The guy continually outs himself as a fraudster.

In all of his writings, Satoshi never once self-referenced as a "company", or even so much as hinted at such absurdity.

You would think if CSW were to continue with this impersonation scam, he'd at least try to act or sound like Satoshi...  Roll Eyes

It seems like the market responded a little to Trump’s speech about the demise of the dollar being the United States’ biggest loss in 200 years. It’s looking more and more like a dollar crash is on the table. If that happens it’s really anybody’s guess how high the price of Bitcoin could go. For now though, the grind upward continues on the path to $30K.

Seems the western world is asleep at the wheel what is happening with this. Not sure why that is, unless this is actively set in motion and then pretend CBDCs are the great saviours "we need".

Although at this point I would be wary of drinking unboiled tap RO water as RO alone does not remove bacteria. And who knows what kind of bacteria are in those pipes...

This is incorrect. RO systems do remove 99.9% of bacteria from your water source.

https://waterfilterspot.com/reverse-osmosis-remove-bacteria/

-----------------

As far as store-bought bottled water goes, the only brand I would trust at this point is Aquafina.

But normally I just bottle up my own RO water from my house for road trips or around town. Saves money.

Just noticed there was a strange logo when logging into twitter just now:

https://twitter.com/unusual_whales/status/1642946144815943683

Come on Elon, April fools was two days ago.

https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1642962756906418176?s=19

Elon treats cryptocurrencies like a bad punchline. The fact that he continues to post about DOGE just proves it.

This is why no one should take his dumb ass seriously about bitcoin, "crypto", or anything else for that matter.

The guy is just a total douchebag troll, not much different from CSW tbh.

@ torque.

I have a whole house filter

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZZA5S7/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A37LDA69RBBS9R&psc=1

this leads to whole house and takes 90 days about 18000 gallons and then I change it.

it is filthy.

That's cool. Does your water come from a well?

I heard one thing to be cautious, when drinking a lot of reverse osmosis water, is that it can flush too many minerals out of your body.  So you may need to take them in again via supplement.

I second that.
Let me be a wise-ass for a second:  Grin
Kidney stones are often a result of too high Magnesium/Cacium/Vitamin-D uptake (only in excessive amounts, though) and/or high Oxalate ingestion.
Citric Acid is actually functioning as a basic agent (alkalic) in the body, thus reducing Oxalic Acid in the Kidneys. It's effective in Kidney stone prevention.
However, Citric Acid is binding to heavy metals and also able to pass through the blood/brain barrier, so better avoid it.
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) is also said to be working like CA, only a little less effective.
(DYOR)

Great conversation going, guys. Keep it going!  Smiley

One thing I would comment on is that RO water is still going to be much better for you in the long run than tap. You can always eat well and take supplements to boost your minerals.

Case in point, my tap water comes from a natural fed aquifer and is around 85 ppm, which is pretty darn good compared to our country's standard average of 200-300 ppm for tap water.

But holy hell, you should see what my RO filters look like after just a year's time. Yuck! Dark brown and slimy. I'll have to take a photo and share it with you next time. I just imagine what that would cumulatively do to my internal system over the next 30-40 years. And god only knows what chemicals are in there.

My RO system filters my water down to 4-5 ppm. Tastes amazing and makes great tasting coffee. I just take plenty of supplements and eat lots of veggies, fruit, and lean meats.

Oil prices surge after surprise move to cut output
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-65157555

Quote
Yael Selfin, chief economist at KPMG, warned that the oil price surge could make the battle to bring down inflation harder.

I just can't see a CB pivot this year. Presumably the markets are pricing this in. Quite happy about McDonalds probably going to lay off thousands. Share prices keep rising.

Maybe we will see a big assed dump in stocks later this year when the reality of the lack of a pivot will set in.

Hopefully BTC won't be affected (again).

