much way back in an earlier post, and someone smugly snarked at me over it.

These elite financial firms like Blackrock are corrupt as hell, beyond anything you could ever imagine, and they are completely in bed with the SEC.

Does anyone really think they wouldn't start accumulating btc on the DL (through 3rd parties) for their wealthy clients well ahead of their Spot ETF launch? They can easily do it as their "partners in crime" will happily look the other way.

If you don't think that, then I've got some news for ya...you're completely clueless how the world works.  Roll Eyes

It fairly easy when you know what to do…

1. Time of posting and work out if it is day or night. This will work out if The Dude is in the northern or southern hemisphere. - Here we can see he is in the northern

2. Reference the Timezone and Photo and work out which time part of the northern hemisphere - We can assume he is in Spain

3. Confirm he is in Spain using seasons and what people would be wearing… I can see over head heaters and gas heaters. - People wearing longs pants and jackets. Confirmed it is autumn attire.

4. Look at foliage and confirm best growing conditions. - Lady finger bananas, latitudes 27° and 44° N

5. Pin point the location by finding identity logos and other unique marks - Logo on the wine glass points to Cipriani. Elegant blue and white nautical aesthetic, high gloss wood interior points to their Marbella location.

Easy 5 step process!!!

Amazing work, hisslyness!