Bond markets, funding markets, etc are still saying there are some deep seated issues in the monetary system that the CBs have yet to band-aid over with their latest alphabet toolkits. So pivot is still very possibe this year. Doesn't mean we won't see a crash though, infact that could be the final symptom before the pivot. Time will tell.

we are going to crash much like 2008

"Past Performance Is Not Indicative Of Future Results"

Nah, at this point a 2008 style crash is extremely doubtful. Should have happened in March 2020 (actually it DID happen), but they printed trillions $$$$ to bail those world banks and corporations out and wipe away their debt/make them whole.

At this point they are just going to let all of the world's little mom-and-pop businesses and the ones that are heavily in debt either go bankrupt, or swoop in and buy them out for pennies on the dollar (if they have any worth at all). Small business collapse will continue, mergers will continue, and mass layoffs will continue. We are in the heat death of a slow burn, long term recession.

They will make sure that all of the world's major monopolized corporations and investment banks are well capitalized though. As cheap liquidity continues to dry up, it will flee away from risky or low/no return investment entities (as we have already seen with SVB, Credit Suisse, etc) and instead will run to and consolidate at these much larger, more favored companies and banks. Thus accelerating more high risk / small business collapse and bankruptcies.

Perhaps flushing out much of this mal-investment is a good thing. But there will be associated mass layoffs, reduced tax base, and reduced consumption.

I also think the stock market will continue to drift upwards YOY, even with high Fed rates, if nothing more that because inflation will continue.

Throw in a pivot on rates, and that stock rise will begin to accelerate.

The last time I glanced at the number of shitcoins on CMC, it was ~3000 or so.

Now it is over 23,000.

Holy fkn shit.

I guess they'll just keep pumping out the shit until the end of time.

When 1M shitcoins?

...and world wide recession occurs.

They've been saying this for 2-3 years now, and keep moving the goal posts. "Recession still coming?..."

No, we've BEEN in a global recession for years now.

It's obvious to, well, literally everyone that earns a paycheck and spends money.

Bank of England on heightened alert for further banking turmoil

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-65099136

Bailey said it was "the fastest collapse from health to death" since the UK's Barings Bank failed in 1995 after suffering heavy losses resulting from fraudulent investments. Sam Woods, the chief executive of the Prudential Regulation Authority, noted that SVB UK saw about a third of its deposits - £3bn - withdrawn on one day.

He twice suggested to the MPs that the stress tests applied to UK banks to make sure they can withstand a crisis would need to be looked at, given how new technology meant deposits could be withdrawn electronically in seconds. However, Mr Bailey told MPs he did not think the UK was in a position similar to the 2008 global financial crisis, when banks stopped lending to each other, plunging the world into a deep recession.

If anyone can't see the global grift by now, they are completely blind.

It's global liquidity that's the problem. Countries don't want to issue bonds, print and devalue their currencies any more than is completely necessary. They've done enough of that already. And no trad investments are giving their corps or investment banks any returns whatsoever right now.

Everything, everywhere is deflating all at once.

So where are their investment banks and corporations going to get the money if their reserve banks don't print more at 0% rates? Only one place left: sucking it directly from their citizens' savings and investments.

Look at China. For over a decade they've been successful by closing off their citizens to any and all foreign/outside investment, and then providing them with only ONE localized investment vehicle (*cough Ponzi scam) left: skeletal, crappy hi-rise apartments built in the middle of BFE nowhere.

It's an IOU given for a completely worthless asset, in return for cash. It's actually worse than the worst of ponzis, shitcoins or NFTs.

And China's banks made a fortune by doing this. What a great model. So they think they'll be able to revive it and keep it going. Just look at 10-15 yr charts showing how China's household savings rates have plummeted and debt has risen.

What about other countries? Their citizens' banks will dry up like the Sahara.

Those digits you see when you log into your banking app and look at your balance? Well, they're just a mirage.

And don't even get me started on what SPACs were really all about...

10.4% inflation.

"A complete shock."
"Totally unexpected."

How could this possibly happen with our safe pound handled by such professor geniuses such as Andrew Faily, Jeremy Cunt and Rishi Sputnik.

Ironically, my insurance payouts were upped by roughly 6% ("inflation compensation") for 2023.
Don't ask me how they calculated that number, i guess they just left energy and food prices out of the equation  Huh
On the other hand, i'm really blessed to get regular money from the social system, at my age, at all.

EDIT: While the government's economic experts recently said it's very OK for everyone to work full time until the age of 80.  Roll Eyes

I feel sad for the 70-something year old people you see at supermarket checkouts now even at times. Sure, that age range will probably only increase with evil insane policies being invented right now.

These people should be able to put their feet up.

But this is what you get with evil fiat pushers in charge.

I remember very distinctly when, right in the beginning of 2021 during the Covid bullshit, a major national grocery store near us scrapped all of their cashier lanes for self-check out lanes. (funny how they had those units ready to go right when the pandemic hit, huh? what perfect timing.)

This grocery store employed mostly 50-65 year old cashiers for years and years.

I remember talking to one of them the week after the switch out, and they said, "No it's a good thing...contactless, faster checkout because people can bag their own groceries...plus our company promised we'd still all be able to keep our jobs."

And they were still there...for about a year. They would oversee/manage the self-checkout units instead of directly checking people out.

Now all those older employees are completely gone, replaced by clueless 20 year olds now.

I guess they can 'put their feet up' now, whether they wanted to or not.

"Keep our jobs, they said."  Roll Eyes

What do you guys think will happen in April? Are you going to climb further above $30000 or are we going to be stuck in the $25000-30000 range because this is the best Bitcoin has looked in a year and I think the overall mood is good but I never know how to gauge the trend of a bull market. I think the WO squad are more insightful then a lot of the internet so I am keen to hear your opinions about where you think we are heading.

I still think things will play out like I mentioned back in January:

If I have to describe in one sentence the price action in 2019 and 2020 it would be "The battle for 10K". I'm just curious which will be the new 10K for 2023 and 2024 - 30K, 40K or even 50K? My guess is 40K.

My guess is $29,900 will become the new $9,900.

It'll go sideways for what seems like forever, occasionally teasing > $30k only to get squashed down over again and again.  Roll Eyes

But it'll still be a good thing, because On Like Donkey Kong.

The price is definitely going to be range-bound for a very loooong time as long as Fed rates stay this high. And I'm sure the Fed is LOVING all these new rounds of layoff announcements, hence rates will stay high.

Companies be like: "Hey...maybe if we lay off 8-10,000 employees like every few months instead of 100,000 all in one go, maybe over time no one will notice..."  Wink

I think anyone asking how these Silicon Valley-based banks could fail, first needs to ask which banks were involved in all the over-hyped California-based SPACs (that have all crashed and burned) over the last couple of years.

Follow the fraud, follow the money.

Here, I'll start:

https://www.svb.com/blogs/silicon-valley-bank/why-spacs-now

EDIT:

Continental put out a statement today about its hundreds of SPACS, says they are SaFu in JPMC, Citibank, or Morgan Stanley.

https://www.spacinsider.com/news/headline-post/continental-spac-trust-accounts

Of course, they don't say if they indeed once had the account funds with SVB or SB and simply moved them. Could've happened anytime within the last couple weeks/months/year for all we know.

Man, soooo much social media effort being expended to bolster public trust and quell the public to NOT do a bank run.

But you know who is moving their money out of these smaller banks? The wealthy, that's who.

Which means in a bank that doesn't have enough cash on hand to cover all depositors, they will have even less now.

The U.S. banking system remains resilient and on a solid foundation, in large part due to reforms that were made after the financial crisis that ensured better safeguards for the banking industry. Those reforms combined with today's actions demonstrate our commitment to take the necessary steps to ensure that depositors' savings remain safe.
